I came in this morning at around 7:08 am and ordered a double smoked bacon cheddar and egg breakfast sandwich and a petite vanilla bean scone. Both things that SHOULD NOT take much time to make and I didn't care if they were warmed up or not. Then we went and waited in the really crowded waiting area and we heard this one guy go up to the lady calling out orders and ask where his food was (also a sandwich) and say that it's been 12 MINUTES now. That's insane! I'm not waiting 12 minutes (or more than that probably) for a sandwich and a scone! I would have been late for school if I had had to wait that long and as it was I was going to be late for my carpool, so we left. Yes, it is still the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. After my previous review, I received a message from the manager apologizing for my experience. As such, I thought that some of the issues I had (that are not in line with other Starbucks) have been rectified. No, unfortunately they haven't. We came back and gave it another try and they still stack up the cups until they hit at least a dozen before they move it to the bar for processing. I would be okay with cup stacking I suppose if both registers made one stack but again, it is always the one on the right. Epic fail. I would only come to this location if you only wanted plain coffee since that's served by the cashier. Anything else is totally not worth the wait. I'm glad I have a Nespresso at home and Starbucks syrups are available for purchase online. The staff here should visit the Starbucks by Irvine Spectrum (the one across the corner from the plaza with Walmart, Living Spaces and Costco). That one is so incredibly fast. Since recently moving back to Irvine this has become my go to Starbucks. The employees here are very welcoming and friendly even when the shop is busy. My drinks and food are always made properly. The shop is clean and they handle long lines well. This is one of the busiest Starbucks in the area during morning and evening rush hours. The line moves quickly as I mentioned above but be prepared to wait a little bit if you're in a rush. There is plenty of parking and for travelers, there is a Chevron station in the same lot. There is no drive thru if that's what you're after. I highly recommend this shop compared to others in the area. You'll be in and out quickly with a well made cup of coffee. Cheers! read more

More Starbucks... Despite being brimming with teenyboppers, this particular Starbucks has a slightly more cozy feeling than most and for some reason is one of my favorites. I like to have meetings at this one, as opposed to studying, or running in for a brew. It tends to be crowded and loud in the evenings (gotta get that Algebra homework done!). They have a couple of larger tables and a few nice corners to curl up and read. Staff is average, parking is OK since it's in a large shopping center. The teams of employees/barista get worse and worse over the years. 2010-2011 had the best staff teams, and then it just plummet after that. The baristas are rude, impatient and don't really care much for customer service, they seem to be there just to 'make the drinks so that they can make money'. I'm saddened by this and do not ever feel like I want to return. I remember someone had the wrong drink and the barista blamed it (also yelled at the customer) for taking the wrong drink when the barista herself read out the wrong name and read it wrong because the other barista who wrote the name wrote it messy. The customer wasn't even upset at the mistake and just wanted his drink and the barista had a lot of attitude. read more

I've been to many, many Starbucks. I've been to Starbucks in probably 40 different states This one is one of my favorite. There is a TON of leather/lounge seating, and there is also a ton of desk/table seating as well. If you're looking to study, or hang out looking cool with your iPad or laptop, this is the Starbucks for you. Overall, this Starbucks gets 5 stars for the atmosphere. I feel cozy there. This is one of my go to Starbucks locations. There is always quick and accessible parking out front, and the location is great if you're going on the way to work and need to jump onto the 5! I love this Starbucks location because when you walk in there is a huge lobby. They have a large table, small tables, and furniture chairs. This is one of the Starbucks locations that offers Google wifi which is so fast- and great for college students like me who love to sit with my coffee and do homework! I usually order the cold brew iced coffee, or a green iced tea. All the locations offer the same food items which are okay. If you're in a rush and need a coffee they're a bit pricey but you'll get what you pay for. The baristas are super nice here! Some people like Starbucks, others don't. I don't really know why. This one is at the little center right near my house. It's literally a 3 minute drive or a 7 minute walk. I love going here when it's really cold out to get a Caff Mocha or when it's warm out to get a Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade. I must say that one thing Starbucks has gotten right recently is the Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade. Basically it's what it sounds like: Iced tea with lemonade and a bit of sweetener. I choose it over normal iced tea most of the time because of how refreshing it is. I'm a bit angry that they got rid of the Passion Fruit Tiazo from back in 2001 I think but I still come here for the iced tea. I just get it straight, no sweetener or crap, but that's just how I like my iced tea. There's really nothing more to say. Starbucks is Starbucks. Seeing as this Starbucks is the only Starbucks branch in the area that specifically has StreetPass functionality, I come here for any sale items despite closer locations to my office and other places I have to buy office supplies at. At this location, there is a large 10-person table in the middle of the establishment that I keep bumping into when getting in line or moving back and forth between the sugar counter and the bar to get items. It's too long. When one wants to pick up their items, one should pick it up at the bar at the far end of the store. There are two entrances in the store, one at the front of the store and one at the back where one can exit to patio seating or go to the bathroom. During that pre-Valentine's Day event, the cashier did not properly put our pre-Valentine's Day special order in and it took way too long for them to assemble the order, possibly even constructing something that we didn't even order since they kept calling out something that no one picked up. Also, I didn't get a receipt so I don't know if it was discounted properly. Who needs celebrating Valentine's Day? We might as well celebrate Friday the 13th for the bad luck we got during this visit. My previous visits have indicated that this is not a regular occurrence, though. read more

