I was here a total of 7 minutes by the way. Yes, I walked in didn't order anything as I was setting up for my meeting but instead I would feel that it would be polite to say something like "Hello can I take your order" or "I see you're settled, I can take your order when you're ready" I would have gladly preferred that instead. You Starting off a conversation without a hello, how are you? Can I be any of assistance? Is just terrible customer service to me! I felt offended and rushed to hurry my order before being potentially kicked out of an empty Starbucks! Due to so much stuff happening with this establishment I see why so many people boycotted Starbucks as a whole! I haven't been to this location in two years and loved how it's been renovated and it was lovely to see, however, did the staff have their morning coffee this morning because I ordered a Matcha and I still said please and thank you after being hurried to order! Do I understand I should pay before using the free wifi but where is the sign saying that must do so! My French Teacher is practicing Ramadan and I didn't want to drink in her face while she was fasting on our Zoom Call but was certainly going to order refreshments for my mom and I after the meeting. The entitlement in here and the language the baristas are discussing about each person that orders in the drive thru is unfortunate "hearing right now as I type this is "that's dumb, that's f***ing terrible !" Wow it's Sunday! I have to leave and will be ordering the rest of my breakfast at another location for my mother. Very disappointing because I really used to love this location but the staff has changed from the friendly faces from two years ago. I was desperate for cup of coffee, walking distance from my workplace. The woman at the register, taking orders was either asleep or just bored, looked up after about 40 seconds standing waiting to order. They previously had coffee of the day made and could choose from those options. Not currently. I was a little confused. So I asked for a short, smallest cup that can be ordered, with cream. Cost nearly $3.00 for smallest cup. Woman who made the coffee politely asked if enough cream was added. My initial impression was "lack of interest in me as a customer." This is a pretty basic Starbucks. Like a bunch of other people on this Yelp page, I had some time to kill before I was picked up from the train station across the street. I figured Starbucks was as good of a place as any to wait it out. Inside, it was empty. There was one customer at the register, one in the seating area inside, and one in the outside area. Even still, it was a pretty long wait for us to get served. The woman in line in front of me had to point out that there was spilled milk all over the floor. The poor girl who I am assuming is the manager had to repeat herself at least a dozen times to the same worker to clean it up, which just made service even slower. My coffee, once I got it, was pretty good. Normal Starbucks Frappuccino in a coconut mocha flavor of some sort. The outdoor seating area is really nice, with plenty of shade/umbrellas, chairs and tables, as well as outdoor couch-like seats. It was much nicer and less dreary than the inside. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this location, but I'd come back when I'm at the train station. read more

Normally, the people are nice and at least try. What is frustrating is that our drink never tastes as it should. The Caramel frap is always far too sweet, and it shouldn't be. I've gotten that drink for over a decade, and this is the only location that either doesn't have the proper training on making drinks correctly, or they don't have all of the ingredients so it never tastes correct. Either way, these drinks are way too expensive to ALWAYS have this issue. And I mean always. But also.... Their drive thru takes a long time. Which isn't a huge deal. But!! They premake drinks so far in advance that, by the time I get to the window, my Frappuccino is either half melted or completely melted. That's a big no for me. A melted drink is not what I'm paying $8 for. We won't be coming to this location anymore because of that. I'm not going to buy an $8 drink and have it melted and taste bad every... single... time. read more

If you are looking for a place to hang out, the outdoor seating area faces the train tracks if you are waiting for someone to arrive via Metra Electric. This is probably one of the most frustrating locations I've ever been to, and it's a shame because they have a lot of potential. It takes SO long to get through the drive thru. We waited at the window once for more than 15min for two drinks. I've ordered a caramel frap for over 10 years. This is the only location I've been to that makes it incorrect 9 out of 10 times. Most times it literally has zero flavor. Other times I can tell they put the wrong ingredients in it. Either way, that's horrible. The amount of money I pay for this drink, I do absolutely expect it to be right. I don't know if that is a training issue, or what the deal is... I love this Starbucks. It has been one of the few local establishments that offers real hospitality coupled with quality service. Today was the exception to the rule. Not only were there boxes stacked in the sitting area, the staff seemed overwhelmed and did not offer so much as a greeting to entering customers. When I brought the issue to the manager's attention, she did apologize and say that she would address the issue. I appreciate her willingness to do so, however, I'm sure the young ladies behind the counter today were already trained to say... "Hello, someone will be right with you. " Hospitality is becoming regrettably a lost art. I just wish that my favorite Starbucks location was immune to this shift, but I guess not. So disappointing read more

Very slow! The manager needs to step up, usually always out of one of the ingredients in a blended drink. I'm pretty much am surprised when oat milk is available. Recent order was a mocha frap with oat milk, no oat milk so went with soy. What I received was basically a grande of chocolate syrup. read more

