Always great service and thus go around I've been coming soon after they open at 5 am. Since this place is a magnet for tourists from the Mainland and other countries, we appreciate that they open early. The staff is on top of knowing that it will be busy at certain hours as I noticed they brew coffee into a coffee pot instead of other Starbucks where the new system allows directed Baristas to make a single cup which slows down the productivity. Smart move for all and its nice to see Jack who works the mornings as the Cashier who is a steady Eddie but gets the job done. read more

The interior looks cooler than the standard Starbucks probably because it used to be a reserve location. I came here for breakfast after running the Hapalua Half Marathon. My order was for a tall flat white, a ham & Swiss on baguette, and a jalapeño chicken pocket. The service was quick and efficient. This Starbucks is really nice inside -- clean, modern, and in a great Waikīkī spot. The space itself is definitely a plus for location and feels well-maintained. That said... the wait for my drink was really long, especially for a standard order. To make matters worse, my Pink Drink was handed to me in a paper cup, which completely ruined the aesthetic . Normally not a huge deal, but this was my birthday reward drink, so yeah... that stung a little. The lady who did that kinda sucked, lol. Ordered ahead via the mobile app in the morning around 9am. This location didn't seem as busy as others in Waikiki for the morning rush. The drink came out just as we entered the location. Definitely not somewhere you wanna go while on a work break, even with pre-ordering, you could pre-order your drink and still walk in the store watch people walk in line, order and get their drinks before you, the staff is not rude. Happy National Pumpkin Spice Day!!! This was the place to grab something different...and I just couldn't believe I have written a review for this place that's gotten my reserve level up. Once was a Starbucks Reserve is now simply Starbucks...but still a spacious stunning place so nothing besides the beans here are reserve. I've come here so many times and thought to do so today which is why I didn't bring my personal cup but instead sip on a sturdy reserve cup. Shakerato was my morning sip and wowza it gave me that much needed burst for sure but since it was National Pumpkin Spice Day what else would I have but a Pumpkin Spice Latte with Pumpkin Cold Foam it's my new obsession and though Starbies started this in August this year, marking the start of October does signify the start of fall in my opinion. As large and spacious this location is the seating hopefully will be restructured one day as besides the bar seats seven and there are six tables that seats two isn't much for this busy location, but is still a great place to get you spice on! We came to Waikiki to have lunch at HK Cafe and decided to stop by to see what kind of cups they had. Nadine C. told me that it was the only Starbucks Reserve in Hawaii. I did not know that. Thanks for the info, Auntie! There are 28 Starbucks Reserves in the world and 6 Starbucks Roasteries in the world. Their reserve locations sell their rarest and best quality coffees. I wasn't in the mood for coffee and opted for a frozen mango dragonfruit lemonade instead. Starbucks makes checking out so seamless. You just pull up the app on your phone and they scan the barcode for payment. I brought my reusable tumbler with me for 10 cents off and 25 bonus stars. My drink was done in five minutes. They called my name and I picked up my drink at the counter. These frozen lemonades are so good, especially on a hot day. read more

Yup, this Starbucks is listed as a Reserve, but honestly, it looks like a regular Starbucks, but they just added the "R" logo. With that being said, you can still get almost of your regular Starbucks items with the addition of some select Reserve items on the menu. Unfortunately, these items are subject to running out and I saw some items already sold out by 7:30am. You can also make orders from the Starbucks app, but some of the reserve items are either not listed or marked as sold out (even though they're still in stock in store). This means if you want a certain item, you'll just have to wait in line at the store for it. Depending on the lines though, your wait time can vary. If you are in the area though and want to try some of the reserve or Oahu-based coffee items, it's worth a visit! I definitely recommend the melrose which was a Manahattan (cocktail) take on coffee and it even comes with a luxardo cherry on top! read more

