I recently took my daughter to this location for a simple regular nail polish service. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Despite choosing a basic option from the menu, the staff displayed an unwelcoming attitude, which made us feel uncomfortable. What was especially upsetting was overhearing staff speaking negatively about our choice right in front of us. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect regardless of the service selected. Additionally, the price--$40 for regular polish--felt quite high given the level of service and overall experience. I've had much better experiences at the Middletown location, so this visit was particularly disappointing. I had a very relaxing pedicure yesterday. I love that you never feel rushed even when you only have time for a classic pedi. I don't always have the pleasure of doing a spa pedi so I know that I still get a well done pedicure. I also like the idea that when you give your email they will send you a reminder when your due for another one plus your able to book online. Eric did my pedi and he was great. Gentle touch and pleasant. Sometimes you can go to others and there speaking there own language to each other and I feel uncomfortable. If I'm paying then I'd rather they pay attention to the client. I'm not complaining all about Star nails just comparing to other experiencing. I have been coming here for years and always had a good experience, went yesterday for a manicure and pedicure and had the worst experience ever. her name was Tiffany and she should not be allowed to work there. started with pedicure where I called out twice due to pain she inflicted. first time was in callous removal where she was pushing so hard it caused severe pain. second time was in cleaning big toe, again too hard and caused a lot of pain. my toe still throbs today. then she stars to remove my gel nail polish with sander and takes off some of the skin on my finger, so now my finger is red and looks infected. the last straw was the extreme pressure in neck massage. she is way way too rough, not relaxing. terrible all around experience. it's too bad for them to lose long term clients over one horrible tech. read more

The first and second times I came here, everything was so great that I abandoned my old nail salon and thought I would never look back. After the last few times, I will never go back to this place. The first of two bad experiences happened when I went in to get a fill and I said in the chair for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. For a simple fill. They were closing the salon around me and looking annoyed that I was still there at 7:15 PM after I had arrived at 5PM. Not to mention, my nails were cut and filed completely wrong and the gel polish chipped the very next day. I decided to give it one more go as I had been with a new tech that I had never seen before. I should have stuck with her, even if a plain gel manicure took six hours. The tech that I had yesterday decided to hand file off my gel polish instead of soak it off as normal. Every single one of my fingers is rubbed raw. They bled in the chair. I was showing him that it hurt and pulling away as he rubbed acetone all over my fresh cuts. My cuticles look like I have 40 paper cuts on each finger and it hurts to even wash my hands, shower, get them wet, etc. NEVER AGAIN. Seriously, stay so far away from this place. I have never encountered such a hack job and I am so mad that I'm writing my first Yelp review. I'm sorry to my salon that I abandoned. Been here before and it was ok. Bunny the technician is great but I don't see her there anymore. They are expensive. Needed toes painted in a pinch. They are not the cleanest around but it isn't filthy and it seems that they clean their tools. I just don't see them wash between people. I usually make an appointment but always see that there are walk-ins they've never seem to turn away a walk-in. I went there tonight about 6:15 they don't close till seven they said they couldn't take me. it was not busy and there was an available technician just sitting there. I'm really disappointed. Scheduled some pedicures and manicures for me and my family from out of town the day before my wedding. They were able to accommodate all of us and we were able to sit next to each other. They do have plastic shields down for Covid but we were still able to be next to each other having services done simultaneously. Everyone seemed happy with their pedicures, and the hot massages afterwards were an unexpected bonus, even if they were a little too hot and the towel was in a plastic bag, presumably for Covid reasons. I also appreciated that they were able to accept tips over Venmo, since I rarely carry cash. They are definitely taking their Covid restrictions very seriously. They even give you a glove to pick out your polish colors. I did appreciate that they had some lower chemical/healthier polishes available, although you will pay extra for them. read more

