I had a very disappointing experience at the RSM Staples Amazon returns counter today. I arrived with my daughter and stood waiting for nearly 10 minutes while the employee, an older gentleman named Gary I believe, was busy taping boxes and did not acknowledge us or let us know he would be with us shortly. Initially, I was patient and understanding, assuming he was multitasking. However, after waiting with no communication, I asked if he could help us with our return. He responded that he was busy taping boxes and could not assist at the moment. What was frustrating is that the Amazon return process only requires a quick barcode scan, which takes seconds. Instead of briefly helping customers who were already waiting, we were left ignored. Overall, the lack of basic customer service and communication made the experience unpleasant. A simple acknowledgment or quick scan would have made a big difference. read more

I have been looking everywhere for the Speck Clear iPhone 14 Pro Max case, which they had in stock here at Staples. While perusing the store I looked up a similar item online, and found it on another site for less. When I went to check out my case a very nice employee by the name of Gary helped me. I come here every now and then to get basic office supplies and paper for my home printer. Boring stuff. Recently I came here to get passport photos taken as it was time to renew mine. I guess that excited me enough to write a brief review. Staff here were quick to tend to me and summoned a young lad to take my photo in front of a lighted background. He then vanished into a backroom for several minutes and returned with my two perfectly sized passport pictures. I was glad to see my eyes weren't closed or that I didn't look quite as goofy as I do in reality. Supplies or passport photos, they got you covered here. read more

Very unsatisfied with my customer service. I ordered a laptop twice only for them to say that they couldn't find my office which is a large facility that has been around since 1968. Then I was sent to the store to pick up twice and both times it was extremely unpleasant and not Customerservice friendly. They refused to talk to me about my order because, while my name was on the email as a pick up person my boss had ordered the laptop and they wouldn't even entertain talking to me. I had an email that had my name on it as a pick up person. They refused to take it or look at it saying that I could've altered the email. Very frustrating. Don't ever wanna buy from this place ever again. Nobody knows what they're doing and I guess the store manager named Ryan is not very friendly at all. I'd been searching for a new office chair for a while and even tried ordering two from Amazon, but both turned out to be low quality and nothing like what I wanted. I then decided to check out staples instead. Christopher went above and beyond. He not only brought out the exact chair I was looking for from the back but also took the time to make sure I got the best possible deal. He clearly explained the warranty, answered my questions, and honestly just made the whole process easy. He was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about helping me get what I needed. Staples sold me an ASUS laptop in Oct. 2022 and persuaded me to purchase Asurion insurance. Both were a waste of money. Today, I called and was transferred to Mason, their Inv. Mgr. When I attempted to explain my troubles with laptop and insurance difficulties, his response was, "I don't understand why you are calling Staples about this..." Maybe it's cuz Staples sold me both and neither works? After owning Asus laptop for 3 weeks, I brought in cuz battery wouldn't hold a charge. They kept it 3 hours and said the battery was fine. Yep, this new laptop, unused, could retain charge nearly 3 hours. Unfortunately, I actually USE my laptop for Netflix, email, etc. On March 4th, laptop no longer would charge at all. Asurion, the insurance company Staples promotes, had me ship it to their repair center in N.Y. Today, 9 days later, they return it to me stating, " not the product" insured." Say what? When I phoned Asurion, they said repair wad denied due lack of serial number tag. (Mfg embeds model number but not serial on laptop) So they transferred me to ASUS, the manufacturer, and told me to obtain a new serial tag. ??? So I'm to get a new tag that will undoubtedly be a different number, so they can deny me again? Wow, don't tell scammers how easy it may be to get serial tags. When the ASUS hold line disconnected me, I gave up. That's when I reached out to the seller, Staples, for help. Seems they'll extoll the virtues of products they sell, but wash their hands of any aftermarket issues by saying, "Not my problem!" I'm old enough to remember when stores stood by the products they sold. It's unlikely Staples, ASUS, or Asurion tries to make the end of this ugly story better, but if that were to happen, I'd update review. One can dream.... Ps. Fullb disclosure: As laptop needed for job, I took it to Quick Fix, who said I needed new battery. I purchased new one to keep working as it's hard for disabled senior citizens to find employment and didn't want to lose my job. Staples Mgr. Mason, advised me that I "voided: my warranty by doing so. Excuses for not assisting customers kept multiplying. read more

