This is probably the busiest Starbucks I have ever been to. However, even if it is co-located in a corner of two busy streets near a major freeway with other shops and establishments, parking is plenty. You may not get a parking spot directly in front of the store, but parking is always available within 45 seconds walk. There's plenty of seating good for groups, small teams, and solo. It got stools, regular size chairs, and benches. One downside probably is that they don't have outlet to plug in your laptop. Outlet is a big thing for me since I like to work online and at the same time enjoying that sip. Another downside is that the restroom is located outside the store. You'd have to ask the barista for the key and walk back outside and find the restroom in the opposite corner in that strip. Because it is one of the busiest stores, the atmosphere gets really loud in a bad way. Nevertheless, the store got my order accurately, though I noticed it took longer than expected. Memories... This location of Starbucks in Nuuanu used to be Chun Hoon Supermarket. Our mom used to bring me and my 3 sisters here after elementary school for a snack. Later, this site became Hungry Lion Restaurant where my parents and I (as an adult) had breakfast after church on Sunday mornings. Wow. So many changes! Right now, this property is a busy Starbucks. Located on the corner of Nuuanu Avenue and School Street, every table was occupied when I visited on a Saturday afternoon! I had done Mobile ordering and my drink was ready. I also ordered at the counter to complete a Starbucks challenge. Yippee! No line! The service was satisfactory and the store was clean! Parking was free but a bit crowded. It was somewhat early so I decided to order Starbucks so I ordered and waited until the estimated time for pickup is and went in to pick it up. However when I got in my drink wasn't ready and there was no one else in the store besides the 7-8 workers. I had ordered my drink before my boyfriend and his drink was waiting for him when he walked into the store. I was watching them make drink by drink and none of it was mine. My boyfriend was watching them too and told me they were making my drink finally so I was anticipating so I was watching it but it disappeared. It was not given to anyone and it did not end up on the mobile pickup counter and I was still standing there waiting for my drink. Not long after, my boyfriend tells me they are re-making my drink so I decided to keep my eyes on it and finally got my drink. When I got my drink, I looked at the whip cream and it was very tiny bit so I told them I had ordered for Extra Whip Cream. The worker at the mobile pickup counter took my drink to get more whip cream and when she came back with my drink, the whip cream looked the same. So much emptiness. The first drink they made that disappeared had whip cream filled to the brim which was what I ordered but unfortunately not what I received. While I was waiting for this, I tried to understand if they were busy but half the workers were either standing around or talking with each other or playing around. I'm updating my review a bit... The staff here are 100% awesome! They're always pleasant and friendly. There's always parking, even though this location can be busy sometimes. I suggest mobile ordering to avoid lines, and I usually put my order in about 10 min prior to pick up. That ensures that even if they're busy, you don't have to wait. If you don't have the ap, or prefer to order in person, you walk in to the left (following the arrows on the ground) and order at the counter. Sorry, no drive-thru here. For mobile order pickup, you just walk up to the counter/tables on the right and give them your name. They'll grab it from their back bar and you're all set! Beware, sometimes people will order right before they arrive and there will be a line on the mobile order side. If you've ordered more than 10 min prior, I'd suggest walking up to the counter (past the line) and they'll ask for your name. Ordering ahead saves the hassle of waiting... My only complaint is my drink isn't always made consistently (there's room for interpretation - it's not a standard preset item). I almost never complain and just drink it however it's made. But when I have asked for an adjustment, they are still super pleasant and accommodate my request! Hope this info helps... read more

