Staff is friendly. Never had an issue here. It is Starbucks, you know exactly what to expect with food and drinks. I like the matcha.

3/21/20 Back on Saturday, we had decided to get some shopping done; as well, as aquire more bottled water. We failed at this attempt at the Target store. Nevertheless, we did get coffee at Starbucks...okay my wife did, because she wasn't able to get it at many others stores. Why? Well, because of this Cronavirus which is changing the way we live right now, many things/places are closed down. Well waiting at the Target at The Mosaic Center, I heard that barbershops, Nail and hair salons will be closing too. Even massage businesses are shutting down too. So drinking this fabulous Starbucks coffee was like wiping your ass with silk...okay bad example, but you get my point. Just before we left Starbucks, we heard this store in the Mosaic Center might be closing too. If this is true, it sucks. Still we enjoyed the coffee. We WEll get more and soon. read more

Excellent location, right outside the Metro station. Of course, you can't eat or drink in the Metro system but if this is where you're leaving the train, it makes for a great stop on the way to your office or whatever. I just popped in for a pick-me-up single expresso, which only took the crew a moment to make and me a moment to drink. Good coffee! read more

Recently opened by the Halstead, this particular location is quite spacious with friendly staff and super-quick service. It's conveniently located right by Dunn Loring metro! I ordered an iced black coffee and saw that they now serve coconut milk. The barista allowed me and another gentleman to sample it. And I'm now in LOVE. Despite not being able to bring food or drinks onto the metro, it's a good place to stop for a quick pick-me up when heading out! read more

I've passed by this Starbucks while in and out of my shopping trips to Target but never stopped in. BIG MISTAKE this is a great hidden gem! There is plenty of seating where you can overlook the Mosaic Square and free Wi-Fi. Best of all the ladies working at this Starbucks location always say hello and thank you. So pleasant! read more

Usual Starbucks with friendly staff, they made my caramel apple spice even though it weirdly wasn't on the menu. They move quickly here and there is more seating than at some locations. The parking garage is annoying here and be sure not to stay more than 2 hours or you'll have to reset the parking meter. Best soy latte I have ever had at a Starbucks Took a sip of my latte and immediately wished I had gotten a larger size. It was perfect and delicious from start to, ok, I'm not yet finished. Snuck my latte on the metro, it's a horribly filthy car so I'm not feeling guilty and it's tucked in my bag. Moe took my latte order and a lovely young woman with a long brown pony tail made my latte. Customer service and quality product 5 stars all the way. This Starbucks is a great Starbucks. I've been here any hour of the day, for coffee, teas, frappachinos, hot chocolates, hot drinks cold drinks, butter croissants, you name it. I've been here chipper and ready for the morning, I've stopped by hungover as all hell, I've ordered on site or on the app, and it's they're so great. I can't imagine how it could be more convenient seeing as it's right next to the metro, across the street from a grocery store AND countless apartment complexes (+ one hotel). The staff is wonderful. They're always in a good mood which I really appreciate. My groggy self at 7 am is not the most pleasant, yet regardless they still take the best care of you. You're never waiting around for long periods of time for your food or drinks, and they have never messed up any of my orders. As far as Starbucks go, this one is my #1 seed. If I have to go grab coffee, god knows I'm going here. read more

First of all, the sign on the door says they open at 5:30am, but on several occasions they have not opened until well after 6am. Then, there is no heating in this Starbucks, so if I want to study, I have to either bundle up in my snow gear, or take my coffee to the warm meeting room in my apartment building across the street. Then if I come back for a refill, "that's only for customers who stay in the store." Well, if the temperature in here was greater than 40F, I would love to stay here. Also, while there are a few nice people working there (Almira!), the majority are incompetent. If I come in to redeem a free drink, it doesn't matter how many times I tell them, they'll still charge me. Then when I complain to the manager, she says there's nothing she can do. Yes, there is - you can refund me and do it right. Lastly, if I ask for a non-dairy milk, please use a non-dairy milk. I ordered a hot chocolate with coconut milk and it was made with regular milk, and when I asked the barista, she acted like it was my fault. All in all, I don't care how convenient this Starbucks is - I now go out of my way to get coffee elsewhere. read more

