If you're going to get a Starbucks fix while on vacation without first trying several really good locally owned and operated coffeehouses you need a Clockwork Orange reeducation. Not that the people in here don't appreciate their jobs - there aren't many positions in Fort Bragg offer the good benefits they do, and as a testament to that you'll see the same baristas here year after year. Bet this has one of the lowest turnovers of any Starbucks in California. But...what's important to know about this particular one besides the fact that it used to be a Taco Bell and as a result has a drive thru window (definitely funky) is that while it took a couple years to install the service, it now has the only Tmobile Hotspot between Eureka and Cloverdale. Given 200 miles is a long way to go when you're suffering internet addiction withdrawal symptoms like fingers recovering sensation and reading books, it's a 4 star Starbucks. The baristas are always friendly, and they never complain or get exasperated when I want to know what's in something I have never heard of or can't even pronounce. While grabbing coffee for my coworkers one morning one of them even noted my nametag and commented about how she'd once worked where I was working, and we got chatting about how the place had changed. They replaced my drink when I was in the drive-thru and as soon as my frappuccino was settled into my cupholder, my mom's dog smooshed her nose into the whip cream and sneezed. The only problem I have ever had here is that most of them can't make a breve to save their lives. One girl actually had the audacity to ask if I meant I wanted breve in my latte! Since they can never seem to get that particular drink right, I've settled into my venti iced white mocha routine. read more

Drive thru time from order to pick up was about 14 minutes. The gal at the window visited with the customers in the car ahead of us for quite some time after they were given their drinks and change. She clearly had no *cares* to give when we got to the window. We ordered 4 drinks, I was sad to find my peppermint white mocha missing the most important ingredient (peppermint!) I love my Starbucks. I usually love stopping into Starbucks before a long drive, but this location was absolute hell. The line for the drive-through was roughly 20 minutes from ordering to picking up the drinks. The barista at the window (who seemed to be having a bad day and was taking it out on her customers) asked three times if I wanted cream in my coffee and I responded yes, but when I drove away from the window I realized she had put soy milk in my coffee. Yuck. I asked her at the window if she would throw out a piece of Starbucks trash to which she gave a "I cannot" and the most condescending "Thank you" I've gotten from a Starbucks employee ever before slamming the window shut. Do not visit this location. Do yourself a favor and drive 5 minutes South to Maria's Coffee that has way better coffee and a quicker/better drive-through. Support Local Businesses. read more

My husband and I went to the local Starbucks in Fort Bragg. We are from Ukiah and Vacationed there. Our kids were waiting at their grand parents home for their favorite coffees, and so was I. We were happy the line wasn't too long as it normally is. We made our order and moved ahead in this very slow line. When we finally made it to the window my husband kindly asked if he could please add a "dry cappuccino." The young lady Morgan said a flat out "No" and we were taken by surprise. Living in Ukiah with all 3 Starbucks there, you can change your mind at the window, ask for more drinks, say no thank you to something else ect...The point is they do it for you there to make sure you enjoy your experience, and love your coffee. Obviously, all companies want you to come back again. However, though it's a pain in the A to have anyone change their mind or add something else, Ukiah Starbucks accommodates you to make you happy and with a damn smile. Heather backed up Morgan at the window and we all three had choice words. The one girl stating, " I don't care I'm quitting in a week." The Supervisor came to window and too backed up the two girls. To say the least we will not ever be returning to this Starbucks in Fort Bragg. The girls had an opportunity to be kind and talk to us differently than they did, but they failed to do so. read more

Haven't been back in 4 months and likely never will. Over the years Ive given Starbucks a ton of business - it has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. No more. Funny that they let this location be managed so poorly. Although I must admit it'd be pretty tough dealing with the amount of street people at this location. Here was a ling drive through line out into the street, no signs on the door stating they're not taking any walk-ins but yet 15 people in the building waiting for their mobile orders. This Starbucks is terrible, we ordered 4 drinks and all four were messed up, one coffee tasted burnt, one forgot the vanilla syrup even though we were charged for it, one drink was the entirely wrong drink and they even forgot the ice on the ice water. UPDATE: I live in Ft. Bragg and enjoy coffee from this particular location on a regular basis. It never ceases to amaze me how nice the staff is, especially when they have to deal with rude customers. I feel badly that they have to put up with people who aren't thoughtful or considerate and yet they can't speak up to them. Dirtiest and slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. Don't order an espresso, unless you enjoy the taste of a dirty machine. From the parking lot, floors, chairs, tables, and overflowing garbage cans, this establishment needs an overhaul. Also, may want to discourage employees from coming to work stoned. read more

A bunch of morons. I come here from out of town. They add up my total wrong by charging me 5 dollars more than they should've. I then ask for 2 iced waters to go as well as my two other coffees. They take forever to give my them & don't offer a drink carrier and almost forgot to give me straws. We were on a little holiday from the Bay Area in the middle of the week. As we are addicted to our Starbucks we ventured out twice to this Starbucks in the early evening. The first time we went thru the Drive-thru we had 1 car in front of us and it took over 10 minutes to get thru (yes I timed it). The second time was a little better as we had no cars. Starbucks is almost always a good bet for corporate coffee when on the road. But this location is lacking. The coffee was... well... coffee. I prefer the blond for its high caffeine power rating. I know most starbucks stop brewing the blond by mid morning. My early morning visit was a disappointment, no blond and no offer for for a pour over. I could have asked, but fuck it because this day I needed some internet access to complete a chore so give me a medium. The plug ins for chargers along the south wall were non-functional and the woman(?) working the creamer table said "they are all funky, I don't know what is wrong with them". What? You have a known issue and don't get it repaired, not good. So forget it, my chore is short so I'll just login and get it done on a half battery. I would have to go back to the nineteen-nineties (yes I'm talking windows 98) to remember the last time I had such a difficult time logging into an internet connection. What a hassle. I never did get logged in. The other customers were a pretty sketchy crew. An eclectic group of tweekers, malcontents, beggars and one hipster writing his novel were spread evenly around this place. I came to Fort Bragg with my best friend for a week. We came to this Starbucks everyday and I must say, everyday is an off day at this poorly run establishment. I have never waited so long in my life! The drinks were inconsistent and every single day that we ordered a pastry, we had to remind someone to get it for us repeatedly. Despite having at least six employees behind the counter, there seems to be serious lack of communication. I was also annoyed when the chick behind the counter used a container labeled "dairy only" to make my almond milk latte. This may sound nit-picky, but again, do yourself a favor and visit one of the locally owned coffee shops in this town and avoid this Starbucks at all costs.
