Parking is pretty easy, plenty of spots, not interrupted at all by all of the restaurants, banks, and other businesses in the area. Staples offers a plethora of office supplies, computer equipment, office furniture, backpacks, snacks, etc. There is a wide variety of brand names to choose from and their products come in all kinds of colors, flavors, options, etc. They definitely have a larger selection than some of their competitors and they have other services like ups, copying, etc. There is usually someone walking around checking in on your making sure that you are getting help and answers to all of your questions. Sometimes their pricing is competitive or they have a sale or coupon. Don't forget to join their loyalty club so you get the coupons and discounts, sometimes they are truly good deals like $10 off $10, $5 off $5, $10 off $20, etc. read more

I came in to drop off used batteries. The employee seemed like I was bothering her and taking her away from the screen she was tapping away at when I walked in. the employee said they aren't accepting them anymore until they get "new equipment to store batteries". I asked how long the policy has been like this... "several months" no sign posted about this but they have a sign for "not currently accepting applications". I said I guess I will put them in the trash and it will probably cause a fire... employee didn't care but as I was leaving I stated "you know there's nothing stopping me from leaving my bag of batteries here" and a different employee standing next to the employee I was talking to said without bothering to turn and face me "you go ahead and do that sir" with and attitude and a condescending tone. I didn't leave the batteries, just my flippant comment as I was leaving. Will I ever shop or deal with a Staples store ever again? I have had multiple frustrating experiences here at the service copy department. I've returned hoping the next experience would be better because the location is convenient for me, but every time it takes more time than expected and something is wrong. This time they lost my flash drive. In looking for it they went through a big collection of drives they have forgotten to return to customers & then denied that anyone had called me to tell me they had forgotten to give mine back with my printing project (she said she put my name on it but apparently not). I hadn't noticed at the time because when I went to pick up my project I had to wait 2 hours (after closing) for them to re-run my project because the mistake was so bad I couldn't use it. Melanie should definitely be nominated for employee of the month. I was tight on time and I needed to get some business card as well as postcards completed ASAP because I had a huge presentation scheduled early the following morning. Typically if you don't have your designs in by 2 p.m. you won't receive your material until the next day. Melanie not only was patient, she had customer service by communicating with me to make sure that everything was perfect before print. I finally was able to submit my designs by 6 p.m. and she was able to have them printed and cut in less than 2 hours. Not too long ago did I write a review for Staples in Vista. The comparison is like night and day. So if you are like me and limb kind of in the middle of both locations it would highly recommend Hugo go to the one in Oceanside because all their employees for you when you are walking past them, they're knowledgeable, the stores clean, and the registers work. So will follow up to how amazing this location is, I had to go back the next day because I had made a mistake on one of my business cards. I was able to speak to Haley and with such a friendly voice she asked me to come in with the business cards I purchase last night and they would be able to edit and swap them out at no charge. I got so lucky the other day. I use the Staples in Carlsbad and went in to find all the possibilities to make my printing and lamination project as cheap as possible. RACHEL!! This woman rocks! She was working the Carlsbad store, but usually works the Vista store. I got so lucky. Rachel is the model for customer service. She took her time, she looked at all the coupons, she was creative about how she could help me save as much money as possible and all the time she smiled, laughed with me, and made the experience delightful. You can earn points shopping (redeem for free stuff and if you use the right credit card, you can redeem for free flights, hotels, etc.) 3. You can send things via the United States Post Office without having to go to the actual PO 4. You can send things via UPS Granted there could be some improvements: 1. Faster acknowledgement that another cashier is needed at checkout. Otherwise, it can be a long wait in line. 2. Staff the Copy Center with two people (someone who's a cashier, because all that does it take away from checking out). The Copy Center handles copies, shipping, printing, etc. so it gets busy. There's been some turnover in employees which could explain other reviews. But Staples is "easy" for me. read more

This location offers curbside pickup. I have 4 children, so this usually works in my favor. I ordered an office chair replacement. When I received the email that it was ready, I followed the prompts to pick up my item. When I arrived, I called the store to let them Know I was there. 20 Minutes I sat outside. 20 minutes we watched 4 employees through the window. I called again, was put on hold, and waited some more. Just two days ago, I received outstanding printing support from Luis. His professionalism and great patience were truly noteworthy as he greatly simplified what had been a complex requirement for me. Additionally, while he was the only person in that section at the time, he expeditiously completed my project and concurrently took care of at least six other customers. We have used this place occasionally for our copy needs but this place is so disorganized, their copy center is so poorly manned by inept teenagers we will never go back again for copies or any other office supply needs. We waited in line for 10 minutes to get an order we sent in the day before and they couldn't find it. When they did find it they tried to back peddle for not having it done-Saying that our code expired but the code was good for 48 hours. We are taking our business to fedex from now on. read more

