If I could give negative stars to this store's Copy and Print center, I would. I deal with Staples Copy and Print centers all over the country because my company does trainings that we need binders printed for. I've never had this poor service. First of all, my files were too large for the Staples email system to process. So I called the store. As soon as Rosemary picked up the phone I knew this was not going to be good. She had no idea what the maximum size of the file should be for it to go through and told me to submit my order through the website. Submitting orders (especially large ones) through the website is a horrendous and slow process, but I had the time so I did it anyway. Then I call Rosemary back to see if she got it. Yes, she says, but she cannot open some of the PDF's. She said they are not PDF's, they are in something called PhotoExpert. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and that I would try to send those pdf's by e-mail, since they were fairly small. So I send the email and ask her to please call me if she cannot open them. No call, so I figure she was able to. I'm sure you know what happened next... My binders were of course not printed in time for my training. I'm assuming Rosemary spoke to me, knew I had an order that needed to be done by Monday, and went home for the weekend without telling ANYONE else my situation. I played phone tag with the Copy and Print Center all weekend trying to figure out if they received everything. I figured my numerous frantic calls would clue someone in to the fact that I need HELP, not attitude. When I called Rosemary to ask her why my order would not be completed, she pretended to not remember speaking to me the week before. We had 3 conversations and she looked at my files, asked me questions and wrote stuff down. I didn't think it would be so hard to print paper and then put it in binders... First of all, I got out of my car and realized the air smelled like a sewer in the lot out front of this store. I don't usually come here so I didn't know if this was normal; not the fault of the business I'm sure, but unfortunate. The store was large and bright and looked clean, but on the down side, I was not greeted by anyone nor could I see anyone out on the floor when I wanted to be able to ask where to find what I'd come in for. After much wandering around I managed to come across what I was looking for and was stunned by how much money they wanted for a datebook and a financial journal. I don't know if there is any place else to find these items where I would suffer less sticker shock. I wanted them now, so I wasn't going to go do comparison shopping. I went up front to check out. It wasn't clear where to get help there either. There was someone in the area that said Customer Service but they had their back toward the store and were engrossed in something and not available. There were check out lanes to the right of that, but neither had a light on and didn't appear to have anyone waiting to ring out a customer. As I got closer I was asked if I could be helped by the two people that had been standing there that I thought were other customers not employees. I was told I needed to go to the next lane over and one of them then went over there and rang up my purchases. She was pleasant, but that was not enough to make me feel like this is a very shopper friendly place. read more

Tell me why I am not surprised by this low rated store? I walked into this store today expecting to buy some school supplies that was needed fro the upcoming year. I was disappointed because everything was messy.and I had asked an employee where a particular item was.. He said..the special buy table over in the front.... Hello? I asked you so you would show it to me.. I walk around the front looking confused and I stumble upon the clearance table thinking that it was there..but nope.. it wasn't.. I walked over to another employee who looked like some manager or what not because he just came out from his office.. I approached him and he rudely asked looking super annoyed.. how many boxes do you want?? I'm like SAY WHAT??! By this time.. he's sighing all over the place, looking all mad and pissed off. I'm like.. where is the special buy table? Can you show me..? He's like they're scattered everyone.. Before I could even ask him to show me the nearest one.. He walked off.. RUDE & I said out loud.. Man this place got bad customer service.. I then walk around the store 94335235 more times trying to find what I needed and then I see another young man and asked him if they had any more of these items in stock and within 7 minutes later he came back and told me they were out of stock. I didn't even need to look for the item that I was looking for earlier because luckily my cousin found it and I wouldn't have to ask these rude employees anymore. I asked the employee a question, "When will you guys be getting more?" He completely ignored my question and asked.. "Is that all you're looking for?" I was like can you listen to me first? There's too many rude employees and this place is messy and you can never find what you're looking for.. THEY SHOULD GET A SITE MAP! One star for the overall experience. To sum it up, they were low on employees and the employees (and manager) were rude. There were too many customers looking confused. Avoid this Staples if you have to. :) read more

I never leave online reviews, but considering the ABSOLUTELY HORRID experience I had with this store I have no choice. If I could give this store less than one star, I would without any hesitation. I spent nearly two hours on the phone to find resolution to an online order mixup that was due to an error by STAPLES. I helped my son with an order the day after Christmas so he could purchase a gaming chair. The Cumming store showed the item in stock online, so we placed the order. His debit card was simultaneously charged for the item. An hour later, we received a call the item was not in stock. We were given absolutely no recourse although there are multiple stores in the area with the item available. Instead, my son must wait 2-3 banking days to receive a refund while Staples ties up his money. No alternative for the customer whatsoever. Their system is incredibly flawed! The man I spoke with in the Cumming store (who claimed to be one of the store managers) was incredibly rude, offered no alternative or help, told me to call the 800 number even though it was his mistake - he admitted he "scratched" the order when it came through because all he had was a floor model - and then he ended our conversation with "I don't know what to tell you lady" before he abruptly hung up on me. If I knew his name I would post it here, but when my husband called the store to find out who the manager was he was given a female name. Riiiigggght. We can't wait to give our business to Office Depot in the future! We will never, EVER purchase from Staples again!! read more

