I know we expect pretty much the same thing from most Starbucks, but this one is bookmarked as my favorite one by far. There's a lot of seating with outlets by the wall if you like working from coffee shops, a standing table (which I always try to claim to do my work...), as well as outdoor seating when the weather's nice! The inside is spacious as well though so it never feels overly crowded. Also, there are food places nearby if you get hungry :) The thing that has most impressed me is the service, though. All the baristas are super friendly, my drinks have always come out well, and this is consistent across the 3-4 visits I've made here. This is one of my favorite Starbucks in south OC for sure. read more

Really impressed with the level of service n professionalism manifested. Came in for my regular cappuccino but stronger tis time. They said they can customize it. No extra charge. First, Woooooooow! I didn't know i can do that at Starbucks. But it turned out still not strong enough. So they made another one for me which came out to be even stronger. They called it dry long shot version. It was really really dark n strong. I asked a couple of questions about the drink n the employee was very friendly n knowledgeable. Woooooooow again.... Sorry to say that I ordered a Venti Pike from my Starbucks app and on the way to the location I was alerted that my order was ready. However, when I arrived it wasn't ready. I had ordered it with half and half and two Stevia, they added way two much half and half and forgot the Stevia. read more

I give this Starbucks location 100%! They are so welcoming and they know that I always ask for a stopper when I get here and when I got here to pick up my order, my drink had a stopper on it already! To people it may not mean anything but that was very much appreciated because they take care of their customers and know us by name! So huge shout out to Delilah who remembers I ask for a stopper! Would recommend making the 2 minute drive to a different location. This location overfills your drink with ice, even if you instruct them to make your drink light ice. Please be mindful of the instructions and chill out on the ice. The person managing the drinks at the pick up line was welcoming and friendly. Only complaint is not following the order. read more

Every time I come here I get horrible service. They seem to cater to the mobile orders more, so if you order in line, you have to wait forever. Today, I placed a mobile order but got held up and was there later than planned. My drink was there but my bread was not. I asked about it, but the snarky guy being the counter just said they were really backed up. I told him I ordered over 20 minutes ago, so I don't think they were that backed up. He didn't say anything else and just kept making drinks. Not helpful. I waited 5 more mi n uses and asked the woman heating up the food. She said she put it out a long time ago, so obviously, someone took my food. She was nice enough to quickly make me another one. The snarky guy could have been more helpful. read more

Since I've moved down here, I've been going to this Starbucks. Eric had been super and some how remember & always great me by my name; on the other hand Kim is rude.... she calls my name and gave me my order but when I got in my car I noticed that the sandwich wasn't mine, so I came back and told her she gave me the wrong bag and she looked at me and said "next time read the name before you grab it, ok?" Uuuhhhh wtf is with the attitude? then she went away while the drink she was making started overflowing on the counter; maybe if your head was at work you wouldn't make any mistakes & be so rude to costumers. Coffee is good but service is so poor. Unfriendly staff that appear to be having a perpetual bad day. Slow baristas who spend more time talking and milling around. No eye contact or acknowledgment of customers equally. There are apparent inequities in treatment of customers. It's a shame for the brand. read more

Most of the time they are closed. When they are open, they don't have any of the ingredients needed to make the drinks. I understand the pandemic has created some issues, but keeping the app updated with store hours shouldn't be that hard. This Starbucks has the KINDEST crew out of any Starbucks I've been to. Starbucks is at the bottom of my list when it comes to coffee, but every so often I'll stop in to get a water. Both times I've been in, I've been so impressed by their welcoming attitude and warmness towards me. This review has two parts, PLEASE be sure to read part two below. First: This location in the Gateway Center in Mission Viejo gets my vote as one of the very best in the entire chain. I'm a semi regular, which means sometimes I go often, and sometimes I'm away. But when I do slide on by, the atmosphere is always welcoming, and the Manager, always remembers me and my drink. Same for most of the cashiers and baristas. It's clean and every single employee is friendly and welcoming. I pass by other coffee houses and even other Starbucks to patronize this specific location. PART TWO: I feel bad for the customers who are having a bad day and throw this location under the bus because it takes 90 seconds to get their drink, or because a city or fire ordinance forced the removal of the fireplace. OMG! The store is busy because they are so popular and friendly. Watch the baristas. Sometimes three or four or five behind the counter hustling to get the orders out. And finally, If you act cool, you'll be treated nice wherever you go. But, if you spew harsh, don't be surprised if you get what you give. Doesn't matter how busy they are I walk in and it's like an episode from cheers, they're all saying "hi" or "good morning" "good afternoon" with my name immediately afterward. Just when I think Starbucks might be an OK place for coffee, it does something to disappoint me and we're back at square one. *shakes head* Lately, I've been feeling adventurous (don't get too excited) so I decided to get the Peppermint Mocha vs my usual zebra mocha or the passion iced tea. Like I've mentioned before even though I love desserts, there are just some things in life that I don't want to be overwhelmingly sweet and that would include drinks. So here's how it went and why I'm disappointed: Me: I'd like to try your peppermint mocha however I'm just wondering if it's too sweet. Barista: I don't know what you mean by sweet Me: Is it overwhelmingly sweet? Barista: I don't know. Me: Have you had it before? Does it have too much peppermint or is it balanced? Barista: I think it's just perfect. I'm just about ready to reach over and bitch slap him but I keep myself composed. Me: Like I said, I don't want it to be too sweet... Barista: Then get another drink *blank stare* Barista: I think it's perfect. The 4 pumps of peppermint and mocha balance out the flavors. You'll notice that it's not too sweet. Me: OK, that's what I was asking all along. I'll try it Was that too hard? Either way the drink was fabulous. It comes with chocolate shavings and it was probably 5,000 calories but who cares? Lesson learned, if there are 10 people waiting for their order, turn around and leave. At 10:20am, I ordered a chocolate croissant, an almond croissant, a reindeer cake pop and a double tall soy latte. Everything came out one at a time, starting with the chocolate croissant, followed by the latte. At 10:33, the cake pop came. I told the poor attendant that I had to leave in 2 minutes. At 10:35, I left the store still missing an almond croissant. And now to figure out if a refund is possible. read more

