This Starbucks employs some of the rudest staff I have encountered at any Starbucks location. They place your drink on the mobile pickup counter and don't say word. Then after you wait for what seems like an excessively long time and then ask how much longer it will be, you get "it's over there" in response. Then after saying I've been standing right in front of you this whole time, why didn't you say something instead of just letting me stand there like an idiot?, I got a VERY snotty hissy fit and a "yes I did!" Note to management-- please teach your staff that handing a customer their change with coins laying on top of the bills is NOT the way to do it. And please mark a designated spot for picking up drinks that are not for a mobile order. It is not at all evident where to pick up. Starbucks employees need training on how not to be rude to customers. And by the way -- when someone pays over $9 of their hard earned money for two coffees, a simple "thank you!" is in order. read more

I've been going to this Starbucks for a long time. The experience here is either really good or really bad; no in-between. Early morning staff are really rude. I get being awake early as hell making coffee for annoying people can be really gruesome but common. I have a shit/emotionally draining job too, but I find a way to be nice to people regardless of how i'm feeling that day. I ordered a shaken espresso and it wasn't shaken at all I had to shake it outside my car in the parking lot.. isn't a shaken espresso supposed to be..idk...shaken while you make it..?? not only was it not shaken but it was 98 percent milk so this morning I drank what tasted like cereal milk. read more

The service and drinks here meet expectations. The location is the only negative. Too many pre-teens and teens are dropped-off by parents looking to outsource babysitting duties to the Starbucks staff and it's patrons. The children run around like toddlers in a day care leaving garbage behind. their parents eventually remember they have children and double-park in front of the store to block traffic and inconvenience everyone further. read more

Finally! An area Starbucks with a drive through. Stopped by to try the Blonde Roast. I am not a coffee fan but the commercials tempted me to give blonde roast a try. I do not particularly care for coffee but it is a great way to warm yourself up on a cold day. Ordered the vanilla blonde latte. It was very good and I will order it again. It is definitely milder than the usual and the after taste is lighter. All and all, a great addition. read more

Not a fan of this place. Sure, the one in Des Plaines is lacking in their drive thru service accuracy (I was stuffed a venti drink), but at least they were decent on civility. But not this EGV store - I got no customer service. So, they get no tip. It's as easy as that. I had to get my own drink holder from behind the counter and got no bag for my food. Very not cool. Sorry but not sorry, I can't justify any tip if I wasn't served properly, and I am not expecting Elite preferential service or a ZJ. Be decent, and help me get my coffee and food in a decent manner, and no, too busy is not a thing or an excuse. I worked in the food industry and there is always time for the customer. Anything else is bullshit. Otherwise, to sum this up: drive thru seems efficient and quick, employees make the drinks and food competently, inside had quite a bit of space with many tables and chairs, and ample parking, as it is in a shopping mall. It'll do in a pinch, but may consider not going to Starbucks in the future in general. Not happy with their people skills. Have you ever lifted up the hood of a brand new car and watched the belts rotate while the car was running? Have you ever been to a manufacturing facility and seen machinists run their equipment and work in perfect fluency? These are both really good comparisons to how Elk Grove Village's Starbucks is run! The employees each have a job. They each know their role. Everyone works together as a team and to top it all off, they are prompt in their beverage preparation with a smile. I appreciate a little small talk at the drive thru window while I wait for my Grande Soy Latte with half caramel and half vanilla. I like interaction between myself and the barista. They are PEOPLE, not just coffee makers. If you want a coffee maker, go buy one at Bed Bath & Beyond. These are people making delicious overpriced caffinated beverages and I love them. Unfortunately, I can't drink Starbucks coffee black because it's just way to acidic for me but I love a good Latte from them on special occasions...like Tuesday, for example. The drive thru may have a long line but it moves. The layout of the parking lot was well thought out for being the closest starbucks I know of to the Elk Grove Industrial Park and busiest location I have ever seen with my own eyes. They get you in and out pretty quickly and if you are in a hurry, McDonald's is in the same parking lot and they also provide caffeinated beverages...may I suggest a large diet coke with easy ice? There are a few pot holes in the lot so be careful and there are people entering and exiting the building regularly, so no speeding through their lot but other than that, I love Starbucks lately. I use the app to earn my stars. You can load an amount of money on to your account and just let them scan your phone's barcode to keep track of your purchases. If there isn't a line, have them ring stuff up separately. I haven't personally done this but I have heard from others that do. This way you earn stars faster to get to the gold. Fortunately for them, every time I go, they have a decent line forming so I don't punish the staff by making them ring items up separately. They brew decaf in smaller batches because it's not the most common coffee ever but typically, they will be able to whip you up some pretty quickly and have you on your way. Love you Starbucks. I stopped by this morning to get a White Mocha chocolate coffee for me and breakfast for my husband and my 4 year old. They messed up my breakfast and didn't even apologize!!! I walked out in a rush with my coffee and my cup was not full it was 1/4 empty and did not realized that until I left their location. I will post a picture of my cofee cup. I am not a happy customer. I believe that for the money paid I should at least get a full cup and better service!!! read more

