I have to be dairy free do to GI issues. Nearly every time I order an iced coffee here with almond milk, I get sick as if I consumed dairy. I get this exact same drink at other locations, no issues. I understand the risk for cross contamination cannot be guaranteed, but I was told by other baristas that only the hot drinks get made in a shared pitcher & are unsure where this location could go wrong. Not sure if they are accidentally adding cows milk into the cup before realizing. I've also had several issues with them adding whipped cream or other dairy toppings on my drink - when the sticker clearly stated NO to both. With all this issues often, I tend to take the extra few minutes to drive down to the other Dupont location. read more

I like going to this location because it's within walking distance and the people are friendly but they are sooooooooo hit or miss with the order. I pretty much ask for the same drink and for some reason they haven't gotten it right at all this week. This particular day I put extra whip because something told me they would forget to add whip. Sure enough she still didn't add any of the additional add ons that were on the label. Waited for 10 minutes as said customer continued to needlessly small talk the cashier about her residing in DuPont. The 50 plus year old male customer continued to talk to the 20 year old aged looking employee as I made several furtive movements to imply I was also waiting to make an order. Strung us along. The sign on the door says closing at 7. We get in at 4:25 and the cashier tells us they are closing at 4:30 and to have our order ready. Then after having us wait 10 minutes without ever bothering to take our order, they tell us they aren't taking any new orders. They didn't tell us on their own -- we had to ask them. Lousy service. The BEST SERVICE! A bit of a story but you need the background: Ordering for your small children is a challenge, always! So the order ended up being wrong (Instead of a tall milk we got a chocolate milk, which my son despises). I honestly believe it was my mistake, but I could not convince them otherwise! In the end, they returned the money for the chocolate purchase AND gave me a tall cup of milk! There's a new frappe in town and we ain't talking unicorns. The Horchata Almond Milk Frappucino had made its debut earlier this week so you know I had to check it out! First off, when you order it they ask if you want it with a coffee or cream base so of course I opt for coffee. They may be using almond milk but this drink is still topped with whipped cream so it's NOT dairy free. Taking that first sip gave me Deja Vu because it tastes close to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Frappe on their secret menu, except this one has more caramel versus white mocha and hazelnut. There is a subtle horchata flavor but it wasn't enough for my taste; still delicious though. If you don't have much of a sweet tooth, I recommend getting something else like anything Chai Tea! The flavors closely resemble that of their Horchata Frappe but less sweet and more satisfying (my go-to)! Oh, and don't mix the whipped cream in, just wait until you reach it at the bottom of the cup because once I did that, it changed the taste of the drink. Or is that just me? read more

Usually great, quick service. Baristas are super friendly. However there's been so many times where I will pick up my mobile order - and my iced coffee has whipped cream, despite my label clearly stating "No whip". Its just a preference and I don't really care to sit there and have them remake (plus usually have no time when picking up on my way to work) - but it is pretty annoying, as I typically pour my coffee into a reusable cup since I can't use clear cups at work, and I hate the whipped cream getting mixed in. Just wish they'd take a second before adding whipped cream on a drink to see if there a "no whip" note or not. read more

Incredible customer service! I missed the ordering panel at the drive-through on my way up to Seattle, and one of the baristas - a young dude with semi-long curly hair - ran out and was at my car roughly by the time I realized I'd screwed up. I was so impressed that I stopped in on the way back (and went inside this time), and Min - another barista - was a total ray of sunshine. I feel like you probably get made fun of by your coworkers if you get called a total ray of sunshine, but it's true, Min was a delight. First things first, I know that Dupont has developed a little over the past few years but this 'Bucks location is in the worst place. This parking lot is beyond terrible. There are three restaurants right next to 'Bucks in that shopping center and the parking lot itself is majorly too small. Anyone that has come here in the morning or during lunch hours has probably had a hard time entering or exiting. If you want to spend half your lunch making pinpoint turns to avoid hitting people in the drive thru as you backup or avoid driving forward into the line of cars parking in front of Subway, Dominos, or I-Sushi, then by all means go to this location. Also, in the morning the drive thru line basically blocks traffic. There are never any parking spaces so even if you want to get out and stand in line inside the 'Bucks instead of sitting in the drive thru, you're basically stuck. It is kind of nice they have outdoor and indoor seating and wi-fi. On a alternate note, there really isn't any competition for coffee in Dupont. Lord knows Washingtonians love their coffee and are willing to wait for it. The few times I've been here though the food items are great and usually piping hot. The people have also been reasonably nice as well and have never messed up my order. The drive thru does move pretty quickly though during most hours of the day. Sadly though it's about the coffee and drinks. I would rather go elsewhere for coffee that has more flavor and doesn't taste watered down or overpowered with sugar. I've ordered items without coffee like the Oprah Chai, the regular chai, the green tea frapp, the vanilla frapp, the passion tea lemonade (which isn't on the menu), and others and they're just...ok. I don't even drink coffee that often so you can take this review with a grain of salt....or sugar....whichever. read more