Need two reasons not to shop here? Well sure ya do! 1) My memorable phone call to the copy center. I called them in regards to printing ONE envelope. Me: Yea hi, do you guys print envelopes for mailing? Them: *mumble, mumble, mumble,* Me: I'm sorry, what did you say? Them: (sighs) *mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble* Me: ........uhhhh yea, do you print envelopes or not? Them: *mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble, * "no we don't" Me: Oooookay...? well thanks for your help I guess. Them: *mumble, mumble* (phone hangs up) Apparently Kenny McCormick works the phones at this particular location. After translating what this disgruntled employee was trying to tell me, I felt like I'd been successfully lobotomized with a red hot poker. 2) Management is completely useless. I know it's easy to blame the employees for not working the floor correctly or talking to each other while on the clock. But you have to agree, it's management's fault for letting them get away with it. Maybe if that ugly lady with the tri-hawk hairdo would come out of hiding from her office and actually do her job, things would run a lot more smoothly. More than once I've been told by employees, "Oh, I don't know how to do that, I'm new here," or "let me find somebody who knows how to help you." And more often than not, the people that are most willing to say "I don't know" are management. Whisky Tango Foxtrot, man! If I wanted to play some sick office supply game with the Staples minions I'll give them the heads up beforehand. This store was a disappointment. I very much just intended on getting an engineer print, but since the printing services were backed up, I had to wait around the store. They really lack the concept of stocking their shelves. A ton if end caps were empty and just didn't have a lot of things available. Okay on to printing. First off the lady didn't know what an engineer print was. Secondly you get charged a few for them to scan anything. Which just sounds ridiculous. When I finally got my prints they were awful. Apparently the lady had to print them multiple times because she had a hard time getting them right. So all this time I spent waiting, which was about 30mins, I got nothing. She even insisted I take all the reject prints. Next time I'm going to print at a kinkos. read more

I used to enjoy shopping in Staple's but after having a very uncomfortable shopping experience this evening, I will no longer be shopping here for any office or school supplies. It is very unfortunate that one cannot have a pleasant shopping experience without any assumptions being made about them or being obviously watched/followed by a sales associate and manager. I have shopped in Staple's several times during my years of college and have had pleasant experiences with previous sales members who have worked there, but after today's experience I am left with a very bad impression of the assumptions that are made about their customers and their lack of knowing how to properly serve their customers. I was watched/followed from the time that I walked into the store, to the time that I made my purchase, and as I walked out to my car. After noticing the manager watching me from the store when I got to my car I went back into the store to ask if there was an issue. The issue was that I had supposedly walked into the store with my big purse "flat" and then all of a sudden my big purse was "full", which means an assumption was made that I was stealing. I was very angry because I had already had a stressful day, I went into Staple's to simply look for a new planner in which I purchased along with some small posted tabs, and my day was ended with an unpleasant shopping experience based off of an assumption that was made about me and the size of my purse. I had given the manager permission to check my purse and he refused to do so. My advice to anyone who chooses to shop at this location, please be aware of your actions, be mindful of the size of your bag or anything that you personally carry into the store. If you need too, leave your backpack, brief case, duffle bag, big purse, or whatever you carry in your car or at the front of the store with a cashier, so that undo assumptions may not be made, you are not wrongfully targeted, and you can possibly have a good shopping experience. Unfortunately, I did not think to do these things because I had no clue that I would have the experience that I had. I will no longer shop here. Ordering and canceling orders online is nearly IMPOSSIBLE.. Got emails saying my payment was declined so I made sure my card was unlocked and checked my bank statements to find there was nothing even pending for staples so I made a 2nd order as one does and was given an email with an expected delivery date only to be sent another email about my payment declining.. made a 3rd order thinking my orders were cancelled seeing as the payment was "declined" and STILL was told via email my order was not accepted.. then received 3 emails for 3 separate orders saying they wouldn't be delivered if I didn't print a form with a signature and leave at the delivery site for the driver‍ Then get an email saying one 1/3 orders was delivered and didn't need said print off or signature. Needless to say I was charged 3 times for 3 orders so I tried to cancel two of the said orders online and went through all the trouble of selecting quantities and providing reasons for returning the items only to be emailed AGAIN and told I'd recieve a shipping return label after my packages are delivered If I have to cancel the order online why the hell are we still receiving the order 5 days later even though they haven't even shipped yet and why should I have to wait for the package to be shipped and arrive to put a label on them and carry them to a post office and have them sent back??? Both times I went there the service was piss poor. On 12/15 I was getting copies for a Christmas party and was in a great mood until I went there. I thought maybe it was a one time thing but today I went and they still had the worst customer service ever. They don't even try to be pleasant, efficient, or speedy. They act like you are bothering them when you come up to the counter to ask for service. Their negative attitudes are like poison. We ordered Cyber Monday wireless ear buds on Staples web site. They messed up the order by running our card as debit instead of credit and the transaction was denied. We called after finding out thru email that the card was rejected so we gave them a different card and made sure to tell them to run it as credit. They said ok and then come to find out they just cancelled our order without telling us. We saw there were no charges on our card we called to find out what happened. The woman we spoke to would do nothing to help. She said they would be happy to sell them to us at full price. They had their own records of our purchase but would not honor the price. Well I will not shoP at Staples ever again on the fifth I went to purchase with cash a box of finger cots they only have small and medium order just went got a medium box which is all the way in the back of the right hand of the store then the mediums were way too small so I bring them back I go all over the back of the store again and there is no larges again so I just thought I want my money back so I had to leave his position there which is that all he was the only cashier to go get a handHeld device to see my records and of course it's on there but it wouldn't give him a receipt to pull up I didn't have my receipt for the $2.48 item so the only thing they could do is actually give me a in-store credit like I was ever going to shop there again. A great office supply store to find just what your looking for. The prices, however are higher then other comparable places. The staff is helpful and eat to help you. They have a decent selection of children's educational decor and tools, which comes in handy when I work with my two little ones at home. They also have some neat children's educational dollar items located in the front. read more

