But over the last year, I have discovered I like the taste of whiskey! Call it age....call it a more advanced palate....whatever you call it....mama likes! I never want to do things without educating myself, so what is a lady to do? Go to a class of course! Seriously....if I could have taken these classes in college....I would have been class Valedictorian! First of all JD was so accommodating, we had a change in our schedule and he came in on an unscheduled night so we could have the class before leaving early the next morning. The Whiskey Attic is located about a 10 minute drive off the strip in a quiet more industrial area. I like to point these things out because I like to know what to expect when driving to unknown areas. We took an Uber and it was easy to get a car to and from the location. JD greeted us at the door and right away we picked up on his brilliance about everything from sports, history and Whiskey of course! Because we were the only two there for this course it was a nice date night but honestly this would have been fun to do as a party, business ice breaker, or just something different. We did the introduction course, and not only did we learn about whiskey but wines, beers, anything you could want to know. And because The Whiskey Attic isn't trying to sell you product, you get to learn about all varieties, countries, and regions without being pushed to a particular brand. JD walked us through how to taste whiskey and how to drink it! After our class, JD asked us a series of questions and chose a selection of 6 brands he though we would like (the place is beautifully full of whiskey and JD knows where every bottle is) and we commenced tasting his selections! He nailed my tastes down to a tee and I enjoyed every one of the sample! We definitely want to go to the more advanced class next time we are in Las Vegas. But let's get straight to the issue- the HOSPITALITY! I don't like being negative- I want local businesses to thrive and reach more people, but I need to add this bit of criticism- Lately, coming here feels like you're rolling the dice- and going out to eat and being treated well shouldn't have to feel like a gamble. When I dine here, I don't feel welcome. The bartenders make it clear that they cater to some regulars more than others. It takes the bartender half an hour to get us started with drinks and a menu to look at the food. It's crazy- I come here so often know some of this establishment's staff by name now and yet, I'm met with this recent disservice- The other night I arrive here with my girlfriend to grab some food around 1 am. I see the bartender, Ryan, zooming around, refilling beer and shots, going in and out of the kitchen. It's not that busy of a Friday night- maybe a handful of couples and groups all sitting at the bar. He passed SEVERAL times by me, no acknowledgement, no "Hey, bear with me, I'll be right with ya." 1:30. He finally comes to us apologizing, gets us started on drinks and hands us the menu. We take a couple of minutes to decide. He stands around by the Pos and talks to another bartender (Andrew I think?), who came from the kitchen, then immediately left. Another 10-15 minutes pass. By this point, I was wondering if I should just walk out. Finally, Ryan comes to take our orders. Typically, a server or bartender leads the conversation, right? I'm sure you hear things like "what can I get started for you," or "how would you like your eggs cooked" or "how would you like your Steak cooked" - You've all heard those before, right? Well- nothing. No cue. No asking anything. It felt awkward. Uncomfortable. Unwelcoming. I don't even know if he was paying attention. At one point, it was ME who was the one asking my girlfriend "How do you want your eggs cooked?" when she asked to get the Steak and Eggs because there was ZERO response coming from our bartender to anything we said. The energy felt COMPLETELY off, so I just asked then and there for the check and left off to grab some Cane's instead. An absolutely dismal experience. I don't like making my reviews about me, but I felt like I needed to explain exactly why I'm upset about my recent visits here so anyone reading this can better understand instead of just reading a vague mention of how rude the staff was. Let's get to the Good Bar Bites I recommend if you do come here (maybe day time could give you a different experience): WSKY Burger- I recommend a medium on the patty! Very juicy- the crunch of the onion rings and candied bacon- One of my favorite burgers! Steakhouse sliders- tasty and sharable mini burgers! Although- I need some clarification- Can modifications be made to this dish? One day, while ordering over the phone, a bartender named Zach told me I cannot add an extra slider (I wanted 4 sliders instead of just the 3 that come on the order), I'd have to purchase two whole orders if I wanted more. What's this about? I've never had that issue before, so just curious. Flatbread Pizza- of course pizza is always awesome to munch on. The crunch on the flatbread is so satisfying I honestly don't think I'll be coming here anytime soon. It sucks. The bar looks beautiful, the food is delicious. But why have I been treated like an outsider lately? It's not worth going to a place, even if it has good food, if you're not going to be treated well.

The energy was upbeat, and the place was already packed and buzzing even as early as 9 PM. My only real complaint was that the music was incredibly loud. It is turned up so high that you absolutely cannot have a conversation with anyone in there without screaming, which is something to keep in mind if you're looking to chat. Overall, it is a great entertainment place with a fantastic vibe. If you want a lively spot on the Strip with great music, this is definitely worth checking out!

We almost gave up to back to ski lodge but decided to not be quitters....so glad we stayed. Love the decor. It was loud (not a biggie) so we got some great ol fashioneds at the bar, then inched our way to center dance floor where we didn't stop dancing to the band til 1 pm when they stopped.....we had so much fun, we (and others) wanted them to keep playing. I had initially avoided the Doberman when it opened up, Corner Bar Management had spent 2 years of all of their resources to open up this new place off Fremont. Personally I was shocked with the amount of marketing fund being pumped into DDR on all social media while Commonwealth sits empty and Laundry Room was crumbling from quick fixes. The first visit to DDR was due the remodel of Laundry Room Jan 2026, I am usually in Vegas for 5 to 6 days for CES and LR was the nightly drinking hole for friends, clients, and vendors. Luck would have it, Andrew, a previous bartender from LR was at the door, now the front of the house. He introduced me to the bar manager, Steven, an absolutely brilliant master of mixologist. He doesn't get fazed by requests, even if his young sly smiles may betray the kind words out of his mouth, a term from the nursing community would say, he is not judging, he is assessing. Whatever I could think about in my drinking recipe arsenal, Steven could do on the fly with what DDR have in stock... which is quite a bit. There is never a bit of hesitation and non necessarily motion, just sheer efficiency balanced with understanding of the ingrediencies at hand. The seasonal milk wash were a triumph, whiskey tasting came with water droplets (haven't seen this since Tokyo), flaming flare with the snack book, and just generally a happy group of people working together in unison. Decor is dark, gloomy, and filled with luxuries, yet there there are some fun distortions to the painting. Membership program are available for bottles, special events, and private room usage. Specialty event line up with music, magic, and performances are quite the norm for DDR, so it could be a quiet night of drinking with a low crowd of 20 patrons to hundreds of people dancing away with a DJ under the massive chandler. This is my place to drink now while in Vegas, where I use to send people all over the world to visit the Laundry Room, it's now the Doberman Drawing Room after the absolute vibe collapse of Laundry Room post remodel. The constant menu change are a delight, the staff are full of talent and knowledge, and kind of a surprise with every visit. Bravo, a star is born, from the ashes of Laundry comes Doberman.