I almost always come here for manicures & an occasional pedicure. I went online and booked their last appt at 5:30 when they closed at 6. I arrived at 5:31 and went over to pick a color. I kid you not, I was looking at colors for 10 seconds before 3 people came up to to me to rush me along. Two more seconds later, my tech came up to me and said "we close at 6". I said yes I'm aware but I do have an appointment. She left, two seconds later told me to take the color swatches with me to the table so she could start. Okay that's fine I guess but I still felt way too rushed & it felt unprofessional. I had just walked in. But then she started rushing the entire process as if her life was at stake. She didn't do any cuticle work. Barely filed my nails. Quickly painted the gel color on. Did not do the complimentary neck massage. It was the fastest appt I've ever had. Why do they even offer a 5:30 appointment? I guess I should've known better. I'll never come back during this time because they clearly don't care about the service they're giving. I had my pedicure done by Paul. Horrible job. He cut no cuticle looked around the whole time like he was bothered by his job. My feet looked better when I went in there. He didn't paint all the way to the end of the nail so it's looks grow out already. He was smoking in the back of the building so I'm guessing we inconvenienced him by having to work. If I could rate this zero I would. My mom and I decided to go in and give them a try even though they had bad reviews. My mom is disabled and mostly home so I wanted to bring her somewhere closer to home. We got dip polish. For hers, they soaked her old dip without filing off the top first. So after 20 minutes, the girl came back and it wouldn't come off so they had to start over. My guy, didn't speak to me once. After we were dipped, they finished the top of the nail with shellac gel coat. Now I've never had this happen as I get dip to not use uv light. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. The next morning I woke up to a chip. Called them to get the nail redone. Went in that night and it was redone. Once I was out in regular light I saw the whole tip of the nail wasn't painted with the gel coat and is currently flaking off. My moms is the same. Three days later and I have chips and flaking. We called and expressed our displeasure. They offered to redo again but seeing this would be the third time we aren't going to subject ourselves to a third. We asked for our money back and they said no. Awful practice. Also who does a gel coat on top of dip nails? It's not even the service we asked for. Don't go here. Update: spoke to the owner and he apologized profusely, said that is not normal practice (even though three different technicians did the gel) and will refund our money. Overall I'd give the entire experience a 7 because I haven't had my nails done since December! The nails themselves a 3. Clean and quiet when I walked in. Easy appointment booked online. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Got a classic pedi and gel mani. The actual pedicure and foot rubbing were nice but the quality of the actual trimming and painting was just ok. Same with my nails. Tbh I didn't notice really until I out and started looking in the bright light. I wouldn't even say it was rushed or lack of caring. Just lack of experience? Polish on my toes, nails are slightly see through needed another coat, some nails shaped different but polish hides it, didn't paint down to the cuticle... not unpresentable but not a 60$ mani/pedi for sure. read more

Came into the nail salon on MLK day and there was a little bit of a wait. My friend and i both got pedicures. I got the Hot Stone Pedicure and she got the regular. There was a little bit of a wait which was odd because one of the technicians spent the majority of their time on her phone as opposed to taking anyone. Once our technicians were done with their clients they came over to work on us. The woman i got was very short with me when speaking and was a little unfriendly. When working on my cuticles it was pretty standard though i will say my nails were cut extremely short and didn't have a shape in common across all 10. When using the emery board on my toes i noticed it should have been white but was quite dingy... Then it was time for the callus remover. I think she let it sit for too long because... far too much of my skin was removed from my feet leaving them cracked and bleeding by the time i got home. A week later they are still hurting. After this was complete i was supposed to get an exfoliation on my legs which did not happen and then on to the massage. On the menu board it says lavendar oil would be used but instead some Queen Helene lotion and what smelled like olive oil was slathered on my legs and feet. The massage was painful and my feet were being bent in ways that they were not intended to not to mention there was minimal usage of the hot stones. When i told her it was hurting me when she was bending my foot back like that she stopped for a bit then continued which was annoying and painful. All of this ended in having the polish shabbily applied not only to my nail but to the surrounding skin on my toes as well. I'm unsure of why i had to pay $40 for what was essentially the regular pedicure with callus remover? I will most definitely not be back. read more