I'm not real sure what people are complaining about. You can't really be mad at Starbucks if the food rewards are good for only one item. It says right on the reward that it's ITEM, not ITEMS. And yes, you should probably buy something if you're going to spend hours there studying. It's not a public library. It's a business. Be reasonable, people. That being said, I love this location. It's never crazy busy, and I never have to worry about getting face-kicked by an unruly pack of children whose parents are nowhere to be seen (as has been the case in other locations); making this Starbucks location one of the best places to study. The staff is also always friendly, and more times than not, I've had a good chat and laugh with the drive thru workers who are usually always very personable, even at 7am. It can get a bit chilly inside, but hello. We live in Chicagoland, and the place is made of glass windows (like almost every other Starbucks location in America and probably the world). Around these parts, you should've mastered the art of layering around the age of 3. If you haven't, it's never too late to learn. The only downside is that the staff can get a bit loud in regular chit chat with each other, but hey. It's never a bad thing that a group of people who work together enjoy talking and get along. I'd rather they be loud in friendly conversation than in nasty arguing. Just ask them to quiet it down a bit, and they're usually pretty cool. read more

I went through the drive-through last night and was at the speaker told the girl what I wanted..... she didn't understand, so I asked her if I should drive up.... she said yes. I then drive up to the window, told her what I wanted, and she stood there looking at me and said nothing.....I then asked if she had what I wanted, she said yes. She went to the fridge looked at it for 5 minutes, started to walk back, then walked back to the fridge and looked at it for another 2 minutes. I then decided to go inside to help her. I went to the fridge, grabbed what I wanted, gave it to her, and said I would also like 4 sugar cones. She stood there and looked at me for a minute.... walked over to the case and held one up and said this? I said yes.... then she proceeded to hand them to me in my hands. I've been going to the Starbucks in the Biesterfied/Arl Hts Rd location during my work hours for no more than four hours at least three times a week at this location & find this a nice place to get some work done. The morning crew is very friendly & the customer service is fantastic! The morning Manager & staff kept the flow moving to get every customers beverage and/or breakfast processed & them out the door. Even when I was in today, she made sure the place was kept clean & the floor spotless with the everyone dragging the snow & salt from their shies inside. Kudos to this Manager & her team! read more

Spent a good five hours at the Starbucks after having lunch with my husband. It's pretty roomy with various seating options: booth seating, communal high top tables, low leather loungers. Plenty of electrical outlets, including some that are built into/under the tables. Noise level is just right and it was easy to find a table after lunch on a Friday afternoon. Barristas are super nice and quick! This location is such a better alternative to the crazy one on Martingale Road! They also have a drive-thru window if you're looking for a quick pick me up! Warning: There must be a high school nearby. Expect teenagers to invade around 3:30pm. read more

You know, you write enough Starbucks reviews, you start catching yourself with repetitive sentences and phrases. This spot is nice, clean and big. I liked it a lot more than the locations in Los Angeles where I'm from. The only setback is they are on Elk Grove Village time and not on Los Angeles-blaze-a-trail-of-fire-getting-drinks-out time. Amazing Starbucks!! Always see the employees working hard to get drinks right, while accommodating and connecting with the customers. Very good at rectifying any errors as well. Friendly. Fast. Accurate. That's pretty much the holy trinity when it comes to Starbucks, especially concerning the drive thru. I often swing into this 'Bucks on my way to the airport as the drive thru hasn't failed me yet. The employees are committed your caffeine fix and have consistently churned out my order exactly as I request. Location wise, it's a pretty easy in/out off of Biesterfield Rd, with just a little jog around the parking lot to pop into the drive thru line. 4 stars for a solid Starbucks in Elk Grove. read more

I'm a Starbucks addict. I never thought I would be, but it happened. I go to Starbucks at least 5 times a week...sometimes even 2-3 times in one day. So, I was ecstatic when I first noticed the sign here that they were setting up shop. That was only a few weeks ago. They work quick. And yesterday was opening day. I was impressed right when I walked in. This Starbucks is spacious...seating area in the front of the house, coffee bar/counter in the back. There are many seating options: long tables, high tables, or a lounge area (booths/sofas). Easy to get some work done here, or chat and have coffee with friends, or just have a cup of coffee and read the paper. Design/Decor is nicer than any other Starbucks I've been to. Maybe it's the 'brand-newness' but I like how this one is laid out and furnished. It's in a perfect location too...right in the middle of EGV, right down the street from the hospital, in a plaza that's easy to get in and out of. The only thing is that there's not much parking but they do have a drive-through. I ordered my usual and it was prepared quickly and perfectly. I spoke with the staff who were all chipper and friendly. They had a 'soft' opening on Thursday to welcome the neighborhood, but yesterday was the first day of full service. They admitted there were a few kinks they had to work out in the morning, but by the time I got there later in the day, it looked to me they were able to work it all out and had it going on. This space has historically had trouble keeping shops in it (a few restaurants previously located here have gone by the wayside)...I have a feeling Starbucks is going to generate a lot of traffic in this plaza. I also have a feeling I'm going to be a regular here because I'm not looking to kick my coffee habit anytime soon : ) read more

