The Wait: We sat for over 20 minutes before receiving water or placing our order. It took at least another 30 minutes for our very first dish to arrive. The Food: The steamer clams were overly salty and full of sand. One of the oysters was also shockingly tiny. When we pointed this out, the waitress claimed extra oysters had been added to the shells, but we did not see any evidence of that. The Service: Basic service was missing. We never received water refills, and our empty shell plates were never cleared, leaving a massive pile of clutter on the table. The Bill & Gratuity: A 20% gratuity was automatically added because we were a party of 6 (5 adults and a baby). After we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waitress did remove the automatic charge and said sorry that we didn't like the food. However, her apology felt insincere and making it clear she was mostly upset about losing part of her tip. We still left a 12% tip out of courtesy, but given the combination of poorly prepared food and unattentive service, we will not be returning.

This time around, I went for the traditional bacon & eggs breakfast with hash browns and a pancake. The thick-cut bacon comes from Roundman's Smokehouse in town, and I just can't get enough of it. Nice smoky flavor and a delite to bite into. The hash browns are nothing fancy, but they didn't have to be. Loved the crispness on top and cooked fresh. The pancake was good as well. My wife's enchilada burrito was huge! She loved it all-around and said it had a small spicy kick to it. I took a bite and liked it. The chicken was nice and tender too. The servers always make you feel right at home like they've known you for years and that's refreshing. Funny story to end this: somehow I got hit in the forearm with a flying champagne cork and was told in Mexican tradition if that happens you're gonna be pregnant. LMAO So I rolled with it and said "I'll check back in nine months"

If you're thinking this place feels like any other seafood place in a tourist town (malibu,…read moremonterey, etc), then prepare to have your viewpoints altered. While the checkered paper, fresh seafood, outdoor seating and walk up to order may all be part of the experience, this is probably the best seafood I've had in one of these beach towns. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, crab sandwich with chowder and blackened cod plate. The shrimp cocktail contains a surprising amount of shrimp for the price - and you can definitely taste how fresh the shrimp is! The crab sandwich was pretty good and light, but I feel like the blackened cod overshadowed everything. The cod was so flavorful, and you get 4-5 pieces. It's a cajun style seasoning where you can taste the spice - to a point it may be a little too spicy for people with low spice tolerance. The bread is buttered and the salad is fresh - you could not ask for a better meal. The clam chowder is a little different from most other places; they add some seasonings and spice to the chowder so it's not the traditional creamy, heavy soup you're expecting. It's like clam chowder premium, I prefer their version over a more traditional version. The view of the turquoise colored water is amazing from their indoor patio, as it's covered in windows. They also have an outdoor patio where you can take pictures of the color. The line to order was quick, but we saw that the line can get long with extended wait times depending on customer numbers. Water is self serve, and you also bus your own plates. When visiting Fort Bragg, you have to come to eat here, for the food, the view, and the service!

This one has more seats that face the harbor. We ordered the octopus and bay shrimp ceviche, chips and guac, and rockfish tacos. The chips and guac were ok ,the ceviche was pretty good. But the high light was the fish tacos. Grilled and seasoned just perfectly. After a couple of bites, they fell apart. But still really good. The soup looked really good, but since it was a hot day. I wasn't in the mood for soup

This place is bursting with bold, authentic flavors and offers a true gastronomic experience. We ordered the Tapas Trio, Traditional Cochinita Pibil, and the Cioppino, and every dish was outstanding. The appetizer was packed with flavor, the pibil was beautifully seasoned and tender, and the cioppino had a rich, layered broth that was delicious without being overpowering. The kids had the Alfredo and cheeseburger which they both devoured. On top of the incredible food, our server was genuinely warm and attentive, which made the experience even better. We started with the zucchini, which was lightly breaded, not too oily, and super flavorful. We also got the nachos -- the melted cheese on top was good, but the guac really stood out. Definitely a great dish to share. I ordered the Chicken Chile Verde Enchiladas, which were honestly more like tacos than enchiladas, but the verde salsa was really delicious. It came with a side of rice and beans, and the portions were huge. Prices were also pretty reasonable for how much food you get. The inside was really eclectic and fun -- every wall and table was decorated differently. It did smell pretty strongly of fish when we were there, but it didn't bother me too much. Even though they were busy, service was quick and attentive.

If you're hungry and are exploring the area around the shops and train may have better luck with your food choices than we did. We decided to share the fish and chips, clam chowder daily special and a piece of banana pie. The server overlooked us after we sat, but had a good sense of humor after I got her attention and we joked about it. After that the service between the two waitresses was spot on and friendly. We asked if the fish and chips could be made into have fish half shrimp, which they did. The food came out quickly and was hot, but the flavor of all the food from the fryer oil was way off. It tasted like burnt peanut oil, just gross. The fish was the only semi tasty item in my opinion. The soup was gritty and thick, and the banana pie had a bland fluffy stale tasting crust. Again, we didn't expect much from this deli but ya never know and our chance of a tasty snack was a fail. I'd give 4 stars for service and 1 star for food.
