I came in to get the battery replaced on my iPhone 13. I had an appt. There were 4 customers in the tiny front room. Some with appts and some without. It didn't matter. Everyone waited for the one employee to take care of each customer. After an hour, I was able to order and pay for a new battery. A week later I made an appt to have the battery installed. I arrived early and the sole employee said it would take an hour and a half to install the battery. It took nearly 4 hours because the technician was alone and dealt with each person who walked in whether they had an appt or not. I don't know who owns this business but they need to figure out work flow. I won't be going back. read more

Context: I had a terrible call with Apple customer service (of course). Was then sent a text like "how did we do?" and I flamed the person. I was HORRIFIED to then discover that the Apple feedback was actually asking about Shawn and Mobile Kangaroo - because it is truly my favorite Mac Repair place I've ever dealt with - and I've been getting Macs fixed for 25+ years. First, Shawn always either picks up the phone or texts me back in just a few minutes. He also doesn't forget about me when I'm waiting on updates - reporting his findings within seconds after he's diagnosed. If I text him back he immediately returns the text. He gets that I need my computer yesterday and actually acts that way. Honestly, name ANY service business in Sonoma County that you feel that way about? He also works hard to get me best price and best benefits out of my AppleCare coverage. I have the sense he works for ME and not Apple. He overdelivers, too. If he suggests it might take until Thursday I can almost bank on getting it back on a Wednesday. One of my favorite providers of any service in all of Sonoma Country, for realz. read more

Let me start with saying the I love to support local and small business. I reached out to Apple because I wanted to get a new battery for my older model IPhone. I saw that Mobile Kangaroo was Apple certified and local so I was all about giving my local small business my business. I should be just gone to the Apple Store. I walked into the store and the pungent odor just reeked! The store is in terrible shape, unaesthetic, and it smelled absolutely horrific. My 3 year old son and I were greeted by a Siberian Husky type dog which was trying to jump all over my child. I constantly had to pull my child away from the dog because the dog was being a little too aggressive with my son. A grungy guy with a beard and long hair comes from the back and up to the counter. He's wearing a dirty old t-shirt and filthy jeans. To say he looked unprofessional would be an understatement. He was congested and had a junky cough, wasn't wearing a mask or gloves and was wiping his nose with the back of his hand and then handling my phone. The guy was obviously sick and was working putting others (me and my son) at risk. At this time he had called the dog to go behind the counter and go back in its kennel. I felt disgusting being in the store. You can probably get the visual with the dirty store, unhygienic employee, and the place smelling like an unclean animal shelter.I could barely breathe with the stench. The employee told me the phone would be ready in about 1.5 hours and it was. So work-wise he did deliver. However, the work done to my iPhone was completely overshadowed by my experience in the store. I can't say I'd be back. read more

Have an iphone XR which works well, but battery life had seriously degraded. Kangaroo put in a replacement battery, took about an hour and a half, and now battery life is back to awesome. A great experience for me. It's not an amazing store front, but the service was really good. read more

Hard to believe this place (Petaluma location) is Apple Authorized. Had to pay a bogus diagnostic fee upfront before even seeing a tech. Then, when arriving the store was closed during the day. Waited around for someone to show up for my appointment then was told the estimated cost was $330 to replace a battery on a MacBook Air - Extortion much? Plus they'd need to keep it for 3-5 days. Did I mention the space is super sketchy and has a weird smell. Yeh, NO. Never again. Diagnostic fee was kept despite not doing ANY assessment. UPDATE: Same day, found a legitimate repair place that was able to install in 15 minutes - no keeping my computer - and guess what the cost was? $130 OUT THE DOOR. read more

I should have taken it back in then and there but I had a huge project that was time sensitive so I limped it through the project. My Apple Watch recently stopped working. Wouldn't turn on wouldn't charge. I contacted Apple and was gonna bring it in to a store for diagnosis when the apts popped up the Petaluma option for Mobile Kangaroo came up. So I thought great no trip out of town. I scheduled an apt and was then directed to a page to pay a fee I thought that it was odd but paid anyways APPLE does not charge this $39 dollar fee I know now too late!!! Any how I dropped my watch off and explained it would not charge or turn on. The guy working there took the watch and said I would hear from him tomorrow. Here Is the text correspondence. He basically did NOTHING. He took my money and told me to get a new watch! Said the watch would not turn on DUHHHHH. Unable to run diagnostics. After going round and round asking for the $39 diagnostic fee back he offered to send to Apple as a solution. Well why didn't you do that to begin with!?? Isn't that what i paid for. I feel completely taken advantage of. Mobile Kangaroo is a scam. GO TO THE APPLE STORE. I asked for a refund and got the run around. So ridiculous. I hope this post helps someone else. read more

