Picked up a cup of coffee here this morning. I was hoping it would be hot coffee. Instead I got a cup of room temperature coffee which I assumed had been sitting out since last night. My Starbucks hopping reviews ~ Just a grad student trying to find the most ideal Starbucks locations as I travel across LA/OC! What I look for & Ratings: -Parking: Awesome!! A giant lot with other shops, including Chipotle. I know what I'm grabbing for dinner after my study sesh -Seating: Good enough for me! I love my my cushion seats. My butt hurts after a long study session so this matters to me- thankfully they have one on the side wall with 3 little tables, spaced out enough so you don't feel awkward working alongside people. Small size Starbucks but a lot of bar top style desks around. -Lighting: Not too sunny, have windows with good light. -Service: Ok this is sadly not a non-negotiable for me, but always a plus. I usually don't care as long as they're decent. My iced black coffee was normal, and the service was so friendly !! I came to pick up a coffee with both my kids (3 years old, 2month old) app wouldn't let me select curbside pick up. And i couldn't get out of the car with both kids. I called in and spoke to a gentleman named Jose. Explained my situation and he so kindly brought my drink out to my car no questions asked. This review is for the Starbucks App actually. Although this location in particular is well organized and has good service. The Starbucks App has been a dream come true since I first downloaded it. I use it every time to pay for my drink using my phone. The 12th drink is free. However the LATEST and GREATEST has been ordering ahead of time using the app. It has saved me a ton of time especially on my way to work. I have tried it now for the past week. The app saves my previous orders so I can just....click, click, click....about 2 mins away from the location. When I arrive, I go straight to the barista and my drink is ready. It feels so great to go past a long line. I'm still scratching my head why I'm the only one using this method at this location. I went here with a co-worker on one cold and rainy day. This place sure did the trick to help with the dreary weather. I ordered the peppermint mocha and it was delicious. It tasted a lot like mint candy :). I am becoming such a fan of the Starbucks holiday drinks. I got my drink pretty quickly here. The service is pretty good. The only thing is this Starbucks is located at a busy plaza and so it can be hard to find parking. Other than the parking issue, this place seems to be a convenient place to buy coffee :). read more

I need a new "home" Sbux because the one I've been going to has just not been cutting it these days. I usually come to this one if I'm going towards the beach but yesterday I came on the way to work, even though it's past the freeway for me (ok not even that far). The barista was friendly and quick, and they made my Venti Iced Dirty Chai PERFECT. The last few times I've gotten it whatever Sbux seems to not get it right! I'll just have to leave my house a little earlier since my old Sbux was drive-thru (SLOW drive thru...) Anyway it's easy for me to just hop right on to the 405 N so I'm good to go! Stopped by here on the way back from running an errand. The place is small kinda reminds me of the one in Gardena on Artesia and Western. The reason i went was because i read about the secret menu on Yahoo today so i was curious about the Capt Crunch Frapp so i tried it. The taste was like the berry flavor capt crunch cereal here's the kicker the top of mouth had the capt crunch after taste like i just ate the cereal. It was a trip i have to admit it was pretty good. This is my work Starbucks. This is where I treat myself if I can get out of bed early enough and be on top of my sh!t enough to leave my apartment on time. I know it's expensive and not very healthy, but everyone needs motivation, right? I'm always afraid to go into any Starbucks at 7:30 AM, but this staff is on top of their operation here. The line always moves quickly and I'm never waiting for more than a few minutes for my drink, even with the pre-work crowd. I've never encountered an unfriendly barista. They're always full of energy and positivity, and conversate with me while they take my order or hand me my coffee. I know "conversate" isn't a word, but I just really like to use it anyway. Bonus points for a real parking lot. It's a smaller store and doesn't have too many tables, so it isn't the greatest for a laptop camper, hence the 4 stars. Very unsatisfied. I was in line for a few minutes when a guy walked up then the employee Niko took him before as he saw me waiting after he help two gentleman at around 8:50 am . Some of the friendliest baristas at this store. I always get my drink right, and they're quick. This store gets really crowded. Luckily they open at 4:30am, so if you're an early bird this store is perfect. The lobby is a good size and the patio is nice and hidden away. The one thing I dislike about this store is the parking lot. I don't know what it is about a Costco nearby that makes people crazy. Maybe it's the layout, who knows. read more

Horrible experience the manager Clarisse the African-American female manager rude they made my drink horrible it taste like dirt and it was cold I also ordered a grilled cheese and that was cold when I got i. I waited over 35 minutes for my drink & food for it all to be horrible and then when I come back in from my car they have a attitude and take another 20 minutes to make my replacement. I think it's crazy Ithey're insane the staff is horrible they ignored me after I spent almost $20 at this location I do plan on contacting the district manager or corporate it's disgusting. Claire's stated she was the manager I would like to be put in contact with her supervisor. Also there main focus is mobile orders they put in person customers on the back burner make us wait until they have filled all the mobile orders. Of all the Starbucks in the world, this one is just okay. My biggest complaint is the line that is OUT THE DOOR practically no matter what time you go there. I was there at 7:30 on a rainy Saturday morning and there must have been 10-12 people in line. The staff isn't very friendly and don't have just a great sense of urgency. Okay, I take that back....that was my 2nd biggest complaint. My biggest complaint is that the coffee is never hot. Its warm but never hot. And, if I ask the barista to steam it and make it hotter they act like that is unthinkable - hmmm, why do they do this at other Starbucks when you complain of the coffee not being hot. And, no, I will not spend an extra dollar ordering an Americano. You should just turn up the temperature or brew a fresh pot more often. Perhaps I should have gone with 2 stars. read more