I had been a couple times for pedicures and was pretty happy with the service. Nothing special but a nice basic pedicure. Both times I had females and they were really nice and did a good job but they both seemed annoyed to be there. The last time I went though, I'd say in early July, was terrible! I had a male who once again seemed extremely annoyed to even be working, huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes. I got a mani pedi this time and after rushing through the pedi he made me bleed twice while trimming the cuticles on my hands and the day after they were flaking and peeling and looked extremely unattractive. I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. My nails were placed in acetone for less than 5 minutes before being scraped. I told the manicurist to let my nails soak for at least 20 minutes as I didn't want them to be scraped. She let them soak for another 2 minutes before scraping again and telling me that scraping was the only way to get the gel off. I told her that I don't want to continue and she charged me $5. I had to pay to get my nails ruined. Her scraping left me with white marks and 75% of the gel still on. I had to finish the removal at home. The gel could have easily began the removal process during my pedicure, which was mediocre, if they were that in a rush. The place wasn't even busy! I don't know what the rush was. This will definitely be the place I get mani/pedis from now on. I stumbled upon this salon by accident as I was driving back to Portsmouth from Seekonk (the non highway route thank you very much). I'm so glad I did because this place meets my personal gold standard: clean, well-kept establishment; well done pedi; and... Amazing neck massages while your nails dry!!! I would go back just for this; it was incredible. Seriously, the nail tech had magic hands. As a bonus, this salon does gel pedis, which I'm finding is not the case at all salons. As a bonus, they have wi-fi so you can work, browse, etc. Just ask for the password. That said, you should probably just enjoy your treatment and not be "plugged in"- I am one of those people who can't just sit and relax. My only complaint was the cost; however, I recognize that this may be the going rate here in my new hometown area. I can't compare the price to other local salons, only to those in the town I recently moved from. To be fair, the cost wasn't unreasonable, only about $5-10 higher than what I'm used to paying. $60 for a gel mani and regular pedi is pricey, especially when the experience is terrible. Hong was the person doing my nails and I do NOT recommend her. I told her I wanted the shape of my toes square. Unfortunately I wasn't looking at what she was doing and when I saw them finished (painted) they were all different shapes, rounded, and uneven. On top of that the white polish looked streaky. When we moved to the manicure table I told her I that I didn't like the shape she did on my toes. I told her that I wanted my fingers to be squared and I would check them along the way. Each time she would show me the nail it would not be square. I had been to the Middletown location quite a few times for mani/pedi's and have always been satisfied. However, I happened to be here a little before closing time on a Friday night and got to witness their cleaning ritual. Well this alone made me want to add a review for the Bristol location. Since the 2 locations have the same people who work at them, I am assuming the operations are the same for both. Let me tell you, they literally scrubbed the whole place from floor to ceiling. They cleaned down all of the manicure stations, moved them all to one side of the room so they could do a proper floor washing. They soaked all of the tools in barbicide, and generally not a spot went unscrubbed, vacuumed or disinfected. I always thought it was impeccably clean to begin with but sometimes looks can be deceiving. Not here, it's the real thing. The staff are super super friendly (even if there can be a language barrier at times) the place is crazy clean, and I really dig the Asian version of Lite 105 that they play. My only gripe is that I'm a little nervous the employees may not be compensated as well as they deserve..... PS recently had waxing (lip/brow) done here and was very pleased with the results. The prices are way cheaper than the big name salons too. read more

I came here today and got a basic pedicure with black polish. My nail tech did a great job! If black isn't done professionally it looks as if you colored your nails with black sharpie. That did not happen here, my nails came out great! This place is clean and professional and overall a great atmosphere. Great massage chairs too. Best place to go for a quick manicure, pedicure as far as this "walk in" types of places go. Very clean and they go a great job. They offer a hot towel neck massage as part of a standard service and while most people seem to enjoy them I'm not comfortable with someone who isn't trained in massage pounding on my back so skip that part! Really lovely place, but they are very pricey. Acrylic fill with gel polish cost $50 vs other places where it costs $28 or $32. And they do acrylics weirdly. They place a glue substance and then shake powder on your nail. This is not how most places do acrylics. Last time I went they also had a lack of gel colors. So you didn't have many options. I decided to give this location a try as I had already been to the location in Middletown RI. I have to say that I was very happy with my decision. The staff is better and the service is amazing. The receptionist is awesome and she's very polite and always is helpful in helping me pick different colors for my powder dip. Its a lot closer to my house and I was happier at this location than I was at the one in Middletown. Bristol is way better. I love the way my nails look and the salon itself is very open, bright, and welcoming. I even got a hand massage with a hand scrub and hot towel that was awesome and unexpected. They also gave me a neck massage which I did not recieve at the other location. Overall very happy and will continue to go to Bristol instead. read more

Salon is clean. Had a gel fill and it hardly lasted two weeks, I've had gels forever and ALWAYS get at least three weeks out of a fill. Pedicure chipped and actually fell off some toes, after a week and a half. Receptionist was very nice but it's very hard to communicate exactly what you want to nail technicians due to language barrier. I think they failed to wipe the lotion off the nails before they put the polish on, which is why it didn't last, plus only did one coat. I called to see if we could just get our toes repainted and was told that she needed to speak with the owner and that he had just had surgery and she wasn't sure when he would be back in..... Nail salons are expensive and there are lots of salons around, I shall find another. read more

I came here out of necessity because I needed a Pre-vacay pedi. Waited for 5 min then was seated in a pedi-chair with freezing cold blue water. I asked the English speaking American receptionist if I could have hot water as my technician had yet to appear. She added more then quickly shut it off, not even asking if that was sufficient. Are they saving $ this way? Finally once Tom came over to begin, he started flipping my feet around like chicken cutlets on a grill. This nail salon is so clean. They use great polish, ESSIE &OPI and have over 100 colors to choose from. They give a paraffin treatment with nail treatments, even if you're just getting a fill. They give a neck and hand massage with heated towels. I love it, I have had Sophie and Kenny do my nails and both do a beautiful job. read more
