So much yes! I can't remember what I was craving that lead me here but I'm glad. I went late one night after a movie, and if you've never been before it looks kinda sketch in the dark. Can't speak to the daytime. It was on the slower side when I walked in, Sabastian was quick to greet me and hand me a menu. I LOVE a staff that knows the menu, and Sabastian is just that! I was looking at the chicharrones, he recommended the vegan ones! Said the rice paper was a nice treat. I took his recommendation and he didn't steer me wrong! I never in my life thought I'd be eating vegan chicharrones, but I keep getting up for the surprises life has to offer. Speaking of surprises, Sabastian turned me on to adding bitters to my sparkling water! Never had it that way, it's something I'll absolutely repeat. I had a few of them that night. I did a pork belly skewer. This was my least favourite thing. The pork was a bit tough/overcooked and the peanut sauce was more on the coconut side. I also did the wings. Jamaican and lemon pepper. The lemon pepper was solid, I don't do jerk but got half for woman. She said they were entirely too spicy. The adobo plate was a star! As you can probably imagine, I was starting to be full so I took it to go. Sabastian told me to overcook the meat a bit when I reheat it so the fat renders. Epic tip! It heated up wonderfully, I had some homemade peanut sauce that accompanied the dish nicely. It's pretty dark inside but has a total kitschy tiki vibe. The music was awesome! I meant to ask Sabastian if it was his playlist. It seems to be a place a lot of locals frequent. People came in that knew Sabastian and there was that Cheers feel. There are few places in vegas better bang for the buck. This is a hidden gem and for many locals they would like see it stay that way. Really cool nautical themed decor is everywhere giving a cool vintage vibe. Staff is always nice and fun. The crazy thing about this spot that some might consider a "dive bar" is the food. It's so much better than it should be. The steak skewers and lumpia were off the charts and cheap as hell. We sat had a couple drinks, a snack and just enjoyed the day. If you time it you will meet local industry people that will ensure you know the good and the bad of vegas. So come say hi to the real vegas and you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Starboard Tack had been around since 1971 and recently upgraded food and drink menu made it a place for me to want to come to. Deep menu of Filipino cuisine and fusion dishes along with some classic dishes. Ordered the pork adobo fries, the starboard cheeseburger with fries, the corned beef Ruben with fries and the chicken katsu tenders with fries. Needless to say we had a ton of food but wanted to give multiple items a go. You order with the friendly bartender and he will bring you the food. The place is retro with upgraded sound and TVs. Just a warning about them closing for maintenance. I called at 7:57 a.m. this morning to ask if we needed reservations if we were arriving around 9:30-10 a.m. and to confirm they their kitchen was open for the full menu. All seemed well. We arrived at 9:40 a.m. to see a sign outside that they were closed for maintenence from 9-10 a.m. It was a little annoying, but we walked to 7-11 to kill time. We returned and walked in at 10:01 a.m. to be told that they were going to be closed until 10:30 a.m., likely 10:45 a.m. So, we just ate ~$40 for the Uber round trip due to poor communication. read more

Hunter is a fabulous bartender! She's SO NICE, attentive and has great recommendations! The food here is incredible! The drinks are really balanced and well thought out (tiki bar) and the ambiance is wonderful! Feels upscale but still has the local bar vibe that's comfortable and unpretentious! When I first drove up to this place by myself, I wasn't sure I should go in or not, since there wasn't much to the outside and I hadn't really been in this neighborhood before. I decided to trust the reviews and not worry about the facade. It was dark and colorful and thankfully not full of smokers at this time. I'm still not used to the fact that so many places allow smoking. There are, unfortunately, the video game consoles all over the bar, which is apparently a thing here also. I don't particularly like them because they don't leave much room for food or drinks, so I decided to go sit at a table once the bartender told me I could. I checked out the menu and decided that I would go for the oysters, since that was what I was looking for in the first place. I also ordered the poke bowl and a steak skewer. FOOD: Alright so, I'm just going to say it...some of these oysters were TINY. And oysters do not have a tiny price point either. I don't even know what kind of oysters they were or where they came from. To give credit, they were tasty and seemed to be fresh and I'm pretty sure the price on the bill was reduced by a dollar or two from what I remember seeing on the menu. Maybe they felt bad. I took a photo of TWO oysters next to a lemon wedge for scale. The poke bowl was fresh and pretty good but after a while I got sick of eating it, as I think they were a little heavy handed with the soy sauce. The steak skewers were not really to my liking. The marinade was way too sweet for me and the meat a bit tough. I probably won't order those again. All in all, I had decent service for there only being a bartender and no servers and I could see this being a good spot to meet up with friends for a drink. I didn't have any drinks this time but if someone invited me out to be social, I might try this place again. read more

