Inside- lots of seating (including tables with outlets)
    Vanessa G.

I know we expect pretty much the same thing from most Starbucks, but this one is bookmarked as my favorite one by far. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a lot of seating with outlets by the wall if you like working from coffee shops, a standing table (which I always try to claim to do my work...), as well as outdoor seating when the weather's nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is spacious as well though so it never feels overly crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, there are food places nearby if you get hungry :)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The thing that has most impressed me is the service, though. All the baristas are super friendly, my drinks have always come out well, and this is consistent across the 3-4 visits I've made here. This is one of my favorite Starbucks in south OC for sure.

    All ice. Skip this Starbucks.

Would recommend making the 2 minute drive to a different location. This location overfills your drink with ice, even if you instruct them to make your drink light ice. Please be mindful of the instructions and chill out on the ice. The person managing the drinks at the pick up line was welcoming and friendly. Only complaint is not following the order.

Store is always clean, it has a nice small neighborhood feel, where everyone kind of knows everyone. Food and coffee have always been great.

    Oh they removed the fireplace!
    Tony J.

During winter, and rainy nights the fireplace had a beautiful ambience. Why did they remove it. To make more seating! No they shouldn't have. The drinks are consistently good. But they lose two stars for the loss of the fireplace!

Your average every day Starbucks. They have all the delicious treats you can find at all the other branches. This is located on Alicia and Jeronimo in the city of Mission Viejo. You will find it in the corner of the Gateway strip mall. The inside has a nice seating area, and you'll also find some outdoor seating.

Got the star drink. They forgot to add Kiwi and it's not full.
    Hae A.

The worst starbucks I've been to. Tons of ice, drinks not full and things left out. Blah blah blah.

    Love the sign! Accurate.

Less than $12, very tasty but very messy to eat! Full of pesto, balsamic drizzle, fresh greens, fresh mozzarella and a generous portion of chicken on a big ciabatta roll cut in half. We also ordered a simple ham and cheese omelette, served with a side of their sliced baguette -- again assuming was fresh baked, because it was delicious. Simple dish, done right, which honestly says a lot about a kitchen. But the danishes stole the show. We grabbed a few to try, and the blueberry one was outstanding -- like, stopped-mid-conversation-to-comment-on-it good. Not overly sweet, good fruit-to-pastry ratio, perfect texture. Ariana helped us and was an absolute sweetheart -- even let us sample a pastry we were debating on before we committed. That kind of thing goes a long way, especially when you're trying to decide between six things that all look amazing in the case. Atmosphere was great too, comfortable spot to sit and eat instead of just grab-and-go. Will definitely be back to work through the rest of the pastry case. 10/10. The baristas make a point of getting to know their customers by offering more than just small talk. If you are regular customer they seem to just know your order and I have even heard them comment "we have missed you" when you haven't come in for a while. It truly feels like you are part of an extended family whenever you stop in. Three baristas that stand out for me, that I look forward to seeing each time I come in are: Anthony, Sami, and Sophia. Anyone who works there is wonderful, but these three have a special place in my heart! Their smile, their kindness and the goodness they put out into the world has left an impact on me. I'm an iced coffee girlie myself and have tried quite a few of their different options. I like their cold brew, iced Spanish Latte, and their June drink of the month was a Roasted Toasted Iced Coffee with a toasted Coconut cold foam. I made mine half sweet. Currently I'm into their ice latte with espresso and oat milk and a little brown sugar syrup, shaken, after a recommendation from Sami. It's been my go to drink for a few weeks now. That first sip is so satisfying. I highly recommend if you aren't sure what to get that you ask them. They know their coffee! There are plenty of places both inside and outside where you can slow down and enjoy your beverage and/or food item by yourself or with friends. They don't rush you off. Inside has cozy chairs, a couch, and various coffee tables. If you are eating there, they bring the food to you and typically grab your empty dishes later on. Their menu options are quite varied and should easily satisfy most groups of friends. Dogs are also welcome on the patio space outside. If you are looking for more than just a place to "grab coffee" then you need to come in and sit down and hang out at High Ground Coffee House! You will be happy you did.

When the employee asked what size I wanted, I repeated "tall" three times and even spelled it out, but there still seemed to be confusion. While I was paying by card, the employee walked away and returned in just a few seconds before I had finished the payment screen, which prevented me from completing the option to have my receipt sent to me. When I asked for my receipt, the interaction felt abrupt and unnecessarily reactive. At that point, I decided to skip it, waiting for my iced latte and then leave. I'm not sure whether the background music was too loud, the employee was having a difficult day, or there was simply a communication breakdown. Regardless of the reason, the overall customer service felt rushed and unwelcoming. In fact, there were not many customers in the shop at noon. I hope management provides additional training and support to help create a more positive customer experience.

I visited Japan late last year and it was the best travel experience of my life, so to have a little slice of it here in my little town of Laguna Niguel is so special. The barrels of beans waiting to be roasted in the front, the minimal menu, the pour-over style coffee for every cup, the chic industrious decor, super friendly service from every barista. Genuinely surprised I haven't left a review sooner. It's a small, quaint shop with a clean and mellow interior, relaxing jazz playing in the background, and aroma of freshly brewed coffee that always transports me back to Japan. Daisuke and his team greet everyone with such genuine warmth that you immediately feel welcomed. Their hospitality is unmatched, but what keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every drink is made with care, and they're always happy to take the time to explain the differences between their beans, recommend something based on your preferences, and answer any questions without ever making you feel rushed. You can tell they truly care about both their craft and their customers. I usually order the café au lait, and it's the only coffee shop where I'm confident in asking them to make it however they like. Every now and then I'll also pick up a bag of their beans to brew at home, and I highly recommend doing the same. They carefully help you choose from their wide variety, then grind the beans for you or sell them whole if you have your own grinder. Grinding fresh beans takes about 15-20 minutes, so if you're driving from farther away, I'd recommend calling ahead or placing an order through their website for pickup. The quality of the coffee speaks for itself, but what really sets this place apart is the experience. It's rare to find a coffee shop where both the product and the people are this consistently exceptional. Where most coffee shops tend to rush you out I think the difference here is that you genuinely feel welcomed. Wishing Daisuke and the entire team nothing but continued success. They deserve every bit of it. If you're looking for incredible coffee, authentic Japanese hospitality, and a place that genuinely cares about what they serve, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it.
