There are a few Starbucks that I keep in mind when I'm on my way somewhere and want a quick drink. This is one of them. It's easily just off the freeway, the service is fast and my drinks have always been accurate. Yesterday, was one of those occasions. I was early for an event I was headed to. I needed a pick me up. I ordered the passion guava refresher. The refresher drinks are new to me, usually, I just get coffee, but it was hot and that's what sounded good. The addition of pearls in the bottom was also new to me. My drink was on the sour side, so the pearls actually helped to make it a little bit sweeter. They are quite sweet, but I got my order halved. The staff is always friendly here too. I will definitely continue to stop at this convenient location when I need a quick pick me up. read more

One of the better Starbucks in the area...and it's a drive thru! Service is usually friendly and the drinks have (usually) been excellent and well-prepared. It does get very busy, though, and waits have exceeded fifteen minutes while in drive thru line... This location makes some of the better iced matcha lattes with oat milk... UPDATE: Was disappointed with the poor service and subpar iced matcha on a Sunday morning. We also ordered food (slice of the lemon loaf and the sausage and egg wrap, and I did not feel well after eating these...we were headed at a park after ordering and it almost ruined our afternoon). read more

Yikes what a terrible experience! I'm an everyday Starbucks customer, but I usually do not frequent this location. There were two baristas that were so unprofessional and rude, I actually had to leave because I was made to feel so uncomfortable. There names were Atlas and Tripp, I'd street clear of either one unless you want to be made to feel like they are doing you a favor taking and making your order. Iced Caramel Brûlée Latte, I asked for a Tall and for it to be half sweet. It's still prominently sweet and very milk. There's no espresso in this at all, or at least that's what it doesn't taste like. (Tastes like caramel milk). I wasn't sure if I was allowed to ask them to remake it because I already left the premises before I tried the drink. I feel bad because something like this should only cost $2 and it cost me ~$6.25 (something like that). I think tall sizes should be ~$5.25-$5.75 at most. The people today were kind, but quiet. Space was clean and they got drinks out fast. Maybe prioritizing speed over quality. I kind of have to come back since it's the only coffee shop in the area, but if it wasn't I wouldn't. One day, I'll be more brave and ask them to remake the drink -- this was way too milky and sweet. 2 stars for the drink quality today(: ...but usually I give 4 stars for the entire experience. read more

Very good drinks, the food and other items are hit or miss in terms of freshness. The service is pretty fast here, which is good on a busy Saturday morning. The decor has a traditional, but modernized Starbucks kind of look. Employees seem genuinely happy, if a bit exhausted, but it didn't impact their swift service. Overall, great job! read more

I loved my experience! Starbucks is my go to spot before Sunday meets. I got to meet another car person too who works there! Amanda was so sweet and quick to get my order out and made sure my cream was correct because too much not my thing. This location is in a great spot, and they also have a drive through which is convenient. I have been to many very busy Starbucks where they have the flow going and you can get in and out pretty quickly. When I came here a couple of weeks ago, there were two people ahead of me and yet it took forever to get my drink. There was also one car at the drive through. There were three people behind the counter and one of them seemed so stressed and she was running around in a frenzy like she was under so much pressure to get drinks out during the very slow and quiet time I was there. Because she was so stressed and flustered she was moving things around and doing a whole lot of nothing except stressing the other two staff members out as well. If we are ever allowed to leave our homes again (I am writing this during the COVID-19 era), the staff at this store need to go and be trained at the Starbucks down the road in the Highlands shopping center where they are actually busy and yet get people in and out quickly and the drinks are made perfectly every time. read more

If you have the option Drive down south or go to the grocery store right next door and avoid the atrocious wait. Truly the only reason we come here is because we live down the street. We know almost every employee at this location. They are all very friendly especially Anna who we found out is moving soon. One young employee in particular is always very much not friendly and gives an attitude when we get him. We know it's him over the intercom because it's such a downer voice almost like he's beyond tired. He does get orders wrong alot and is really awkward when engaging with customers. My wife was there to view and purchase some merchandise so she knocked and asked if she can take a look. This is a very busy Starbucks on the account it has a drive thru and is located not to far off the Interstate 5. It's smaller inside than most, but does offer a nice size patio right out in front. I stopped in after having breakfast nearby to correct a number of exams. I ordered a Grande Americano and a coffee cake which I had warmed and told them it was for "here." However they still put the coffee cake in a bag so I had to ask them for a plate and fork. I don't think they listen very well. Anyways, the coffee cake was very good and came nice and warm. It was moist throughout and had a nice cinnamon crumble on top. The Americano was okay. It was a little harsh and not as smooth as I am used too, but it certainly had the kick I needed to get my paper work done. I added a little half and half and that seemed to help a bit with the harshness. The you lady at the counter was very nice, but when I asked for a plate one of the other employees, for some reason, was not as receptive. This SB was Built from ground up so it was fun to see the construction over the months . The drive thru looks efficient and isn't too busy this Saturday as I'm sitting inside the coffee shop . One issue is the temperature inside. It's nice and cool outside but hot and stuffy inside . It's almost unbearable . Barista seemed uninterested when I stood there in front of him waiting for him to say something but oh well . This is your typical Starbucks and is conveniently located in Del Mar near the 5 freeway off of Del Mar Heights on the west side! There is plenty of parking in the shopping center which is a plus. This place has great service and a nice place to chill and hang out at with ample seating inside. This Starbucks doesn't get the credit they deserve! Every morning I walk in greeted by at least 3 employees saying "good morning!" and "welcome in!" I usually order on the app and my drink is always ready when I get there. One of the ladies there (can't remember her name, but she has long, blonde hair) always makes my day. Her upbeat personality is infectious and I can tell she truly goes out of her way to make peoples day. I will say though, because it's also a drive thru Starbucks, things can get a little backed up at times (rightfully so) so prepare to wait a little longer if you order inside or at the drive thru.
