Bad service, when your store is this busy turn off third party order services 45 mins for a cold coffee is wrong.

Whenever I go to this Starbucks, the drinks and sandwiches are always good and made right. They were out of pumpkin which made me sad, but a few days later they were restocked. Staff is always friendly, but there usually is a line. The shop is pretty darn small, so waiting in line is awkward since there's not too much room to stand. I like to do a pick up order, so I can grab it off the counter and go. The parking lot is terrible to park in. I drive a big vehicle so it's a nightmare trying to get it in the few tiny spaces they do have. I also wish they had a drive through! read more

Stopped into Starbucks heading back to work from an appointment for the infamous Unicorn Frappe (the first day it came out). I was lucky enough to snag a spot near the door which NEVER happens here. The parking lot layout is terrible; minimal spots and poor spot placement. I'm always nervous leaving this place that I'll back into someone's car. For 10:30 am the place was packed. Does no one work?! I stand in line for a few minutes behind a woman that had to be explained the star points system and how they don't accrue buying a gift card or something like that. They had one woman taking orders, who was nice enough, and two people making the orders. I got the unicorn frappe and chicken bacon sandwich. Why I keep going to Starbucks I don't know. Over $5 for a grande frappe and over $6 for a small sandwich...nuts! But I'm a gold member, so I guess the price doesn't stop me. Unicorn frappe was not good and so not worth the hype. The frappe itself was a good flavor, but that blue syrup poured in it was as sour as Warheads and totally too much. Glad it's not in regular rotation because it's all talk and doesn't deliver. I'm a loyal supporter of local coffee shops, and try to avoid chains like Starbucks when there are other options. That said, this location fills a niche. I feel guilty camping out all afternoon at a small/independent coffee shop unless I continuously make purchases to justify my table occupation. For daylong work sessions, Arborland Starbucks is my go-to. Yes, the parking lot is poorly designed, but otherwise it's perfect. There's plenty of seating-- at tables, a window bar, and armchairs-- and consistently fast wifi. The drinks and prices are the same as any other Starbucks, and the baristas are generally pleasant, if not overly friendly. The temperature is always just right, and there's a fireplace that must be nice in the winter. Come do your work here, and make the most of those free refills on coffee and tea! read more

Parking here can be a nightmare and it's consistently busy (even at 10am on a Thursday it seems) but the baristas and cashiers are really pleasant and I've never had a bum order/drink. I also like its proximity to the nail place (beverage before pampering? Ok, thanks!) and all the outdoor seating (even if the view is busy Washtenaw Ave). Yes, this location's parking lot is a total nightmare to get in, but the parking lot to the left of it is always pretty empty. You can probably park, get your drink, and head on out in the same amount of time as trying to park in their teensy parking lot. They always have great service, and though most of the time this location is packed, if you can snag a seat by the fireplace, it's just the perfect place to relax and read for a while. The last time I went, the gent who placed my order gave me a deal on my order! Bonus? If you're a night owl like me, they're open until midnight. (at the time of this review anyway.) I haven't been to this starbucks in years, and I was going to spend the day in Ypsi with a friend of mine, and we always meet up at Arborland mall. I remember when this starbucks went in, many many years ago! I went into this Starbucks because I needed coffee, there's plenty of seating, and its a common place to meet. The staff here was friendly and awesome! I went with a cafe mocha, and a chocolate chip coffee cake thing. Drink was hot, food was tasty, and its always a pleasure to stop into a familiar place every now and then. The downside to this starbucks is that its kind of in a clustered tight area. Parking is tight just about every minute of the day. Its much easier to park in the bigger lot, cross the little drive way, and walk all the way down instead of trying to park out in front of the shop. Also, the place was jam packed when I was there, and since it was downpouring, no one could sit outside. Despite the ample seating inside, during the winter months and rainy days, your limited to indoor seating. Anyways, aside from tight parking, place is awesome. Great staff here! read more

I come to this Starbucks least often because they don't have a drive thru and I'm always with my dog. Also, the parking lot is quite the nightmare. This is a pretty busy Starbucks so expect to wait a few minutes to order but they are quite fast at getting you your order. There's generally a lot of ppl sitting here using WiFi, which is nice and free, and also students doing homework so you can't always get a seat. I usually am on the run so it's ok for me. The white chocolate mocha is my fave! With almond milk and an extra shot. Stop by and check them out. (Oh btw, Starbucks isn't a cheap coffee house but they have rewards. If you download their app you can get stars for purchases and before you kno it you'll have a free one!). read more

Not the closest SB to where I live, but usually the one I go to if I plan to settle down with my laptop and work for a bit. Or if I'm headed out of town early for some outdoor excursion and need a coffee at 3:30 AM. There are usually plenty of open seats with accessible plug-in outlets, and the place is open 24 hours; both of these facts distinguish this SBs from most others. Baristas are always friendly here and quick to take care of any problems (like coffee being lukewarm--a fresh batch was up in minutes, even though I was almost the only person there, it being one of those 3:30 AM stops). The coffee and food are what you find at every SB, though here they offer some specialty blends of coffee you can have custom brewed, starting at about $4 a pop--might try one someday if I'm feeling flush. Parking is very limited--too many businesses in this little plaza for the forty or so spots available. But, usually I can find a space with minimal waiting, even if some artful maneuvering is required to get into it. A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks, I suppose. But this one manages to be just a bit more. read more