This review is solely for the afternoon team. The morning Team is extremely fast, efficient and generally friendly. It is always very busy, but everybody is working hard to get the orders done as fast as possible. I come here about three times per week in the mornings and two times per week in the afternoon. The afternoon Team is extremely slow and they spend more time drawing flowers on the cups and writing Aloha and Mahalo instead of being efficient. Sometimes the wait is more than 15 minutes for a mobile order when it appears orders taken at the register are prioritized first. The team is not friendly either. I would suggest focusing on the clients and speed of orders instead of drawing cute pictures and talking story with your team while 12 people are waiting watching one barista make the drink drinks when the other four teammates are standing around with no customers in line. read more

In fact the reserve bar section is just used to store supplies. However business is quite good and they service solid coffee. Located right next to the international marketplace, this Starbucks probably makes some of the best drinks around not to mention they're pastries pair so well with their coffee. The atmosphere and staff are always so friendly and welcoming and it's one of my favorites places to get some work done or take some time out of my day to unwind. I ordered: ICED RESERVE MOCHA with Almond Milk, Micro Blend No. 21, an Expresso shot blend, candied citrus wrapped in flavors of dark chocolate. The Guatemalan base gives it the choco notes and Kenya gives it lots of citrus, esp the candied orange notes. Bestie ordered: ICED CARAMEL MACCHIATO with Almond Milk, Vanilla, with light Caramel drizzle. So as you can see I got the "special" Reserve drink which comes in the "R" cup! How special am I? Ha! This location is a Reserve, and was honestly one of the highlights of my Hawaii vacation mornings. I came two days in a row, ordered in person one day, and mobile ordered the second. Both times, my coffee and sweet treat were speedily and expertly put together. The staff was kind, and speedy -- despite the crowds that would come in. This was my first time visiting a Starbucks Reserve. I had no idea what a Reserve was but apparently it's awesome and I wish I would have discovered it sooner. Basically it's a Starbucks that's sleek, chic, and bougie...offering rare batches of its coffee beans from exotic locations. Specialized drinks are offered at Reserve locations that aren't offered at your regular Starbs. I ordered the Reserve Hazelnut Bianco Latte (hot). It was great. I even loved the black cup. This is a cool Starbucks, in a cool location. I mean it. But, it's a Starbucks Reserve, something I've never heard of before. I came in to get out of the heat and they provided a nice little haven for me and I restructured my trip. I also loved the design of the store. They did have a steady stream of business and the people were so nice. I will definitely come by here on my next trip. I had just eaten and it was quite late in the day, so caffeine was the last thing I wanted or needed. What a life saver during my Hawaii trip. This starbies was just a lil walk away from where I was staying and it was a great start to my adventurous island days. The staff was always super kind even though they were busy all day, and were quick to let us know about any ingredients they didn't have on a particular day. I bought some pins from the Hawaii Starbucks collection here! I did see that all the merchandise was more expensive at the airport compared to actual starbucks locations, so get your merch on site! They had such cute cups and tote bags too. A nice place to sit down and relax (after proving you have your vax card) or to just get your morning caffeine fix and take on the day ahead. read more