Not sure they want any business because they don't bother to give any customer service. We were at the Freeport/Meadowview location on Sunday when their weekly ad comes out. The store was not busy. We were looking for something promoted in their ad and couldn't find it. We asked a guy for some help to locate it. Without even looking, he quickly replied, "We just have what's out there." He did not bother to walk over and look at the shelf, check their computer for inventory, go to the stockroom, or even ask someone else that might know. This guy could not be bothered with us. He just cut us off and treated us like he was too busy. On several other occasions, we have been to the print department. They may be understaffed or something because the service is super slow. Recently there were several people waiting for help, but there was only one woman working. She was polite, but very slow and unable to multitask. She did not demonstrate any type of urgency at all. I waited for about 12 minutes to just get help. Finally someone else came over to assist. So, Staples on Freeport/Meadowview, if you wonder why sales are low, this is an example of why. You are losing sales because of poor customer service. Please train your employees to care and be more helpful. We really do want to support you. read more

I've been to a couple other Staples around Sacramento (E. Stockton & Truxel) and they are pretty top notch in terms of customer service and checking me out quickly. I did NOT have a great experience at this particular Staples. I usually go to the Staples on E. Stockton or Truxel and they're pretty top notch. The employees at E. Stockton and Truxel are great, they smile and genuinely want to help you. I was at the Freeport Staples earlier this month and I swear, none of the employees even asked me if I needed help looking for something when it was obvious I could not find what I was looking for. My experience got worst waiting to check out. I don't know why there was one cashier when there were 3 or 4 customers were waiting in line. I saw that there were 2 or 3 workers just roaming around the store (maybe moving things around? moving inventory around?). I heard someone on the PA ask employees to start working at the registers since the line had been filling up. FOR SOME STUPID REASON, this cashier that had just opened up, TOOK THE CUSTOMER BEHIND ME EVEN THOUGH I WAS NEXT IN LINE. That was beyond me. I kept my cool, I should've said something, but I was just so pissed, I knew I would go beserk and say/do something I'd regret. Like who does that? I was next in line, waited this whole time because the cashier in front of me was working so slow this is how I get rewarded? By letting someone behind me get checked out before me? Because it looked like the customer in front of me was almost done getting checked out? I'm not going to name names, but the manager needs to get their employees set straight. I'm not coming to this Staples ever again and neither will my family/friends. read more

Tried going there to have a few photos printed for a project. The "girl" that was working the print center was having one immature tantrum after another about the printer jamming. She seemed to think it was cute but it was retardedly unprofessional. Her "helper" had apparently never operated a copier in her life. In general they were clueless children doing big kid jobs. I ended up just buying some ink and leaving so I could print the stuff I needed at home. Staples used to be good but this one has a lot of work to do. read more

I hate to write this review since it's been a few years but I can't help myself! I brought in my computer that was under warranty that had died, I paid the $60 to get all my photos and personal information. When I went to pick it up they said my laptop was not able to be fixed so they destroyed it. I asked them for my pictures etc and they said they forgot to get anything off my computer. While they did replace my computer and refund my $60, I lost a lot of pictures of my kids growing up and it still really bothers me! I can never replace those!!! The rude sqatty little four-eyed shrimp cashier that looks like a 4th grader is the worst of them all. Yeah I'm talking about you Christophen! You need some serious customer service training. I tried to return a label maker never been opened and I had the receipt but NOPE! Their ridiculous return policy is only 14 fricking days! 14 days is all you get to return something, although label makers weren't listed under the 14 day policy. Don't buy a gift for someone here unless you are giving it to them the next day as 14 days goes by pretty quickly then you are SOL. Who in the heck only gives you 14 days for returns?!?! STAPLES!! Great service here, someone will usually ask if you need help after you walk in. They do copies, fix computers as well as sell office supplies. The furniture they sell here is pretty basic, but inexpensive. A great location for people in the Meadowview and Pocket Area. read more

I also like the fact they give you extra help with photos, artwork and anything you need printed. The girls at the photo counter are just wonderful.
