Irish Mule
Henry M.

Oak & Ivy is my go‑to spot whenever I want a really well‑made drink. It's a small place, but it's full of character-the selection is broad, and the bartenders are true pros, knowledgeable and always ready to mix something new. My favorite is their Irish Mule with the in‑house ginger beer. Honestly, I've never had another Irish Mule that tastes like theirs-it's unique and perfectly balanced. What I love is that they're always open to creating new drinks based on what you're in the mood for, which makes every visit feel special. Located at Container Park in downtown Las Vegas on Fremont, it's the kind of spot where we always end up having a great time. The ambiance and the drinks make it worth coming back again and again.

Looking for a fun bar and good drinks whilst enjoying Container Park on Fremont Street? Look no further than Oak & Ivy. Jonathan G was our bartender and made about 6 drinks for our group, shaking flair and all. Reasonably priced for downtown and a good variety of unique signature beverages to choose from on the menu. Small bar area but plenty of seating outside. The Ritual signature cocktail was tasty and got the night started. Worth a visit and drink when you visit Container Park!

History of Present Jndulgence: Came here with the boys for a bachelor party got some midday drinks. Physical Exam: Drinks - Great bar in construction park with a HUGE selection of whiskeys including some rare bottles hard to find elsewhere. Cocktails are fantastic and I would recommend the Infinity Old Fashioned and the Between the Sheets. Prices are affordable, especially during happy hour. Ambiance - You got an outdoor deck with some mist fans to help with the heat and indoors has a nice, cozy, woody feel to it. Service - fantastic and only thing I didn't get to do was order the $30 cocktail that's limited to 1 a person that apparently comes with a story and takes a long time to make. Assessment: An absolute hidden gem in a city filled with endless entertainment. They got whiskeys I've literally never seen anywhere else. Love the vibe, love the people, love the cocktails. Plan: - Would recommend to anyone traveling to Vegas as a place to stop for good drinks - Order the $30 limit to 1 per guest drink next time - Try some more whiskeys

Apple Pie Harvest

Saw a video of their Apple Pie Harvest on Instagram and wanted to give it a try. Located in the Container Park, the area around it has a lot of character, uniqueness, and activity. Stepping up to Oak & Ivy, there's a bunch of relaxing outdoor tables with a few seats available at the indoor bar. Not sure if they sometimes have a server that goes around, but it was only order at the bar while we were there. As I said, really wanted to try their Apple Pie Harvest. I'm not the biggest fan of bourbon, but this drink was delicious and well-done. They prepare the apple pie slice in front of you, which is fun to watch. Only downside of the drink is the $30 price tag. All of their other cocktails are between $15-$17. Was the little show of preparing the apple slice and then the taste of the apple slice really worth the extra $13? Probably not. Was it worth it for the one time to try it? Yes it was. Plenty of other drinks available. Bar can definitely back up. It wasn't busy at all while we were there, but it took about 15 minutes to get to the front of the line. So just be aware. Great stop for an afternoon drink in the sun!

I cannot rave enough about this place. Every single time we go, it's truly an experience. The bartenders/mixologists are honestly hands down some of the top ones I have ever encountered. I love going into a place and asking them to just make whatever and it never disappoints here. Of course I can't go and not get their Apple Pie Harvest, which is sweet but oh so tasty. The inside is small, seats maybe 10 people but luckily I've never had a problem getting a seat inside. I like to be up close and see them at work! There's a really nice outside patio, that on a nice day, is perfect to sit and enjoy the area. This is a place that whenever my husband and I go, we always think we are going to start here and move on after a drink but we always end up literally spending our whole time here because it never disappoints!

Unopened entrance at the time of opening!

Imagine waking from Freemint street in the summer heat and arriving 10 minutes early. You wait for the restaurant to open, see staff and are never acknowledged. The guy sees us sitting on the patio no greeting no acknowledgement just continue with opening after the opening time. Needless to say we leave and take our business elsewhere. Was looking forward to some whiskey but not with poor customer service e!!