THIS IS THE BEST STARBUCKS. Seriously Starbucks is consistently INCONSISTENT and I always order the same drink. This is the only location (and has been my regular for a while now) and I've been meaning to say how much I love this location but today just pushed me. I went to the addison Starbucks and go figure, they ruined my drink. The same drink I always order, every day, all the time, it was gross. So I took it here and asked if possible I can have them remake it. I was intending to pay still bc it was not their fault but the guy working helped me for the inconvenience. Not only did he make my drink correctly but was very nice about it and understanding I like it a certain way. People complain about a lot of dumb shit but I just wanted to say that this location is the best and the people are the best so thanks and keep it up :) read more

I've been here a couple times to meet up with my newsletter team. I still find it funny that coffee shops are THE place to do work and study. Anyway, we decided to meet here to plan our newsletter. It got a little confusing though, because there is a Starbucks inside the Dominicks across the street. Actually, I think that one shows up first in search results. Anyway, the inside is very open and cozy. There are plenty of seats and tables depending on your group size. Technically, I'm not sure if you're required to order something in order to be there, but I'd feel crappy if I didn't so I usually go with a hot chocolate since our meetings are late and I don't want to be wired and not be able to sleep. The staff is pretty nice, but they're young and goof off sometimes which is a little annoying, but what can they really do if it's not busy? It's pretty quiet in there. No one is blasting music or being really obnoxious and since it's in EGV, there aren't many people to bug you anyway. They also have a drive thru and a good amount of parking. I'll keep coming back here for future meetings and if I'm ever in EGV and need a coffee fix. read more

Be careful what you order as you apparently have to ask if everything is in stock which I feel the staff should know! Ordered a dragon fruit lemonade, got a kiwi one. The guy said, 'hmmm, not sure how they messed THAT up!' (maybe all 5 gals were not truly paying attention?! Not sure; just a lot of laughing going on together, so it could be) The guy comes back and says, 'oh, we gave you that because we're out of the berries that go in the dragon fruit drink.' I feel the guy that rang me up should have known that so maybe put an '86' sign up so EVERYONE knows what's not available, staff and customer! Needed it to take my medicine but should have gotten a refund and given them the drink back. read more

Eh - what can you say? It's a corporate coffee joint - it's decent but it lacks that unique character that an indie coffee shop has. It's an okay place to study/work, but the exceedingly loud timers used they use (and don't shut off for minutes at a time) make it hard to concentrate a lot of the time. Similarly, the height of the tables/seats seems just a bit off - as if to make it slightly uncomfortable to sit and work for extended periods of time. Subtle, but real... and probably understandable, but also problematic for telecommuters like me. read more

Ran across this Starbucks on my way back from Rockford in June. Needed to get some work done and wasn't ready to tackle rush hour on the Kennedy. I'll drive over from Lakeview/Chicago once every few weeks or so to knock out a few hours of work and maybe get in a Busse Woods walk before heading home. The fact that I'm willing to drive 25 miles to comes here when there must be dozens of Starbucks between here and home tells you something. As mentioned, this place is huge. They have high tables, low tables, comfy armchairs, a 6 top and two 10 tops plus a few outside tables. There's a padded bench along one wall. That helps somewhat with the pain of sitting for too long. I've found the staff to be quite friendly. They've even thought to slice my grilled cheese sandwich in half before nuking it. At least over the summer, they keep the place well air conditioned so bring a sweater or a stadium blanket -- had to retrieve the blanket from my car on a day I wore shorts. This place seems to do a rocking drive thru business though there's plenty of parking since it's in a strip center. I do plan my trips around rush hour since it's a bit of a hike but it's worth the drive to me for the occasional visit. read more

I am a little torn about this place... sometimes it is perfect, sometimes not so much. Let me start by saying that I have been frequenting [probably at LEAST twice a month - mostly the drive through] this location for the last 2 years - yes, I know I have a Starbucks problem... I have looked into stock... Sometimes service is impeccable, they nail the drink right on the head, provide me a napkin when I order a snack or sandwich in the drive through, are friendly, etc. ... then there are other times when I come and it's like I have been through a time warp or something. I've had everything from the drink being made wrong, forgetting the green stopper [seems small but is a greatly appreciated aspect of the drive through], and odd service. Odd being that its not necessarily rude, but its not friendly either. I have seen the same person most times than I can count and it seems like a hit or miss with their attitude. Still a much better Starbucks overall than some others, and the drive through is a fantastic feature, just a little curious with the inconsistent service. read more

Very disappointed in this location. I have been ordering the same iced passion tea lemonade for years and this location always finds a way to ruin it. On one occasion, there was no lemonade in the tea, so I politely asked them if they could add some in. Much to my surprise, the barista snatched my drink, tossed it, and proceeded to remake it. This time, however, she added tap WATER to the drink, thinking I wasn't looking. This is absolutely unacceptable and childish behavior that simply shouldn't be tolerated by management.
