Who doesn't love a donut? Jelly filled is my favourite, husband loves an apple fritter. We stopped…read morein here, based on Yelp ratings, and i always read them to ensure I'm going somewhere good. I selected my Jelly Filled, she picked it out, turned around and placed it on a machine, which pumped the jelly in, right in front of my eyes! I love that! Freshly filled, so it doesn't go stale. According to one reviewer, these donuts are "pre-made" Apparently, this reviewer did not visit the bathrooms during her visit, or she would have seen the mountain of GIANT sacks of Donut mix. This kind of leads me to believe that these donuts are not pre made, along with my jelly being piped into my donut in front of me. And indeed, upon tasting it, the freshness, light, fluffy, soft - it's everything you could want a donut to be. Husband raved about his apple fritter, as he could find multiple chunks of real apple, something he gets quite sad about in other apple fritters. The coffee was hot, tasted fresh and strong, and came from dispensers, (another thing the disgruntled reviewer doesn't like) but what i like is that they also had their milks/creams in the fridge, AND they had 2% milk, which is what i use. I do not have a problem with coffee dispensers, it's efficient, and when you have a high turnover of customers, and a very small staff (a husband and wife were the only staff we could see) it makes sense to not have to also offer barista services, that would take up more time that can be spent serving customers. The coffee was fine. They also have boba, but this was morning, and we'd gotten up real early, so i needed the java. I would 100% return here, that jelly donut was so good. It's a smallish space, serviceable rather than pretty, 2 big picture windows, which is great for people watching. It has a bathroom. It has great donuts, coffee and boba. What more could you want?

We were really happy with our meal at The Taste of Tea. This is an interesting concept where they…read morehave tea and some gifts, but also a food menu with some Japanese favorites including onigiri and ramen. I ordered the cold ramen salad because it was a warm day, and it was really exceptional. It has nicely chopped vegetables and everything was prepared perfectly. I also ordered the Japanese pickles appetizer and it was presented exquisitely. They have a variety of teas, including tea flights, and also serve bubble teas. I got one of the tea cocktails that had mango and shoju that was really good. Service is very gracious. We sat in their nice outdoor covered area. The shop inside had a lot of interesting looking tea-related items. They had some lovely looking tea sets and pots. Also some Japanese snacks!

Their decor is quirky and fun inside, with only a few tables, so reservations are recommended (although we managed to get a table walking in on a weekday afternoon). They have a massive selection of teas, pretty much any kind you can think of and then some, as well as an impressive selection of sake. Which all goes well with their ramen, which is the only thing we tried this time. It's not quite the typical ramen you would see at Japanese spots in SF or South Bay, but I imagine quite good for North Bay and tasty in their own right. I wouldn't mind going back even just for teas and sake and maybe some lighter bites.

I don't know if it is just me or if this is the norm. Anyways I'm done going there if she is there. This is unfortunate because I like the coffee and it is across the street from my laundry mat I like. All i did was ask for more half n half and I got attitude. Also the first time i shot it back and to her slight surprise she had to come up with a reason why the half n half was empty. Initially, she told me there was half n half in those little containers in front of me. Like I didn't know that already! I am not a picky customer but I want cold half n half and I don't like using a crap ton of those annoying little plastic containers. I wanted to put cream in my coffee and go. And for a coffee station that has a carafe machine for cream it should go without saying that when it is empty and a customer wants that particular type then you should oblige instead of acting rude and annoyed that, I the customer even asked. The reason i am complaining is because she is rude to me every single time and I have been nice and compliant and chop it up to her maybe being a miserable person or thinking she is at least miserable working there. Im done being a lamb to her. Next time I'm going to ask to speak with her manager and bring it to her attention that I am not a pushover and I don't like being treated that way. I also don't need or want special attention. I know customer service is hard and it sucks sometimes but if that is your job then do it!!!!!!!!!