Not only did you completely ruin my morning with your disgusting attitude and deplorable customer service, you will always be a reminder of the worst Starbucks experience I've EVER had! So I was super excited to visit my first Reserve store & was expecting superior service and drinks. It was LITERALLY the polar opposite- TERRIBLE drinks AND service! If you'd like to meet the rudest, nastiest cashier in Waikiki, head on over to Starbucks Reserve & look for the old (50+) Caucasian male with white hair. First off, the store is BEAUTIFUL! Tons of Hawaii exclusive merch and a special Reserve menu. It was easy to find (on a corner in Kuhio). We walked there so I'm not sure about parking but if you're walking around Waikiki bring a tourist you'll find it with ease. Was SUPER excited to get my special HNL reserve tumbler and see the biggest assortment of Hawaii exclusive merch! My daughter and I picked out what we wanted and headed over to the cashier. When you are in Hawaii, you generally get amazing, friendly customer service pretty much everywhere you go. NOT HERE. "JACK" was the unfriendly face that was at the register. No hello- just curtly asked "what do you want". I ordered a drink ($6.75 for a non-Reserve Venti drink) & had my merch. He rings it up & I tell him I want to re-load $40 first. He stops, looks at me, & says (in a CLEARLY annoyed tone, "you want to re-load NOW?". I was taken aback by the tone & demeanor. So I said "Sorry- it's because I want to get the stars for my purchase". So he sighs really loud & says, "you SERIOUSLY want to re-load NOW???"... I tell him yes and as I'm telling him if it's a big deal he can forget it I realized he wasn't listening to me and was banging away in the register. When he's done I ask him for a bag for the $30 metal tumbler I just bought- NO answer. He just curtly shook his head no, which I didn't see because I was putting my wallet back in my purse. So when I ask again he loudly and curtly says "NO". No explanation, no sorry. Then he literally shoved my receipt at me & calls next before I leave- no thanks, no goodbye . Just unlike ANY Starbucks experience I've ever had. So I grab the receipt and walk away- as I'm almost at the other end of the store to wait for my drink he sarcastically yells "GOODBYE!!!" across the store, which makes everyone turn and stare. So I'm shocked and left wondering- Did he treat me like this because I asked to re- load??? Or was it because I'm ASIAN??? Hmm... I've worked in customer service and know when someone is tired, annoyed, or just a crappy person. JACK is definitely in that 3rd category and has NO business EVER being behind the register/interacting with customers. He is supposed to represent the Starbucks brand and in turn is a stain on the company's reputation. Not only does he completely fail at meeting basic customer service standards, he fails miserably and has forever tarnished my perception of this Reserve store. AND the drinks were AWFUL! Good coffee but not enough sweetness or flavor. Not sure if he somehow did it on purpose, but both drinks were so bad they were thrown out. Oh & BTW- They only give you Reserve plastic cups if you order a Reserve Menu drink, which is totally misleading because they use those cups as size references at the registers. I made the mistake of asking a tall skinny blonde about why I didn't get my drink in one of those cups and she said, "You only get those if you order a drink from the Reserve menu and you didn't do that"... I was only asking because those have covered kids and I wanted to put it in my bag & didn't want it to spill. SMH. ANYWHO, won't EVER be back. It's also right next to the Fort DeRussy park and Beach Park. The staff is very friendly and filled with Aloha and they are also quick to make your beverages and tasty treats. This is a great location to come in out of the sun and enjoy a refreshing beverage while sitting in the lap of luxury.. They made me realize how special this location of Starbucks is! There's only 41 Starbucks RESERVE Bars in the world as of 12-21-20. (I looked it up on their website.) For example, there are nine in California, three in Texas, and one in Michigan. International countries include Canada, Chile, Mexico, and Japan. The first time I visited this Waikiki location was right before closing. After dinner, we were searching for adventure and we found it! We parked almost illegally, ran across the street, and hurried in before they locked the door! I just wanted a souvenir of The Reserve Bar with the special black star, "Honolulu", and capital letter, "R". I was so happy when I found a white Tumbler that had all of these elements! I got it!!! That's when I saw the yellow studded tumblers that everybody is looking for. Online, I have seen them go for $200 each! Note: Regular price is about $23 without tax. OMG! I hunted for 17 days - searching for that elusive pineapple-looking Tumbler... and the Waikiki Reserve had seven!!! Arggg!!! Anyway, I returned a few days later because I realized that if you get a drink, the disposable cup has an "R" on it! I dashed in and got my free 12 oz cup of coffee for Healthcare Workers for the month of December 2020. Thank you to Starbucks for this perk! However I just got a regular coffee... not one of the reserve blends... so, my cup didn't have the "R" on it. Shucks! I will have to return and get a special coffee someday!
