I can't help but stopping at Starbucks and Starbucks in A. Target is always a hit or miss but here it was a huge hit due to the Customer Service being awesome and so helpful. I went with my go to lately which is a banana bread cold foam iced Matcha. Even though I had a little Oopsie and spilled part of my Matcha on myself, I still enjoyed it. Why would I want to fill my coffee up with milk? I don't care what kind of drink it is a venti is a venti and I did not order light ice either so I cannot imagine how much of the drink would be left if I removed the ice. I've put off writing this review thinking magically they would improve and make good drinks like they used to. Because they used to make amazing drinks. This has become one of the worst Starbucks locations I've been to anywhere. Starbucks lets you customize drinks for a reason. This location, however, just does whatever they decide they'd like to do with your drink. I know it's this location, because I can order identical drinks at other locations around the country and it tastes nothing like what I get from everywhere else here. Want blonde espresso? Depends on their mood. Want 3 espresso shots? Well maybe, if the barista is having a good day. Order a specific number of pumps of syrup? Plan on getting half pumps. Want half-and-half or HWC instead of 2%? They'll charge you for it, but you may or may not get it. I'm sorry. When you are paying $8 for a custom drink, you should get the drink you order! The one not really doing much compared to everyone else which is ok, to each his own. If that's her role cool...but a young man came to empty the trash and she looked at him with annoyance. Refused to move nor looked down to see why he was getting her attention. He was asking to get by to empty the trash. He was emptying all the trash and she was just being snotty. This Starbucks is located in the fairly new megaplex shopping center in Gainesville. Plenty of seating here inside and outside - the inside has a cozy seating area - with several electrical outlets available to plug into for laptops. Of course there is a T-mobile internet connection here - but unless you have an ongoing paid account with them - you might not want to use it - the entire shopping complex here has free wireless internet access - although access to it shuts down at 9:00 pm every evening. I was on my way to work and I ordered ahead online through the app to save time. I put it in around 10:45 and says it will be ready around 11:05. Is customer service dead? Sometimes I wonder. To say Starbucks in Gainesville Atlas Walk is devoid of customer service would be an understatement. Devoid of common courtesy, a pleasant demeanor or even basic manners would probably cover it. We used it six months ago and had an almost duplicate experience after asking why a Kiwi drink for my son was missing (can you guess?) ....kiwis! A curt reply of 'we don't have any Sir' came back from the manager. I should have said 'if you're short of coffee, do you serve just hot water?' I didn't and didn't come back for six months. My wife ordered two fancy pistachio mochas today and received half a cup of lukewarm coffee and one piping hot full to the brim. Oh here we go again like an episode of deja vu. After asking why and getting huffs puffs and eye rolling we started to wonder if we were speaking a foreign language. The manager didn't apologize and asked if we wanted a refund or replacement. We opted for a replacement and left wondering why we bothered returning. Whatever happened to a smile, an apology or a basic interaction that didn't put us in a bad mood. Does Starbucks not teach this? Did their parents not teach basic manners? Is customer service dead? Do I have to text my order, pay online and avoid human contact? I luv this Starbucks so much more now. I think mainly because it is located in Atlas Walkway in Gainesville, VA. which is close to home and it's very relaxing to just sit here with friends and family and seeing how lively my town of Gainesville can get. I still visit here on some of my work remote days. But my favorite time of day to be Sippin on some SB is during sunset hours. It's just perfect. So I have to agree with all of the other posts. This place is SLOW!!! The store is way too small for how slow they are. People are packed in tight awkwardly looking for a place to wait for this extremely slow service! This place should move into a larger location like the vacant store across the street. I feel like if there was more room then the this place would not be as slow. I don't think it is a lack of baristas that makes them slow, it is the lack of space in which the baristas have to work. I usually love going to this starbucks, but today I had a unsettling experience. I witnessed an old lady worker, I believe her name was Desiree, yell at a customer and another younger employee (poc). The younger employee was dealing with the chaos very well and was making good conversation with a customer when the old lady left her station to yell them. I get that it was busy and can be stressful, but that was very unnecessary and caused a lot of attention. I ended up having to leave because that interaction didn't sit right with me, so I went to haymarket starbucks, a much better experience.
