If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I entered this location at 5pm on Christmas Eve after spending the afternoon exploring Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. We brought our family in to use the bathroom and order hot chocolate. The restrooms were blocked off and there was an employee standing at the entrance. When I asked her politely if we could please use the restroom as my 6 year old desperately needed to go to the bathroom, she rudely responded "no, they are closed". No amount of pleading would change her mind. It is unacceptable that this location closed their restrooms down 30 min prior to close and inconvenienced multiple customers. My family will not be returning to this Starbucks. read more

I have no political or social agenda against doing business with a national chain. What sets this one apart, as other reviewers have said, is the patio outside their back door. The Estes Park River Walk is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places to sit and enjoy a coffee in the entire state of Colorado. The coffee was great, but it was a little hectic and crazy.... It was busy, crammed and I am honestly pretty grouchy before I get my coffee. The coffee was good, we ordered an extra shot but we were unsure if we received one. There were five employees behind the counter but only two were working... One ringing up the huge line of customers and another making all the drinks. The other two baristas were literally just standing there. The location is hard to beat. I currently work at a Starbucks in New York City and I came here visiting family, I visited this Starbucks and put in a big order of 4 drinks, and they made all three of them wrong, I asked for one to be remade and got sas from the older barista, and my drink was made incorrect as well, and I would have asked it to be remade but I didn't want my family to wait longer, so I let it slide. I have been to a lot of starbucks, but this store went beyond my expectation. The restrooms smelled nice and looked clean. The store was spacious. And above all, the staffs were very respectful and kind, which sadly I found this very rare in many starbucks. I ordered venti hot coffee with extra room, but upon the suggestion of the barrista, she told me it would be better to order grande hot coffee in venti cup. Oh boy, why I didn't think that before. Now I can save 30 cents for every order of hot coffee. Thank you very much, kind barrista!! :) read more

Pretty big location that was bustling with people being that it is right in the heart of Estes Park. I didn't see a private lot specific for this location, so you'll just have to put your bets on getting lucky with street parking. The service was speedy and the staff was friendly enough, but I didn't like that they don't actually use their bar to serve finished drinks. They put it up on the counter right next to their espresso machines, so you have to reach over to grab your drink and then go back to the bar if you need straws, etc. I think the reason for this is probably because the counter is a little closer to the barista so they don't need to waste time by walking a couple of extra steps to place the drink on the bar. That's fair enough, as I understand it can get hectic with long lines and every second counts. But I was waiting for an iced venti water by the bar after I had grabbed my espresso drink. The barista did see that I was waiting by the bar, so she came over to place the water in front of me, but was in such a hurry to get back to the espresso machine that she placed the water down rather quickly where it wasn't stable and the whole thing tilted over, water flooded all over, and it just so happened that my iphone was right in the middle of it. Luckily I was able to grab my phone and dry it offer quick so there was no damage done, and the barista was apologetic enough about it. read more

There was one woman in front of me trying to redeem a free drink for about 5 minutes to no avail. The woman ringing her up was pleasant, but the FOUR other people behind the counter didn't do anything but talk loudly about an employee who called in to work two hours before his shift. I felt like I was on a hidden camera show... It was so completely obnoxious. No one offered to get my order started, they all purposely avoided eye contact. I even said "hi, excuse me" a couple of times, but they completely ignored me. Such rude customer service. read more

If you are lucky enough to drive through the quaint town of Estes you need to stop here. The coffee is as good as any other starbucks. It's the back, outdoor sitting area you need to check out. You get to get your caffeine jolt while also watching the water rush by! The whole area is quite lovely. While visiting Estes Park, stopped by for my morning red eye. I'm not sure if the locals like weak coffee but mine barely had any flavor at all. Back home in Houston it's always very flavorful. This stuff tasted like they were having a coffee shortage. If I hadn't added the espresso shot (if they added it) it would've tasted like hot water! They need to go ahead and put the normal amount coffee in the brewer and bite the bullet! Cmon Starbucks you're better than this! Staff was fine. Coffee not so much. read more

I am a loyal Starbucks regular and most of the time, this store is much like any other. I have noticed however that the staff here often seem stressed and anxious, and I believe that this is in part because they seem like they are constantly understaffed. I was also unfortunate enough to overhear some of the younger employees gossiping rather crudely about another employee who was not there. read more

We especially recommend Kate if she's there, she's one of the kinder and more gracious baristas we've had in a while! She made the Starbucks feel personal and warm. This Starbucks has an amazing location, as other reviewers have said. However, I also found that they must have taken the customer service issues to heart, because this staff is top notch. They were friendly, professional, fast, interested in their customers - in short, they seemed to appreciate they have a great gig. Like a previous reviewer noted -- it's Starbucks so the drinks taste as well as any other Starbucks around. I was, however, pretty disappointed in the service. I stopped in to grab two drinks for my husband and noted there was no one at the counter waiting for drinks except someone who was just getting their Frappuccino. My order was taken, but two baristas sat around chatting while one barista made drinks. A customer came in about 5 minutes after me who they all apparently knew and ordered four drinks (which they gave to her on the house, but whatever). What I thought was unprofessional was that even though I had been waiting for 10 minutes (at least) with no one else in line ahead of me, the only barista making the drinks went ahead and made her friend's order before mine....which took another 10 minutes, and even though I had clearly been waiting for a bit. All the while the other two baristas stood around chatting. In the end, I got a "well she's our friend, so it's ok that we made you wait" excuse. Just poor service and I expect better. read more
