I have spoken to the manager months ago when I received my First 3/4 full venti cup of Blonde Anericano. Happened again and I had not pulled away from the window .. I handed her the cup back and she said oh no do you need napkins are you burnt? I told her no that's the way you gave it to me. And Now again today. And customer service sub par. Main Street in Barrington much better. Friendly. I was never aware of what my cup cost. I thought 4.45. One day she says 4.90. Not thinking I go up to the window and asked did price go up? She says loudly in a snippy tone ... Every month and slams the window. My mistake .. it was tax but she could have been nicer. I applaud hiring the disabled but you don't put a blind person in charge of putting the lid on my cup. Here's my cup this morning. Today Tuesday I called the manager and she told me if it happens again just come in. I told her once I pull out on NW highway kind of hard to turn around. The convenience of your store is a drive thru. She told me they use a vertigo machine and it creates foam to make it look filled. I took the pic yesterday at the red light. Most staff is friendly, but it looks disgusting inside and not clean! Their wait times are also super long for the drinks to not be good.

You'll wait for 20 minutes for a mobile order you ordered 30 minutes prior without being acknowledged all while it's sitting over by the drive thru window, and no one cares or bothers to keep track of mobile orders vs. drive thru orders, even tho the stickers make it clear if it's a mobile order. I got a drink delivered to me by a coworker and she was as baffled as me.. this was my drink. Literally half empty ?! I order light ice because I can't have cold drinks , so they gave me a half empty drink!!! And this was like $10. Never going back here. What a joke and a rip off. Well, I'll be frank, I primarily went to this particular Starbucks location to have a beverage and utilize their WiFi. To my ultimate dismay, their WiFi didn't work. I talked to the gentleman behind the counter and he said "Yeah our customers have been having trouble logging in to it. He continued to tell even he had trouble logging in!" This Starbucks is fast, but you barely get anything in your drinks. Also, I find I usually pay more here than at other locations (probably a tax thing). If you order a drink, don't expect it to be filled anywhere near to the top. Try the downtown Barrington location instead if you don't absolutely need the drive-through, or go to another place with a drive-through. read more

I feel like it deserves more stars, because there's nothing wrong with it, I've just never been blown away by a Starbucks. It's a Starbucks. They've always been kind and courteous to me, and I received my order promptly - and correct. They even put up with me even though I'm not sure how to order it correctly - Nonfat, light ice, Iced Chai Tea Latte? Nonfat Iced Chai Tea Latte, Light ice? I have no idea. I will say that I prefer the regular Chai Tea to the Oprah/Teavana Chai. While the Oprah Chai was described as being "more cinnamony," I disagree... it's just... bleh. These guys were super friendly and awesome. When my pumpkin chai tea latte was too sweet they steamed some extra milk for me. They also gave me a glass of water! Super clean and nice! No lie! All these baristas here are amazing last year (November) i received my very first free drink everyday for three months (i won on the summer game board game). And they all are super nice super welcoming and even though my creations(i was customizing every free drink for fun) they always made it exactly the way i ordered it. They were fast and if they were backed up and didn't get to my drink quick enough(the app always says 4-7 minutes) they never hesitated to apologize they didn't get to it. This is not a fast food place so i never expected my drink to be done quick but they always some how made it work. People in Barrington can be nice but some, I have seen, have gotten a little rude and i did say once that it isn't fast food so if they wanted coffee quick to go to McDonalds. Also i think for like a week in the morning you may or should see if a Barrington cop could enforce the sign "Do not stop on 14" and the yellow lines that represent you can not stop or park there would be great. I have almost gotten in two accidents because of cars stopping on 14 or not moving off the yellow stripe lines so i can go around and park or go in front and park. Its a hazard. I been in 3 confrontations with people because they do not get the rules or signs. One customer had called me a cunt and go get my coffee, go get so "d**k" and shut up because i honked at him and told him he can't block the drive thru. I gave 5 stars because the stars represent the staff and the business not the rude customers. Keep up the great work!! And i think Paige is the district manager? Lol but you my dear need to treat your workers to a gift for the great work or contact me and maybe i can help figure something out for them :) Best Starbucks EVER! read more

