I googled glass repair nearby and Star Glass came up showing 4 stars. They gave me an excellent quote on a windshield replacement for my 2003 Saturn and had me in within 2 days. I waited while it was being worked on and went across the street for coffee and an egg sandwich (Very convenient). Before the gentleman finished, I mentioned that my side rear mirrors weren't working. He got out a little dust blower and cleaned them out and they were good as new! There was another gentleman working with him and I mentioned that my car even has a cassette player. He told me he had two boxes of cassettes sitting on top of his refrigerator that had been there for two years because he didn't have anything to play them in. I excitedly told him I would buy them from him and he said, "I'll just run home and get them." (He lived nearby). Yes, another unfortunate event with my car (what's going on, 2020??!!!). A rock flew towards my windshield as I was driving on Cross Island Parkway. I maintained my cool but my heart sank becau$e I know it's gonna cost me money. We called the popular windshield replacement service but they won't be available till the week after. I cannot wait l, I rely on my car for work. Plus, Yelpers didn't have good experiences there. So I could Star and we called them. We tried to schedule for Friday. I was at work when I found out they will close early (4PM) so I begged at work to leave early, only to find out when I got there that they ordered the wrong model. Again, I maintained my cool. Our Stelvio needed the glass replaced. After reading all the positive reviews and getting a good vibe over the phone, my husband and I decided to bring our car here. Neil was friendly, helpful and gave us an appointment right away. Since we have lane assist, blind spot detection and rain sensors attached to the glass we also needed recalibration. The glass was replaced quickly and we are happy with the service. Although the tech to do recal. was out of town, Neil recommended someone we could go to near by who did an excellent job!! We initially called Safelite however they kept quoting us the wrong amount for what we wanted and tried to give us a damaged piece of glass. It was impossible to get someone on the phone to speak to. OMG, cannot begin to tell you how nice my experience was at Star Auto Glass. Went there bc my husbands new pickup got a chunk of glass chipped out of his windshield. I believe it was the owner who told me it would only take about 30 minutes. I was kinda disappointed that it would be done so quick, as I was looking forward to walking up to TJ Maxx, 1/2 mile away. He told me no problem, take your time, and thenhe offered me his car to drive over! I ended up walking, as I needed the steps, but how nice was that?? I was very pleased with the job he did, and I would definitely recommend Star to everyone.
