I made a pit stop here on my way home from VA Beach to fulfill my espresso craving. No pit stop is complete without gas and coffee. The baristas were friendly and I was able to place my order with ease. No issues here, just the wait to get my drink was rather elongated. There were a few folks who came in after me, walk ins, that got their drinks before mine. Outside of that, all was well. Location was clean and inviting. Plenty of table space to work or connect with friends and such. read more

Drive-thru is fast and friendly. I can't speak to how the inside space is but it is a cool looking building, albeit maybe a tad small. The only downside is exiting the drive-thru you are faced with an impossible right turn, hampered by the cars parked where you'd need to swing out to turn. Full disclosure it was busy. However I ordered a simple latte and iced coffee. The latte came out within 5 minutes, after 25 minutes the iced coffee was still not done. When I tried to check in on it the barista working the counter wouldn't give me an update although I saw multiple people receive the same order as me who arrived after me. I'm almost sure they lost the order but because I couldn't check in on it there was nothing I could do. Luckily I was able to refund the drink they didn't make. I do not recommend this Starbucks during even slightly busy hours. read more

Short and sweet is usually not my style but here we go. Clean inside and out with a great on and off situation on the highway. Service superb! When you forget your billfold and money you don't expect much unless they take Apple Pay. They do not yet, only Starbucks app. However, the staff here offered what I want gratis. I took them up on a cookie for my son and was so grateful. I was blown away when she even warm it up. She even offered drinks too, but I did not push their generosity. Did I have a loyal Starbucks sign written across my forehead? At least the pain of having to return home from forgetting what you never want to forget in your life was more tolerable waiting in a Starbucks. Come see these nice people and enjoy. read more

Awesome in store decorations for the holiday. They have plenty tables for seating and a nice wall of floor to ceiling windows for natural light. They also have a box in store to collect donations such as soap and detergents for those in need. I had a few people ahead of me but the line moved quickly! read more

This Starbucks is located in the Kiln Creek Shopping Center, back behind the Circle K. It doesn't have a whole lot of parking or a drive thru, which can be tricky if you're just trying to get in and out quickly. They do have a pretty decent sized patio area though which is nice if you want to sit outside and enjoy your drink. I placed an order on the mobile app to pick up here, and by the time I arrived, it still wasn't completed. Took a few more minutes for them to get it done (it was just a hot tea...not sure why it took so long) and then I was on my way. Staff seemed friendly but distracted on this visit. Overall, it's a Starbucks -- not the best one in town by far (that goes to the Warwick one across from CNU's campus -- they are by far and away the best run one in Newport News from what I can tell) but it's better than other locations (like the one on Jefferson). read more

Quality has changed. Obviously using cheaper ingredients to make the blueberry muffins not to mention they keep getting smaller. No longer topped with real big grains of sugar ,no longer fluffy in texture. Even frappe strawberry shake without sauce precoated in cup. Very disappointing read more

I stop in this Starbucks at least twice a week and either order by mobile or in person. I started to order by mobile due to the staff staring me down like an alien and not greeting me like they do everyone else. Although I am in uniform (law enforcement) and they may not like police, I am still a customer and a human being. I spend lots of money at this location and it's sad that I can't get the same treatment as everyone else. I started to order by mobile so that I wouldn't get the unfriendly stares and hesistation to serve me like I get by going in line to order. But, When I go to pick up my mobile order, the staff still looks me right in my face and I say good morning and I get no response. It's completely rude and that's not how I treat people, so I expect to be treated fairly. Obviously, I won't be going back to thIs location. There are a couple other locations in the York County area that treat me and my coworkers with the same respect as everyone else. read more

Hay. It's Starbucks. The coffee is consistently good, they have decent-to-very good breakfast roll-y stuff, the service is generally very good and cleanliness is phenomenal. This store is convenient to the Hilton Garden Inn Newport News, where I stay sometimes. The lines here aren't crazy long like some stores; seems like they move people through faster than many of these franchises. And Starbuck's supports some of my favorite causes (thanks, y'all). But it's still a chain. Some people find comfort in getting the same thing everywhere they go, and Starbuck's does a great job of delivering consistently good sameness. To me, that's disturbing. I like the appliance-like driving experience and boring-osity of never seeing the inside of a repair shop in my Toyota. When it comes to coffee, I like a high quality brew - but don't like to have the same three coffees every time. Once in a while I like to have a sweet roll that is really spectacular, even though it gets powdered sugar on my tie. And once in a while, I like to try a coffee that, while it's brewed to perfection, it's a variety that I find I don't like. How will I know I don't like it if I don't have the opportunity to try it? When you leave the store, don't turn left onto the street - you won't be able to turn left onto the main road. Instead, go out the exit closest to the Hampton Inn, drive straight (don't turn) and turn left on the first street you come to. There's a traffic signal that makes it easy to turn and get back to Victory. Go there. These guys do a good job, and you'll like your coffee. read more

Dealt with two of the rudest baristas possible. It started right at the greeting, and didn't end even as I was leaving the building. I got two drinks, the girl rudely slung the first one at me and said "have a nice day." although she knew I got a second drink....so I politely said "I have a second one." The girl that took my order was very rude started with "what do you want?", went on to asking me very rudely "what kind of creamer do you want? you know milk, soy, skim...." it was a nightmare, and definitely not a good way to start my day. Giving two stars because I understand it could have been a bad day, but I will be going across the street to Kroger instead to avoid those two ladies. read more

This Starbucks near/at kiln creek was the worst service and experience yet. I place an order and the barista Dakota decided to service an off duty employee, who ordered after me..... first. That same off duty employee took it upon himself to left up the coffee bean container to see if the bean were low. No hand washing involved. unsatisfactory. No apologies for my wait. And the drink was disgusting, coffee bean were burnt. After such poor service, I just left. 7 dollars wasted!!! read more

This was my first time visiting this location due to the fact that it's kinda tucked away. The manager was there as well as another barista and they were two of the friendliest people you'll meet! They genuinely made you feel welcome and that you were appreciated as a customer. I ordered my mom and I peppermint white chocolate mochas and they were very well made and delicious! I'm usually not a sweet coffee person but I was a fan of this! They have outdoor seating and it's pretty spacious and clean inside. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is my go-to starbucks and despite sometimes being slow I like it. They always get the order right and always serve it with a smile. Don't go to this Starbucks if you're in a rush. The woman that's usually there will strike up a five minute long conversation with the customer in front of you while offering samples of every drink on their menu, which adds another two minutes. After standing in line for a good couple of minutes while the woman was chatting with no end in sight, and another employee walked past the register twice, I started to walk away. Chatty Kathy THEN noticed that I was there and asked the other employee that just ignored me to ring me up. I feel like a majority of the people that are in line for coffee in the morning have some place to be. These employees don't care. read more

The Kiln Creek Starbucks has been my primary store since they opened their doors. They have consistently served beverages of quality since first walked in the door. Starbucks as a whole builds it's reputation on consistency so this is not surprising, but after being in many Starbucks around the country and world this one always wins in my book. This Starbucks on the Peninsula was fantastic. It was conveniently located near I-64. I stopped by here before lunch traffic hit. The barista was super nice, friendly and prompt with my order. The inside and parking lot were well-kept. I'll have to check out the restroom during my travels next time lol. read more
