Heads about maintenance on a Monday morning.
    Michael V.

Just a warning about them closing for maintenance. I called at 7:57 a.m. this morning to ask if we needed reservations if we were arriving around 9:30-10 a.m. and to confirm they their kitchen was open for the full menu. All seemed well. We arrived at 9:40 a.m. to see a sign outside that they were closed for maintenence from 9-10 a.m. It was a little annoying, but we walked to 7-11 to kill time. We returned and walked in at 10:01 a.m. to be told that they were going to be closed until 10:30 a.m., likely 10:45 a.m. So, we just ate ~$40 for the Uber round trip due to poor communication.

The food and drinks were great, and the bartender was killing it. Music was slightly too loud, it was hard to hear the person next to you.

My brother loves this place and I found myself in the area. The bartender was great, she kept checking on me and made sure I was doing ok. I ordered a couple of beers and followed by a manhattan. Great drink, and it hit the spot. The loco moco was good, the gravy had a unique taste that threw me off a bit. Overall though it was a good bowl and I am interested in trying something else.

Atomic something I can't remember the name of cocktail... it was delicious though!

Hunter is a fabulous bartender! She's SO NICE, attentive and has great recommendations! The food here is incredible! The drinks are really balanced and well thought out (tiki bar) and the ambiance is wonderful! Feels upscale but still has the local bar vibe that's comfortable and unpretentious! I definitely recommend the crab Rangoon dip, king pao Brussels, and here's a Taco Tuesday tip: order 4 and you get a free shot of reposado (for however long that promotion lasts)!

This is such a sweet spot to end a night out. They're open 24/7 and serve AWESOME FOOD with no cutoff time. I ordered the Chicken Katsu and my friend ordered the fish n chips after 2 AM! Joey was the bartender and was easy to talk to and order anything off the menu. He came with recommendations and an easy conversation. I'm going to try and make this place my cheers everytime I visit Vegas!

Cool dive bar vibe, lots of men here! The service is outstanding! Chantelle is my server and she's top tier! Thank you for making me feel welcomed! This drink, Purple Rain is delicious, highly recommended. I ordered the fried chicken fried rice and veggie lumpia. Wow!!!! Incredible!!! A definite must try!!! Can't wait to return!

When I first drove up to this place by myself, I wasn't sure I should go in or not, since there wasn't much to the outside and I hadn't really been in this neighborhood before. I decided to trust the reviews and not worry about the facade. It was dark and colorful and thankfully not full of smokers at this time. I'm still not used to the fact that so many places allow smoking. There are, unfortunately, the video game consoles all over the bar, which is apparently a thing here also. I don't particularly like them because they don't leave much room for food or drinks, so I decided to go sit at a table once the bartender told me I could. I checked out the menu and decided that I would go for the oysters, since that was what I was looking for in the first place. I also ordered the poke bowl and a steak skewer. FOOD: Alright so, I'm just going to say it...some of these oysters were TINY. And oysters do not have a tiny price point either. I don't even know what kind of oysters they were or where they came from. To give credit, they were tasty and seemed to be fresh and I'm pretty sure the price on the bill was reduced by a dollar or two from what I remember seeing on the menu. Maybe they felt bad. I took a photo of TWO oysters next to a lemon wedge for scale. The poke bowl was fresh and pretty good but after a while I got sick of eating it, as I think they were a little heavy handed with the soy sauce. The steak skewers were not really to my liking. The marinade was way too sweet for me and the meat a bit tough. I probably won't order those again. All in all, I had decent service for there only being a bartender and no servers and I could see this being a good spot to meet up with friends for a drink. I didn't have any drinks this time but if someone invited me out to be social, I might try this place again.

I've been here a few times for their drinks, food, and atmosphere and they have never disappointed. Their oysters are one of my favorites. and their beef skewers are absolutely delicious! Bartenders are quick and friendly.

Fun place to try with friends

We came here as a recommendation from my coworker, who always comes here. She stated that the food was delicious and so we absolutely had to try it out. It did not disappoint. Every item on the menu is so flavorful!! we couldn't decide what to get so we got a little bit of everything. We ordered the jerk chicken wings, the oysters which 10 out of 10 my fave, the adobo fries(best adobo I've had), the Thai chili dog, which was very good! Nothing out of everything that we purchased was bad the bartenders were all super friendly and super nice and very efficient and fast whenever our cups would empty they were quick with it. The overall vibe is very hipster/dive bar but very welcoming! It's a small little place, but has a lot of of personality and a lot of of great people to have conversation conversations with! Will be coming back soon

    Alanah N.

I love starboard! My first time trying their food the adobo fries were just okay. The meat was very very fatty. I wouldn't get them again but I want to come back and try more! I love the plate very pretty especially for a dive bar lol

Fun and well thought out drink menu. Asian and island fusion food. It's a different bar menu but I love that. Tiki decor. It is dark inside and a little bit warm but it's a non corporate drive bar and those always get my business. Tables and bar area.

We were seated at the bar and had a nice time interacting with the cocktail craftsman/man in charge, Davey. The menu is his creative brainchild and changes a few times a year, with the current one based on the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. There's a 90 minute limit and 2 drink minimum per guest. Because of the craft and attention to detail that goes into each cocktail, we finished our 2 drinks just about right at the 90 minute mark. I really enjoyed both of my cocktails but the one that stood out to me the most was Strange Medicine. It was reminiscent of a martini but with Brie-washed Old Bison vodka, Cocchi Americano, and herb oil. It was so good that I wasn't sure what drink to choose next, but Davey was helpful with a great recommendation for another cocktail served with a chunk of parmesan cheese on top. Keep in mind that you're paying for the experience and the level of craft. So with a 2 drink minimum it won't be a cheap experience but it's definitely something worth checking out for the unique, creative cocktails.

Pro: Fear and Loathing menu, updated furniture, yummy drinks…read more Con: Not the previous Laundry Room you remembered, glorified tourist trap, lack of atmosphere control. Slow drink service. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.