I came to this new location during the holiday season, either October or November 2017. I didn't have a special pass or whatever to obtain the Pumpkin Spice Latte earlier than other customers, however, the Barista was nice enough to allow me to have one. I guess he assumed since I knew about this early VIP pass, I probably had gotten an email. Actually, I knew about this because of Instagram. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to get an early PSL, but I got one anyway. I'm not sure why this place doesn't receive more stars. I like how this location is new, and very close to my work. You would think that since the parking lot is shared with Wal-Greens, it would be hard to find a spot. But no, it isn't. I've had positive experiences with the employees, although at times you have to wait a little longer for your order compared to other locations. Still, it's spacious with lots of inside seating. For being new, this place is very busy in the mornings, but still not as cramped with extremely long lines, as other locations. I hope it stays this way in the mornings. Decided to check out this new Starbucks in Nuuanu Shopping Center. There's plenty of parking but always full most of the time:) Walked in and wow, it was big! Every table taken on the Saturday morning at 11:00am.The line was short and got my Pikes with Vanilla in my own sealable cup. The Vanilla has the perfect amount of sweetness so no added sweetener is needed. Also tried the Seared Steak, Egg & Tomatillo Wrap. It was hot and delicious. Got to say, it was very fulfilling. Finally a Starbucks close to home! I really like this particular Starbucks location for a couple of reasons: 1) So close to home 2) It's a real chill spot and.. 3) The workers/staff are always friendly when I come in here. I'm in here literally writing this review while munching on my Spicy Chorizo Egg sandwich, it's a personal favorite of mine and sippin on my Mocha Fappe which is one of my favorite drinks from here. The store's set up is pretty neat. A lot of tables and chairs as soon as you walk in. Good for the big late night crowds or that afternoon rush. The counter is towards the back on your left upon entering. Only one way in and out. As soon as you enter the store, You can see that they still have the wall covering the big tree that the Hungry Lion restaurant did many years back. So again.. friendly staff, a whole lot of area to hangout and the location is what makes this Starbucks Coffee spot a good one in my opinion. A brand spankin new spot in this neighborhood. read more

Great convenient location for us early morning coffee consumers. I went here at 0520 and they were open. Lisa and the staff were pretty friendly. They're still working out the kinks, but it looks like it'll be a great place to hang out. Much larger than the Kamehameha SC location. Shhh, don't tell anybody it's here! (lol) This is the old Hungry Lion location. Unfortunately, the famous banyan tree was not incorporated into the design of the store. It's hidden behind a wall at the front of the store. Covid WTF moment: ordered "Chai Latte with coconut milk" at Starbucks from cashier, wearing mask with plastic divider, then order comes out delivered by different barista. I ask her, "Chai Latte with coconut milk?" twice and ask her to repeat twice Because it's hard to decipher words through the divider and masks (muffling sound). She says, "Yes, (repeats order)." I want to like this location more, because it's conveniently close to my house and I can pop into Walgreens in the same parking lot for something and grab a coffee while I'm there... but there's a few things that hold this place back from me being stoked about this Starbucks. The parking lot is too small for the number of businesses during peak hours. I noticed several stalls are designated as 15 or 30 minute limits, which is fine if you're grabbing stuff to go, but if you're going to Starbucks to meet a friend or chill out and relax or get some work done, then you can't park there. I almost saw a fight break out over a parking spot on my last visit, where a guy slipped into a stall someone else was waiting for. I'm talking some Fried Green Tomatoes parking beefs, arms raised and screaming and honking horns. So not cool. Parking is cutthroat and stressful! Next gripe is the phone app doesn't update for this place's food inventory. I ordered food on it and went to get it and the barista said they'd sold out of it hours ago. So then I had to process a refund, which was a pain. She didn't really have a good attitude about it either, as if it was MY fault for ordering something out of stock. I've also had problems with drinks being out of stock after I ordered them on my app so I get there expecting to grab and go, but have to order something else on the spot. Idk if this is an issue that's common with SBs but I've only run into it at this location. Next is the lines are long and the service is slow. I waited about 15 minutes for a drink on a Friday at 10:30am, with a huge line of people impatiently waiting ahead of me for their fix. The counter is often out of half and half, or understocked on sugars, but due to the lines, it takes a while to get these things restocked when you need them. The shopping center location is a hub for drug deals so there's some sketchy characters in the parking lot (NEVER leave anything visible in your car here or there's a high chance it will be stolen!). Also, on my last visit, there was someone camped out at a table with a suitcase, pillow and jar of peanut butter. And a tweaker, laying on the floor with his cell phone plugged into the wall socket while his tweaker friend sat across from him shaking and talking to himself while they waited for the phone to charge (most likely to call their dealer). The staff don't enforce a no loitering/ no crackhead policy so it makes me uneasy to sit there with my purse not safely within reach or bring my work laptop. Overall, it's an ok spot to grab a coffee and go, but I don't recommend it as a place to hang out and relax. read more