Very very poor customer service. Kimberley aka Kim was a terrible barista. 1) A London fog tea latte is a standard Starbucks drink and told my boyfriend when he ordered that "they can do it." 2) What it came out the drink did not look like what I usually order, it looked like a black mango iced tea lemonade. She offered to put it in a venti cup and put milk in it. Mind you it wasn't even busy, it was at 4 pm in Barrington, not 8:30 am in Chicago, but she still had an attitude when asked to remake it. 3) Kim made no effort to hide her disdain in remaking the drink that she announced the drink with so much attitude. Been here several times, it's right near my vet. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. They have an outdoor death area right by their parking lot and the U.S. Highway. But they do have one! The indoor seating area feels a bit crowded to me, all but one of the table are for two. There are only two cushy leather chairs. That being said, this place seems to mostly do a huge drive thru biz. I've never seen the seating area full. Just know it's not the place to come and hang with a group of more than 4. I would like to like this location and I've given it a serious try but they need to do some fixin'. I decided to give the store a shot and went each day for a week to see if I had formed an unfair opinion of them too soon. Four times out of 5 they got my order wrong (2 via drive-thru, 2 via walk-in). I thought it might be the same person and that they just needed retraining, but this is not the case. There is one woman there, almost daily in the mornings during the weekdays who is just awful. I mean awful in that she is rude to all of the customers, is actually cranky towards them, and I have seen people walk out without ordering because they have been so turned off by how she has treated or mistreated customers before them. I don't know if she's a manager or an hourly employee. She's older with short dark hair. I am not a Starbucks fan, in fact, I much prefer going to Cook Street Coffee Shop (on the corner of Cook and Station), but they have decent products. I would rather go to the other Starbucks in Barrington, on Hough at Station from now on. They seem to nicer. The mistakes in orders could be easily corrected with retraining by management but that woman is so bad she needs to be cut. Examples of what she has said to customers (and never in a nice tone): I don't know where your order is; it's not my fault your order was messed up; I don't care. I stood there waiting for my order once and watched five people walk out because of her once. Another time someone walked out because they were upset that they heard her swearing after a customer left (in reference to said customer). "I don't care?" (I'm just glad she didn't say this one to me.) I will say that most of the rest of the staff is very friendly. Even if they make mistakes on orders frequently. I have a feeling that this has to do with management and training and could be fixed easily. That's the only reason I'm including a second star because I feel sorry for the rest of the staff who has to work for or with this woman. The District Manager needs to get in here fast to fix this store. And frankly, get rid of her, because you can't correct bad behavior at that level. I will add that the store is kept clean, and the drinks and food are made well when the order is processed correctly. I would love to see this store improve drastically; until then I will go to Cook Street Coffee Shop or elsewhere. read more

I frequently come to this location for convenience but 8/10 times this location is dirty, trash fill, no splenda and counters a mess. Recently, as in last week, they were out of grande lids and regular straws. The woman told me this incident wasn't isolated to their location but I disagree as I went to others that day. My must have before work everyday. Venti Iced Green Tea unsweetened...my fave. The staff is super nice at this location and the drive-thru is pretty efficient. The only downside is when cars in the drive-thru don't leave room for people to get past and back up traffic onto NW Highway during morning rush hour. read more

This store doesn't deserve 1 star. My experience today was the last straw, I have given them ample opportunities. Very poor customer service to say the least. Went through drive through today, ordered my Americano with 2 equals, 2 inches steamed cream, no foam. Asked the person who took my order to repeat(to avoid delays) and she got it wrong, I corrected her and said no foam and when I got the coffee, it had foam(which means less cream). Asked them to make it right and the manager Kaitlyn said that if I don't like it I should go to another store, that I was rude and to stop coming here and to pull aside. I told her I will wait for my coffee. She told one of her employees to take the drinks out to the people behind me and tell them its free because I would not move. I called to get their names and Michelle said that they contacted the police and said that I was not allowed to come here. She then said under her breath "maybe you're drinking too much vodka in your coffee", I said what did you say? She said "oh nothing, I was just talking to my coworker'. I called the police department and they did not contact them, they even said that I should report them to corporate. My coffee is not complicated and I spend enough money at Starbucks that I should be able to get it where it is convenient for me. That is why I decided to have my order repeated, I have gotten black coffee, no sugar, foam, skim milk, almond milk and even a Chai tea, how frustrating is that when you drive off and don't have time to go back. I have never encountered such bad Starbucks employees, I think they feed off each other and can care less about customer service.