Oak and Ivy prides themselves with the Apple Pie Harvest, which we of course decided to get. When we went for post-dinner drinks around 8pm Friday, there was no wait but the bar was full (8 seats). Nonetheless, we opted to order for dine-in as the worst case is to just sit at the outside patio and it was good weather. Drink was made immediately, and it took about 3 minutes to make the whole drink. They were nice and aware that we wanted to take videos so they made the drink in front of us. It is pretty cool to see them torch the apple, soaking it with sugar and booze. The drink was served with what seems like a fireball shot to drop to your tongue so you may notice a change in flavor of the caramelized apple. The drink is somewhat strong. Outside of the presentation and bartending, it was absolutely not worth $30 before tax/tip. Still cool to check off the bucket list

Jonathan is the best bartender! Took the time to ask what I like & make me a custom cocktail. It's one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The ambiance is great. Small but homey

Fantastic selection of whiskey/whisky. They have extensive selection of whiskey, mostly bourbon. Although their scotch selection might be limited, BUT their selections are TOP-NOTCH bottles. Not many whiskey/whisky bars stock Springbank, Longrow and GlenAllachie. IYKYK!

Mama tried. Mezcal based drink with hot sauce and chamoy.

I've been here several times. This time, I was solo and it wasn't raining, so I sat outside. There are QR menus on the tables and the bartender delivered directly to me. I was curious about how he'd do that since the inside is tiny and crowded. Secret entrance, he said The drink was excellent, as always. Decent playlist outside.

Which drinks do they smoke or have that presentation of smoke? Anything not whiskey?

Can you get the cocktails to go while you walk around?

Within the Container Park. None come in, none go out.

Anyone know if they will be open Christmas Day (2018)?

Thank you for reaching out. The container park is closed for Christmas and we will be opening back up on Wednesday at 11am.

But over the last year, I have discovered I like the taste of whiskey! Call it age....call it a more advanced palate....whatever you call it....mama likes! I never want to do things without educating myself, so what is a lady to do? Go to a class of course! Seriously....if I could have taken these classes in college....I would have been class Valedictorian! First of all JD was so accommodating, we had a change in our schedule and he came in on an unscheduled night so we could have the class before leaving early the next morning. The Whiskey Attic is located about a 10 minute drive off the strip in a quiet more industrial area. I like to point these things out because I like to know what to expect when driving to unknown areas. We took an Uber and it was easy to get a car to and from the location. JD greeted us at the door and right away we picked up on his brilliance about everything from sports, history and Whiskey of course! Because we were the only two there for this course it was a nice date night but honestly this would have been fun to do as a party, business ice breaker, or just something different. We did the introduction course, and not only did we learn about whiskey but wines, beers, anything you could want to know. And because The Whiskey Attic isn't trying to sell you product, you get to learn about all varieties, countries, and regions without being pushed to a particular brand. JD walked us through how to taste whiskey and how to drink it! After our class, JD asked us a series of questions and chose a selection of 6 brands he though we would like (the place is beautifully full of whiskey and JD knows where every bottle is) and we commenced tasting his selections! He nailed my tastes down to a tee and I enjoyed every one of the sample! We definitely want to go to the more advanced class next time we are in Las Vegas. I feel much more confident about ordering whiskey when I am out and about knowing what I like because of this class! Loved meeting JD and am looking forward to our next visit!

But let's get straight to the issue- the HOSPITALITY! I don't like being negative- I want local businesses to thrive and reach more people, but I need to add this bit of criticism- Lately, coming here feels like you're rolling the dice- and going out to eat and being treated well shouldn't have to feel like a gamble. When I dine here, I don't feel welcome. The bartenders make it clear that they cater to some regulars more than others. It takes the bartender half an hour to get us started with drinks and a menu to look at the food. It's crazy- I come here so often know some of this establishment's staff by name now and yet, I'm met with this recent disservice- The other night I arrive here with my girlfriend to grab some food around 1 am. I see the bartender, Ryan, zooming around, refilling beer and shots, going in and out of the kitchen. It's not that busy of a Friday night- maybe a handful of couples and groups all sitting at the bar. He passed SEVERAL times by me, no acknowledgement, no "Hey, bear with me, I'll be right with ya." 1:30. He finally comes to us apologizing, gets us started on drinks and hands us the menu. We take a couple of minutes to decide. He stands around by the Pos and talks to another bartender (Andrew I think?), who came from the kitchen, then immediately left. Another 10-15 minutes pass. By this point, I was wondering if I should just walk out. Finally, Ryan comes to take our orders. Typically, a server or bartender leads the conversation, right? I'm sure you hear things like "what can I get started for you," or "how would you like your eggs cooked" or "how would you like your Steak cooked" - You've all heard those before, right? Well- nothing. No cue. No asking anything. It felt awkward. Uncomfortable. Unwelcoming. I don't even know if he was paying attention. At one point, it was ME who was the one asking my girlfriend "How do you want your eggs cooked?" when she asked to get the Steak and Eggs because there was ZERO response coming from our bartender to anything we said. The energy felt COMPLETELY off, so I just asked then and there for the check and left off to grab some Cane's instead. An absolutely dismal experience. I don't like making my reviews about me, but I felt like I needed to explain exactly why I'm upset about my recent visits here so anyone reading this can better understand instead of just reading a vague mention of how rude the staff was. Let's get to the Good Bar Bites I recommend if you do come here (maybe day time could give you a different experience): WSKY Burger- I recommend a medium on the patty! Very juicy- the crunch of the onion rings and candied bacon- One of my favorite burgers! Steakhouse sliders- tasty and sharable mini burgers! Although- I need some clarification- Can modifications be made to this dish? One day, while ordering over the phone, a bartender named Zach told me I cannot add an extra slider (I wanted 4 sliders instead of just the 3 that come on the order), I'd have to purchase two whole orders if I wanted more. What's this about? I've never had that issue before, so just curious. Flatbread Pizza- of course pizza is always awesome to munch on. The crunch on the flatbread is so satisfying I honestly don't think I'll be coming here anytime soon. It sucks. The bar looks beautiful, the food is delicious. But why have I been treated like an outsider lately? It's not worth going to a place, even if it has good food, if you're not going to be treated well.

