Your store in the Anchorage airport is terrible, they have no sense of urgency to complete orders and take customers who are standing and waiting as a priority. Mobile orders should not take priority over waiting customers. Having to leave after waiting 20 mins in line to order and wait for coffee when there is no one ahead of you is not ok. This Starbucks... they need a lot more workers. I felt sorry for the girls trying to get as many spenders out as possible. It took a good 15 minutes of waiting in line and then another 15 to get my drink. The mobile orders are filled first which normally I would understand but they all just sat there... no one was picking them up. The girl running the register is new to Starbucks. She rang me and my friend up wrong, tried to charge for simple syrup etc and still got my friend's iced coffee wrong and they asked if they could just add ice to her hot coffee. There are limited options to grab coffee in this airport so the line is usually 5-6 people most of the time. Coffee is typical of Starbucks, tastes great but very overpriced. Staff are always hustling here to ensure that passengers can get to their plane on time and service always comes with a friendly smile. This is the slowest Starbucks on the planet...I have been here while fling in and out of Anchorage many times and the service is always the same ultra slow...the staff tries and fakes being nice and literally has a dint give a care attitude. One thing I see right off the bat is no leadership and on my most recent visit the manager was more busy putting out new cups than helping the line get shorter and helping customers. One example one of our team members ordered a tea and after taking forever we asked about where it was at? The manager just looked at the lady ringing up customers and tells her "see you should've done that yourself" instead of just stepping in and getting the tea she got in her phone and just went in the back room. Then having the front desk employee shut down the already backed up line to get the tea...I wish this was a one time experience but this place is always disappointing. read more

Weirdest Starbucks ever. They had 5 employees, one was drinking a coffee while leaning on the counter ignoring the line of people. The cashier couldn't get a simple order right: 16oz coffee & iced tea. She asked me three times to repeat my order. Then the iced tea got lost. When I went back to the counter to request it that employee had to search thru the orders to find it. I finally asked her to fill a cup with ice, pour tea over it and put on a lid. Not rocket science! The 4 employees who were actually working moved so slow the line of people waiting for their orders was so long! I should I read the stars and reviews first before going here. I got a grande caramel macchiato and it was filled half way with coffee and the other half was filled with foam. I paid $5 for half a coffee. I'm a little confused, I didn't even bother complaining because I already complained about my water fill for my bottle was filled half way as well. What's up with filling this half way? Don't go here, you're better off maybe going to Cinnabon or even McDonald's for coffee, shity coffee but at least you won't lose $5 on a grande half filled coffee. read more

I was so very bummed today when I went to Starbucks at the Anchorage Airport. Why? Because they've caved and removed the Christmas symbols from their cups. Now they look like red beer cups. The tradition of going to Starbucks on a cold winter day to have a cup of coffee or tea is over for me and my family. I asked the barista if it was true that they removed the Christmas symbols and she said, "Yes." I then asked her when the regular cups were coming back and she said, "After Christmas." Barista was nice, not very happy though I overheard him say someone called into work so he was the only one there. Am going to try to sleep on my flight so I didn't order coffee but I did order a ham and Swiss croissant. It was ok. Soggy on one end but got the job done for me, I'm not hungry anymore. The WORST customer service ever. I am submitting my review here, on TripAdvisor and to Starbucks directly. Came in at 8:45 on 9/16/2017, 20s something male barista working the register. Cut me off mid order to tell me I could make my own coffee...silly me I thought that's what they were getting paid and tipped to do. Then when I ordered a salad, he asked if I wanted a fork or would rather eat it with my hands. Super unprofessional. I will boycott all Starbucks and so will my kids and my husband. Starbucks may make billions but because Of this one dummy, they'll lose any portion of our income we would have ever spent. It looks like an ordinary Starbucks but there are some differences too. In New York or Chicago you can sit in a Starbucks and will be different - the look is the same, same prices, same staff training but there are differences. Kind of local differences. The Anchorage starbucks is good looking, warm and cozy. However the service is not so fast. You might have to wait 10 - 20 minutes for your order. Just an Alaska style - no need to be in a hurry. Otherwise the bakery is good and coffee - as always nice. Around there are not so many Starbucks working 24/7 so I thing we have to respect the efforts of the owners. read more

Bummer for me. I landed around 3:30 in the morning and had terrible eat-badly cravings as can happen in the middle of the night in an airport. I don't ever go to Starbucks, normally. I saw a sign for an unusual latte: juniper. Inside the shop, it was advertised as having juniper and sage and topped with pine-citrus sugar. I am a sucker for strange flavor combinations. I went to the cashier and asked for a juniper latte. What I got was a gingerbread latte. But it's partly my fault because that's what my receipt says, too. All that said, it is a solidly average flavored latte. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not too sweet. This location does not charge for whipped cream on top of a drink. They also had free samples of a cold caramel drink that was insanely sweet and tasted like drinking watered down caramel sauce. I'm bummed I paid $5 for an average latte...and I still have the itch to scratch about the juniper. read more
