I almost always go for a red eye when I visit a coffee shop for the first time, but there are alot of appealing alternatives; I might have to try Maple Bourbon latte on a future visit. Being a major fan of breakfast food, I had to order the hearty Brake Shop burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, bacon, cripsy tater tots, and pico del gallo. It arrived quickly, hot, and even more filling and flavorful than I expected. Beyond that, Upshot offers an ample menu of other breakfast and lunch options; my wife ordered a Turkey Sando and custom-made iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. We don't get that many beautiful days in the midst of St. Louis winter; I'm glad I could spend one at Upshot's flagship cafe, and excited to see how their other locations compare.

The wait time was minimal as there weren't many customers at the time. After a few minutes my name was called and I was on my way. Up until this point, every wrap I've ever had was either thin like a taco or overstuffed like a burrito. This one was a perfect mix of the two; not too big or small but just the right size. I'm unsure how many eggs they used, but I certainly appreciated the thickness. The wrap itself was good but unfortunately, the only "flavor" I got came from the cheddar cheese as the seasoning was no where to be found. Aside from that, it def kept me full and was a solid choice for breakfast. I liked the coffee shop as well, as it felt cozy and welcoming. When the worker came out, she had a bunch of cookies in her hands that she then had to proceed to fold and put into a bag and then she started making the coffee of two people that were sitting at the counter while I was still just standing there. She did acknowledge me, which I appreciate, but at that point, I have been standing there for at least five minutes and I still hadn't ordered my coffee. I told her that I had to leave because I had to get to work and went to Starbucks instead, which I really didn't want to do. But this has been a pattern with this place- either they're not hiring enough staff, the staff that they have is overwhelmed or something is going on. I've been coming here for almost a year- and I definitely would prefer to patronize a local Shop, but not if it's gonna take five minutes to even just get my order taken when I am literally the only person in line. They did a beautiful job renovating an old fast food space, including a cozy seating area in the old atrium. Only change I would make would be to replace that harsh fluorescent panel lighting with something softer. Highly recommend!