This team put all the stops out and really helped me out just in time. They were kind, caring, and swift. I can't thank this team enough for their hard work and commitment to customer service. UPS in here WILL loose your package and not scan it!! Make sure to get your receipt to file a claim, without it you're at a loss. Dropped a package off at this location two weeks ago and it never tracked; come to find out they never scanned it so now I am out my package and cannot file a claim since they never gave me a receipt. If you have to go to a UPS, go to the one on Portola in Foothill, they don't loose your stuff and always give you a receipt. read more

Waited a while at customer service desk while a gentlemen processed a big Amazon return. A female comanager walked up to register and did some things but didn't even acknowledge that I was waiting. Then she just walked away. A man came to the register and she came back and processed his order. She looked at me and told me if I was recycling cartridges I should be in the check out line. Then she walked away. Really?! What poor customer service especially for management!!! read more

I wanted to give an update after more than a year of avoiding this place. This store seem to have hired new personnel and the printing experience was no less than phenomenal!!! In context, I placed my order online but the system did not seem to capture the file attached. Ariana quickly called me to validate. So I drove to the store to make sure everything was ok and she was very accommodating to my needs. But my experience wasn't the only one worth mentioning ... as there was an older customer (probably in his 70s) before me who had a lot of questions about his order and she handled him patiently and professionally without any hint of irritation. She made sure all his concerns were properly addressed before proceeding with mine. What an awesome lady! Also while waiting, another personnel approached me to see if I can be helped. Great teamwork. Like I said, it's a complete turnaround experience that deserves a review. read more

Resolution: I left and went to Lowe's, I went in to staples just to get a whiteboard. When I got to the back of the store where they were kept . Everything was a mess. I sorted through the area that said "Hot Deals!"and found 4 whiteboards sitting above the sale sign 36.99 I asked the associate if she had a yard stick and she helped me get one. When I got to the register with my items the young guy asked me if there was another yard stick . I told him yeah there was more. The bar code was missing a piece. He asked me if I would mind getting one with a bar code {annoyed} I said that I would and I wanted to check the price of the whiteboard because there was a mess back there and I wanted to see if I got the right one. It rung up $80s. So I asked him to come back and help me. So he did . When we got back to the white board pig-sty he pulled the associate there to help me too. Turns out ALL the sales tags were old. None were ringing up as presented. She took the scanner and showed me the scanner saying g it was 47.99. For a different white board. There was absolutely no organization. And additionally there was no accountability. No "our mistake" let me give you the item at the store fronted price. I set my things down that I was going to buy and told them they need to get organized and said I was going to Lowe's. Bad service. No organization. No attempt at recovery. read more

I often go to Staples because it's so convenient to do my printing for my business. Today was especially unique and special. I was greeted by a young lady named Sharon and she was helpful, kind and informative. She asked me to use my points that I had accumulated, which was unknown to me that I had that option. I ended up paying $0.80 for my purchase. She made my day and my experience there even more memorable. This store always has friendly smiling faces but today was exceptional. I recommend coming here for not only an easy transaction but for over the top customer service. read more

This review is solely for the customer service in the printing department on 9/21/22 in at 1pm. This was my second visit to a Staples store for this particular project, first time being at the Aliso Viejo Store, where I had excellent customer service. Today, I was printing the second half of this project which I started initially at another location. I have been using an unfamiliar program with a template provided that needed to be printed, which was essentially 2 types of images to fit onto 1 page. Mind you. All of this was seamless and quick at another location by another sales person, seeming to be an ordinary fairly easy request/ job. Today, the gentleman at the RSM store in the printing shop was extremely unhelpful, did not go above and beyond to help me complete my project on the spot. I was not in a rush, able to sit to complete this in a timely manner with understanding it may take time to complete. Despite me explaining that the other store had no problems printing my project, I stated I was able to explain some of what the other store did in assisting me with this project, in hopes that it could help him print and move forward with my project at hand. He continually stated he could not help and I needed to put an order in online, not in person, leaving the store and that I need to pick this type of project up later. I was only printing 20 pages of 8x11 (standard size) colored pages on standard paper. This was not a big project by any means. Just needing some help on reformatting of images. All while the other location, helped me on the spot, problem solved well (which didn't even seem to be a problem) and done in less than 30 minutes. The gentleman, who I found out is the store manager, seemed to be unwilling to help, not willing to problem solve and is not someone who goes above and beyond for customers even in the most menial project. There's even more disappointment in knowing the GM of this location didn't try to be more patient and helpful with me. I would never come back here to the printing station and suggest the Aliso Viejo location for projects. read more