Please don't take your Apple products here! This is a long review and it's also a review for service Provided 2 years ago that only presented an issue this week. My computer got water on the track pad 2 years ago. I brought it in to make sure everything was ok. They kept it for a couple of days and then called. Everything internally was fine. Whew big relief. They told me they could replace my trackpad or I could just buy a mouse which would be a cheaper and faster resolution. I chose to just go get a mouse. I picked up my computer and they didn't give me my charger back. They insisted I didn't bring it with my computer. I left it alone since I thought maybe they were right. When I got home my charger was not there and then I noticed that many external screws were missing. Annoyed about my charger but I felt it not worth my time to cause a fuss, I just purchased a new charger when I purchased my mouse. I also didn't think a few missing screws was a big deal. Fast forward to last week. My computer suddenly couldn't find my hard drive. Not having an awesome experience with kangaroo I decided to just go in to the Apple store. They took my computer apart and asked if I ever pulled my computer apart because it was missing screws. I told her no I hadn't but I knew it was missing screws from the time I took it to mobile kangaroo and that's how they returned it to me. She said that I was missing ALL THE SCREWS ON THE INSIDE!! My battery and hard drive were not secured with screws. So my computer stopped working because my hard drive fell out of place. She told me that it didn't look like a professional worked on my computer at all. IM PISSED! Just to have mobile kangaroo look at my computer when I had the track pad issue cost me $80. They STOLE my charger and then they didn't even properly reassemble my computer. WTF! Don't waste your time or money. You'll likely get your devices back in worse condition than they arrived. I loved the communication and customer service! I dropped my IPhone 11 over the weekend and promptly went online to try and find a place to get the cracked screen repaired. I booked an appointment and went downtown Petaluma the next day! I am so grateful I didn't have to travel to Corte Madera or Santa Rosa for this repair! I was treated so wonderful by Tim! He even took the time to confirm if I had apple care (which turns out I didn't) so I prepaid for the repair and agreed I would return the same day after 3pm. When I returned I was so surprised when Tim explained that the cover had done the job, and saved the screen from breaking! So no broken screen after all!!! Plus I got a full refund! No cost at all! I explained how I really appreciated his honesty! He was all out of IPhone 11 screen covers but offered me the option to return the following week. We chatted about Van Gough exhibit (because of my mask) I recently viewed the San Francisco exhibit and he had viewed the real paintings in Amsterdam with a friend years ago!!!! The Texting system works so great! I sent him a text, he wrote back promptly and confirmed he had the product. I made sure I could arrive after his lunch break, and when I showed up he installed the cover while I waited! The fee was very reasonable and I shared with him how pleased I was and assured him I would tell everyone they should come here for their phone/computer and tablet repairs/service. Thank you Tim!!! You are a great guy and you work really hard! These are some historical times we are living right now, and your kindness, honesty and efficiency is just what I needed (plus my phone got repaired!) It takes a whole lot for me to bother writing a review, but this one deserved it. I set my appointment with them as instructed, and received an automated text from them with a link to confirm/reschedule. As it turned out, I was able to go early, so I hopped on their link to change the time, but the website doesn't work. I then responded to the text (which it said to do) that I would be there a hour early. no response. When I got there I was the only person in the store. the man behind was clearly not happy to see me. He immediately let me know I was a hour early, which I agreed and explained I had both tried to reschedule but their website didnt work, to which he gave the excuse his "boss messed with the website all day" and then explained to me that he was very busy, even though I was the only one there. I offered to come back late, he said he would try to help now. I explained what the issue was, why apple had referred me to them to look at my AirPods and he promptly let me know he would be charging me $35 if he even looked at them and that most likely it would cost at least $99 to get a replacement case. He was extremely unhelpful and rude, clearly doesn't like his job nor people in general. It was obvious he had zero desire to actually try to help, so I said never mind, and turned to leave. The building is super old and the door doesn't have any resistance, so when I opened it, it swung wide open and I turned to catch it but it was too late regardless of me already apologiving. he leapt out of his chair screaming at me to get out and not come back and was very agro and very intimidating. Poor customer service. They try to get you to log in and pay before you arrive. Then if you don't, they hand you the ipad when you get there. They won't 'look at it' or talk to you until you pay the service fee. The basic is 19.99, $49.99 with water damage. I had no water damage but he insisted I pay $49.95. before talking to me. He was surly and unfriendly and I ended up walking out snd going to Apple. trying to save a trip to Santa Rosa or Corte Madera and give local store my business, but just couldn't do it. read more

My MacBook keyboard stopped responding to keystrokes over Thanksgiving weekend, and after trying to troubleshoot it myself, I attempted to book an appointment at the Apple Store in Santa Rosa. Nothing was available for a few days, but then apple.com offered an appointment at Kangaroo Mobile as an option the same day. Having them right here in downtown Petaluma was fantastic! Tim was very engaging and friendly when I brought my computer in to him. He was able to diagnose my issue very quickly and said he'd call before 9 PM to let me know the cost. I received the call on time and was told I'd have my computer back within 4 days. I paid my emailed invoice and received the call that it was repaired and ready 3 days later. I'm quite pleased with the convenience, service, friendliness and Mac knowledge that Tim provided--a wonderful experience all-around. Now that I know I don't have to schlepp all the way to Santa Rosa, I'll bring my older computer for him to help me with soon. Thanks again, Tim! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Go to Apple. They charge less, take less time, and won't try to screw you over. Dealt with Miles at the Petaluma location in May, 2022. Went in to replace a swollen battery for an older MacBook Pro. After 8 days, I got through by phone (all other attempts went to voicemail), and he said he tried to contact me but that it "didn't go through." Then he upped the price $100 to do the same job (to almost twice what Apple charges). I didn't consent to additional charges and picked up my computer. He refused to refund the $65 inspection fee for what was clearly only a swollen battery, after making me wait over a week, and violating the verbal contract. Bought one online and fixed it myself. I didn't have to wait but a couple of minutes, and since I was late, it was really nice of him to not make me reschedule. He explained everything to me clearly in layman terms, showed me how to do what I didn't know how to do, was efficient, professional, pleasant, and gained my trust. He had my phone for 45 minutes, was not getting paid by Apple for that service, and didn't even charge me. He also resolved my issue easily.
