    Art on wall

Went in on a Friday afternoon, the place was almost empty. The one guy at the counter was friendly. Ordered the turkey pesto sandwich on French baguette. The wait took a while because the baguette wasn't ready yet, so he threw in a free cookie! Super nice. The shop is also an art gallery so I had fun looking at the art on the walls while I waited. And to top it all off, I think it was the best turkey pesto sandwich I've ever had! Next time I'll try one of their delicious looking vegetarian options.

Good sandwiches, weird vibes. The Cubano and Long Beach club were delicious. However it did take about 25 mins to receive our sandwiches. Beyond that the interior is best described as grungy. The art instillation on the walls is a bit unappetizing as it ranges from creepy dolls to the nude female form. I'd recommend calling ahead and getting takeout.

My favorite sandwich shop in town, not just in Benson. They are a little slow to make the sandwiches but usually it's just one person working, so you need to cut them some slack. The Peach and Pork is my fav, but you do need to watch out for the occasional bit of pit in it.

Open sign lit. Door was locked and no one there.

Good food. My girlfriend placed an online order and when we came to pick it up, the restaurant was closed. They should really close their online ordering if they are closed and they should post about when they would be closed.

Great little hole in the wall deli tucked off a busy street in Benson. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches, from traditional to more unusual choices... The shop is small, with a few tables and artwork all over the walls you can purchase. I was slightly surprised to be able to watch them assemble my sandwich in front of me, on a tiny little kitchen counter..Im not convinced that they even have a standard kitchen in this joint? But that's not a big deal-just a little upraised. I ordered the jalapeño poppers grilled cheese. So good! The poppers used super fresh jalapeño and had a nice bit of heat, and the strawberry jam added a sweet element that really complimented the other flavors. I got it on sourdough to add some crunch to it. Prices are not bad, I got the half sandwich and added chips and a can of soda and it came up to around $8. Glad I discovered this place, def recommend if you're a sandwich person but want to branch out a little bit from the usual haunt.

The sandwiches are always so good here. The BLT is especially great! I also had the French onion soup and it's perfect.

I ordered the Hummus Stacked Bowl with Lamb. As soon as you're seated, you're served warm pita bread to start. Each table has olive oil, salt, and pepper available for dipping, which made for a simple but delicious beginning to the meal. The pita was warm, fluffy, and had outstanding texture and flavor. Despite the restaurant being busy during its first few hours of opening, the food arrived surprisingly quickly. The presentation alone was enough to make me hungry, but the aroma of the lamb had me ready to dig in immediately. The hummus, which serves as the foundation of the dish, was silky smooth and velvety when paired with the olive oil. The grilled squash and onions added a wonderful contrast of textures, blending perfectly with the warm ingredients while still maintaining a satisfying bite. Their seasoning was spot on. Bright red cherry tomatoes brought a fresh, vibrant element that tied everything together beautifully. The bowl also came with additional pita and seasoned pita chips, adding even more variety to the meal. Overall, Meddys absolutely exceeded my expectations. For a restaurant that had only been open a few hours, the food, service, and execution were impressive across the board. I was blown away and can't wait to return and work my way through the rest of their beautiful menu.

We came about an hour before close and were seated immediately as the restaurant was not very busy at the time. Our waitress brought over and explained the menu to us. We got a couple of the bottles of teas that they keep in the cooler at the counter. We tried the honey and the green honey - both were good with mild sweetness. At first glance of the menu, it didn't seem like there were many vegetarian options, but our waitress explained that all of the malatang options can be vegetarian because unless stated explicitly, they were made with vegetarian broth. We decided to get a couple orders of the egg rolls for the table and then my husband and I got the hot and sour soup malatang with noodles six vegetables instead of three because we decided to skip the meat and the hibachi mixed vegetables with noodles as well. The egg rolls were delicious - crispy and tasty! The wrappers were a little different than what you normally associate with egg rolls, but I liked it quite a bit. The mixed veggies with noodles was delicious! It was super flavorful, had a nice sauce, and paired great with the noodles. The malatang was fine and plentiful, but I didn't find the broth to have a lot of flavor. Of note, even though it doesn't state on the menu, our waitress told us we could ask for almost any dish to be made spicier. For dessert they only had one option available which was the lime jelly. The jelly itself tasted plain but was in a bowl of a lime flavored juice or syrup that gave it the flavor. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and was actually rather light and refreshing. Overall this was a good experience and I want to come back for more of the mixed vegetables and to try the dry mix malatang because that might be more my speed than the soup!