Came here last Saturday morning just after they had opened, and the two people working in there were very friendly and helpful. I'm knocking down one star because the closing people from the night before didn't clean up too well. I will still come here since it's next to the Dunn Loring Metro which is very convenient for those of us who either take the train or bus or both to get to where we have to go. Had a Peppermint Frapp and a piece of Banana Bread. Both were very good, and looking forward to trying the Lemon Cake today. Hope everyone has a great day now. :-) read more

Quick, simple and fast. The Starbucks crew at this location have found their groove. Every new Starbucks location needs sometime to find their groove. For store I'm thrilled it's happened. Which makes me happy. I get my delicious morning fix without having any issues whatsoever. My favorite drinks are Caramel Macchiato, caramel frappachino. Love the lemon pound cake, pumpkin pound cake, raspberry pound cake. Still having a hard time getting over Starbucks taking the s'mores frappachino off the menu. The withdrawal is real. I had the urge for something sweet so I walked with my coworker (she was feeding her late day coffee craving) and decided to try the DC Sweet Potato Cupcake, it was $3!! So I decide to splurge but I was disappointed, it was half STALE. My afternoon was ruined :-/ I dont drink coffee, but the apple cider and hot chocolate here are pretty yummy. This location was long overdue and is currently the only business open in the upcoming Avenir Place apartments and shops. It's small, and that's okay for now, but when Avenir fills up with residents, I think it will be super crowded. There are about 4 or 5 2-tops, a couple of 4 tops, and I believe 2-3 sets of the cushion-y chairs with round tables, and then a long skinny stand-alone bartop with stools on both sides to sit at this communal table. Most of the seating (aside from the bartop) was taken at a totally random 10:30 am on a weekday. Third in line, I watched the barista be kind of rude and annoyed with the two customers in front of me, and he did not buck that trend with me. When I ordered, he just stared back at me in blank silence, and again after I used my phone to pay. I wasn't quite sure if he wanted something, or just wanted me to go away. The baristas were super quick on my drink, and since it is a new beverage not only to me but to Starbucks, I have no basis for comparison, but it was really good. For parking, you've got the Metro garage and the small lot at the moment (early March 2015) based on the current construction set-up, but I don't imagine it will become much more parking friendly. If you live in walking vicinity from the Dunn Loring Metro, though, you probably are just as excited about this location as I am and are more than willing to just walk there! read more

This Starbucks is located on a new building beside the Dunn Loring metro station. It's currently the only business opened in the area. It's still fairly new so it's not crowded at all. There's some regulars in here that are from the office buildings across the street. D The staff was friendly and prompt. Since its close by the metro sometimes if I'm early to work I'll stop by to grab a breakfast sandwich. I'm a sucker for their breakfast sandwiches with sausage. read more

The caramel macchiato and gingerbread tea latte at this location taste weak and watered down. It seems the barista didn't put in enough flavor in either drink. The three employees working there didn't seem happy. We drank our drinks in the store and people watched. The baristas seemed irritated when paying customers asked for the code to the restroom. They didn't call out drinks when they were ready, so if a customer was distracted on their phone or talking to someone else, they didn't know their drink was ready. read more

I love Starbucks, but this one is a mess and has been pretty much since it opened. I live a couple of blocks away and have given up on this location completely. They constantly give Gold Card Members a lot of grief about refills and get drinks orders wrong about 75% of the time. I can pretty much count on being frustrated if I go to this one. On my last encounter, they had a new premium iced coffee drink with vanilla sweet cream advertised up on their board that I ordered. I stood there and watched as the barista make the normal iced coffee drink with regular cream - nothing special or premium about it. When I said something to the manager, she admitted that they didn't have the ingredients yet for the item on the board, which they had just put up on the sign that day. I don't understand why they just didn't say that at the register rather than faking it with a drink that's half the price. Not sure if they were being lazy or dishonest, but it was the last straw for me and I haven't been back since. read more

