I have been using Staples for awhile now to print and copy large amounts for important meetings. Having several significant events this week, I have been in 3 times over the course of the last 2 weeks. Tonight while I was printing documents, the printer kept jamming. I did not complain yet I kept needing assistance from employees in order to keep fixing the machine. The employees were short with me the whole time and at the end told me I was extremely high maintenance for asking for help...this left me less than impressed. read more

Female store manager was crazy rude last night. I tried out desk chairs until I found the one I wanted. A gentleman offered to put it together for me for an additional $14.99. He was super helpful because I hate putting those chairs together. Once we got the chair I wanted to the front of the store (I also bought a keyboard) the female manager told me that I'd have to come get the chair put together another day because she was understaffed. The store was completely empty! think she just didn't want to have to cover the register while he assembled my chair. I told her to just ring the chair up with my keyboard and I'll put it together at home. She was rude the entire time even while ringing me up. She also openly told the cashier to "watch" a certain person if they came back to the store in case the person was trying stealing. Ew! Just all out unprofessional and rude. The gentlemen helped me put the box in my car for the chair and apologized for the managers rudeness. $138 I spent at this staples last night for the worst management ever. I came in to get work supplies while waiting for my tires to be replaced at discount tire. I had a large varietal list of supplies I had to purchase, which were very complex. To be honest, I did not know where to find the majority of my items besides paperclips! One of the stores associates was kind enough to ask if I needed any assistance. I was so grateful. The last thing I know is office supplies and it's difficult to find the exact type of ink or paper size that my work requested. Tj was very helpful. We went from one end of the store to the other, and back again to check off my list of supplies. When I wasn't satisfied with a certain clipboard binder, Tj knew exactly where to find an alternative leather made one that I knew my manager wanted. I will be back for the customer service and patience. Thank you Tj!! He even offered to carry the giant box of paper to my car. To me, that is above and beyond customer service. read more

Came in to get 6 xerox copies done on cardstock, that I brought in. Their do it yourself xerox do not like cardstock so I always have them do it behind their counter and in 30 seconds, it's done. Oh not today! The young lady behind the counter said you'll have to wait for it. I said ok, no problem. Thinking it will be like 15-20 min. She's filling out a form and said "I can TRY to do this before my shift is over at 7:00 tonight." Ummm, it's 2:45pm now, why the hell would I wait here until your shift gets done with and with the chance that my 6 xerox copies get done.?! She did say that her copier has been down since Friday. Ugh, kids. Why would she say you can wait, why would she say she will TRY to get it done before her shift is over and why would she said they could do it if their copier has been down for the last 5 days!! Walked into this store no one offered to help at all and they were obviously understaffed. The computer service station is so slow so it just eats your money while your trying to get to websites. To top it all off I went into the bathroom with my son and it was the most disgusting bathroom I have ever been in! I've been in gas station bathrooms that are cleaner than this. I walked into staples looking to purchase a computer, desk and printer. The manager was rude and unwilling to answer basic questions about the products I was looking to purchase. I was told someone from that department would come over to help me. After about ten minutes of waiting and no other employees showing up I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. #neveragain I felt as though they did not want to sell me the computer that I was looking at because I was one of the customers who managed to bring in the mailer that had a coupon. I have had previous shopping experiences with Staples prior to this one and those were also 1-2 star experiences. In the future I will choose another large box store or membership club. This shopping experience at this store on this day just put me over the top with this company. read more

Two days ago I had the worst experience I've ever had in any retail store. I walked into the store to purchase a cross pen. I find the pen I want and it's a photo of the pen I'm sure to help with theft issues, I have no issues with that. I walk up to the cashier named Tray, I hand him the photo of the pen and a box of cheaper pens. He looks at the photo and asks what do you want me to do with that.... After attempting to tell him I wanted to purchase the pen it gets monumentally worse. I ask for a manager Sid walks up and as I'm trying to tell Sid about my experience tray steps from behind his register and walks between the manager and myself. Guess what the manager does NOTHING..... I asked for the corporate number he gave me the wrong number. When I get the right one I tell them I don't want anything but a call from the district manager she fails to call me... She still hasn't. I thought the only way to send a message is to return the pens. As I'm walking in to return the pens tray who is outside getting a return from a customers truck laughs at me.... If you have printing needs, do not take your business to this Staples location. I am new to AZ and wanted business cards printed. I took a sample card with me and asked to have it duplicated, including the same card stock and colors. The only thing different was the information in the copy. They distorted the photo on the card when it was cropped, the spacing was inconsistent and the last letter of one of the words was a different color than the rest of the word. They had three opportunities to get it right and failed every time. I'm meeting with another printer tomorrow and have to start from scratch. While the employees were apologetic and very nice it doesn't replace competence. read more

Bought a lap top on black Friday and they guys helped me out. They helped me find the right computer for my gf for Christmas.

