One technician took the time to help an older customer understand what was going on with her car before she left. He also assisted another customer in Spanish when she was having trouble communicating in English, and you could tell he made her feel comfortable and understood. I also had the chance to meet Matt, the owner. Based on my first visit, Wrench Works seems like a great shop with a team that genuinely cares about its customers. I'm looking forward to having more work done on my car here.

Doesn't upcharge and doesn't pussyfoot or dance around. Gives me a clear explanation of what's happening with my engine. He also makes sure to let me know how to prevent future issues, when possible. This is a trusty neighborhood mechanic & he's worth trusting with your repairs, especially if you're driving an older model vehicle.

I have been in the Vacaville area now for 3 years, used 4 shops and although in the beginning I thought I had found "the one" only to have been sorely disappointed, taken advantage of and then ultimately pissed off beyond words. The shops these days are more into taking everything they can get out of you with absolutely no concern for word of mouth or future revenue. I guess they have little regard for their ability to keep repeat customers so they figure "get it all now". Well, I'm here to say that I think I may have found the shop that will from now on be doing the servicing of my vehicles. I found CME Smog & Auto Repair courteous of Google, called them, went to see them and was very impressed with the way that I was initially treated, the cost of the work that was done on my 1996 GMC 4X4, and then ultimately the results of that work. The cost was more than fair, the timing was perfect and the attitude of the guys was over and above the typical mechanics that are out to screw you. As such, I felt pretty good about taking my mothers 2005 Dodge Magnum in for some semi major work. The prices were more than fair, the timeline was perfect and again the attitude of Kerry and Shawn was priceless... So, are you looking for a shop to take care of your vehicles? My experience was completely unacceptable…read more I brought my vehicle to CME Smog & Auto Repair in Vacaville for a repair that required the removal and reinstallation of my front bumper, which is documented on my invoice. Before dropping it off, I had taken photos of its condition. There was already a thin scratch along the panel edge, but when I picked it up, I immediately noticed that the damage in that exact area had become significantly worse. The thin scratch had become a much larger gouge with more exposed material. I have before-and-after photos documenting the difference. I calmly brought my concerns to Dave, expecting him to inspect the vehicle and have a professional conversation. Instead, he got in my face, yelled at me, repeatedly denied any responsibility, and refused to acknowledge the obvious difference shown in my photos. I was shocked by how I was treated. No customer should be intimidated for asking legitimate questions about the condition of their own vehicle. I understand that mistakes can happen during repairs. What I cannot accept is the complete lack of professionalism and respect that followed. Rather than trying to resolve the issue, Dave chose to become confrontational and dismissive. along with one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I have before-and-after photos and my repair invoice documenting that the bumper was removed and reinstalled during the repair. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. If you decide to bring your vehicle here, photograph every inch of your vehicle before handing over your keys.

I forgot the name of the person who answered the phone when I called, but he was really nice and helpful. He told me they can do a walk in since they are not busy, so I was there about 20 minutes after the call. When I checked in, I was greeted quickly and was quoted a wait time of about 1 hour 30 min. I was fine with this knowing I did not have an appointment. The person who helped me in person was also really nice. I'm sorry I forgot everyone's names. But all the workers I saw were nice and provided great service to customers who were there and those who walked in. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for my tire rotation, which was a lot quicker than quoted. In total, I think I was here for about 30-40 minutes only. Great quick service, considering my past with other America's tires back in Sacramento.

My husband brought in his truck to replace a sensor and wiring harness. We came and picked up the truck after and it was fine for less than two weeks and the check engine light came on again. We had the truck inspected by a master tech from the dealer. NOTHING had been done. They told us the wiring harness was replaced. The truck had the same wiring harness as when we brought it in. Not even touched. Luckily our bill was only around $500. When we called in to tell them this they asked us to bring it in and that they would make it right. I spoke to Roger and Diane at the front desk. Roger said he needed to verify and inspect that himself because he didn't agree. My husband went in and they gave him back his money and said they said they didn't care if we wrote a negative review or about all the others that are blasted all over their pages. I'm reporting this to the better business bureau, the attorney general, and the department of consumer affairs. This has happened not just to our family but also other people that have posted here as well and it needs to stop. Jim Dandy transmission needs to be held accountable.

