I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen for almost 3 years now. I am not an easy patient. To date, he has replaced four filling and given me three crowns. I have a low pain tolerance, and I am very anxious when I go to dental appointments. Dr. Nguyen has been very patient and kind with me. I find him to be honest, caring and professional. I appreciate that he uses state of the art equipment and is able to clearly explain what work needs to be done and how he will perform it. I've been going through dental issues for the past 8 years. I had 5 different implants done by 3 different dentists which completely destroyed my bite to the point that it collapsed. I was in misery, having spent a fortune on my teeth and not being able to find the right dentist to fix my issues. A good friend in the dental industry referred me to Dr. Alex, she said if anyone can fix your teeth it's him. His consultation was thorough and you could tell right away he had way more knowledge & technique than the other dentist that worked on me. He suggested what I dreaded but knew I had to do, a full mouth reconstruction! It was a bit overwhelming but I felt very confident that he could do what he said he could do (I was scared at the same time because I already went through 3 dentists). It was a tedious 4+ months but Dr. Alex made me his priority. He wanted to make sure I would not be disappointed. His entire staff is incredible, particularly David who stays late or works past lunch with Dr. Alex to work on me! They made sure I was comfortable and if I was in pain they consoled me. They were like my dental family, since I was there average 4hrs/day, 2times a week. Dr. Alex's fees were very reasonable, especially considering how long I had to be there. They never tried to add on fees either, if he wasn't happy with the lab results, he would make them redo the crowns. He's a man of his word and ultimately, I'm super happy with the results. Dr Nguyen is the most knowledgeable doctor I've ever met. I avoided going to the dentist for about a decade due to traumatic experiences with dentist offices as a child. It took me 2 years to build trust with Dr Nguyen but I was consistent as I can be with my appointments, and truly gave him an honest chance. Dr Nguyen takes so much precious time to explain the cause and effect of what's going on, which made it super easy to build trust. I started coming in 2020 thanks to a referral from my mom. I found such value in my teeth and hygiene after making this doctor my primary dentist, that I keep up with my flossing and brushing and not eating hard things that are just not worth my beautiful teeth. I only have to come every 3-6 months now. I try my best to get a cleaning every 3 months and every 6 months the most! I also loveee investing in Dr Nguyen's deep cleanings! Worth it. He's very detailed and mentors his assistants very well. They're all soooo friendly and make you feel soo welcomed. Also, Trina left it seems, and there's a new person working the front. I did make a second appointment and went in. I wanted dental implant for my lower denture. It caused me so much pain and embarrassment. Dr. Nguyen was fabulous!!' Extremely knowledgeable and the very first visit he reassured me that he could help me. I scheduled my appointment while in spring break. Absolutely amazing!!! Yes, the first few days I was uncomfortable but not in agonizing pain. I went back on the follow up and he did some adjustments and it was ten times better!!! Pros: no pain, no sensitivity, dedicated dentist, very conscientious. Xray is doing at the chair, no need to go other room. Cons: the fee is a bit more expensive than other places. 1. Filling: The dentist Dr Nguyen does it very gently. I was surprise because it doesn't hurt at all. The dentist is always sure that those teeth are completely numb before proceeding. After done, the dentist showed me the pictures of my teeth so I could see before and after. 2. Deep clean: my teeth have a lot of limescale so I have to do a deep clean. The dentist is also dedicated to numbing my teeth before proceeding. The hygienist is very nice, and friendly. After done with the machine, she also clean one more time by hand that makes more clean. After finishing, she also taught me how to properly care and clean my teeth. 3. Root canal: It sounds horrible, but actually NO PAIN at all. During the procedure, the only thing make me uncomfortable is the noise of the machine running. However, the most important thing is NO PAIN. Dr Nguyen does the job very carefully and meticulously. For me, it is hard to find a dentist with a good heart. I love this place and highly recommend to anyone who are scare to go to the dentist like me before. read more

