Great service with copy and print. This is always my place to go. Normally in other locations based on their work load, I've been asked to place the order on line. Here they will go out of their way to do the print. Sometimes it's just a blown up copy. I do acknowledge them for that and appreciate the short come around to help. If I could leave negative stars I would. I came in to staples for a business cover for a very important presentation. I had to come back because the first package I purchased almost a week earlier from staples had the pages sticking out farther than the actual cover, no big deal I guess... other than my presentation was the following day... I looked around for about 20 minutes and found one but couldn't find a second one so I asked for help. The girl who "assisted" checked the system and saw that they had had less than 10 in stock. She proceeded to the section and looked around for about a minute and said they didn't have it. She offered me the cover I had previously purchased which did me no good and offered to order it but let me know it would take 2 days which wouldn't work either. She said sorry and walked away. I began frantically looking through the entire section for something that would work and I stumbled on the exact cover she told me they didn't have anymore of... the only problem was that it was ripped. I decided to purchase the ripped one as a last resort if I couldn't make anything else work. I went to the cashier and asked if there was a discount for the ripped cover and she said it would be 10% off, she asked me if I wanted to purchase it and I said I would unless they had another one. She offered to double check and reached someone via radio and asked them if we had anymore of the the style. Who ever she was talking too said something that made the cashier look at me and laugh as she told me they didn't have anymore. Someone else popped up looked at the cover and asked what happened and the cashier replied "they already checked and we don't have anymore". They clearly have no commitment to customer service. They had the audacity to laugh in my face as someone who I couldn't hear clearly mocked and denied my request to double check for something the system said they had multiple of. I would have been very appreciative if someone had just taken another look but apparently that was way too much to ask. read more

I don't know what it is that I don't really like about Staples. I come here to get things that I absolutely need (planners, which I now know I can go to Target for, desk calendars, office supplies, 3-ring binders, business stamps) but I feel like I always leave spending an arm and a leg. Maybe that's all Staples locations; I've only been to this one and one other. Why is everything so expensive?? Over $30 for a paper desk calendar, I'll never understand it. And the phone customer service isn't too hot either. Either way, they usually have what I need so I buy it. I try to just get in and out without poking around too long so I won't find something I "need" and spend my whole paycheck. Location is great though! read more

If I could give a zero I would. I bought a poster in the copy/print center. Started to pay for my poster, the worker leaves without telling us she's leaving and neglected to finish our transaction. We see her at another register helping another customer...We waited 10 mins so she could simply except the payment. Her name was JEN. Another worker helped us finish the transaction. SO RUDE!!! I dread going here. I've come here for school/office supplies and resume printing. The only good thing about this location is that they have what you need. On the other hand, the staff is absolutely HORRIBLE. No one every welcomes you or asks you if you need help finding anything. The guy at the copy center who printed my resumes made me feel stupid when I asked him questions. One of the employees barely mumbled a word to me while he was completing my transaction. About 2 weeks ago Shane at Vista Staples helped me big-time by fixing my iPhone 6 screen quickly and faultlessly. I dropped it off at closing to another employee (I forgot her name) the previous night and was told that hopefully it would be done by the time Staples opened the next morning. I bought a simple office chair from these bozos, the chair out of the box had a bad hydraulic lift and would not stay up. Yes I could return the chair, but for a $100 chair, but after I spend another hour on returning it the actual price of the chair ends up being a lot more than $100. I feel like Staples is a big enough company that if they want to buy stuff from China, great, but at least make sure it works. Its 2016, a hydraulic cylinder should not fail out of the box. read more

I appreciate Staples for many reasons. But let me tell you of the main reason why they get 5-stars. For our wedding, Daryl and I wanted to make a thumb print guestbook (i.e., we had a .psd file with a home drawn image)... we weren't entirely sure of how to handle it, but the guy behind the banner & sign counter recommended using a matte finish rather than glossy material so the prints were absorbed better. Two days later, we got the 18x18 print back, but saw that it was really, REALLY pixelated. On the spot, the lady working that day said, "Not to worry... here's our email. Resend the image with a higher resolution later tonight, and we'll print a new one in the morning. Go ahead and keep this one and let us know if you want to make any changes." As promised, they called us the following morning; the reprint looked amazing, and because they let us keep the irregular print, we were able to test the ink and get a glimpse of how the thumb prints would work. Stand up people with solid pricing. I know this is a big box store, but this is a good reason why Staples is so successful. read more

Silly me, would have saved time writing a review had I known that 2.5 is the best Tom can achieve. I wanted to post the reply I left on the Staples.com site but I'll sum it up here. the copy and paste did not work. Tonight I ran out of ink, My local Staples shows to have the ink I need in stock, I check amazon and I can save $ ordering it there, I call my local store and he states that they will match the price but my wife needs to show him the price on her smart phone, I ask him if we cant do that now to save my wife time, after suggesting he did not have access to Amazon (then somehow found it) he agreed to match the price. Happy that we had come an agreement I asked for his name, Tom he stated, okay and your last name (i asked)? he stated "I don't give it out and its not on my name badge". I'm not going to read into this any more than I should but why would a company not want an employee to revel his last name? read more

