Love love love this location. Convenient because I live right up the hill, I can easily find a stall and come in to order. Keep in mind they do get busy in the morning but they are so welcoming and accomadating. How can you not get coffee? I usually order my "usual", and I love that the barista is so mindful to remember my order. Thank you Starbucks Waimalu!! This location is a great example of excellent customer service. I went in today for my daily coffee fix after grocery shopping. I forgot my phone at home but didn't want to go back home to grab it. This is how I usually pay for my coffee on the app. I was helped by their friendly barista Kelsey who was so patient as I tried to pay with my card. Technology is not my friend some days tries to mess with my feelings haha and today was one of them ugh. As I tried to get past the tip screen the system kept freezing. I did try to input a tip but it kept freezing. As a line formed behind me I tried to hand her my card to process. Without hesitation she spoke with her manager came back and took care of my order! Worst experience at this Starbucks location. They should be lucky I didn't give less stars. The time i came to this Starbucks was during lunch hour time. Surprisingly, there was not a long line. I was able to order my tevana green tea iced drink in less than 5 mins. My drink came out in 6 to 7 mins. Kinda of wished it was sweetened lil more. It tasted bland. What made my time here real horrible. There was a little male kid running around and screaming and yelling out too loud. I felt the parents weren't disciplining their child appropriate and being too easy going with the boy. Made my time studying on my material very irritating and literally made me want to go up to the family to tell them to keep the noise down. Being the type of girl who doesn't want to start drama and put more fire in, I shut my mouth and remind myself that there is an invisible wall between me and that family. You don't hear any screaming, yelling, and laughing sounds, kept trying to tell myself that as I was studying and eating some thai vegetable rolls purchased from the food counter. On the positive note, that family finally left a half hr after I was sitting at the table across from them eating and studying. Got a peaceful study environment, patience pays off in the end. I am sure they recognized that it was getting frustrating and disturbed the other customers sitting down at the tables next to them. This Starbucks locations has plenty of seating and tables. Whenever I come to the Pearl city location next to Walmart, there is never any seating available SUCKS!!!!! . Located in the waimalu shopping plaza by City Mill and Safeway. Plenty of parking shared with the other businesses. Store is a good size, clean and organized. Snack section is well stocked. Greeted with a smile, friendly workers. Service is fast, in and out. My drink wasn't the greatest. Ordered the caramel latte and it tasted watered down? Went to many other starbucks and didn't taste like this at all. Overall rating is average. Coming back, I understand perfection is not everyday. read more

I just want to dedicate this updated review to Jaymen... YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER! I had a really bad sore throat and needed something to soothe it before heading to work. I made a mobile order of my usual Hot Grande Vanilla Soy Latte, but then realized that tea would be better for my throat. When I walked in, I asked Jaymen if he had any tea recommendations for a sore throat. He recommended the Honey Citrus Mint Tea. And YAS! It hit every part of tea that is recommended for a sore throat. It's got the hot tea, honey and the citrus part to soothe your throat. Thank you Jaymen, you really saved my life and made me going to work sick more tolerable. He even allowed me to return my vanilla soy latte, no fuss! Thank you so so so much! read more

But they take long making orders even when ordering ahead on the mobile app. This is the second time that my order wasn't ready by the estimated pick up time... recently I ordered a vanilla shaken espresso but after waiting an extra 5 mins (for an order I made 10 mins ago via the app), wasn't even shaken so I went back in for a straw. I love that the employees of this Starbucks are so dog friendly! One girl went out of her way on her break to bring my pup a pupaccino! All the workers are so Friendly no matter what time of day it is. I work night and morning shifts at a hospital so I've encountered them at all different times and the service is always great! This is definitely a go to place for studying. The only down side to this Starbucks is the smokers! They do not follow the 20 ft away from the building rule so the outside smells like smoke but other than that it's over all a good place! read more