Wow! The doctor is very knowledgeable, he performs surgery and a bone graft on my broken tooth in extraction in 1 hour without pain and I can drive home easily. I was surprised that the surgery go so smoothly. I am now confortable at home comfortable waiting for 2 weeks of removing some stitches. Now the second part of the implant. He explained it very scientifically and logically and I want to do it right away but I have to check out my budget! I hope I can continue with this office. This is my first time and I am so impressed with this dentist graduate from the University, famous Columbia university. I went to starbright dental on April 1st, 2023 hoping to get a partial made in 30 days for my daughter's wedding. Sure enough they're done in 30 days and they look great and I'm very happy with them. I was super nervous the whole week before the procedure but the doctor prescribed me triazolam to take an hour before the procedure and it helped relax me! I have never been so disappointed in a business before. The receptionist Sigrid treated my family member less important, she seemed like she favored the Asian patients and treated them better than us. She was being chatty with the asian patients and ignoring us. She wouldn't even look up at us while she was talking to us. Then when she finally needed to tell us something she shouted across the room out loud so everyone can hear our business. Absolutely no privacy and super unprofessional. We were left shocked by her behavior towards us that we decided to cancel and leave. We are going to be looking for another dentist office, we will not be supporting this business anymore. He is such a perfectionist and will also explain in detail your treatment plan. why it's needed etc. I'm normally super scared of the dentist and had awful teeth . he has healed my teeth and we are in the process of restoring my smile. i have had little to implant procedure done with no complications and little to no pain! i had a bone graft done by a previous dentist and they left me In worse conditions . Dr Nguyen did the same procedure but it actually has improved my gums and I can even see a different to the outside of my face is fuller. i love it. I would not recommend this dental practice. They try to take advantage of you and if I hadn't done my research and gotten a second opinion I might have fallen for it. That is why I am writing this review to warn other people of their manipulative practices. There were several red flags: 1. When I called to schedule the appointment, I asked if I should have my previous dentist's office send in my X-rays and records. He said no that they would do everything there. This is a red flag because how would he be able to track problems or look for changes in my teeth without my previous records? 2. I had my X-rays taken when I arrived but then had to sit in the dentist's chair for 45+ minutes waiting for my cleaning and then when Dr. Nguyen did the cleaning, it was by far the fastest cleaning I've ever had and he didn't even floss! 3. Dr. Nguyen said I had 8 cavities and would need fillings and sealer. He said that my health insurance would only cover the fillings and so I would have to pay $1080 out of pocket for the sealer! After reading other 1 star reviews for this place I noticed that other people complained about this too and that the sealer is actually cosmetic tooth fillers. And like those other reviews Dr. Nguyen would not just do the necessary fillings. I also was very skeptical about this because I go to the dentist every 6 months for routine cleanings except for the past year when my dentist appointment was cancelled due to covid restrictions in March. Also, the teeth that he said had "cavities" I was already aware of and previous dentists have had no concerns and said it was some staining. I got a second opinion on Dr. Nguyen's "treatment plan" and the other dentist said that I had NO CAVITIES. He also said that Dr. Nguyen's plan for doing a SRP (scaling and root planing) was completely unnecessary and invasive since I do not have deep pockets. Furthermore, he noted that $135 per tooth for sealant is outrageous. I have to clarify that Dr. Nguyen was not talking about sealant but sealer, which is again a cosmetic filler. Dr. Nguyen said that "I was too old for sealant" and that was why he wouldn't do that, but instead a sealer. This is a complete lie since the other dentist office I went to said I can get sealant to prevent cavities, I would just have to pay out of pocket since insurance only covers it for children. 4. They charge $25 for a email copy of your xrays. The previous dentist office I went to when I called for a copy of my records they emailed it 5 minutes later and at no charge. I had to call Trina 3 TIMES for her to send me a copy after I had already paid the $25! And not only that, they only gave me partial records and I had to email and call back several times for them to send me the additional pictures. After mistakenly sending me pictures of SOMEONE ELSE'S TEETH, I finally got mine. It is under HIPAA law that you can get a copy of your health records in a timely manner. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place until they learn how to be a trustworthy and honest dentistry office. Thank you. read more

I first went here to get my wisdom teeth removed since they didn't do that at my original dentist i used to go to. From the first time i visited for a wisdom teeth consultation to the second time i came for the wisdom teeth removal - and now, for a follow up to remove the stitches, every experience with Star bright has been nothing short of PHENOMENAL!! The staff is the nicest and friendliest staff I've ever met. The doctor especially is really thoughtful. I had my wisdom teeth removed on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas, he called to make sure i was doing okay taking my medications. I could write a whole lot more on why Star bright is the best dentist place I've ever been to (and I've moved around a lot), but I'll leave it at this: they got me as their customer for life. read more

Doctor Cuong and his whole team really went above and beyond on what they charged for, just to make sure we got nothing but the best. One of my wisdom teeth was a complicated case, it took the doctor a lot extra time to completely take it out. He literally had to remove it little by little and put me back and forth to the X-ray room to insure the whole process is going in the right direction. A lot extra work for him, but no extra charges for me. I do really appreciate the check up callings from the doctor himself about my healing process. Came in for teeth check up. They found a 3 cavities. Front desk receptionist shows my estimate of my owing $600 even though I have insurance. I call insurance they tell me they cover cavities procedures. But dental office is trying to up-sell cosmetic tooth fillers. I tell them I don't want the extras just to fix my teeth with my insurance. They refuse my business and I leave. I went to another dental office down the street the found I had only had 2 cavities and my insurance covered all of it. I hate writing bad reviews and I'm ok with up selling. What I don't like is that they do not give you the choice of saying no. The front desk lady/salesman needs to go or retrained. Thank you. read more