Today I went to this Staples to buy new ink cartridges for my computer's printer. At checkout, I turned in the 2 old cartridges for recycling. I asked the cashier when I would be getting future credit for these cartridges. I mentioned that I had also turned in 5 cartridges about a month ago to the Staples store in Oceanside, and was told that the cartridge total would be cumulative, provided that I purchased $30 in ink from Staples within the next 6 months. Each cartridge is worth $2 in future credit. The cashier answered that I would get credit for the 2 cartridges turned in today within the next 3-4 weeks. I continued questioning when I would get credit for the 5 turned in previously. Fortunately, the manager overheard my conversation with the checker. The manager kindly intervened, and told the checker to honor the 5 cartridges turned into the Oceanside store by deducting $10 from today's total. I appreciated her making good on what I was told by the Staples store in Oceanside. After today, I will patronize this store over the Oceanside store, even though its location is farther away from my residence. I appreciate that this manager showed that she values her store's customers. Thank you! read more

This store is absolutely ridiculous. I came in with my service animal to buy some pens And a stamp. A heavyset woman, Dressed very sloppy came up to me and told me I couldn't have my dog in here. I told her she's a service animal and I showed her her tag. She then followed me around the store pretending to front face. I asked her if she knew anything about the stamps and she didn't. Just harassing me for having my service animal with me. At one point she got on her little radio and said what does it say on the front door about service animals. The sales manager that was conducting this horrible behavior her name is Lindsay. How on earth she's a sales manager I have no idea. Staples must be hurting for employees. Natalie was I not help I was insulted and made to feel that something was wrong with me because I have my service animal. This lady needs to be on the unemployment line she just said be sent back to training and anyone with a service animal that supports people service animals should boycott the Staples store on Vista Village. Her lack of knowledge, common respect and any decency is below the threshold. And when their sale prices didn't pop up on the register a girl with heavy I make up walked by and said just take two dollars off of it. 40% of 679 is $2.71. LINDSEY is just unprofessional, rude and this is what represents Staples Management???? They should be embarrassed. I used to love coming to the this staples. Management never knows how to handles things. Printing is always so hard. They only have one printer and last time a lady with a whole stack of papers more then 30pages would printing one by one. When I asked if they could print it out they said we all must wait till that lady is done with all her printing. The printing employee won't even try to help the other customers. Managers and employees just standing and talking. There was more then 7people waiting for the printing,faxing, and delivery and only one employee standing there. Horrible. read more

I truly believe that the screening process to work at Staples is discriminatory. I have never written a review in my life but I feel this is warranted. I'm a 51 year old woman, retired school teacher, and I applied to Staples on Vista Village Drive. My submission of my application was successful. I went into the store on 4 occasions and talked to the manager, Johnny. He told me he would call me back on 4 separate occasions and NEVER did. He assured me they needed help badly and he looked forward to working with me! I have my masters in education and worked on Wall Street as a broker! I am more than qualified. I was in need of many items for works and Lindsay and Adrian were beyond helpful. Lindsay went above and beyond to see if they had everything in stock I need and some items I had to get online but she helped me with the whole process. I brought in 4 separate Excel document that I needed to be made into spiral binders yesterday. They all contain many tabs with a lot of data so Luke one of the Staples employees quickly told me that he will be able to figure out how to make it all fit into separate binders and still be able to read. I came to pick up today and it was all perfect there was one that had a very very small font and I said can you please try and make it to a little bit bigger font just so I will be able to read it. He immediately went on the computer and started trying different ways of formatting to try to help me solve this issue. Luke was so great and helpful through the whole process as it wasn't an easy job. I will 10 out of 10 come here for all of my printing needs in the future thank you Luke and Danielle! read more

There is a reason why this Staples has a terrible rating. I own a small business and used this Staples all the time, even the customer service is terrible, but today was their last shot. I took in some papers yesterday morning to get laminated and was told it would take a couple of hours. They took my number and said they would call when it was finished. Well 24 hours later I still haven't heard from them. I go in to pick it up and it isn't done! They told me it would be 20 minutes. Unacceptable! I'm running a business that needs to get work done. We called in and requested to have folders held. When we came in the next day to pick them up, we were told that since we didn't pick them up already, they were put back. When I asked for the location of the folders I was given an aisle number to go look. When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to try a different store. So, I can't say as I can recommend the website... they sent me the completely wrong thing, and have the wrong item listed. Adding insult to injury, UPS lost the delivery for a week. Anyhow, letting that go... Staples will allow you to return online disasters at local retail stores, which is convenient enough for me to get resolution. The manager on duty there was apologetic and handled things one day past the return window (due to UPS, etc) without any issues in a safe an courteous manner. I caught him at lunch but was given a place to sit safely isolated from anyone for a few minutes until he got back, During the transaction, I managed to lose track of my credit card on the counter, and walked away without it. Discovered my mistake an hour later, called, and they quickly reassured me they had it. When I arrived, the manager retrieved it from the safe, verified my identity, and saved the day again. Thanks.
