I'm not gonna lie I typically don't review on Starbucks, but this was a bit crazy and I had to put out a review. First, I pre-order my drink went to go grab my drink. I'll say 10 minutes later and it still was not done. The worst part is that there were three people working and only one older lady making all the drinks while too young kids were talking and chatting and not doing much that's very frustrating to leave one person doing everything and not helping. As someone who has gone to many a Starbucks locations the world, I really thought I had seen it all at SB... but boy was I wrong. This SB really lowers the bar for me. I'm NYC-tough, but this is essentially the story of how a Starbuck's barista almost made me cry in the middle of a crowded mall, in the middle of Upstate NY. Starbucks is likely one of the busiest coffee/fast food chains out there, but they are still a chain. I go expecting there to be a crowd, I expect my drinks to take more time, I might even expect the counters to be a bit messy with spilled drinks. But I expect consistency as they train all their baristas with the same materials. I learned to place my order in the app if I wanted my order (and name) to be made correctly. Since the app's release, my orders are almost always consistent - a key reason why I keep returning to the franchise. I'm going to flat out say that this location offered the worst tasting drink, as well as the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Starbucks. I'm a very short 5'0 - this makes almost every counter experience difficult, but never so much so as it was at this Starbucks. I stood there for seemingly forever before I was able to flag someone down (or maybe they just got used to ignoring customers?). It's extremely frustrating and embarrassing to stand there repeating, 'excuse me' while being actively ignored (two of the baristas definitely heard and ignored me, not so much as a "hold on" or "can you wait a few minutes"). When I finally got someone's attention (when they finally decided to answer me), they were extremely rude about it - as if I was severely inconveniencing them by asking a question about my order. How dare I, a paying customer, have a question about an item I paid for. And how dare I ask such a stupid question - the barista was just short of rolling their eyes at me. She then didn't acknowledge anything I just said, and walked away. I stood there calling after them like an idiot, not know if they were going to address my request. I don't think any coffee shop, or any chain/franchise for that matter, has ever had a staff that talked to me with such irritation and mean attitude. It was kind of humiliating and very upsetting. After standing around waiting for the barista to respond for three minutes, I just walked out of there. Never again with this location. The drink I received tasted nothing like the same drink I have received at many other Starbucks locations. I'm sure there will be people rolling their eyes at this comment, but for those who know me, you know how heavy this comment is. I am a beverage SNOB, I know my drinks. I have spent a lifetime serving and consuming tea, coffee, and alcohol; and my standards for a chain are not very high - but SB has a fairly hight consistency rate because their drinks are extremely formulaic. Bah, this was such a long rant just to say, I was the most dissappointed I've ever been in a SB at this location. I'd rather get burnt diner coffee over this place anyway, as most diners have lovely waitstaff. read more

This is for their service. I ordered thru app just a grande pike and the app said get it on the pickup counter. I was waiting and waiting. I asked the guy making the drink and he said they got my order. Finally went to the counter and ask again there and lo and behold they javent made it it is just sticking in that area. I told the guy i was waiting for it forever. And he is not apologetic he said i shoudl have asked again! First who told you to stick it there and not make it! Second it should have been made and put it in the pickup counter! Third you shouldnt have bad attitude because you are at fault! I know this is a busy place but you have to provide at least better service since we are customers and we are paying much more for your coffee! If you hate your job, work somewhere else! read more

Starbucks stores never seem to have enough space in them, and this is no exception. Unless you go to the mall when it is really quiet, prepare to have to wait. It can be frustrating going here when the wait times are so long, and the orders aren't always right. And by long lines, I mean a line that is the length of the counter, wraps back around and out through the front door. Often, the wait time just isn't worth it, so we order from our app and pick up from another nearby Starbucks on the way home. There isn't much seating inside, although there are some tables outside of the Starbucks in the mall. This is not a Starbucks you would grab a seat and relax with your drink. read more

Stopped in before going axe throwing. There were 5 of us, 2 were uncertain what to get and asked the staff what they recommend. Staff was courteous, outgoing, fun and drinks were yummy! Not sure about other reviews on here, but highly don't recommend reading the one about rude staff when they showed up at almost closing. That whole review was multiple spelling errors, sentence structure not readable, and they screamed staff was racist but kept only referring to am "Asian lady" while complimenting g reast of "White" staff being nice even though they were never in the establishment lol. One of the best Starbucks ever experienced this far. I had the pleasure of traveling into Albany for the weekend, and of course, I needed my daily fix at Starbucks. I was able to find this location which is located inside a shopping plaza. The location is fantastic, with plentiful seating, but the employees are what made the experience so great. I got a drink here earlier in the day and it wasn't super busy. I got my drink fairly quickly, however usually what makes or breaks my experience is the customer service. There were 3 people working being the bar standing in a circle just talking to each other and didn't acknowledge any customer. When I finally got my drink, the person who made it barely said my name, dropped my drink and walked away. Usually I get if it's incredibly busy with many people but it was not that busy and no one was waiting in-front of me. For whoever manages this store, please speak about, train and watch how your employees deal with customer. Customer service is really important. I've worked in food and beverage and no matter how busy we get, I always acknowledge the person I'm making drinks for. read more

Service and menu items are all fine for Starbucks and meet that standard and the merch is pretty good too but for Gods Sake knock down the wall and open this place up or find a better location because right now it bottlenecks at the entrance so that entering and exiting is a huge pain. They also remodeled recently and took out the bar where you could at least sit and wait for your order to come. Now you are standing in a too crowded little area waiting for them to call your name. Honestly, the Fossil store next to them just closed and I think they could expand into it and be better for having done so. I have not bothered going in to order something from them purely based on how crowded and cramped they are and I am positive I am not the only potential customer making that calculation. read more

