A cappuccino should only be served as a 6oz. When I asked to just have a 12oz with a lot less milk they could not comprehend. I changed my order to an iced 12oz honey latte. Also their 12oz is only served with one shot which is absurd so I had to add a shot. Lastly, the espresso was very bitter and tasted burnt, this is the barista technique. Overall, coffee was not good on the day I visited due to my espresso being burnt. Staff was nice.

The outdoor seating area is quite vast with plenty of room to spread out and get some fresh air when it's nice out! Oof. Big changes at GDFC in the last few months. Came in for my normal start of spring trip after…read morejust being here in late fall, and the whole inside is different (less retail, more space) and several new kitchen remodel upgrades. It looks clean but isn't the same home-y spot we all loved. The kicker, though, is they changed the menu boards which now don't tell you what things are and they've like everyone else increased prices of normal items, including items that used to be included. Sandwiches used to come with chips, and now sandwiches are more and the small single size of chips are $4! Apparently they didn't read PepsiCo just missed a billion dollars in sales because they keep raising prices on Doritos. I can see add-ons for high quality products like soup, specialty fries, etc. I also know GDFC has expanded into KC, and I've been and spent healthy money at that luxury spot several times. But c'mon, this is just ludicrous charges at this point. When I realized the chip change, I asked for a refund of those alone, and the new sales terminal system took forever for multiple people to figure out. The manager on duty had to ultimately refund the whole thing, and reorder my entire order, meaning it's now cost all of us money in time. The staff is completely different - there's a chef in the back wearing a white coat like it's fine dining... the rest of the staff is friendly enough, but also not the same level of home we all got used to for many years. My sandwich finally came out, and it looks nothing like what we used to get - the Cuban is on a hoagie style roll. Not even that good anymore. No more winery inside, and limited drink options overall. And no more fresh ice cream, just overpriced "soft serve." I know we're in times that are a'changin... but some of it has gone too far. Hopefully they keep the same level of loyal business I imagine they had before. My loyalty has definitely shifted instantly to once in a while, if that.

They had two hot and one iced. Before I even entered too far into the quaint shop, Kim mentioned tea samples--not just to drink but a small bag of loose leaf. She was the sweetest--in my conversation with her while I entered the store, I said I had just checked in on Yelp. Yelp said something about an ounce (seems like too much to just give away...), the samples were less than that, but I didn't mind, I thought it was cool they even did that--she ended up letting me choose two--so hard to decide when the two I chose sounded delicious! They have a fantastic array of teas: black, herbal, tisanes, green to name a few of their loose leaf teas. They also have an assortment of boxed/tin of teas too and from various companies. I tried the iced one they were sampling (Strawberry & Vanilla) from London Fruit & Herb Company. It was so refreshing I bought a box! I told Kim I was hosting a small afternoon tea for my Mum's birthday and she had some wonderful ideas! Not only for the teas from which to choose, but also some noshes to pair with them. While loading my arms with all the goodness, Kailee popped over and offered a basket for my finds! Thank you!! Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. Case in point, after having tried the iced tea, i asked out to make it with correct proportions of tea:water:ice, to which Kim supplied not only a verbal answer, but also gave me a card with brewing directions! Hooray! I love dropping by, at the very least to see if they have anything new, but also because they're a local company that has loose leaf teas--seems hard to procure sometimes. Queen's Pantry offers a variety of British fare and beautiful cups/mugs and accoutrements to help either a newbie to loose leaf teas or a long-time connoisseur.