Their payment system is terrible. Having to insert paper into the credit card chip system is unacceptable. I engaged with the store manager and he with a snippy attitude stated that it's been replaced four times. He also stated it's been reported to corporate, if they read this Yelp review they should know I'll never come to their store again. All for a $3 pen refill! read more

I like shopping here for my business and school supplies! Unfortunately they dont mail anymore. If they still did , I would be there every week. Please don't bother trying to ship anything at this location. I just stood at the shipping counter and waited for approximately 10 minutes to get help shipping the package I had brought. Finally the guy overseeing the copy area radioed customer service to send a representative. This person came over and had me start to fill out the information in the computer, but informed me that his shift was over and someone else would have to help me. Meanwhile several other customers were helped because I guess they had a simpler request and shipping the box was too challenging. When I picked up my box and said I would have to go to a location that actually ships items the guy said sorry he couldn't help. Seriously, save yourself the grief. read more

Came here to get something laminated, the girls at the front were very nice an courteous. They did a great job.

I brought my computer in to have them look at it and maybe find a way to get it to run a bit faster. Also, to check that my wi fi connection was working correctly. When I dropped it off that Sunday I was told I would get a call on Monday in regards to what they found, thru their diagnostic check, and what could be done. I didn't get a call until Tues but only with questions regarding my wi fi. On Thurs I finally get a call from the tech guy Justin telling me that, verbatim..."We did a PC diagnostic on your computer, went a lot more thoroughly into it & we found that your hard drive is defective it has a disc rebump. It could be repaired for $1000 or we could offer another hard drive that you could purchase & we can install into your computer. As far as, the wi fi system, it seems to be working on our hot spots at the store, so it must be your setting with your hot spot that it doesn't seem to be working for you." I immediately expressed, with controlled anger, that I would be down to pick up my computer & speak to the manager, because my computer was working just fine when I brought it in! There was NOTHING wrong with the hard drive! I will be wanting a complete refund on the money spend for the diagnostic check & wi fi adapter. When I arrived at the store immediately asking for the manager the attending tech guy said "Oh your computer is fine, I had it plugged into a bad electrical outlet. And I figured out what was wrong with your wi fi, it should pick up your hot spot now." I'm thinking, WOW what a miracle! The minute I expressed my anger and demanding my money back & my computer back in the same condition it was in, they miraculously have it working just fine!!! My wi fi is now working and the computer is running faster, everything I took it in to have done. A client of mine had the same thing happen to her at this same Staples. This is a scam they are pulling on people, making up things that need to be done to your computer to force you into spending more money. I will not be spending another dime at this store!!! read more

I came into Staples to return a case of paper that I no longer needed. Janet was a great help and a wonderful woman. On the other hand there was a a rude associate who insisted I must buy a case of paper in order to return my current case of paper. I was so frustrated with the associate, who I believe is named Daymon, that I ended up keeping my case of paper and buying another case. Overall wouldn't recommend this store but I had a blast. Sadly, while I desperately want to shop in my local brick and mortar stores, large corporations such as Staples seem eager to encourage my patronage elsewhere, thru their use of trickery and semantics. Case in point. Went to Staples to purchase a few GoPro accessories (even though they were cheaper on Amazon, and at Walmart, too!). Picked out 4 items, over $100.00, and when it came to price matching, I was told that Staples Police is to only match ONE (1) item, per sale. Now we are not talking about me trying to purchase multiples of the same item, but all different items here. When I expressed my disbelief (Really?????), the manager evidently "graciously" indicated that he would make an exception of this policy for me, this one time. I responded by initially saying I wanted nothing any more, and then decided to simply purchase the one with the largest difference (about $13.00). I left the remaining items unsold, and bought them elsewhere. The funny part was, that the three remaining items were collectively less than $3.00 in additional price matching. It is policies such as these that make me rethink any further purchases at Staples. I think their "price matching" policies are disingenuous at best, and designed to take advantage of customers who are already checking out, banking on the customer sucking up the crappy policy and continuing with their purchase since they are already there. Then the Manager told me they were not that interested in being the cheapest, and reminded me of Circuit City and how they went BK. I shared with the manager that I applauded any business who decides NOT to compete simply on price, but rather on quality and "value", and that as is often the case in business now, unless you have a monopoly on what you are selling.....one needs to decide of they are going to be Walmart or Nordstrom? Clearly, Circuit City failed because the left the "Nordstrom" model, reduced salaries, and replaced well trained, bright, happy, helpful folks with poorly paid, untrained, unhappy ones, in an effort to cut pricing. In my opinion, Staples is heading right there, as well.....and absent anything else, MUST improve their customer interactions, and the quality of their staff, if they have any hope to been seen as being "worth" more than their competitors, online or otherwise. Staples lost a sale, and a customer, over less than $3.00, and the arrogance to try and convince me that price matching simply 1 of my items was enough to full fill the real concept of what a price matching policy is all about. Hopefully, for all of us....customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders, Staples management will stop thinking 1-3 years ahead (the lifespan of a CEO position these days?) and start thinking 20-30 years ahead, and how to build and maintain a loyal customer base not SOLELY on pricing alone. Hope this is helpful, and if more customers call them o this supposed policy, then perhaps they will eliminate it, or better yet, price matching altogether, opting to ACTUALLY SUCCEED in providing such an overall valuable experience that we will all gladly pay what they are asking! read more