I badly needed a Starbucks Green Tea Iced Latte this afternoon and ran to yours (Dunn Loring- Merrifield) only to feel disappointed with the cashier who (mis)assisted me today. Steve C. is correct in stating that the cashiers have a language barrier and badly communicate with customers whereas they are supposed to be the human portal to the business mastering at least the language they need to communicate with!! They gave me Ice Chai Latte and when I told the bar tender spanish guy that i am not getting what i ordered; he relay the message to the lady cashier (I believed is the store manager) and she came to me insisting in a very non-apologetic way that what I was handed is what I ordered. Even if you review the camera i ordered Green Tea Iced Latte and is totally different from Iced Chai Latte. They ended up giving me what I ordered at the end with no apology to follow. Please make sure you thrive to promote your business by assigning the right people from speaking the needed language, to cultivating good manners in dealing with us to finally apologizing when guilty! Best part about this Starbucks is its location, as it is right across from the Dunn Loring Metro station. Had to take one star off. If this store was a baseball player, they'd be in the Hall of Fame. They have a career batting average of .333. And when they actually hit the ball, it's frequently a double. Unfortunately, 2 out of every 3 times I go here, I strike out and just leave because I can't wait for 18 minutes to get coffee. If this place was busy, I'd get it. At some of the stores in downtown, I'll happily wait 10 minutes in line while the staff works their way out of the weeds from 50 people in line. But, rarely have I seen more than 5-6 people in line here. And it still takes a horrendously long time to get a cup of coffee. If I was Starbucks, I'd fire the whole management team, retrain whatever staff wanted to stick around, and reopen in two weeks. Short of that happening, there's a Dunkin a couple blocks away or another Starbucks in the Target about a mile away. Service there isn't great either, but at least you'll get something. read more

I dont usually write reviews but I really had to do one for this place HOPING THEIR STAFF IMPROVES. I have been to SO many Starbucks and this is the only place Ive had to wait for more than 10 minutes each time to receive my drink even after being the FIRST PERSON in line. I was in here today to get my free birthday drink. I was trying to avoid the woman who initially helped me bc she looked like she didnt know what she was doing...and I was right. She told me my birthday drink expired..how can it expire when my birthday was just 3 DAYS ago?! It expires in 30 days!!! And the fact that i havent used it yet! So anyway, I wasnt going to make that a big deal. So I asked her if she can transfer my $20 giftcard to my phone so I can earn my Starbucks rewards and pay for my drink. Im not sure what she did after she swiped my card and scanned my phone SEVERAL times but by the time the other lady took over there was nothing in my gift card left. So the second lady continued to swipe my card and scan my phone more than 5x! I kept telling her that I JUST received my gift card the other day and have not used it yet. After trying to figure out what went wrong for 15-20 mins, she was able to transfer the $20 from my gift card to my phone. I was so frustrated and embarrassed trying to argue with them that I asked to speak to the manager. I didnt realize that the second lady who took over was the manager. I told her this issue was unnecessary and shouldn't have taken THAT long to resolve. I was in a rush to go back to work and yes, I give her credit for taking over after the first lady messed up, but it even took her longer to figure it out. After finally getting my drink, the manager was very apologetic and even handed 2 gift cards for free drinks on them. I didnt care about the free drinks, I cared about the time wasted EVERYTIME I come here. Its RIDICULOUS. It seems like the staff can only take SIMPLE orders but anything complicated like a TALL SKINNY VANILLA LATE WITH EXTRA ESPRESSO SHOT or TRANSFERRING A GIFT CARD TO A PHONE seems way too complicated for them to do. This is a very busy Starbucks given that it's in a very busy location. The staff should be competent enough to work here to avoid customers waiting for more than 5 minutes for their drinks and to take "complicated" orders besides a regular coffee. For the barista who makes the drinks during the morning shifts on the weekdays, it would be nice if you can speed it up just a little more for people who are in a rush and need to be at work or somewhere else besides Starbucks. Anyway, avoid this place if you're in a rush! or if your order is more then just a regular coffee~ read more

Probably the worst Starbucks I visited. I have had numerous poor experiences from continued out of stock food items to the wrong drinks being made. The staff is also not friendly and definitely not quick. I purchased Starbucks coffee to brew at home via a grocery store but realized I accidentally purchased whole beans. I took it to Starbucks to see if thy could grind it for me. They said it was a different product since it was from a retailer and not their store....fortunately after some persistence they would grind the bag that I hadn't opened but wouldn't grind the beans from the bag I opened. Seemed ridiculous to me. Unfortunately, it's the closest coffee spot - otherwise I would stop patronizing their business. read more
