This Starbucks sucks. Last weekend I went in there and was asked to wait by the cashier while she finished with the order from the person in front of me. Ok, no problem. Then the other cashier, instead of helping me as the next person in line, goes to the customer behind me and helps them. When the other customer pointed out that I was next the cashier said that I had to wait for the previous cashier, who still hadn't helped me yet. Uhh, what? The other weird thing was that the cashiers insisted on keeping everyone in line in order. When the customer behind me tried to walk past me to the 2nd register the cashier (who skipped me) asked her to return to the line behind me. Apparently these two girls get easily confused if they don't handle the orders in the exact order that they received? I've never been to a Starbucks that operates this way and it's even more puzzling considering the problems my wife has had with her last few orders (see below). They also gave the customer in front of me the wrong food. I should have checked mine because when I got home I realized they gave me the wrong sandwich which was also $1 cheaper than what I had paid for. Twice in the past week my wife has been there and ordered a simple iced quad espresso (it's just 4 shots of espresso on ice) yet they end up either forgetting her order or just bumping it to the end of the line and serving everyone who orders after her. Today they served the 8 people behind her (with all sorts of complex mochafrappalatteswhatever) before she got her cup of plain coffee. Just about every time we go there the barrista is more interested in talking to the customers next to her work area (or the off-duty employees). She can barely get the orders right when she concentrates, being distracted doesn't help the odds. These are just the most recent visits. We just happen to find ourselves over there in Gateway and want a coffee but never seem to learn our lesson to avoid this location. read more

Could focus on customers a little more. I came in to look for some merchandise and I was ignored by both baristas even though they had no drinks or line. Really sick + tired of rude baristas working the cashier. This has happened multiple times. You're supposed to say, "Hi, how are you?" Or "What may I get you?" and answer when the customer asks how you're doing. It's just common sense. It's customer service. And try smiling every once in awhile. These employees need to be retrained. The lady with glasses, hair and who likes Irish stuff is cool... If you see her, tell her I said hello. I recommend the venti ice coffee unsweetened, half and half with 3 I cubes (I'm serious about my ice cubes). But the reason for a 2 star is... They played Dave Matthews band this one time I was in line! I wanted to stop listening but I couldn't leave because I was in line and I needed my ice coffee! I asked them to hurry up when I ordered and they said ok. But they didn't hurry up! They made the drinks that where ahead of mine! Even though I requested to have mine rushed! I am not sure why there are so many low reviews for this place. I've been coming here since forever and never have I had any issue with the staff, or the service. From what I've experienced through my many visits, the staff were super nice and friendly. If it wasn't because of the fact that the line was long almost every time I stopped by, I would have given this review a perfect 5. With that said, they've always seem to be working really hard and fast on getting my drinks. The difference between the service on the East Coast vs. The West Coast has never been so apparent than at this location. You have an extremely busy location where you could be turning a profit and serving more customers if you had enough employees working. Not to mention the lack of hustle and disorganization. These workers could be doing so much more, and getting more products served if they just moved a little quicker. They literally have 3 people at the cashier and 1 making drinks.... Frustrating. This Starbucks is friendly and courteous. They always have a kind word and a hot cup. My concern is more toward the application and attempt to sell their credit card. It has an annual fee and a high interest rate. I think they would have had more volume in credit card applications if they had made the card more reasonable. Just a thought. read more

Starbucks is always good, however this location is ridiculously slow. They quote me at 11-18 minutes, 30 mins later I have to ask for my order and it's somehow in line, but behind people who just ordered at the register and will "be up shortly". I've started going elsewhere for coffee when in Gainesville, Trummer's has great options and tend to be a little quicker. read more

I am a die hard coffee addict and I love Starbucks. But I avoid this one for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's really busy, so you always have to wait in line. I don't know if this is an east coast commuter thing, but I find the people in line rude. Secondly, even though it's in a retail area with no pedestrian traffic there is no drive through, come on Starbucks, this is America! Thirdly, the way the store is set out is a bit akward. After you order, you pretty much stand in the same place to wait for your drink/food. And the condiments are far away from the place you pickup your order. Slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. There were two people in front of me. Ran in for an iced latte. Took 10 minutes. There were plenty of employees but only one guy actually making the coffee. I have been to jammed packed airport locations and have never had to wait more than a few minutes. Was tempted to walk out but I had already paid. If you come here, don't be in a hurry. read more

Most of them in this area seem to be very hit or miss very good one day and horrible the next. Store was clean as were restrooms.

Its Sbux, so the quality is pretty much the same as all Sbux. I'm personally a fan of third wave, specialty coffee & espresso when it comes to quality. The one thing that differentiates sbux from one another is the service. Here, its average. The baristas are definitely nice when they do interact with you. The challenge is sometimes getting them to stop talking with each other when you are waiting to give an order, or waiting to have your order completed. If you can talk & do your job at the same time, thats one thing. But when a customer is AT the register, take the order. Or when they are waiting for their order, don't stand there and talk and NOT work on the waiting customer is waiting. Overall though, its usually a good experience (as long as I'm not in a hurry). read more

This place was painful. I literally waited 27 minutes for two drinks. There were 4 employees and only one making drinks. The strange part was that it wasn't that crowded. The entire place was stressful because those waiting were becoming frustrated. It was so bad that the woman next to me began to commiserate as her son was becoming very restless during the wait. Also, things were out of order (people who paid after me got drinks before me). I felt like the barista only put out a drink every 5 minutes. Also, most of the staff on shift seemed very moody and detached with the exception of Brandon who was kind and friendly on the register. I couldn't really figure out what the other two staff members that weren't on bar and register were doing. Especially because the place was pretty filthy (floors dirty, milk spilled all over condiment bar, no straws or creamer at the condiment bars). Any one else think there should be a Yelp SBUX badge? I like Starbucks and this is like every other one. This one gets three stars because of its setup and difficult to get a drink and order. They should reformat the floor plan for better service. On the plus they have some decent seating and you can just hang at this local SBUX while other shop. read more

Great people with a great attitude; as opposed to the Centreville location. Drinks on point and they know my husband and myself. They are a good working crew with one another. I've tried other coffee shops, and I've only been able to enjoy Starbucks coffee shops. I went to dunkin and they didn't understand me when I asked for half n half.