Yesterday, I had small vanilla decaf latte. It was very good. The day before, I ordered the exact same drink at a different location, but it did not taste as good. Actually, I checked the markings on the cup and it wasn't checked as decaf. I believe, it was not decaf, because caffeine affects the taste plus I was up until 3 A.M. I also kept hearing the cashier say the store was out of Grande cups which is pretty unusual for a Starbucks to be out of anything. Not sure why they were out. read more

Starbucks has really gone downhill. In the past two years, I've noticed many locations have shrunk their staff and the workers seem to be less interested in professionalism and efficiency. This leads to much longer wait times, messed up orders and an overall lackluster experience in comparison to the Starbucks that we all used to know. This location is no different. I go here at least once a week, and there are often only two people working and they are very slow. The lines are very long and the bathroom is always filthy. The consistency is gone down as well. Oftentimes, you will order a simple drip coffee like Pike and it tastes like 7-Eleven coffee or something. This has to be the worst starbucks I've ever been to. It sounds like a bold statement but take into account these two facts... 1. I've been to starbucks in countries all around the world. 2. I was a starbucks manager for five years. While each and every experience I've had at this location has been troubled in different ways, essentially the poorly organized and motivated staff just keeps dropping the customer service ball over and over completely by accident and lack of attentiveness. A couple days ago my wife went in and ordered three items. A frap, an iced americano and a chocolate croissant. After ordering the croissant the barista asked her if she wanted it toasted. She specifically told him "no" to which he responded, "oh, but it tastes so much better that way. You will see." and then he toasted it. The americano came out great after a twelve minute wait and the frap was not the flavor ordered. On the way to work or on a lunch break, she doesn't have time for them to spend another ten minuets correcting their mistakes. On a separate day, she ordered an iced coffee. The barista asked if she wanted sweetener, she said "no", very clearly. I was standing right next to her. When the drink came out with sweetener she asked them to re-make it. The barista behind the bar told her "Ma'am, if you want specifics with your drink you need to be clear when ordering." then in a huff went off to remake her drink which for some reason also involved restocking beans and telling the cashier about the movie he saw that weekend. My final story was from about a week ago. I came into the store alone during my lunch break and have very limited time for my coffee indulgence. Luckily there was nobody else in line when I entered the store. There were about four employees hustling around restocking and making mocha and refreshing pastries. I ordered one iced americano. After paying I went and stood at the pick up counter at the bar. The cashier deposited my cup on the side of the bar and began to gaze out the window into the parking lot. One employee washed dishes. One employee stood at the end of the counter talking to a customer about her garden and a large man stood with his back to the store making mocha. After about five minuets of waiting with no barista at the bar, the cashier noticed me just staring at her. She looked to the large man who may or may not be the manager and asked, "Who's on bar?" while he busily made his mocha he replied, "nobody right now." and that was the end of it. The cashier gazed back out the window. I gazed in astonishment at the employees. After a couple minuets a younger girl walked in the front door drinking a green iced tea and as she passed me heading to the back room, the large man called over to her and asked "Hey, will you jump on bar?" she stopped in her tracks, said "ooooo kaaaaayyy" and put her purse and drink on the counter and made my drink for me. As I walked out the door I heard or mention to the man that she was still on her lunch. So, time and time again this Starbucks has been a total customer service fail location. My family, my co-workers and I all now are patrons at the god awful Bruggers Bagles nearby. It's not good, but at least I can get back to work on time with exactly what I order. Pass this location by until its staff can get their act together. So disappointed. read more