2 problems with this place: 1) My bf found a fly at the bottom of his drink. 2) I saw a scone that had a bite mark at the edge of it (no joke, it had teeth marks). So I brought it to a worker's attention. He looked at me and said "No, it's not" and continued on w/ what he was doing. Unfortunately, the service here is the worst when compared to the other area Starbucks. Staff don't greet you, and treat you like you're an interruption to their other tasks. This is a large Starbucks with good parking. The cleanliness of the establishment is lacking. There floors look like they haven't been scrubbed for months. A friend of mine saw a little bug crawling up her arm and smashed it. It looked like a bedbug because she had multiple bites and it was engourged with blood. There is a large homeless population that frequents the location and they even allow them to sit in the establishment without purchasing anything. Currently it is 6:43 pm and they close the bathroom for 1 hour because of the so called chemicals they use. Don't you think a place like Starbucks would remember that their patrons are human and need to use the toilet. Moreover, the bathroom is rarely maintained throughout the day and is pretty disgusting. Maybe if you maintained the restroom and took pride in what you did management your employees wouldn't be so anxious to go home. It's 6:52 pm and you don't have any pastry to sell. read more

I ordered through through the mobile ap at 7:52... my drink came out at 8:07... that's l kinda long... While I sat thee waited for my drink I noticed there were numerous mistakes... First customers drink was supposed to be in a venti cup... Second customers drink also was supposed to be in a venti cup... Third customers oat meal did not come with the set up as he asked the barista he mentioned it ALWAYS comes, but the barista told him he had to put it in through the app... The fourth customer ordered a drink with 3 shots but her coffee said 5 shots and she mentioned that 5 shots was too much. My coffee came out too sweet as well it was not made correctly... I am a frequent Starbucks customer throughout the Pearl city/Aiea area. This particular location is another one of my frequent stops before going into Safeway or next door to Pancakes and Waffles (their coffee is not that great). I am a huge fan of the new Starbucks mobile ordering app. I love ordering in advance and avoiding the long lines. The lines at this shop aren't as bad as the Pearlridge locations, but I still enjoy ordering from my phone and getting the bonus stars. This store has lots of tables. There are big tables for families and even the small tables with the tall bar stools. Music is pleasant and so is the staff. My order was made wrong a few times, and it was remade and I got to keep both drinks. Plenty of parking outside, even when the motorcycle gangs "hog" the parking lot on Sunday mornings. Sometimes I will park at Safeway and walk here and go back to do grocery shopping. Store is clean and convenient. Thumbs up!! read more

