Every time you stand at the front counter for at least three or four minutes while you get ignored by the five people behind the counter. I'm a delivery driver I was just told that in order to get water ( that we all need and love) I was given a few times free but because I asked for some aqua today no more free water unless I purchase some overpriced coffee ect, i think Starbucks are a greedy corporation that only addresses the wants of the corporate pencil pushers and not the small guy who gives them the opportunity to sell more then they would otherwise not get, I support the decisions to not be so regimental with their ridiculous excuses not to support the people who are helping the company I will go out of my way to support the companies that are rival coffee shops like Dm or the small startups just know that I will advocate a better approach to the industry its people that make or break companies read more

We've stopped at this location many times over the years. This last weekend was our first stop since their remodel. We will not be returning. By taking all of the seating /tables out of the building, Starbucks has made their position very clear : "we are happy to take your money but we don't care at all about our customer's needs or comfort. Please leave". We had a young family with us which included their two small children. And no place to sit- No table- except a few very dusty tables for two outside. It was miserable trying to juggle kids, food and drinks while hunkered around a small table for two. It's also not enjoyable to be enveloped in car exhaust when those parked start their cars two feet from your table. When it's 100 degrees or freezing outside that's going to be real nice for patrons too. But that's doesn't matter to Starbucks apparently. There's plenty of other good coffee places out there. Anyone driving along I-90 knows the pains of stopping at the Starbucks here. Long car lines in a congested parking lot, too many people inside at once, long lines to use the restrooms, and not enough parking are the main problems you will encounter here. Orders also take a really long time here as there are usually 10+ people in here at any given time waiting for orders. Your best bet for getting your needed snacks and drinks is to order ahead when you're 15 minutes away so you can just park at the gas station and send someone over to pick up the order. The saving grace for this location is that the baristas are friendly and patient. They manage to stay calm and collected even when crowds get overwhelming. read more

The care that goes into the beverages and their creation here is absurdly complex, and somehow they come out just right every time - despite the baristas going ham, always working on 3 drinks at once. If I could give zero stars I would. I placed a mobile order for instore pick up, I get there and the lobby is closed due to "staffing shortages". There was still 3 employees working so not sure why they can't have the lobby open? I drive a van that is too tall for the drive thru so I parked in the lot and walked to the window. They told me they could not serve walk up customers. I asked for a refund, she said they cannot refund mobile orders. So then she did hand me my latte and I could tell just from the color that my order wasn't right, I told her that and she said "um lattes have milk" and I said you know what nevermind, and walked away. The fact that this is the only Starbucks in town with a drive thru makes my heart sad. I've literally had my order screwed up here more times than it's been right, that is not a joke The mobile app (which is not their fault) rarely works with this location so there have been numerous times where I order ahead and it's not ready or they "didn't ever get it". Which wouldn't be a huge deal if I didn't have someone tell me they'll put it in and get it out right away, pay, only to wait another ten minutes. I've tried to call in an order 15 mins before I got there, to have the girl tell me she forgot, order and pay again, and she still gets it wrong. I LOVE Starbucks and have been loyal to them for years, but think I need to learn my lesson and stick to locations with better customer service and consistency. The Campus Location by CWU is excellent, prompt and has a very sweet staff. I think it's worth going out of my way to avoid the headache. read more

I've visited this Starbucks in Ellensburg twice now on road trips this year. It's a good place to stop for breakfast or a snack, refill your favorite caffeine and use the restroom. Both times there was a line of three to four people in front of us. But it was no problem. The staff here seem well trained, efficient and very friendly. They have all the same food and drinks you'd expect a Starbucks to have. But what makes this store stand out is convenience. It's located next to a Shell gas station so it's especially good for travelers. You can refuel yourself AND your car in almost the same stop off of the highway! Ha! Plus this Starbucks has an excellent clearance section. Most stores I see just have a small basket for clearance items. This store has a full three shelves! Love it! And yes I did buy a pretty new travel mug that was on sale on my last visit. Love the aqua! Wish they'd bring back the rose gold. read more

He took my order for an Orange spiced iced latte (and recommended that I get it with milk) and then I waited (and waited). When people behind me got there drinks - I wondered what was up. This is an easy on/off the freeway but the parking lot is tight and shared with the other fast food places next door. This can be problematic but has never stopped me from getting my coffee here while traveling through the area. I did try something new: the pumpkin spice chai tea latte. Unfortunately, it tasted so good that I'll be having that drink a few more times this fall. Yes, it contains a substantial amount of sugar, but it tastes so much like FALL. I realize that this is a TEA (what am I thinking?), but I've been contemplating having a dirty chai (adding a shot). I even think that there is a descriptive word for a double shot added to a chai. Starbucks, starbucks. Mostly the same but they aren't really if you look closer. This one has smiling people working here amidst the chaos of both ped traffic and a drive-thru. Super clean, hard to do with a lot if people soilling things so yahoo for that effort, and the cream was filled which is a bonus with so many people using it. I asked, and was told yes, then he realised they were out, but he further offered me Comfort tea! I adi d to see the ingredients and he handed me the bad with a huge sincere smile! This is really close to a 5-star​ location. Open early to late and just off the highway...this is an absolute staple for anyone traveling on I-90. That being said...it tends to be BUSY. They keep it well staffed so the orders move pretty quickly...but there is often a long line...for both coffee and the bathrooms (worth the wait if you are traveling! beats any rest stop:). The baristas are really upbeat and my coffee usually comes out well (any mistakes have been fixed without a fuss). The only negative really is the high traffic. I couldn't imagine working at this location and being able to focus. They keep up with it mostly...but the number of people does mean that the cafe gets a bit cluttered. The parking lot is really tiny and the quarters are tight. There is a lot all of 50 yards away that is massive if you have a truck or if things are overflowing. read more

Horrible service which is a shock at this location. The elderly woman was slow, rude and in the end I received a luke warm cup of coffee that was most likely poured long before I arrived. Starbucks is a traditional stop on long road trips for my friend and I, but we didn't stop for a pick me up until halfway thru our journey on Sunday. Seemed like a good place for a potty stop, too. The parking lot was a bit small for the pick up truck, so we parked at the lot to the south. Disappointingly, one of the two bathrooms was closed for maintenance so we had to wait a long time for our turn. But this provided us time to observe the many, many workers and the abysmally slow service. I counted no fewer than 10 aproned folks scurrying about. We waited a long time in line (especially long since there were only 2 people in front of me at the time), where a seemingly new employee was being trained, and she was the only one taking orders (aside from the drive thru). After I placed my order, I waited another 10 minutes to get the drink, as there appeared to be only one person making drinks for the front counter, and my friend who ordered ahead of me was still waiting....they lost her order somehow. Overall, a less than stellar performance for a full staff who all looked busy but seemed to be producing little. read more
