Starbucks employees rudely interrupted customers' phone calls and requested the customer to leave the seat. I purchased a coffee at Starbucks and sit in a shared table with other customers. They finished they talks and left after about 15 min. After another ~15 mins, I received a phone call and started talking for about 5 mins. Then a female interrupted my phone call from my back. She said she is an employee of the Starbucks and her manager request me to leave my seat to give space for their meeting. I asked if she could give me 5 mins to finish my phone call. Within 2 mins, she and other 6-8 people showed up, took the seats surrounding me, and started their meeting. I had to stop the phone call and asked these people whether they are sure their manager told me to leave my seat. One of them said yes. I cannot stay with a group of people having their meeting around me, then left. ** I would have no complaint if they could just wait for 2 more mins and ask me if I am willing to move. ** They told me to leave the table. They didn't ask me if I could. ** No, the call was not long and the conversation was not aloud. ** It is surely not my office and I am not treating it that way. Went to grab drinks here while visiting my sister, and I have to say I am very unimpressed. I ordered my drink: venti quad blonde caramel macchiato stirred. The cashier asked if I wanted it hot or iced and I told her hot. She repeated the order back and it was correct. Unfortunately the barista was not paying attention and put the sticker on a iced drink cup so she made it iced. When she called the drink out I let her know I ordered hot. Instead of apologizing and offering to remake the drink, she gave me attitude and told me I could take the incorrect drink because it would go to waste and that the remake would take "a while". At that point another barista named Becca came over and started remaking my drink. She did not take the sticker from my original drink and tried to make it from memory. As expected, my drink was made incorrectly for a second time, although at least hot this time. I asked if it was quad blonde and stirred. Since I had just watched her pull shots, pour milk on top and then top it with caramel, I knew she had not made it stirred. She told me "no we don't have a label for stirred" then she rudely told me she could just stir it now if I wanted. FIRST OF ALL, a macchiato of any sort should always have shots on top unless otherwise directed. So even if she didn't know how to make a stirred drink or forgot, the REGULAR drink was made incorrectly. Both baristas had the nerve to look at me like I was being demanding and did not offer to remake the drink, even though the first mistake was on them and the second remake wasn't done correctly either. I expect much better service and certainly no attitude when I'm spending almost $7 on a drink. Mistakes are sometimes made but the customer shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience especially when the barista doesn't know how to do their job. read more

Three strikes and you're out. They used to be very nice/friendly here, now I just wonder where common courtesy went. I've visited three times in the past month and each time the people behind the counter have successfully not greeted or smiled. The last time I went there they continued their gossip session while each of three eyeballed me as I approach the cashier. I smiled and said hello to each of them, with absolutely no response. Once someone decided to reluctantly take my order order, but it was like I was at Mel's diner and the waitperson said, "What do you want?" and a cold, "Here (is your drink)." All the while that person finished a story about someone resigning. Sorry to inconvenience all of you... Won't make that mistake, again! There really are 2 reviews to be written, one for late hours and one for busy hours, which is most of the day after ~ 9 AM. I happen to love the very late hours (1-6 AM). That's because I like to have coffee (a few lattes) and bagels while studying during the night. The staff are great. The Google powered internet solves an old problem with Starbucks--slow WiFi, and is nearly UofM grade. Others (like many of my friends) love the place during the day *because* there is so much bustle and noise. If you like a busy coffee-house scene, it's great for that during the day. read more

I like many am hooked on coffee. I love Starbucks flavors and quality but the wait times there are a bit longer than wanted. Prices are quite high too. The last time my wife and I went, it took over 25 mins from after we ordered just two coffees. The staff felt bad because I didn't even complain I just waited quietly that they gave me a gift card for the next time. Sadly this happens a lot there. On Monday afternoon I was so excited to take my granddaughter and nephew to have an after school Starbucks treat. For my nephew it was his first visit. After placing our order we waited for the barista to complete the (2) Frappuccinos. The male caucasian barista had to be the most rudest possibly racist Starbucks employee I have ever encountered. My nephew's drink was literally thrown at us along with the straw. I made a remark that you didn't have to throw his drink and the straw that he didn't need, because we had already gotten 2 straws. When he completed the next drink he once again with an attitude slammed the drink down without a straw. He never once said Thank you or any such communication. I then said Thank you twice and made a remark that your reply "SHOULD BE, YOUR WELCOME!" I turned around without asking for a manager as I just wanted out of the store ASAP. I told the children I am going to call Starbuck's customer service immediately which I did. They were very empathetic and took all my information down so he could report it to the district manager. I was given a full refund for the drinks. But that doesn't excuse what he did and the horrific impression he left on my granddaughter and nephew. They are scarred and that is totally unacceptable and no reprimanding is enough for me. We are talking about my 9 and 10 year old children. I'm eternally puzzled at the success of Starbucks. The coffee (in this as in all the others I've been to) is ordinary -- you can usually find better for your habitual cup, if you check around. The atmosphere is blah. And the claim that they invented the cafe -- give me a break! read more

