After looking for someplace close we found cafe54. SUPER close to campus. My eggs were ok. The corned beef hash was the canned kind just like I like it, because some stuff you can make fresh and fancy up but that preservative, war time taste just hits and you know I'm right. I had coffee that would put hair on your chest. and an Arnold palmer that was kind of watery. Oddly enough I found those traits acceptable. My son had french toast. This is only the 3rd time he's had it (by choice) and he really enjoyed it. While brunch/lunch was a 3.5 in my book it was a 5 for him There is no tap to pay but they do take the usual cash and card. So just don't forget your cards in your pants pockets and you'll be ok. The place was bright and airy with outdoor seating and the service was just ok. Decent place. You should go in a try it out.

I've eaten here twice now the first time I said, I would never go back, but I wanted to give it a second chance. This place basically does breakfast and if you only do one thing, you should be great and let's face it. Breakfast is one of the easiest things to make and do well but this place misses the mark on every level. First impressions walking in the door, the place is freezing cold even the waitresses all have goosebumps and who wants to sit in a refrigerator and be uncomfortable while you're eating? We walked in the door to a nearly empty restaurant with these big, beautiful sunny windows, but they sat in a dark corner while the booths in the windows were all empty. Business 101 people attract people put them in the windows so that they can have use and people can see that the business has customers!!!! maybe they didn't wanna sit us next to the windows because they were covered with greasy fingerprints that looked like they had been there since the last weekend and hadn't been cleaned. The glass was gross. The menu has all the standard fair that you would expect from a regular breakfast restaurant.... in Kansas. all very American. Nothing stands out as being gourmet or unique in a market where there's a lot of money and a lot of transplants who are used to better stuff than ordinary Americana breakfast food. The prices are a little high, but it's 2026. Everything's high. We order our food. I got scrambled eggs and they were hard as rubber because they were overcooked.! How do you own a breakfast restaurant and you can't cook scrambled eggs? I had the eggs returned and they did a decent enough job on the next batch but generally speaking the food was just barely OK. I got orange juice and it came in a giant glass and it was clearly from concentrate. Maybe that works in Iowa but at a specialty restaurant in a fashionable town I want fresh squeeze orange juice. I don't need 10 gallons of it. I would rather have a little juice glass full of fresh orange juice than a gallon of concentrated crap. I just don't think these people understand their clientele and they don't do anything special like blueberries for your pancakes.... There's so many things you can do with breakfast and they just did the bare minimum. It's so disappointing to have the restaurant with the absolute best geography in our community barely trying to make decent food or make customers comfortable in a clean environment. I was charitable when I gave them two stars because I actually felt bad. I want them to succeed, but they really need to rethink what they're doing and try a lot harder.

There was plenty of seating and space for everyone. people were just talking and enjoying their morning. I got an iced mocha and it was delicious! Very rich and the whip cream on top was wonderful. I also got a sausage, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and it was 10/10. The biscuit was light and fluffy, I was worried about the look of the egg, but it was well seasoned and delicious! The cheese, oh my, had an epic cheese pull and it was delicious! The staff was INDREDIBLY friendly as well! 10/10 all around!

I arrived during their quieter time, just after 12:30pm, so there's were no lines and I had the opportunity to talk to one of the baristas about latte options. I decided on a peppermint white mocha latte and got an iced vanilla latte with almond milk for my coworker. I also picked up a raspberry muffin, which was staring me in the face, lol! The shop is pretty spacious, with lots of seating (sofas and comfy chairs, too), and I could see why people would want to hang out while enjoying their purchases. The staff was super friendly. We both enjoyed our drinks and the muffin was tasty, too (a bit better after heating it up a bit). I'm so glad I found such a cute coffee shop near work!

At $4.59 plus tax, this felt unacceptable for what amounted to a small cup of ice. Please refer to the pictures. I returned to the counter to show the discrepancy between the amount of ice and the beverage itself. Rather than acknowledging the issue promptly, the employee engaged in an argument before ultimately replacing the drink. Additionally, the young lady who initially took our order appeared disengaged. There was no greeting or smile, and her demeanor suggested she did not want to be there. I sincerely hope the level of service improves in the future. Kenny, if you see this, I encourage you to check in with your staff. Poor service can negatively impact your business, as evidenced by several other customer reviews that appear to be dissatisfied. This establishment used to be my preferred place to purchase dozens of donuts for my children's school events, and I would like to see it return to the level of service it once provided. Great customer service makes a big difference. .40 cents extra for bulk specialty donuts??????? For the 2 brownie batter donuts.

Of the donuts my favorite were by far the croissant. Both were fantastic and I would get both again. I love cinnamon sugar of any kind so that I knew that would be my favorite. I also really liked the king cake donut although it is a little sweat for breakfast. My wife liked the s'mores donut. The Boston cream had an after taste I didn't prefer and I am not really into filled donuts in general but that is just a personal preference. The glazed donut I thought was pretty subpar. It looked and tastes like it was a day old and we went on a Saturday morning at 9am so you would think they would be fresh. On another visit I tried the apple fritter because we got there late and it was the only donut left. It was fine but I wouldn't get it again. Staff was nice and location was close and clean. Overall I would definitely go back for the croissant donuts and may try other flavors in the future (there were plenty we didn't try). Get there early because it seems they tend to sell out.