I want to give a big shout out to Tim and Tom.. I was out of there in 45 minutes with the good news nothing wrong with my transmission however, I need a new fuel filter and r driver side bearing is making a loud whining noise. I didn't know where it was from. They were very quick and honest, and I felt very secure in my transaction, I would give them a five star and recommend them.

I was expecting he come back to me to take accountability and then go back to address the issue. But, I felt like they wanted to quickly dodge the issue. Today, I went in to get my car service for an oil change and I asked for a small discount which they easily honored. However, my dad told me there was a summer special so when I went back to pick up, I had asked about it. The service advisor said, the service was already complete and coupons need to be shown up front. The tone of this conversation was a "tough luck" vibe. I asked he couldn't even let me know what specials are available and he said there's too many coupons to be aware of. I'm so triggered by the fact that I'm a loyal customer and I believe service advisors are aware of these specials to pass along. To have the excuse and say there's too many coupons to be aware of is complete BS when you know you have many services in a day. Despite the 10% discount, I paid more than the special price which also included more services. I can't believe what this world has come to. This location is after every penny especially when they just put up the sign about coupons needing to be presented when the service order is placed.

I have to say the experience I had with Star Tech was the best I've ever had with any kind of car shop. I was on my way back to Boise to get ready for the college year and my S40 Volvo had a severe radiator leak. I was able to get it towed to them and they were amazingly pleasant the minute I stepped in the door. They were able to look at it first thing though they were busy and find out the problem quite easily. (Partially because I had work done the day before, replacing the oil cooler hose, which turned out to be the problem.) The good news was that it was easy to fix, the hose had rubbed against a part in the drive line and caused a hole. The bad news was that the part, though just a tube, was a special order part. Claire Westhaver, the owner and office manager, called a supplier in Sacramento and had them bring out the hose. My mother and I had a long wait, but I have never felt so welcome. They gave us the hospitality that a family member would offer, and I couldn't have been happier. It was the most positive experience of such a negative day. I had an exceptional experience with Star Tech European. I brought in my Honda, which is not European-made, for a brake inspection. Prior to my visit, I had heard great things about their reputation for honesty and fairness. Joe accommodated me a day earlier than my scheduled appointment and efficiently resolved the issue within a few hours. He diagnosed that a brake fluid flush was necessary to resolve the problem, without any attempt to upsell unnecessary services, demonstrating commendable transparency. Their pricing is very reasonable. Additionally, I requested an assessment of my air conditioning system due to ongoing issues. They provided a detailed estimate and generously refilled my Freon at no additional cost. I am thoroughly impressed with their service and intend to return for future automotive needs. I just went to Star Tech European for a problem with my 2000 ML 430. I must say that they exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, Claire greeted me and my two girls and made us feel at home. The staff then completed the work (new battery was bad...it was not the alternator). The best part was that they told me that they would be able to work on my car while I waited and they had pre-ordered the part. In the end, they were professional, nice, CLEAN and went above and beyond what was expected. I must say that I used to go to Motoring Specialist in Vacaville for my BMW and Mercedes needs up until recently. Just a thought, they quoted me a service fee to just check the battery and then the quote was 80.00 dollars more than Star Tech European. I normally don't write reviews, just read them and say I will. This time, I thought they should be commended and recognized for their service. read more

I've had a terrific relationship with Star Tech and its owners for a while now, and it's because they know what they're doing, are honest, friendly people and have earned my trust many times over. I've had my wife's Mini Cooper, my Chevy Suburban, and most recently an early 70's 911 worked there and all repairs have been great, fairly priced and offered with more detailed explanations and advice than I could have asked for. Don and Claire are wonderfully friendly and knowledgable owners and Don will gladly get into the weeds with you on the most obscure details of your Porsche. As any Porsche owner will confess, having a mechanic you can trust is a huge asset in owning one of these fun cars. My wife and I gladly recommend Star Tech for care, maintenance and repair of your European or any make of automobile. read more

The best european car shop in Vacaville! This place is great, friendly and educated staff looking to fix the your problem and not sell you the all the extras the dealerships like to add on. They found my oil leak that no other body shop could find. The leak diagnosed at another auto body shop said everything but the oil was leaking and it would cost me $2500.