After a manager at this location went above and beyond a year or two ago, I always started at this store when shopping. Now they have a new manager. I was buying a new computer, and discussing the options with a very knowledgeable salesperson. A manager who I'd heard barking orders a couple times, barked at my salesman to go open a register (There were only a couple people in line). I told her he'd do that after he finished helping me. I got a dirty look from her, and she got a smile back from me. The computer lasted 15 days. I called and spoke with a female manager named Donna. From her attitude, I'm guessing she was the same one who barked at the salesman helping me when I bought it. The conversation centered on what she couldn't do for me. I can understand company policies. I just can't understand crappy attitudes toward customers. It's funny how one person can create strong loyalty, and another can wipe it away. I'll never set foot inside that Staples to buy anything again. And now I have a worthless piece metal and plastic that Staples has unloaded on me, and told me to take it up with the manufacturer. Although the workers were available for service, the restrooms in the store, at least the women's were totally out of toilet paper and looked to have not been cleaned in a VERY long time. I purchased several items that had rebates and submitted the rebates on-line as instructed. I received a Staples Easy Rebate card and followed the directions for using it at a store and the card was denied! I took it back to the store and spoke with a store rep who advised I call the number on the card. I did so and was connected to a recording which did not have a choice for my problem. I went to chat on line and again got no satisfaction. What is the point of expecting a rebate if you cannot use it?? The store and the website did not help me! Now I'm stuck with a useless card and paying full price for the items! read more

Having checked Staples' website out and determined that this store had two boxes of Green Mountain half-caffe k-cups, I asked my husband to go out for no other reason than to pick up a box at this store. I couldn't believe it when he came home and said they didn't them. What this tells me is that they (Staples) need to do a better job of keeping their website up-to-date. This was a complete waste of both my and my husband's time. I ended up ordering the k-cups online from Keurig and paying $6.95 shipping. My husband and I are long-time customers of Staples and have always been rerasonably pleased with them until now. So, the lesson learned is don't take what they say on their website insofar as availability tis concerned to be accurate. I know we won't. read more

I came in and purchased a new HP laser printer (they price matched to Amazon), plus was convinced at the till to purchase the 4 replacement ink cartridges to save 20% (was told we had to buy at the time at printer purchase to receive the 20% off the cartridges). Went ahead and did that. Walked the few feet down to Best Buy to see what selection of laser printers they carried, and lo and behold, they have the identical HP laser printer and would price match... only, Best Buy was offering $20 off EACH toner cartridge at time of printer purchase. Cartridge costs were the same at both stores. My discount per cartridge at Staples was only $13 to 15 per item, not the $20 per item. I walked back to Best Buy and decided to forgo cartridge purchases completely, so brought back my 4 cartridges. The same clerk scanned the 4 cartridges and refunded me (I did mention the rebate discrepancy with Best Buy and she said she would price match, so that would have been fine). Then, as I was walking back to my car, I noticed that my first receipt contained charges for FIVE cartridges! I had to walk back and show the clerk, and she refunded me the extra charge. Note that every time she rang stuff through, the clerk (same one each time), mentioned the slow system they have and how it doesn't ring stuff through all the time, hence the mistakenly entered extra toner cartridge charge. I then asked if she could just start over and issue me a single receipt with just my printer and the specialty paper that made it to my final, take-home purchase. She indicated that the system was acting up so much, it would be too much trouble to do that. I then drove home and looked over my mess of 3 receipts and find that she had NOT taken off the 20% on one of the printer cartridges on my original receipt, so I am still owed another $15. Had to put in a half hour, plus, call to a manager (after waiting forever to get through to a person!), and am still waiting for him to redo the entire transaction and see if he gets it right. Frankly, I am annoyed. I could have bought the same items on Amazon.com FOR THE SAME PRICE without consuming gas and effort to go back and forth THREE times to Staples, then spend 45 minutes on the phone to TRY to get things right. I was just trying to support the brick and mortar stores, instead of always contributing to the online megaliths... my mistake I guess. I would have expected the manager to offer me a gift card or something for customer retention purposes, but haven't heard a sniff of that. Will see if he offers any compensation for my time and trouble when he calls back. So far, very disappointing customer service. Bottom line... if you have to shop at this location--CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! read more

I did not appreciate the hard sell on the warranty. The sales associate went over details and asked if I was interested. I declined respectfully. Store Supervisor then comes over and goes into a 15+ minute speech while I'm at the register about how it is the greatest deal ever, it saved him so much money. It's through square trade and they are amazing. He gives me his story about how he just used it on his laptop and they sent him a gift card and it saved him so much money. Apparently Staples did not get the memo of why people did not like Best Buy circa 2005. I called corporate relations to complain about the hard sell on the warranty. Three (3) Staples employees standing by the cash register is too much while being 'asked' if I wanted to buy a warranty and how I could not buy it tomorrow and had to decide now. I was told it is not policy and he would follow up. There has been no follow up after a week. If you plan to buy technology or anything that could possibly have a warranty go to a different staples unless you want the possibility of being pressured into purchasing a trash warranty. Most electronics come with standard warranties and most credit cards provide protection...FYI read more