Staples has the BEST STAPLERS! I know right, well they gotta live up to the name. Their staplers are unlike other staplers and are so effortless to staple with one easy click. I have tried other brands and it's a world of difference, guess you just gotta try it to know what I'm talking about. Ok so enough with reviewing the Staples brand stapler. This location is decent. I don't have a huge need for office supplies but when I do I usually come here or Walmart. They have much of what your looking for. Their rebates are super easy to submit online. Throughout the year they also often feature items that become free after rebate. Their product warranties are also super easy to register. There very good at honoring the warranties. And call in customer service is excellent. They have great back to school deals with lots of items next to free. There copy center is decent. Customer service is a hit and miss with people filling in for breaks and changing shifts. They're not as expensive as Kinkos. But not as cheap as some of the more local printers like 760 Print in Vista. I use them for quick small jobs or faxing but nothing big or spendy unless maybe I'm outta town and need something done. Had to do that for some posters that I needed printed and foam boarded for a funeral. It was at a different location though. I wish there self serve copiers would take flash drives but they don't, which is how most people are bringing in there documents I'd imagine. The only way to print it yourself is to rent the computer for a few minutes and print from there, which I've done for just a few extra bucks for time on computer. If possible I think it's best to just submit your order on there website so all you have to do is come in and pick it up. Not to bad but the more complicated your order is the more tricky it can be to make sure you order the right thing. I would not use there repair, because that is simply a much more specialty service that should be handled by a trained expert that just does that. I like Staples. in summary I think there good for retail, good for fairly simply copy and print jobs, I would avoid the repair center and definitely get one of there staplers, seriously they are the best, lol! read more

Pitiful! They cant keep stock of items; poorly staffed; always waiting for service; the staff are oblivious, 1 register w/5 people in line is the average. I hope you dont need to request service, then they'll continue to call overhead 2-3 times for someone, somewhere. The latest event was 3 people in line. No other staff around. A clerk comes out of the office to help the "next in line" or so you'd think. Instead he asks the last in line to come to his register, as opposed to next in line. Then the customer asks for stamps, of'course the register is not stocked w/them, nor the other two. Then we await the dreaded call for assistance. Meanwhile the other register is now empty. I head to that register and the staff member walks away. Peeved I return to the original register and continue to await the arrival of the stamps so the prior customer can complete her sale. The mgr arrives w/stamps, sees I'm annoyed and asks me to go to another closed register where she'll help me. I go there and the entire thing is shutdown and offline, the main register. So then we go to another closed register. Then the other cashier informs the mgr there's no receipt paper in that register. Good god. Then she can't find any near the register. In an office supply store! Now the mgr was attempting to handle the situation, but at some point you give in to the fact it's not happening. Meanwhile none of the employees thought it prudent to take care of that issue. I'm done with this store. Every time I go there is an irate customer dealing with the staff or all hits the fan. I'd rather pay twice as much at the local drugstore for items then deal w/the ineptitude here. read more

I came to staples to have some copies made and spiral bound The attendant at copy counter was very nice and took my order an stated it would be about a hour for the work to be completed She stated to me that she or one of the other store personnel would call when done. I thanked her an stated I had some shopping to do and that would work out fine for me One hour and thirty eight minutes later I finished my shopping and returned to the store to check on my order. The attendant behind the copy counter was helping another customer an his associate was helping a customer at mail counter. No one said anything to me as o waited in line to be helped. Eight minutes later when he finished with his customer he said to me that he would be with me in a few minutes and disappeared into back room. Five minutes later he returned and ask how he could help me? I told him I had dropped off some medical paperwork that I ask to be copied and spiral bound, gave him my name and phone number and I told him that the lady that had helped me two hours earlier had said it would be a hour for the work to be completed. He searched behind the counter and everywhere to find my order but could not . He when to employee lounge to find the other lady who helped me to locate my order. He returned a few minutes later and said that the order was not done. I ask him to show me the copies that were made and he found them still in the copy machine , not separated and not in order. I ask him how long before they would be done and he proceeded to tell me that the lady that was helping me would finish them when she finished her lunch. He never offered to take care of it himself or have someone else complete it. This store management needs to understand an schedule completion time is very important to their customers and work on customer satisfaction . I will to probably drive to San Marcos staples or fed c store in the future until their Yelp reviews show a better customer approval rating . read more

Unfortunately this is a really run down store. Oddly enough the two times that I went here for basics they did not have them in stock. Oddly enough one of the times it was index cards for my sons project. I feel like 7-11 even has those stocked. The second item they did not have was a 2016 planner inserts. Keep in mind this was the middle of January. The store has a dingy feel that all other Staples that I have visited don't have.