Normally I am a big supporter of small businesses and locally owned coffee shops, but I do make an exception every morning for this Starbucks. The staff here are very friendly and very efficient. The lines are never very long and they always move fast. I go every morning on my way to school and I have never had my order missed up and I have never seen any one else complain. Buying coffee every morning can add up and get pricey. There have been a few times that I have contemplated making my own, but there is something about walking in every morning and being greeted, by name, with friendly, happy, faces that make it worth it. They really take the time to treat all of the customers excellently and I have noticed they call all of the regulars by first name. The beverages and the food are standard Starbucks, but in the two weeks we've been in Pearl City visiting our family, the bathroom has been blocked off each and every time we have been at this store. All staff openly and easily use the restroom but it is blocked off to all customers and for an older adult this is an impossible situation. we reached out and contacted the state of Hawaii department of health, who said there is no obligation for a business to offer bathroom services. But for those who would like to wash their hands or prepare in any other way before or after eating it is necessary. We have relocated our business to the Starbucks at Pearlridge mall. I witnessed the manager having the staff switch duties so that they don't experience burn out or maybe to ensure everyone rotates and gets the opportunity and experience every aspect of the job. Because of the morning staff I am giving them 2 stars. I would give this place a 4 if JUST for the morning staff but unfortunately the Afternoon staff along with Night staff make it terrible. This is my millionth time coming here Unfortunately my check-in times do not show it on the fact that I have been MIA from the yelping world for a while due to moving and life. You know how it goes. So I feel like because I come here so often, I would have a pretty good idea on how this place runs. Best information key points that I can give you: Customer Service: Come anywhere from 4:30am-2pm if you are looking for quality Customer Service. Customer service here is amazing in the mornings probably because customers are getting their morning coffee and ready to cut anyone's head off that rub them the wrong way. So they need someone nice and that can make their java mocha latte drug addicting coffee as fast as humanly possible. Iv'e been here at all times of the day and the worst has to be night crew. I was second in line and it took them 20 minutes to make my simple tea. By the time I was driving home I realized that they also made it wrong. Forgot the steamed lemonade. So I paid extra and waited until I grew grey hairs for the wrong drink. Friendliness also diminishes. Mornings: Friendly, Afternoon: Grouchy and rushed and finally Night: Slow and confused... Drinks: This pretty much also goes along with the same as customer service Mornings: They get your order right. Afternoon: Get your order right but they make it terribly. Either to watery, to much ice or not enough ice, fill the coffee only 75% of the way without asking for room for coffee or sugar, or frappes that taste flavorless. Nights: Your drink is never correct, or same situation as Afternoon drinks. Nights are not even worth coming in. Interior cleanliness: This is pretty standard all times of days. They can be messy in the most discreet ways thats not including the bathroom. I grabbed a bag of chips from the stand of food and liquid syrup spilled on most of them and other food containers the had. I have come in and been the first customer at 4:30am am and there was a McDonald's bag full of trash under one of the tables. Obviously from the night before but why didn't any of the workers clean that up from the closing shift. And as for the bathroom? DISGUSTING! They never refill the toilet paper, the floor is always covered with muddy footprints and trash scattered on the ground. There was a receipt on the ground that read 9:14am and I found it at 4:38pm. I know they have associates that go use the restroom so they should DEFINITELY have noticed the disaster they just never seem to care. The homeless people/ drug addicts problem: There are WAY to many homeless people and druggies that hang around this Starbucks, especially in the Afternoons and Evenings. The have a pass code for the bathroom probably for this reason, yet they still end up finding out the password by buying something or asking customers using the restroom before them. They never hang out outside the Starbucks. Probably due to the fact that there is a small police station a couple doors down in the strip mall. They buy stuff and stare at people and go back and forth into the bathroom to do drugs or other odd things. I'm so disappointed at my current visit since there is a man that has been going in and out of the bathroom and just hanging out by the bathroom without a Starbucks purchase for the almost 2 hours that I have been here. All the is carrying is a bag, tablet and a McDonald's cup that he eventually left on the ground. He was here before I got to the Starbucks so who knows how long he'd been here prior. Which makes me wonder why the employees don't care to ask him to leave. They never ask customers to leave even if they are acting weird or not even having bought anything from here. I am probably going to call or make a report to Starbucks company about this because it's a constant on going problem. And they have video cameras so I know they can go back and check. Customers: This Starbucks is ALWAYS full of customers! Probably because there are so many group tables and outlets for plugging in laptops and chargers. I don't think I have ever been here when there wasn't constant customers other then 10 minutes right before they close. If you are alone and an attractive lady be warned a lot of the guys that come in here, especially construction workers, will be staring at you A LOT. I don't think of myself as overly attractive which makes me think that most of these guys will just hit on any girl with a pair of legs. But besides raging hormones from men, most people keep to themselves and their groups. Parking: They have their own side parking which always seems to be full and it's a 3 hour parking time vs endless hours in the rest of the strip mall parking. Wifi: Yes and free homie. read more

I've been a Starbucks customer for as long as I remember and I travel quite often so every Starbucks is the same to me. Quick story: I picked up my coffee from the stand and reached over for a stopper, but somehow manage to knockover my coffee and spilt some. I felt so bad, but they checked on me cause I always get an extra hot, and I was fine. The coffee was a Venti so I was still okay with what I had, left and took it with me...went to sit and study. Just as I got settled in, they brought over a whole new Venti coffee to me (yet I'm the one that caused the trouble)! Now I deleted my yelp account years ago, but this was worth the revive because I work in customer service too so I know how they probably felt. The server, Jamin (not sure if that is how you spell it) was helpful and even suggested a particular Tea. I will get the name later...its a blended tea with citrus something. They were friendly and helpful when I asked about the best drink for my tastes. They made a caramel brule perfectly for me (wasn't too sweet). After saying I was working on Christmas presents for a couple hours, they changed the music to Christmas for me! Overall friendly and attentive. Soon becoming my favorite Starbucks location. Yesterday they forgot my bagel and I've decided to come back today to let them know and they seemed like I was lying, but I said it's ok it's fine but they gave me a bagel anyway. They seemed to be nice and keep their cool but at the same time I felt like they didn't wanna serve me. I'm hoping they ran out of hot cup holders or whatever those are called because they didn't give me one. and thy shud have put my pastries in one bag. Compared to yesterday.