The Starbucks at target unfortunately made our order wrong and the subsequent remake wrong as well. My wife is very particular with her drink order so she was disappointed in having to settle for her drink she did not enjoy. This location was on the way home and I stopped by to ask if they could remake it. I knew it was an interesting request but the nice person working the register, Jojo was helpful and brought out (I'm assuming a mananger) named Kota. Since it was already afternoon, I wanted something decaf, so I asked if they roast their own decaf coffee. I completely agree with the previous reviewer regarding the loud mouth guy with the shaved head! I've never been so put off by a group of employees then the ones working at that Starbucks. My first experience was so-so to say the least, but I proceeded to give them another couple shots due to the convenience and proximity to my house. My first time coming in to this location was also my first time actually being awed by the worst service I've ever had. The really big guy with the shaved head proceeded to tell me about how awful his day had been before hitting on me. He even pulled a "you have the most beautiful eyes" card! When I went back in, hoping that I didn't have the same guy helping me, I was instead hit on by a tall, gangly fellow with surprisingly thick glasses. I've never felt so oogled as the times I've visited this place. Mind you, the outright way they were going about coming on to me was not only a turn off as far as dating, but also as a customer. Just because their is a drug problem in orange county doesn't mean the 28 year old.that is a father of three.who has been sober of alcohol for 5 years is a drug user just by the way he looks.maybe they should worry about talking about drug use or going for drink during their work hours.so for the two hours of sitting and just sitting.and hoping everyone of the Staff see this.and hope they will treat someone who is in need or is dealing with a drug problem just don't see them as a problem read more

Aesthetic, friendly, legendary. This is what Starbucks is all about. They know me by name, my drink is ALWAYS ready by the time I get to the register, and I gotta tell you, the drinks are awesome here. Yes, there are a lot of regulars that seem to gather at this particular location, but never ever have I ever been looked at with anything but smiles from anyone here (employees or customers). Any establishment that provides awesome service to the public will develop regulars. The fact that they hang out all day gives off this sort of "Cheers" vibe which is totally cool. My orders are ready quickly no matter when I place them using the mobile app. The inside of the store has numerous seating spaces. There are some tables outside one can also congregate with fellow gym goers and Pilates devotee. My problem with this store location is the actual drink quality itself. My drinks are either so overfilled to the point that once I stick the straw in, it turns into a fountain. One of the times that happened, the employees completely ignored me and kept talking about which line they really should be filling in the drinks to. No offers of napkins or anything to help clean up. Other times this happened, I ended up with a lid that busted open while en route to my car because the liquid got under the lid and the cup itself. That was a different kind of unnecessary mess. And it was entirely avoidable if the drink itself wasn't overfilled. The cups actually has a max fill line etched into it believe it or not. So if you fill in more or less past certain lines on the cups of anything, such as ice, milk, etc, the drinks won't taste right and/or it will create a mess. But the worst part? An unhappy customer with a coffee stained white linen pants and shirt. And that was me a few days ago. Anyway, the other half a dozen times I have ordered, the opposite happened as you can see in the picture. The drinks are nowhere near filled to the top fill line and the syrup never mixed all the way. So this causes the first 3-4 sips with intense flavors of the syrup and the rest of the drink as bland unflavored milk. So, as much as I appreciate the speed of order fulfillment and spacious interior seating inside and outside, I prefer to get my drinks elsewhere. And yes, that includes the god forsaken Starbucks down the street that's not any better drinks or service wise.

I think Peet's does tea and coffee very well. A friend of mine who is a connoisseur of all things good was with me. She ordered and enjoyed her holiday spice latte. It was also because they did not offer water on the app. Seeing as her drink was not done yet I tried to nonverbally indicate to a staff member that I needed attention but they seemed too busy, so I decided to wait at the pickup area for the drink. In doing so, a random customer tried to strike up vigorous conversation with me about my belongings, which startled me and made me even more mute than I wanted to be before I came inside. He effectively put words in my mouth by asking me if I understood English, but I couldn't do anything other than mutter quietly since this was not an interaction I was prepared for. After a short time the cashier finally asked me if I was waiting for something so I flashed the order on the phone to nonverbally dictate that I was waiting for an order. I finally calmed down enough to be able to verbally ask for water, and they said it was $0.25, so I didn't want that, so I decided to ask for an empty cup instead to go to the Grocery Outlet in the plaza to buy water, and they said "the cup itself is $0.25". I declined, seeing as that I knew how to origami a cup out of a piece of paper already. After this I went back to waiting, and during this, the customer that tried to strike up conversation with me said to his companion "he's faking it". The drink was prepared shortly afterwards, so I collected it and left to get away from him and not have to engage in further verbal interaction with anyone. As a result of this experience I have decided to avoid physically entering this branch and I will only use the drive thru when possible, as I do not want to encounter randos that force interaction on me or have to ask for something that is not available on the app and is not on the menu as a dictated upgrade. I would not recommend this location--or anywhere in Lake Forest for that matter-- for anyone introverted or with mutism from social anxiety, since randos talking to me for no good reason occurs too frequently in this area. I never get interacted with randomly in the Coffee Bean branch in Irvine and I would prefer an identical experience here.