TLDR: all it takes is one employee to ruin a supposed premier experience, expensive prices don't…read morehelp it either Well if your a cigar person you always hear about the "high end" lounges in Vegas. So when in Rome (Caesars Palace, pun intended) you try it out. Now I was expecting some high prices but good gravy it's expensive in here! And knowing what prices are outside of here (we not talking high end sticks) the markup is insane (ex: padron 2000 sells for 14-16 back home it's 65 DOLLARS here!!!!!!) So I find a couple of sticks I can stomach the price and after ringing out with the guy there that's where the customer service took a nose dive. On top of everything else it's kinda tight in here and while my best friend was trying to find somewhere for us to sit I was getting the sticks. I meet him at and he's telling me about all these reserved plaques for all of these open seats nobody is around. So while we're trying to figure it out this waitress shows up and he tells her we're trying to find a seat. Her only response was how many in your party. I explain to her about some seats right next to where we were standing: then she raises her voice and says the same thing: how many in your party. I say 2, she starts looking around not even motioning us to follow her but we assumed and we sit at these chairs. Now she leaves, again not saying anything to us and I notice there wasn't an ashtray at our table but there was one right next to us that nobody was sitting at. It's pretty common at a lounge to grab an ashtray if needed so as I'm grabbing it and putting it on our table here she comes with a ashtray and flatly says "honey you gonna have some patience" as she's sits the tray down and I put it back over. Now my best friend is getting hip to the attitude we're getting as she says I'll get you guys a drink menu.....I'm like I'm trying to figure out what we did to get this attitude. She comes back, takes our orders and somewhat promptly brings our drinks to us. Now my back is to the wall so I can see her going to everyone around us taking their orders and slightly cutting her eyes at us. She only came back once to ask if we wanted anything which at that point we said we're good. So a while later we're looking for her to come around so we can get the check, again she's floating around everywhere else to which I had to flag her down for our check, paid and got out of there. Ironically, we walk over to Paris Casino and they had a Montecristo Lounge there too: spacious got instantly greeted, same high prices but totally different vibe there. So whenever I'm back we'll give it a try

The club itself had a cool vibe with eclectic decor, moody colors and a long dark wood bar. As I walked in, I was anticipating the evening ahead. I specifically choose a night that had a live music offering. As for the music, the set up started at 6. Not the music itself. It was closer to 6:45 before the musicians started. The singer did have a nice voice. The AGM helped us with our drink selection. I'd love to share what I had but there are strict rules on no photos and I can't remember the name of the drink I had. The food was a fail. We had the tuna in a can was good. The accompanying bread was tasty however it's pricey for what you're getting. The chips and onion dip. Well let's just say that we must have gotten the bottom of the bag that was turned and dumped onto the plate with small broken pieces. I think this was $18. Fail. The dress code on the website says it's strictly enforced. The email reminder about our reservation also called out the dress code. While I always enjoy dressing up it's extremely irritating when the establishment then lets in others in shorts, t shirts and trainers. Really? Then folks, including those who worked there, were just standing around and talking which drowned out the singer. The summary of the story. Skip The Doberman. For the money and experience there are so many other choices in Vegas to choose from. Oh. And no pictures because we respected the ask unlike others.