This Starbucks is minutes from my home. I have been coming to this location for over 2 years. I've learned a few things in that time. 1. The mobile app is a blessing. It's a great way to accumulate points to get free drinks or treats (if you come to Starbucks on a daily/weekly basis as I do). Also for ordering ahead, I love being able to order from my phone and pick it Up in store. I've rarely had issues with people taking my order (having the same name), and the workers are very kind about replacing it. And 2. The times to avoid!!!! Ordering from the app is great but I've learned the times to do so 5-7am is good, anything after 8 and you may be waiting awhile as many others working in the surrounding area are ordering as well. The workers at this location are very friendly and there is ample handicap seating available. Very ADA compliant (there are some locations in downtown that are not). This is a huge plus for me as I have friends in wheelchairs, and this Starbucks is totally accessible for them! I'll continue to frequent this Starbucks as long as I live nearby! read more

You've seemed to figure out that im there for my post-shift beverage and I really appreciate that you always ask how my day went. Its clear that you care about the service you provide, the way you treat your customers and how you present yourself. Anyway, this location is clean, well kempt, and spacious. Obviously you can't dine in right now. My drinks are consistently made the same. If you order online, they'll deliver to your vehicle out front. Foot traffic is pretty slow when I go: Noonish to about 2. Parking is never an issue for me, but depending on time of day -- it can be rough. The lot is shared with other retailers. This location was the Hungry Lion Restaurant. Parking is available but can be busy since there's other restaurants and Walgreens in the same lot. I don't think there's street parking because it's on the corner of School and Nuuanu. I was pleasantly surprised on how they decorated the space. They arranged the tables and benches nicely. Starbucks can be busy especially during midterms and finals and may cause limited seatings. They have mobile ordering and the employees are friendly and patient. I come here for Bible Study and I see a few other groups that do the same. The music isn't distracting and the a/c is great! It can be cold so bring a jacket (just in case). The restroom are before the food display. I don't think there's a code, but if there's one then the barista can tell you. The last time I went - I think Tuesday - they were selling 6 re-usable cups for $10.95. I thought it was a great deal and a great Christmas present. These are located before the food display as well. It's against the wall and you won't miss it. They sell the same things as the other stores so if you live in the area, then this is a great location to pick-up. read more

Very limited parking spaces add to the challenge. Uh oh. Did someone forget to do their homework before deciding to open here? This location slams. It's super busy in here in the morning. So I've been cutting these guys some slack considering they recently opened, but common, it's a Starbucks. Their sh!t should be together by now. It's been at least two months? Mobile ordering is the way to go. Right? And my order can't be any easier. A Venti dark roast cup of coffee. Like put the coffee in the cup, cover it, and leave it on the counter for me. I'll be there in ten minutes. Ten minutes later, and it's not there. This has happened three times now. But maybe I should forget the "convenience" of mobile ordering, because if I stand in the long ass line to order at the counter, I get it quicker. The people taking orders at the counter have been really pleasant, but I have seen them a couple of times looking completely overwhelmed and frazzled. And I don't blame them. It's a circus in there in the morning. Regardless, they keep the line moving and more importantly, I get my coffee within seconds. Yess! Then has another girl hand it over to me. I leave to head to work. An hour or so later, I discovered that I had in fact gotten 3 double smoked bacon sandwiches instead. If I wanted 3 double smoked bacon sandwiches then I would have ordered them from the get go. I'm disappointed that they'd think that I wouldn't realize the screw up on their end. To give me a sandwich instead of a chicken wrap protein box is really messed up too.