Poor drink quality, I got a drink with lemonade in it and I noticed they pour the lemonade and other drinks out of a container that looks like the gatorade containers at games. My drink ended up tasting very sour, like the lemonade had turned. When I went to bring this to the attention of the staff, both the girl at the counter and the manager disagreed with me and said the lemonade was made last night. It had been sitting out unrefrigerated for more than that by the taste of the drink. read more

So it's a Starbucks. But here is a story about *this* Starbucks. There are only two things I order from Starbucks. It was morning, so I asked for a single short dry cappuccino. Yes, I know it's not on the menu. But they have special cups (under the counter) and they can punch it into their registers. And in a serious coffee house, I could get the same thing by just asking for a cappuccino (Peet's calls theirs a "traditional cappuccino"). When the woman taking my order saw how much money the drink cost, we had a most unusual exchange; Her: Oh no Me: What? Her: You know what they want me to charge you for that? Me: Yeah, just about Her: But it's just ONE shot and mostly air Me: I know Her: Well that's just not right. I'm not going to do it. And she charged me less. And if I were a normal person, I would be thankful and grateful, and that would be that. But it killed me. Killed me. Mostly because their price for a short cappuccino is fair. And this whole empire was built on $2.50 cups of single shots and air. But now, it's all about 3 shots with soy and whip and flavorings and toppings. Toppings?!? Would you like an egg and cheese bagel with that? Perhaps a Harry Connick Jr. CD? Tickets to another spelling bee movie? Sigh. I'll just drink my little drink in the corner. 15 minute line with only 5 people in front of me and at least 6 baristas/cashiers but whatever, typical mall Starbucks with slow service. My drink came and it was more than half the cup of milk and even after mixing it I told them this is way too light, I get this drink very very often I know what to expect. They weren't rude and remade the drink so that's why they get 2 stars but it looked and tasted like shit. I don't take my time to leave reviews on corporate coffee but I went to there to get rid of my headache but it's still here because THERE WAS NO COFFEE IN MY MILK. Even if it wasn't more milk than normal, I couldn't taste any of the espresso so the coffee was just not strong enough which means it wasn't prepared properly. Every single time I go to this place they fuck something up. Earlier this week they gave me regular sugar instead of splenda. Today I asked for light ice because they always fill the entire God damn cup with ice, and I get my order with 2 motherfucking ice cubes in it. We had an excellent experience at the Starbucks in Crossgates mall on Saturday, March 10th. I bought one of those extra large coffees (not sure of the Starbucks translation) and some scones. My wife had a small coffee. The place was bright, clean, and friendly. The coffee was excellent also. We were served by Brittany. Very nice customer focus. Annie has a terrible attitude and horrible customer service. After spending $15 I forgot to ask for a water when I ordered. As I saw her making our drinks I asked her for a cup of water for my 2 year old. She told me no and that I had to wait back in line, which was halfway to the door. I asked again nicely and she told me to get in line. The other barista overheard and gave me a cup of water after Annie had turned her back. I can be seen frequently sitting in one of the cushy chairs by the window furiously typing away at my computer. I come to Starbucks when I get bored of sitting at Borders. Sadly, there is no free Wifi here-it's 3.99 for 2 hours. So when I get deathly bored of Borders, I will suck up paying the 3.99 for the wireless. I actually prefer the music choice here and the place is pretty nice when it's NOT crowded. When it gets crowded-the tight quarters don't make it that comfy anymore-I feel like people are invading my peaceful typing space as they wait for their non-fat venti something or other. Anyway, the starbucks is like any other starbucks-nothing special. It's a lot smaller than most starbucks probably because it's in a mall but I have seen bigger ones at malls. They have 2 tables, counter sitting and 3 comfy chairs and a bench. The placement of some of these sitting areas are just awkward-like one table is right by the coffee machine...why would anyone want to sit next to that loud thing? I guess I should talk about their coffee right? I don't drink coffee at all-I've had their green tea which was decent, but as I mentioned in my Border's Cafe review--there's no screwing up putting a teabag into hot water. My fiance, however is a heavy coffee drinker and he prefers the coffee here to the one at Borders. The service is relatively quick-they even get orders started even if the cashier is busy. What I especially like-they offer gluten-free snacks on the side-gluten free cookies and nuts-healthy snacks! Anyway, I recommend this place for a get a go drink or snack but not for a sit down. read more

Honestly the best Starbucks in the capital region. I go in here every time I go to crossgates just because I love to give them business. The employees are so considerate and kind. They have gone out of their way so many times to satisfy me and I appreciate that. The barista even remembers that I come in there often and has even gone out of his way to offer me a free drink because they were out of what I wanted. There is always a line in here, but it moves in a reasonable amount of time. The person who is always on register is always super friendly, but the employees who aren't that are behind the counter, not so much. There are a few tables but kind of cramped in the corner. What a joke! Shut it down or re train every single employee in there! We have had so many issues and I ave kept my mouth shut every time but today takes the cake and I have to write something. It is Black Friday so naturally I expected to wait even longer than the usual wait for this Starbucks which is always long. We waited in line for 30 minutes. Then waited and waited and waited,,,, for our drinks watching people that came behind us get their drinks and we just waited and waited. 45 minutes after waiting the 30 minutes we asked what the issue was?, we were given extreme attitude and told I don't even see cups for you! With your name! I said well no one took our name! But here's the receipt! So again we wait another 10 minutes for them to rudely make and hand us our drinks. This is the second time we have been forgotten and just stood there for no reason because they didn't see our order. We did not get one apology! Not one I'm sorry! We're so busy I'm sorry!
