This Starbucks is in the most ideal location. Perfect for anyone driving 17 from Charleston National, Parkwest, Dunes West, etc locations. It even has a drive thru for those in a hurry. Or wait. for those in a hurry? YEAH RIGHT! It is the busiest Starbucks I've ever seen! The line always wraps around the building for the drive thru whenever I drive by between 7:30 am - 10 am. I will say, HOWEVER, the staff works very hard and the line seems to move pretty quick. They always are extremely friendly even when the line is outrageously long! Nice outdoor area to sit and enough your drink which is now smoke free. Parking is pretty crowded but I've parked across the street at Walmart and it's a quick walk. I give this Starbucks 4 stars just due to how busy it is. They can't really help that, though. In fact, that's great for starbucks! Everything else is just like a traditional Starbucks. PS - if you have the iphone APP for Starbucks it gives you a free birthday drink!! Any size/any kind. That was a huge plus! read more

I agree with many of the other reviews for this location. The staff is nice and the drinks are good... But the wait time is always terrible no matter what time of day it is. And the way the drive through is set up makes it hard to park and go inside. I went there yesterday and waited in the drive through line for about 10 minutes before I gave up. And this is because there were about 9 other cars ahead of me. I would have parked and walked inside but there were no spots open (small parking lot). But even getting out of the drive though line is a hassle navigating between the cars in line and the narrow parking lot. Yesterday's visit just reminded me of what a pain this location is. Too bad. Having a drive through Starbucks is awesome but not if it means waiting 20 minutes from the time you're in line to the time you get your drink. And this has happened to me at this location on many occasions... Not worth the trouble any more. read more

This is a nice Starbucks with friendly people and a drive through. However, this location is abysmally slow for previously placed orders. They have either run out of stickers or are taking 20 minutes per drink. I often walk in and find someone cleaning in the middle of the morning rush. I get cleanliness is important, but would I rather be able to eat off the floors of get my drink in a timely manner? The choice is obvious. They seem like they're trying to cultivate themselves into an independent coffee shop, but that makes no sense from a chain restaurant. read more

Yikes. The location of this Starbucks is its downfall. I love me a great cup of blonde roast and the occasional bakery treat, but it's not always worth the 15-30 minute drive thru wait required here. It's tucked in with an NTB location, creating what I can only describe as a labyrinth of cars pulling in, slowly backing out, and nearly missing each other in the parking lot all day long. If you like a good jump, worrying your car might be hit by the guy or girl pulling out while you're idling in the drive thru, then this is your Starbucks! I love a Starbucks...and this one was ok. The service is fine, not super friendly but not mean. Usually packed with people with working - it's a bit small so tables are cramped. Drinks and food orders take a normal amount of time. Clearly, I will keep going there as it is a Starbucks and right off 17. This is an awkward setup. It's basically attached to a tire shop and I can imagine it can be a cluster to get in and out of during rush hour times. There is a girl who works the drive through who should NOT be working at starbucks. My first interaction with her: she couldn't get my order correct and had a HUGE attitude... ok, I let it pass because it was the drive through. Then, as I get to the window (no one inside, I'm at the window to pick up), my drink is made, left unattended, no one in site. Finally brown haired drive through girl slooooowly walks over to my drink, stops to talk to a coworker, walks over slowly to get a sleeve, takes her time putting it on, goes over to the computer, slowly types things in, opens up window to scan my phone (is incompetent at that too)... Finally, the phone was scanned, and I got my coffee... I was not happy, but didn't say anything. Second visit with "girl". The ordering process, a lot better, but as I pulled up to the drive through, she noticed me being annoyed the day before and decided to again be super slow at getting my coffee. It actually sat on the counter for a minute before she picked it up. She was standing in view of me and talking to her coworker again... I was in scrubs, so she probably had an inkling that I was on my way to work and didn't have 10 minutes to waste (yes! it took me about 8 or so minutes to get a simple latte with no one else waiting). I decided to take high road, and I even said thank you when she handed me my coffee. Visit 3: The "girl" isn't working. There is a line, but I order, drive through to get my coffee, and am out of the line in less than 3 minutes. Good job SB... I may give you 3 instead of 1 star. Visit 4: The "girl" is back.... oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. This time, I have an extra 30 minutes to spare before work (In case Chuck is flooded). It's rainy outside, no customers in line... Order placed: problem... she seriously is the only one who doesn't understand: grande latte, no foam, 2 raw sugars. She asked, "2 pumps of what". I said not pumps of anything. Then she said, "You don't want any flavoring to it?" I said, I just want 2 raw sugars. She said, "oh ok, that's what you said". .. duh... but I still didn't give attitude (high road, want coffee quick and easy). I pull up to the window... damn psycho recognizes me and decides yet again to take her sweet @ss time.... She slowly gets the coffee, mentions something about me to her coworker, whom I see eyeing me and trying to be sneaky about it, but lets be honest, I SEE YOU! Then she proceeds to the cash register where I swear she was writing a book. After about 60 seconds of her typing and 3 minutes of her "getting my coffee and acting like she is busy ringing me up", I finally get my coffee. Guess what? the "no foam latte" was super foamy... Thanks! I also finally decide to write this review because... well 3 strikes and you are out. It's been so bad that This review will go to starbucks... This is one of the busiest Starbucks in the Charleston area, but their customer service skills are still top-notch. They are so friendly to me when I come in, even when they're working at whirlwind speed to get orders out. One young lady, Scarlett, is simply superb and very kind. They do have a small store with tricky parking and drive through, but that cannot be helped, as they share the building with a tire store. People shouldn't give them fewer stars because of a problem beyond their control, such as sharing building space or location. Personally, I like the smaller, cozier space, and there are tables outside for great weather days. This is the only Starbucks I ever visit. read more