Normally they're pretty good here however the last time I went in the cashier had a very careless attitude and seemed so tired of her job and just plain annoyed that there were even customers in her presence. Just today I went through the drive through and all was well for the most part until they handed me my drink which is usually shaken but looked like the ingredients had just been poured on top of each other in the cup. On top of that when I used the straw it didn't stir well and when I took a sip it was all syrup. So I took the cup out of the cup holder to swirl it around and the lid popped off and went all over my lap! Then I had to drink what I could and take the lid off while stirring and it still looks partially separated. You might want to rethink how you hire people and how you make drinks. Shame. read more

However, they are ALWAYS out of oat milk and any other drink I order in replace of a cold brew with oat milk is never made correctly. Ordered a matcha latte and received it barely shaken with powder stuck to the sides of the cup and all over the bottom. I asked them to shake it a bit more and the woman at the drive through window had them remake it and was very rude about it. She was very passive aggressive, ignoring me and not saying anything as she handed me the new drink. Previous to this I was trying to be as polite as possible, saying please, thank you and sorry and understanding that this is an annoying thing to ask. They were rude and I will avoid this starbucks in the future. Im having the worst evening. It's dark outside and raining. Hate driving in this weather. Traffic backed up for miles from the unfortunate Amtrak derailment crash, had me in forever long traffic to find myself here. Trying to find a route around it and ended up getting lost. But I found this Starbucks of course. I had the craziest crapiest look on my face. I admit I would be characterized as 'that customer'. Regardless, these ladies were smiling and still treating me with respect and appreciation. I cant say how much that means to me. It means everything that they were so friendly and sweet. Just left here. Ordered 3 drinks from the drive-thru. 2 were incorrect. Ordered a kids hot chocolate and it was WAY TOO HOT. I thankfully caught that before my kiddo burned herself. Line is always pretty long for drive thru, especially during the COVID-19, but doors have finally opened up and I put in a mobile order and it was perfect! Being the only Starbucks drive-thru on the way to JBLM has got to be difficult every single morning and I understand that, but barista's you have one job and that is to make coffee and give it to coffee lovers to start their day off right. Now, I understand this is a lot of pressure because this makes or brakes someones day. HOWEVER, the last few days of my morning have been a bit rocky and this why.... If someone asks for a drip coffee, why is it that the person needs to request a coffee stopper? Without a coffee stopper I would need to keep my lips sucked to my cup the remainder of the way to work to avoid spilling my coffee all over the car or better yet my lap - Tip # 1. Tip #2 if you insist on filling my coffee to the brim of the cup please provide napkins that way again the coffee doesn't spill all over my lap, car or over the side of the cup where the seem meets the top of the cup. Although, these two tips may seem minuscule I promise you this will make not only my mornings better, but also other coffee drinking patrons who have no other choice but to go to this Starbucks for coffee on their way to work. read more

As I work in DuPont this is my go to Starbucks on my way to/from work. They consistently make my drink correctly and have good customer service. Sometimes they can be on the slow side, especially weekday mornings before 8. I've been late to meetings twice trying to get a coffee here at 7:30, so now unless I have a good 15 mins to spend getting coffee before having to hit I5 then I don't even risk it. I've been here multiple times and never had I left thinking "wow I love this drink" but its convenient when I'm driving up to Tacoma so I usually come back when I'm desperate.