Arborland Starbucks is a place I usually try to avoid because of its terrible parking spaces . They are free but most of the time the space is full and once you go inside the lane looking for parking at the end there is very little space to reverse your car . Specially in a snowy winter weather that place is a mess. Inside the cafe is not very well maintained. I don't know why but every time I visit this place I feel it is not properly clean . The staffs are nice but I always get the feeling that they are not very excited to see me . Some times I don't even get a smile . Though they always get my order right . But I definitely wants more vibrant and jovial service so that I feel welcome and excited to be there . read more

A cold, unfriendly face of an employee took my order and then blankly gestured at the device to scan my Starbucks app even though the register read 100% of the cost of a frappacino on 50% off day. When I mentioned this, she stonily said that 50% off would be taken off after I scanned my phone. In my ideal world of curtesy, manners and general friendliness, this would worth mentioning before I'm asked to scan my phone. The employee who made my beverage called out the name of the drink with the same zombie gaze as the order-taker, plunked the drink on the counter and turned immediately to make the next drink. This is a very busy Starbucks! Located in Arborland Mall, it gets lots of traffic. It's located in a little cul-de-sac where parking can be a B! Maneuvering in and out of this parking lot will definitely make your coffee leak- get one of those green coffee top things. Service is good, fast, and consistent. There is a fireplace, comfy chairs, small round tables as well as long rectangular tables ideal for group studying. Open 24 hours, it's perfect if you're a student looking to escape downtown coffee shops for a little peace and quiet in the middle of the night. read more

You know the drill from the other reviews: bad parking, always busy. This stuff I don't mind, because it's been here for a long time and there's not a whole lot they can do about either problem. The staff is also pretty nice but I seem to always have something go wrong when I go here. Today's experience inspired a Yelp it was so disappointing. In what should have been a five minute visit, my wife and I had to remind the staff of what she ordered mere moments after it was ordered, we had a breakfast sandwich delivered to us that was ice cold in the middle, and then they told us we could have a new free sandwich that was also chilly in the middle. We ended up there for over 20 minutes through all of this, and to top it off the main reason we went was to buy a new coffee grinder, which their store did not sell. I don't take issue with the usual Starbucks complaints (corporate coffee, yadda yadda yadda) but bad food and clumsy service on a day when they were absolutely dead is very frustrating. I love coffee and Starbucks is my favorite. The employees here always get my order right and even get my mom's crazy half-calf, extra pump, three shot monstrosity correct each and every time. In regards to parking, there's an entire lot that is even easier to get in and out of just across the drive. Park over there and walk over, because it'll take way less time to do that than it will to wait for a spot closet to Starbucks. Walking is a good thing, and I do it because I'm about to devour a delicious latte and want to walk off some of the calories. I also love that this place is open 24-7. It makes me early, early morning meetings more bearable if I have caffeine in my system. read more

This is Starbucks with Starbucks Coffee and Starbucks prices, so I'm not going to spend time dissing Starbucks as a concept, as in other reviews. It is a very busy Starbucks. The line is frequently deep. Why to come here? 24 hours! Convenient to freeway! Fireplace!! Fireplace also faces and warms the patio outside!! (Too bad the patio faces a major divided road, which is not a charming and quiet patio-like location. But you can have your little zone of civility out there, if the traffic and the weather are right.) Why not to come here? If you are thinking this is your workspace away from home and that you will find a nice seat with an outlet at any particular time of the day to occupy in solitude for hours, bathed in the blue light of your glowing screen. You have about a 20% chance of getting a spot in the off-peak hours, and about a 5% chance of getting one in the peak 'study hall' hours. If you need to park within 100 feet of the door, parking is impossible here. If you are willing to walk 500 feet for your Starbucks there is ample parking in the adjacent mall parking lot. Suggestion: if you need to crash, cash, dash and drink (and not even begin to consider the inconvenience of parking 500 feet away) then go to the Starbucks on Carpenter Road. Drive thru Starbucks! Visited this Starbucks for the first time today. Walked in around 10pm, got some coffee, and sat down to work on my computer. Wasn't very busy, which is suprising because of what everyone else has said in their reviews. Mabey it was due to the stinky homeless man sitting in the corner that you could smell no matter where you were. Or mabey because of the man sleeping on the couch for hours. Both are still here at 3:45am. I would have left, but I needed to get a lot done. Unfortunatley this is the only 24 hour coffee shop open for miles. I unabashedly like Starbucks as a concept and as a cafe. Their drinks are good. Maybe I've never had "real" coffee, or whatever, but I don't care. I even like THIS Starbucks! The staff is friendly and I don't even mind the parking situation. However, I always feel like it's packed with UM students between like 8 and 4am. It puzzles me.
