I walked in to study and get some homework done at this location since it is so near my home and I love their outside seating. As I approached the counter; I asked Elli for a water (As I go find seating and figure out what I'd like to eat) I am immediately asked if I had already made a purchase or else I cannot be provided the water let alone stay to continue doing my homework unless a purchase is made first. I expressed how I was going to make a purchase, I just wanted a moment to settle down. I also expressed that I felt 100% uncomfortable because no other location has denied me water even if I actually wasn't sitting in or making a further purchase. I don't know the coffee is just mediocre, it's never hot .There's flies all inside the store and it's just a very mediocre experience compared to the other Starbucks in the city. Love how this location is 24hrs which is convenient. Been here several times. It can get very busy. Parking is limited however, you may park at the plaza parking. Drive thru is also tight. Service is always great. I'm thankful that my drinks have been on point. read more

This Starbucks is always packed, and the traffic flow getting in is a bit of a headache. You really need to use the intersection to access the lot as there is only one direction that works cleanly. Parking is also a challenge because the drive-thru lane cuts through the middle, which clogs up the lot quickly. Once you're inside, though, it's spacious and clean, with a solid setup and even a small patio if you want to sit outside. Bathrooms are available but require a code. I found the baristas to be more focused on speed than customer engagement, which I get as this place stays busy. Drinks came out correct and in a reasonable time, so I appreciate the efficiency. Located in Tacoma Place this coffee shop is busy most of the time. Parking in their area is a bit chaotic and people come and go to grab their fuel for their body. Came here coz bandit wanted to have some coffee before hitting the road for a three hour drive. Of course I got mine too and yeap, it has coffee (took my pill before started my sip. Staff ain't the friendliest. Ambiance is pretty cool. And t'was clean inside too. Took them at least 15-20mins before they hand us our order. It's a bit long for me but all good. They did a good job in making our coffee though. Would love to grab my next Tacoma Starbucks here as this is one of the closest location in my Tita's place. Do not try to come to this place after dark. While they are open until 11 pm according to their app and it lets you place a mobile order, you can't actually go in to get it or use the lobby. Disappointing to say the least aftrr a long drive to pull off to this stop to a mobile ordered item and have to wait at the door in the dark. Totally understand if this is their protocol but they shouldn't have inside mobile orders set up and show as fully open on the app if it is closed off to drive thru only. read more

What a great place to enjoy a beverage or snack. Our power was out at home and my daughter had homework to finish, so we decided to check this Starbucks out. It is a very neat little place. I loved the seating arrangements and atmosphere. They had good relaxing and joyous music, which we enjoyed a lot. Our beverages were delicious. I got my usual white chocolate mocha, no whip. There is outlets to connect your electronics if needed. Everyone was pretty friendly and polite. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their time with friends or family and doing things on their laptops or tablets. We chose this location because of their closing time. The website showed they were opened 24hrs however we were told they would be closing at 11pm. That's pretty much the only issue I had even thought it wasn't their fault but the website. Overall we were happy to be in a neat place, she finished her homework, we enjoyed our beverage and glad we went to this location. We will definitely be visiting again. Cannot believe I've never yelped my favorite Star location!! Tonight I was here twice. My first stop was for a hot Americano & orange cranberry scone then added a reduced fat turkey bacon breakfast sandwich for the morning. The customer service was outstandingly & to top my night was the car ahead paid for my order. Thank you Thank you, Mucho Gracias, Domo Arigato & Danke ... Sorry car behind me couldn't afford your order.. On a good note, I came back around for a Steak egg & tomatillo sauce wrap another breakfast sandwich & Americano.. Thrilled and so thankful this location is open late. None of the locations near me are open after 8 so I'm usually left with Gravity or Big Foot, which I find desperately sub par. Whilst in Tacoma running errands, this was a pleasant surprise. Drive thru line was long but moved quickly, the service was friendly and efficient, and our drinks were perfect. This is my favorite Starbucks; the staff is always friendly, my order is made fast both at drive thru and in store, and as a bonus inside they have the most amazing mural with tropical leaves and parrots. There is one thing though. When it's busy, people form two lanes at the drive thru and they block the parking lot. I wish there was a better signage for people to enter drive thru from the proper lane without blocking cars in the parking lot or cars exiting the drive thru. I visit this location frequently and learned to park far away, otherwise it is possible to get stuck behind a bunch of cars entering drive thru from the wrong lane for a few minutes. As someone who frequents Starbucks OFTEN (I should probably slow down) this is by far one of the better ones. And I'm so surprised by some of the reviews. If you follow my reviews then you know for sure that I am 100% honest about what I'm writing and I do not sugar coat. NOW with that being said, I feel it is only right for me to address some of the things in the reviews. Getting orders wrong//making drinks wrong-Yes this happens here. As it does at a lot of other Starbucks. Literally. And this Starbucks just happens to be in a busy location and is busy 24/7. I've never NOT seen this Starbucks with multiple cars in the drive thru and parking lot. That can tell you something. Yes they messed up on 1 of my orders and when I told them they fixed it. Rude staff-I do not doubt that you may have experienced a rude staff member here. I came across a male that was immensely nonchalant in the taking of my order and correction of said order but the other staff members made up for that. This is my favorite Starbucks in Tacoma. When I'm in Tacoma if I want Starbucks I will go out of my way just to go to this one. I've had staff mess up my order, realize it before I realized it, and rectified the situation. I think this particular Starbucks is judged too hard. My personal opinion. Btw. They make the best match green tea latte at this location. In general I make my own coffee at home. But Starbucks is great for breakfast sandwiches, protein boxes, and iced teas. I am also a fan of their travel cups, as they seem to last me forever. This location is filled with pleasant baristas, especially ones that work early in the morning. I do not recommend coming here if you are in a hurry or have a tight time frame, as they are always busy, and the drive thru wait can have you sitting for up to 20 minutes. I would like to see an improvement in expediting orders for drive thru customers, as the wait can be frustrating. read more

There are no designated signs for a person doing a mobile pickup. It's very inconvenient for someone who has never been to this location and very inconsiderate of them to not say anything when I was knocking on the door to see if I had to go in the drive-thru line to pick up my order. I say this because at my normal Starbucks there's a sign telling customers what time they close the doors and let's them know they need to go in the drive-thru. Will probably never go here again since I'm only visiting but thought they should know. Also, they made my drink wrong when it clearly says it on the label. How does that happen? read more

The reason I am leaving 2 stars is, this is the second time i have been to this place in less than a month where my order was not correct or missing. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it had cheese and butter on it. Mind you, I ordered a ham, cheese and egg sandwich.... curious why the other toppings were missing. My most recent experience. I went through the drive thru. I ordered my sandwich and drink.. the barista repeats my order back to me. I drive up to pay, my sandwich wasn't even added to my order... very frustrating when you have confirmed the order and are told to pull forward and they don't even have your order correct. Not sure what's going on with this place, but the fact this has happened more than once in less than a months time frame is very frustrating. read more

Parking can be a hassle sometimes since it is a tiny one and you might have to park in another lot. It is always busy here all day and afternoon.