This is my "Home" Starbucks, and I've been a customer for a little over two years now. The Good (Great): consistently fantastic, often humorous, service from the baristas. They always take a few moments to say hello or a brief comment on the day. The Bad: the drive-thru can get congested and the cafe itself has limited space. Have patience though. I go to Starbucks for one thing, green tea soy latte. I love it SO much. I began questioning all Starbucks when laws were passed requiring chain food/drink places to provide nutritional information. It's a little scary! Their low fat, no fat, reduced fat, healthy sounding options are..... not so healthy. Now I love my occasional splurges, but frequent Starbucks...? Nah. For example, one oatmeal cookie, 220 calories BUT 25% DV of saturated fat. "Reduced" fat berry coffee cake, also 25% sat fat. A non fat strawberry smoothie, 290 calories. Wow. Walked in. Only person in line and it took the 6 ppl behind rhe counter 4 minutes to acknowledge I was there let alone try to help I understand being busy. Everyone was only interested in drive-thru. I only ordered a bold venti coffee and they could not tell me with certainty and did not have marked what the Bold was so I ordered the mystery bold. I went to put cream in my coffee and at the messy server station there were no napkins available it was all empty. This Starbucks is worse than any in bookstore or in grocery store Starbucks I have visited. Sad. Wish there were a more decent efficient and friendly Starbucks in this area. Horrible service by Alyssa. Ordered my drink on the app- iced coffee w a splash of cream and 3 packets of honey. Thought it would be right. Nope. It looked like milk with a splash of coffee. I really enjoyed this restaurant. I stopped in while passing through the Charleston area, in need of some good tea and a good place to drink it - and that's just what I found here, to my delight. The barista was friendly, and my order came out quickly and correctly, and with that, I proceeded to the wonderfully sunny little patio, to be kept company with my drink and a good read and my fellow Starbucks'ers. There, I whiled away a long hour, just enjoying the simple pleasures of my book and watching the world go by - a priceless experience, one that I treasure, for all its "smallness." I frequent this Starbucks everyday! In the past several weeks I have noticed a decline in the quality of the coffee served! It is old, bitter, not hot! I request half and half and milk is used instead. I have tried several different varieties-lattes, iced coffees, etc, and it is the same! The prep is off, maybe a lot of new staff? It is sad to spend money on a product that you love to find it of poor quality and end up throwing it out. I am so disappointed! My family and I were just at this Starbucks this morning, looking to get our usual coffees en route to returning home from our Labor Day getaway. With that being said, this Starbucks was such a dreadful experience. The layout for the drive-thru is atrocious, and to make things worse we had an untrained employee taking our order--apparently without any supervision--to ensure order accuracy. So, then we were presented with our coffees being completely wrong, and it appeared that no one in the building knew how to make the coffee. Meanwhile, my wife and I are being serenaded with meaningless conversation for roughly 15 minutes. Maybe we were just being ill without our coffee, yet we could have seriously done without the conversation and he should have just focused more on helping the other five employees know how to make a coffee. I would highly recommend going to the other Starbucks in the area! read more

I went in this morning and a lady greeted me at the register. I ordered an iced white tea. I made it very clear that I have a horrible dairy and soy allergy and asked her to have the barista avoid both at all cost. She said that was not a problem. I walked over to the pickup counter. They barista (a young man) rinsed out multiple dairy and soy cups and then rinsed out the tea mixer. When he put my cup of tea up at the counter and called my name I was surprised to say the least. Appalled actually. Starbucks is known for having such high standards and any other location I've ever been to has never allowed this. So I politely told him to take it back and I'd just get a refund. With absolutely no apology or offer of a solution (as simple as just pouring tea into my personal cup and mixing it in there), I walked back down to the cashier. I waited for a few minutes until someone rudely told the cashier to help me. She seemed confused as to what the problem was, which simply was cross contamination! This could put me or anyone else with serious allergies in the hospital! Still no apology, offer of a solution or even speaking to a manager, but they did give me a refund and I left after about 10-15 minutes withOUT my tea. This is absolutely unacceptable. Thank God I went into the store to see this versus going through the drive-thru and ending up in the hospital. read more