i love this starbucks. i'm a regular here, and i see them making my drink whenever i walk through the door. the workers here are really nice, and the managers joey and tim are great! i always get the black tea lemonade with 2 pumps classic sweetener on hot days and i get the soy calm tea misto with no water, two pumps of vanilla, one package of honey, 2 calm tea bags, and no foam on a cold day. the workers also know my ridiculously long drinks so i don't have to explain everything. Sunday my cousin wanted to make a stop at Starbuck's so we came here. Despite this being my neighborhood Starbuck's I rarely come here because it takes so much longer than almost any other one, but I wasn't in a rush today, so it didn't matter. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a coffee shop. When it was my turn to order I noticed that the barista seemed like this was the last place on earth he wanted to be. Alright, people have bad days, it's a Sunday and has to work. I get it, it happens. I have a ploicy if still trying to be polite in those situations because maybe it was a customer who put them there and it takes aa nice customer to make their day better. The drink I wanted was discontinued, so I told the person ahead of me to go on while I thought for a moment. When they were done I said "can I get a grande carmael Frappucino with extra caramel? And then I also need a grande decaf coffee and a grande Very Berry Hibiscus?" You would have thought I asked for 15 custom orders the way he rolled his eyes and sighed. I'm sorry I had 3 orders, I tried to make them quick and straight forward and the only thing special I asked for was extra caramel. Again I didn't make a big deal about it. When I was done I went to my cousin and asked if the guy was rude to him as well, and he confirmed that he was extremely rude. Saying, it's obvious this is the last place on earth he wants to be. When we went to wait for our orders I noticed a frappucino was called and a little girl about 10 years old walks up to get it and the baristia literally THREW THE STRAW AT HER! A CHILD!!! It bounced off her chest and she picked it up and walked to where her Dad was waiting for her. In retrospect shame on me for not bringing it to her Dads attention. After a moment of shock I take my phone out to write about it on Facebook, while I was writing my cousin's drink is called and he comes back and says, "You won't believe this!" "What?" I ask, "Did they throw your straw at you?" "YES!" He replied, "I'm standing there with my hand out to take it and he just threw it at me, how rude is that?!" To which I reply, "Still not as bad as throwing it at a child!" A little while later two of my drinks are ready. I get up to go get them (straw for the frappucino was already there.) As I'm grabbing them I see the third Barista has finished my Very Berry Hibiscus, I turn to ask my cousin take our Grandmothers coffee so I can grab my drink, when I turn around it's sitting in front of one of the machines ready, just missing a lid, but both baristas are gone. "Where'd they go?" I'm waiting and waiting and debating on if I just lean on the counter and reach in for my drink and head out sans lid. Finally they both emerge from the back one empty handed, the one that had made my drink has milk in his hands. The one without anything in his hands starts making someone else's drink. I say, "That's my drink right there, it just needs a lid." He just ignores me and keeps working. Finally the guy that was making my drink finishes stocking the frdge with milk puts a lid on mine and hands it to me. It takes less than a second to place a lid on a drink. There's no excuse to not do it before stocking the fridge from something not needed for my drink. read more

Mobile ordering at least helps you bypass their hideously long and molasses-like line. But I could tell just by looking at my drink it wasn't right. When I asked, the barista picked up the cup and read the label to me. Yeah, honey, I know what I ordered. But that's not what you made. When an iced latte is made with whole milk, it has a yellow tint to it. If I know that, you should too. And if I'm paying $5 for coffee, you better make it right. read more

I ordered three drinks, one with apple juice. I waited for 30 minutes just to go ask and find out they had just had been letting the cup sit on the counter because they ran out of apple juice, and didn't bother to tell me they ran out. By the time they made the drink with a different substitute my other two fraps had melted, and they did not even call out my name to tell me. When i asked for them to remake the drinks they did not seem apologetic at all. One of the workers, Elsa, walked past my unmade drink several times, and did not call out my order to at least give me the already made drinks. She was extremely slow and just stood next to her coworker having a conversation. Overall i waited 40 minutes for three drinks, and when i explained my situation to another worker they barely apologized while cutting me off, and did not offer any compensation for my time. I work in the food industry, drinks specifically, and would never treat a customer like this. Even if it was a mistake I would have gone out of my way to make sure the upset customer is taken care of. Workers like these are what are bringing the Starbucks company name down, therefore, the quality of the store. Almost an hour wasted of my time and received no help whatsoever. read more
