Ok, giving one star in hopes that someone sees this. I like Starbucks, I really do. And we're at a Starbucks at least once a week. But why is it that 3 times out of ten you PUT WHIPPED CREAM ON MY ICED CAFE LATTE?! It's a COFFEE and it's not supposed to have whipped cream on it. STOP DOING THAT! We order off the app and there is no option to say no whipped cream, so that isn't something I can do. You can't order your double espresso with no ice just like you can't order a cafe latte with no whipped cream. The service here is over the top! My husband and I visited for a valentines breakfast out. I was excited to try the new vegetarian friendly offering on the menu: the spicy falafel packet. Sorry to share it fell really short of my hopes. There are many yummy offering like the spinach feta wrap and oatmeal and egg bites that satisfy. So I had high hopes for this new offering. After 3 bites of mostly tasteless breading and non spicy mushy filling, I trudged up to the counter to ask for a make good. The counter folks were happy to accommodate and bent over backwards to make sure I got something I liked. I felt really taken care of. This Starbucks location is in a nice area. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is plenty of parking and this location has a drive thru. The staff is very friendly. Absolutely worst Starbucks in the St Louis area. I get the same order from Starbucks regularly. Quad espresso, heavy cream steamed extra hot. I get my order and it's cold. So I pull in and go inside and tell them the cream wasn't steamed and the drink is cold. The server proceeds to tell me they wouldn't steam the heavy cream. I explain to her I order the same drink all the time and it's always steamed. She tells me, "no we wouldn't do that. This drink is made by pouring cold cream into the espresso." When I tried to explain that every other Starbucks steams the cream as ordered, she continued to inform me I was wrong about my drink that I order on a regular basis. I got tired of arguing about a coffee with her and told her to just keep it and I'll go somewhere else, even though I had paid for the drink. Went to Kaldi and got a properly made espresso with steamed cream. It's not the first time this location has had issues. Do yourself a favor and go down the road to a different location if you don't want to argue over a coffee drink. read more

Went to this Starbucks a few weeks ago and still upset about the situation. I decided during my lunch break to spend the rest of my work day sitting at a Starbucks, sipping on a coffee. I went and ordered my coffee, for there around 11:30 and sat down and started working and drinking my coffee. After being there for a bit they told me that they are shutting down the inside of their cafe in 15 minutes (their website said they were supposed to close at 9). The employee told me that I could stay in here, when I wanted to leave I would just tell an employee and they would let me out, at this point there is about 10 people in the coffee shop. They know my order as soon as I walk in. I appreciate the barista's effort here...makes me feel special because this isn't even my "home location" lol. It could be that we share the same first name, whatever the reason she pays attention to detail and makes sure my cup of Joe is made to perfection. This is the worst experience at any Starbucks that I have ever had. Hearing the workers talk about the customers openly in a judging way is obviously not going to improve their customer connection rate. They were not friendly whatsoever and we ordered multiple drinks during our visit, yet we did not receive one smile, greeting, or "farewell" from a Starbucks partner. It is your typical Starbucks in appearance, so I won't go into that. The employees were nice, occasionally there were some conversations behind the counter that I was taken aback by, which actually surprised me. But my mocha was good and I was able to snag a nice comfy chair with a foot rest so I could kick back while writing on my tablet. The only bad thing about this location is that it was my first time there and I passed by it on Manchester the first time. I had to turn on my GPS to figure out I had already passed it and turn around. I ordered an extremely simple Grande Iced Coffee with caramel syrup and 2% milk. When I drove up to the window, I received a hot coffee. I informed the server that I ordered an iced coffee. The very same hot coffee I was offered was mixed with ice and put into an iced cup. It was disgusting!! Then I returned and explained the situation and the woman who took my initial order was telling me what I ordered automatically comes hot..how does an iced coffee automatically come hot? So when I got up to the window for the second time, they gave me what I ordered but made it with the oldest, most disgusting tasting coffee imaginable! Not what I would expect from Starbucks. I love Starbucks coffee. I love the way it tastes and I love the way it smells. But, they are NOT all the same. Some are consistently good and some are flops. This one is one of the best. Take this morning, for instance. I had a nice conversation with the very personable lady at the counter regarding our kids. (She showed me a pic of one her sons - pulled it out of her apron pocket - love that!) Then I waited for my decaf frappucino. The girl making the drink put one down only it was slightly wrong (caramel instead of coffee) so she took it back and tried again. Evidently, she wasn't able to get it right so she had the guy working there do it. The guy made it (and it was perfection, btw - so many places don't know to blend the ice until smooth and you end up with ice chunks blocking your straw) and I thanked him and was just about on my way when the girl who had tried making it let me know she had comped my drink since it took a little long. Wait? What? I wasn't even upset about it nor did I complain and they took it upon themselves to comp my drink? In the words of DJ Lance Rock on Yo Gabba Gabba, "That was Awwwwesommmmme!" Seriously, most places don't do anything to correct wrongs unless you complain. This was sincerely most appreciated and it dawned on me that I have always gotten primo service at this particular Starbucks. Bravo! read more