Everytime I order a caramel frap or a flavored mocha I get a drink that never tastes the same as it did the last time I ordered it. I don't like that. The Starbucks on Halsted always makes the drinks and it's consistently the same and delicious. Sometimes at this location I get drinks that don't even taste like what I ordered, like they should taste. I also don't like how the employees interact with the customers. They aren't friendly and a couple times they've mentioned the tipping option on the app and if I was treated like they actually were happy I was a customer there I would tip but since I always leave feeling like I've inconvenience the staff there I don't tip, otherwise I'd happily tip for good service and leaving on a positive note. read more

I don't think I have ever had two bad experiences at a Starbucks but things happen...so I write this as an opportunity to know that things could be better at this location. Today I received the wrong drink size and not extra hot request...I know not the end of the world, and I'm definitely grateful to be able to afford the drink, but looking forward to a specific something and getting less than is disappointing. Oh yes, the staff was nice and did offer to correct it but the line was long and so didn't chance the wait. My previous experience at this location was a half-cooked breakfast sandwich...that was definitely a turn off and so I'm done with the sandwich order. I have gotten coffee here via drive through but I had never been inside. However, my 91 year old father loves to come here and the Baristas treat him kindly so that was 4.5 stars for me right there. Thursday I needed to pick my daughter up from the Homewood Train Station, time a bit fuzzy as trains from Champaign are often late. Solution? Hang out in Starbucks, work on blogs and drink coffee in a spot where she could walk over and meet me. I just wish I had gotten there earlier because this is a very nifty spot. I have no idea how I ended up at a Starbucks in Homewood... OK, I do know--let's just say I had time to kill from taking a train to being picked-up for an event. In fact, I was here twice over two days, going in different directions. Nice atmosphere, very friendly young staff. And on the way back, it was a late afternoon with what was definitely a quorum of teens, but they behaved themselves well. The counter people had good senses of humor as well. Much as I'd love to go back, I try not to stretch myself TOO often past the Chicago city limits. The best Starbucks there is, and I've been to dozens. This is my regular locale, despite there being another location closer to me. The baristas here top notch, friendly, helpful, and it seems they only hire good looking people. As an ugly person I would take offense but, well, coffee tastes better when the barista is cute. No matter how ridiculously over the top my or my wife's orders are, they are always friendly about it. They occasionally make mistakes, but I never have to feel like an asshole about it because they always correct it without giving any trouble or showing any signs of irritation. I tip as much as I can when I come here because these guys and gals work their asses off and always make me feel welcome. It is worth going out of your way in this neighborhood to get to this Starbucks. There are three in the town but this is the good one. read more

Not too long ago, who ever would have thought that we would all be waiting in line for a cup of coffee? Granted, Starbucks has brought the good stuff to town but I still often feel like I'm in a Woody Allen movie standing there on line for sometimes 15 minutes listening to what all the people in front of me are ordering as well as listening to how their day is going (so far) and their opinions on stuff. But, I know peops gotta get their machiatto fix or whatever. I swear, several times I've been behind the same lady in-line, you know that one who's talkin a bit too loud to some apparent doof on her cell phone, and several times now after 10 minutes of line waiting, she get's up to the plate and looks to the menu and says "humm.... let's see..... what-do-you-call that milkshake thing again??? On the off occassion that I'm there when there actually is NO line at all, believe it or not, they always somehow just ran out of brewed coffee??? Ya know? Ya walk in, and you can see perfectly well that, yes!, there is NO LINE, canch ya? You say to yourself, in your pretty little head, "I'm gonna actually get out of this place in les than 7 minute! Yes!" You get excited... don't ya? Alright sorry for my rantaciousness. Idea: Have a separate line(in the mornings) just for the regular coffee people who aren't there to talk & stuff with the baristas. The service is always very good at this location. It's clean and the outdoor area is nice when the weather is good. My only complaint is that it tends to be very crowded. Occasionally, I like to sit down to do work or study. Unfortunately, there often is not a table available. There are other locations nearby that I would recommend. The service was subpar. I was very disappointed. I visited today June 3, 2018 after church. I think it was around 11:30am. It took a while for us to be greeted and acknowledged by anyone in the store and the person that took our order never acknowledged or said anything. She just looked so I awkwardly figured that must be the signal to state my order. Most of the employees looked unhappy and there was not a friendly vibe. I will never return to this location. A really nice little Starbucks. Comfortable furniture and seating, which comes in great when you are waiting for your train to arrive at Homewood Station, and don't want to stand on the windswept platform being pelted with rain or snow. They are across the street from the Homewood Station for the Metra Electric Line, and walking distance from the rest of the Homewood downtown area. They also have a drive through window. read more

It's seen better moments. Waited for awhile to find out that no one is in the bathroom, the lock is broke! It locks when no one is in there and then when I finally went in, it wouldn't lock. I had a patron inform me it was available and when I asked an employee to unlock it, it became a game of hot potato. One girl would have but she had just cut her hand on glass and was walking around clutching a napkin to keep from bleeding all over! Not to fear, the 1/2 dozen flies buzzing around if trained properly could have helped...I took my tall drink and got out...a mere 20 minutes after I walked in! read more