I came here for a nice study spot and I will say that it is indeed actually very nice! I don't have super high expectations for Starbucks just for the sole reason that it's a Starbucks but this location is very nice! The interior decor doesn't look much different than most Starbucks but it just feels cleaner and more open than other Starbucks I have been in. There are many tables here, which is optimal for studying. And most of the these tables have outlets! I think the only ones that do not have outlets are the two tables in the center of the store. Their staff members are very nice and quick. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte and it was made very well! I had a very great experience here, which made my grueling and dreadful 5 hour study session that much better. read more

Stopped by on my way to work 12/30/2020 at about 5 am.. I know I wasn't quite awake yet which makes it even more impressive to me how awake all the staff were. They were all just super friendly. One thing I would also like to mention is that they called me by name when they asked if I wanted my muffin warmed or if I wanted a stopper for my drink. I placed an order for a Grande White Chocolate Mocha through the app for pickup. The white chocolate mocha had no white chocolate sauce, no whipped cream\sweetened cream and hardly any steamed milk. It was very disappointing that the beverage was made wrong especially at the price we are paying. Also the pumpkin loaf bread was not warmed up. A lack of attention to detail and customer service can become a major problem at any business. I would love to hear back from this store. read more

Everywhere I go to a SB, I get the same thing, Starbucks doubleshot over ice w/ cream instead of milk. ONLY this place messes that up, all the other locations get it right. You're not supposed to shake/stir it. You put the coffee, then the cream, then some sweetener. It's not supposed to come out looking homogeneous. There's supposed to be a distinct gradient between the coffee and creamer/milk. This location needs to retrain their employees. Stop stirring the drinks when you're not supposed to. read more

I told myself I'd try to keep away from reviewing big chain locations like McDonald's, 7-Elevens, and Starbucks, but this has been eating at me for a long while now, so I'll make this one exception. I've been coming to this location practically daily for the past 6 months and have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: When I first started coming here, the staff was full of life, energy, and happiness. There were 3 baristas in particular that always called their customers by name. They would know their drinks by heart and practically have them ready by the time they ordered. The line was consistently backed up to the door, yet they managed to get you your drink within 5 minutes of you stepping in the door. Very peppy and cheerful, their overall spirit and demeanor rubbed off on all the customers. They made coming to this location something to look forward to in the mornings. The Bad: Those good times mentioned just now? Gone for the last 3~4 months. They've brought in a new group of people that obviously want to get out of there. I've seen the same faces everyday for 3~4 months, ordered the same Grande Skinny Hazelnut Latte everyday, and have given them my name every single day, and I still get the wrong drink and wrong name. I know I may be expecting a little much, but if I've seen you for even 2~3 weeks everyday, you're bound to know that I'm a creature of habit and can cater to that. This new bunch is borderline hostile, never a smile or a glimmer have happiness. They operate much slower and the quality of drinks have been extremely incosistent. One day, I will receive a latte that tastes burnt. The next day, it will be extremely over-sweetened. It's very pitiful to know what this location was 6 months ago versus what it is now. The good thing about them having bad attitude is that their old loyalty customers have gone elsewhere, so the lines are relatively shorter than they were before. The Ugly: Every morning at around 7:15am - there's this one couple that meets there like clockwork and they make amusement park PDA look elementary. These people seriously need to meet at a motel down the street because I'm trying to enjoy my coffee.. not see... 'that'. Also, these guys seriously need to take a customer service and accommodations course. When they make mistakes, they take no corrective actions and even make me feel like I'm the one in the wrong. When you screw up on an order or you over-charge someone for their drink - at least fake looking like you're sorry, fix your mistake, and send me on my way instead of arguing with me. Seriously. Conclusion: I've tried going to other Starbucks locations, but this one is immediately off the freeway and closest to my work. I will continue putting up with this crap because - hell - I don't know any better or am too lazy to drive the extra distance to the next Starbucks. But please - whatever happened to Cheryl and Ruby? You need to bring them back. You've lost so many customers now that they're gone. read more

This is a convenient Starbucks when heading to the 405 from Manhattan Beach. In a strip mall just before the 405, the location makes it easy (but the parking lot can be tricky). This is the usual Starbucks selection of drinks, food, etc. Service is usually better, as it is not as well attended (or the employees do a better job). Also ... this Starbucks recently underwent an upgrade. While most Starbucks have a number of different seats and couches indoor, this one has patio furniture outdoors as well. read more

Yes, I'm a fan of the mass produced caffeine dispensing evil empire. I love coffee, tea and anything with caffeine in it, ergo Starbucks feeds my addiction with a friendly smile, a cute barista girl and that warm feeling inside that comes from their "Third place" business model. That "third place" is key for me, I travel a lot and having some place that is equal parts new and familiar is always nice and comforting. All locations have their positives and negatives. I've noticed the barista's in California don't know about speed and get flustered when it comes to multiple orders hitting the lone barista on bar. This is why I keep my drinks simple yet satisfying. An iced venti unsweetened green tea will do wonders to improve my day. read more