Came in right when they opened to get three sheets laminated. Right away I was given a bunch of excuses from Taylor at the print and copy center that she was the only one there and didn't have time to complete a quick lamination. I've gone to several other locations where three small sheets would take no more than five minutes, including cutting. I tried to explain to her that I live an hour and a half away and this was my only time to get it done and that it usually only takes a few minutes and was again on the receiving end of excuses about staffing and the fact that it would take her days to get the order done. Horrible customer service, and a bunch of excuses from a very unprofessional young lady. Will be contacting corporate. I've never heard of Staples, refusing someone's lamination order. read more

So normally I rank food places (yes I am big foodie) But I have to give props to this team at Staples. I needed marketing material (cards, fliers) done last minute for my conference this week. These guys went out of their way to make sure I get quality (oh yeah I was building some of these stuff on the fly) Help with ideas, design and quick turn around. Given all the service issues we are facing, these guys are just solid. Staples corporate please pay extra attention to this team. Absolutely love this team and highly recommend them. I rarely go to Staples. However, I went a couple days ago to grab some supplies for my new office. The manager was rude and condescending when I asked for assistance with some printer ink, he made me feel dumb for asking to help pick the correct model for my printer. The staff also has no knowledge whatsoever of their respective departments. That being said, this location does not deserve a 1 star rating! read more

No sense of urgency to help customers. Waiting at the register to buy three items. The guy had no idea what he was doing. Tried numerous times to log onto the register but was unsuccessful. Another person finally came up but went straight to the phone to answer a call. The guy in front of me asked her for help and she said he would have to wait for her to help the customer on the phone. My wife and I went here yesterday to buy a hard drive. I took the empty box off the shelf and went to the service counter where you exchange the empty box for the real deal. When I got to the counter, I set the empty box on the counter in front of me. There was a guy standing at the counter going through a cart of items that looked like they needed to be returned to the shelves. He asked me if anyone has helped me yet. I said "no." He just continued to work and didn't help me at all. There were two other guys behind the counter too. One was eating and the other was fiddling with something. All three just ignored me. Since nobody addressed us, my wife and I simply left the box on the counter and walked out of the store without making a peep. Thank goodness for Amazon. I ordered the same product $4 cheaper and got same day service. I think my Staple days are nearing an end if service doesn't improve. UPDATE July 2020 Took a chance and gave Staples another chance. My wife and I went there to buy a paper shredder for our business. While looking, a salesman approached and asked if we had any questions. While speaking to him, he suggested the extended warranty on the shredder. I told him I don't do extended warranties and had no interest in purchasing one. I eventually selected a shredder and got in line. The same salesman called me over to the electronics counter to ring me up and couldn't because he was locked out the register. Meanwhile 3 other people got in the original line I was waiting. But that's not what really irritated me. When the salesman finally got the register to work he asked me THREE times if I wanted the extended warranty and began to argue with me about why I needed one. I was not going to argue with him, so I left the shredder at the register and my wife and I walked out without buying it. Once again, Amazon received my business instead. I think I'm done with Staples. (At least the RSM store) UPDATE August 2020 I must be a glutton for punishment. I went to Staples again yesterday to buy an office chair and everything went well until I got to the register. Then it happened. The cashier tried to sell me a protection plan and wouldn't take no for an answer until I completely lost my shit at the register. Who in the hell are training these people??? Shopped here recently in search of a few items needed for work and was a little disappointed that I couldn't find a leather organizer (or something similar) to organize and nicely present a lot of my on the go paperwork. I found that the items they carried were either lacking pertinent pockets, took up too much room with a calculator and business card holders or were too bulky and way overpriced. I did quickly find a few of the other items I had needed like those great flat staple removers and those handy plastic pocket folders. I used my gift card for those items and was happily on my way. I went to staples to go get my Business cards printed. I needed 5 different backs on my set of cards and I was unable to do this on the website. Eric from the printing department worked with me for an hour to get my cards exactly how I wanted them. He was really patient and explained everything he was doing. Procrastination once again nearly cost me. And once again, someone saved my hide. I placed an order for posters in the early AM and figured they would be done within the day. But I underestimated how many others were doing the same thing. I popped in at the end of the day to see if my goods had been printed and just sitting there waiting for me. The crew told me it was a busy day and most likely wouldn't be done until the next day. What can you do? I left grumpy but not at them... they didn't procrastinate. This idiot typing did. However, I got home and about an hour later, Christian, Print Supervisor, calls and says they are done. He didn't have to rock them out. But he did. I was so blown away. I don't know that I would have watch me pouting and kicking the can down the road and help me out. But Christian and his team did. Super cool of them. Giving them a five star rating hardly seems like enough. read more