Place is great. We had good bar tenders before. But they recently hired someone who is very unpleasant to customers. I hope owner reads this and fire her. She makes everyone unpcomfortable and leave unhappy. She express prefers to get the place close and yet get paid without working. Refuse to serve on tables and prefers to talk to her boyfriend only. I won't be back unless I hear that she is fired. She can improve herself somewhere else. She is not good for customers not is she good for your business. She claimed she was trained this way. We came here as a recommendation from my coworker, who always comes here. She stated that the food was delicious and so we absolutely had to try it out. It did not disappoint. Every item on the menu is so flavorful!! we couldn't decide what to get so we got a little bit of everything. We ordered the jerk chicken wings, the oysters which 10 out of 10 my fave, the adobo fries(best adobo I've had), the Thai chili dog, which was very good! Nothing out of everything that we purchased was bad the bartenders were all super friendly and super nice and very efficient and fast whenever our cups would empty they were quick with it. The overall vibe is very hipster/dive bar but very welcoming! It's a small little place, but has a lot of of personality and a lot of of great people to have conversation conversations with! I stopped by Starboard Tack because it's been on my list of Tiki themed places to check out in Vegas. It was the middle of the day on a Tuesday and to my excitement it's Taco Tuesday here! The bartender was very friendly and welcomed us right away, we grab a seat at the bar and looked over the menu. She guided us in picking our poison. I was feeling in a light crisp mood so I went for the Starboard Taquiri and my hubby always goes for the old fashioned type drink and she assured him he would like the Cold Buttered Rum so that was that and we had to order the Tacos. There was a customer sitting at the end of the bar that saw us deciding and had to share her love for the tacos, so how could we not oblige?! The vibe in the place, I would describe as, dive bar meets sunken ship; which is right up our alley. There's plenty of seating at the long bar as well as tables around. They have TVs for sport fans and some good beers on draft. The bartender made our drinks with obvious love, the garnishes and presentation were beautiful and the taste was exactly what we were looking for. The tacos were delicious, we got ground beef and they are made on a crispy fluffy tortilla almost like a wonton consistency but lighter (and better) not too greasy at all. Overall, experience was great and we will back, their food menu is impressive so you can make it back multiple times and still have plenty of choices. read more

The first time I came here, I was invited by some friends for some drinks. I didn't know what to expect when I drove up and didn't see that many cars in the lot (it was around 5:00 PM). I walked into a dark room, with a pretty long bar and several specials on the wall. I met up with my friends and ordered a draft beer. At this point, this place was just like any other dive bar I've frequently over the years. What really changed my opinion was checking out the food menu. After a few drinks, I got hungry and asked the bartender about food. He handed me the menu, and I was shocked about the offerings. Yes, there's the standard bar fare (hamburgers, wings), but the options went beyond dive bar. There were several different Asian offerings, including Thai style meat skewers, a Hawaiian Loco Moco, Filipino Lumpia (egg rolls), and Kimchi Fried Rice. Everything we ordered was delicious, blowing my mind on how fresh everything tasted. While I don't have the chance to stop by too often, as it's a little far out of the way from where I work, when I do stop by, I always come hungry, as I've never had a bad meal here. read more

This Vegas hideaway is located within the heart of the valley and is a perfect place for late night food and drinks! Their menu is impressive! It is just south of east Sahara, kind of near some auto dealerships. The place is a little like a time capsule too on the inside. Really cool decor. Hard to fully explain, kind of 60s-70s, kind of nautical, kind of modern. The drinks are delicious and they have a full bar so you can get whatever you want but I'd recommend trying the drink menu and/or rums. Incredible rum selection. Okay, I came in at around midnight searching for food and if you're like me, you walk in and think "wtf am I thinking? It's just a bar". And if you're like me, you're wrong. Yeas, it's a bar but they also serve really, REALLY awesome food. There's seating to the left of a bar that resembles a small section of a restaurant. We ordered or food from the bar and the bartenders were already super nice. The food came out hot, fresh, and carefully prepared. I know the place looks a bit dingy but everything that came to our table was very clean. I ordered the fish and chip. I received a huge chunk of fish. It was so moist and tender. Well, this was the third stop on a day of drinking tiki cocktails and I am not going to lie, this was NOT what I was expecting, but it was still awesome. We came here to celebrate Devoid Magazine's nautically queer release party and the entire staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I've never experienced a dive bar with such a unique twist of flavors on their menu, with tastes drawing inspiration from Jamaica to the Philippines - their food was damn near phenomenal. We inhaled their pork skewers & veggie lumpia as soon as they hit the table!