This place needs more seating. Layout could be improved to fir more seating. It's open 24-hours so it attracts all the night owls.

I don't generally mind Starbucks, but this particular Starbucks makes my blood boil. It taunts you with its perpetual 24-7 hours, but is so unbelievably crowded if you arrive anytime between 8AM and 4AM, you're not likely to find a seat. If you happen to get lucky, the flocks of people coming and going and hovering if you look like you might be getting up will make concentration quite difficult. I'm not claustrophobic, but this place helps me get what that feels like- the narrow space is not designed for heavy traffic. Nearby superior alternatives include Barnes & Noble, Borders, and the 24-hour Denny's. read more

This is my usual spot for pre-work caffeine since Starbucks are hard to find and access on the south side of Ann Arbor. The staff and baristas are cheerful, the line is usually pretty short, the store is clean, there is plenty of seating, and they spell my name right ... you'd be surprised at what I've found on my Starbucks cups! I'm a sucker for the caramel macchiatos as well as the green tea latte which apparently can be served cold. It's a great spot to stop at in the morning and parking is easy to find. What made my experience even better today was the sample of chocolate croissant that I got to nibble on while waiting for my drink. read more

The ONLY reason I go here is because they have late hours and during the school year they are open 24 hours. That is IT. The staff here is incredibly unfriendly. The place was recently remodeled and looks good. They have a fireplace inside and outside. The parking is always really congested and good luck getting a table between 5pm and 9pm. If I'm in the mood for a quick coffee I drive a mile up the road to the other starbucks with a drive thru where the staff is actually quite nice. read more

I am in this particular Starbucks the vast majority of my life. It is open 24 HOURS!!! The baristas tend to memorize your drink and name if you are a regular too. It's a good place to study, but sometimes it can get very busy and you have to wait for a seat. Visiting Ann Arbor this last weekend I found that THIS Starbucks makes the BEST half-caf in America. They 'pour-over' each cup. Outstanding. As quick as getting a brewed cup but sooooo much better. If you know the parking situation, you park at Chilis or in the more open area of Arborland, and its easily navigated and you have a short walk. I did that so no complaints there, I knew what I was in for. Barista Mina was rude and obnoxious. 2 stars are given because the coffee is hot and its open 24 hours. I'm a very frequent customer. Sarah and her crew do a great job of making the customers feel welcome. Sometimes I don't know how they handle the HUGE rush of people who often come here, especially on game days. I would love to give 5 stars, but as the school year starts, some of the customers need to be a bit more civil. My son loves this place, but was getting fussy as the line was long, and I suggested he sit at a table. A young woman with UM clothing and a German textbook came in from the parking lot and grabbed the seat as we we getting ready to sit there. I asked if my son could at least sit down for a minute (he was getting tired and fussy) and her response was.."that seat is for my boyfriend, we have a LOT of work to do". Please keep in mind that moms with kids also have work to do (for example, I have paper grading I was hoping to do for my job as a professor), and it is not a good example for him to see adults behaving this way. My son is disappointed but I'm afraid that with all of the students we will have to look elsewhere to hang out on Saturdays. read more

Today I went to this Starbucks and the service was horrible. I walked up to the counter and the barista seemed rude and like she didn't want to be there. Probably because the A.C was broken, but still. So then I ordered and I waited to get my Midnight Mint Mocha Frap and it took pretty long. So when I got my drink, I knew something was wrong. It looked like some kind of milk chocolate or caramel drink. It wasn't dark like the Midnight Mint Mocha Frap's usually are and it didn't have whipped cream in the middle of the drink and chocolate powder on top. I thought that maybe they just changed something so that it looks slightly different. So I got into my car and left the Starbucks and when I tasted it I knew that the people making my drink got lazy and probably just put some chocolate milk with caramel in the cup. Long story short, I was super mad and I hope that this Starbucks improves the quality of their products and doesn't get lazy just because it's hot. read more
