I was in town visiting my mother and we decided to get something to drink. Upon arrival the workers did not smile once though they seemed overwhelmed which was fair enough. Ordering went smoothly and I ordered a venti ultra caramel frap. I overheard the worker making my drink tell his coworker that he can't find anymore cold brew whip creams. The coworker just tells him to use normal whip cream because they ran out. Back ups of the whips should have been prepared beforehand and if they ran out someone on CS should have dedicated time to make more. They should have at least told me they ran out and asked if using the normal whip cream was okay but instead there was zero customer interaction throughout the whole process. read more

I repeated my order of "coffee" 3 times to the guy at the register. It came to me cold. They were all majorly distracted behind the counter. It appeared that there are 5 active employees behind the counter and 3 others socializing on the side. They are barely waiting on anyone while they sit around and loudly discuss their personal lives. I feel extra crabby because I am trying to cram for a test that's located in a center nearby and I had to move my seat twice to get away from their noise. It's a coffee shop. I just do not understand how they could build this Starbucks on the end of this building, but not have a drive thru. It should have been put on the other side...lol. I am not lazy, so I walked on in a few days ago. Been to this location a few times and always found it to be consistent- MUCH BETTER THAN THE HELL HOLE THAT IS THE HAMDEN LOCATION (see review) . Staff is very friendly, but service can be on the slower side more often than not. I blame this on management not staffing properly, not the employees themselves. This location is just too busy to have one person making drinks during peak hours; waiting ten+ minutes in line, then waiting five+ more minutes for a black iced coffee is insane. I shouldn't have to set aside thirty minutes to grab an iced coffee in the morning. Unfortunately afternoons are no better because this is the coffee shop of choice for the Real Housewives of North Haven. Listen, I get it, you can't tie your kids down to the chair, nor do I expect you to. However, there's no need for ten stay at home mom's to congregate here with their fifteen toddlers that run around like it's Chuck E Cheese. Starbucks isn't a daycare, there are plenty of places you and your friends can coffee clutch that are appropriate for children to be running around. Starbucks isn't one of them, because when I trip over your three year old and spill hot coffee all over them, I don't wanna hear about it. Letting your children run around unattended in a place that almost exclusively sells scorching hot beverages is parenting done wrong. Anyway, TL/DR, it's a typical Starbucks location, slightly slower than average but it's the only Starbucks in the area so it'll do. I've been here a few times but I've had 3 back to back not so great experiences. I was here last week and I ordered 2 drinks and a wrap. It took a long time to order, 10 min or so and when I finally got to the register the girl was confused. To be fair, she could have been training but I'm not sure. There were only two people on and one of them seemed to know what she was doing but was very curt and not nice. I waited for 10 min and I didn't have one of my drinks or wrap, so I asked about it and the girl didn't respond. 2 min later my drink order is up. I figured she was busy, so I waited for my wrap, I waited another 5 min and asked again, she didn't respond, she just walked away. When she came back I asked again and she told me I put it in. There was no I'm sorry, or anything like that. I eventually got my stuff. I went back today and again they were understaffed. They weren't unkind but It took about 20 min to get my drink and there were only two people in front of me. I also asked for water twice and they never gave it to me. If you're going to go here I would recommend mobile ordering and don't expect much in the way of customer service. read more

ThIs Starbucks sucks. Excuse my language, but from the staff attitude to the cleanliness of the facility, all way below the already low bar that Starbucks sets for quality standards. This is one of the original area Starbucks, so I have visited many times, as recently as yesterday. It is right off 91, exit 12 so great for trips south. Easy off and on again. Tis is one of the Starbucks to avoid in the morning for that reason. Commuters jam this one pretty hard until about 9:00 am. After that the usual losers who sit and spend there day surfing the free wifi. Staff attitude. Ok, we all know that Starbucks trains their staff extensively on behavior and pacing. This may be ok in NYC, but we are talking dingy north haven here. Here it just makes the staff look arrogant and foolish. Really, in the middle of the backwoods, you want your staff to have this attitude? It turns me off to witness people who are basically morons behaving this way. Now lets talk quality. There are three coffee shops within a two minutes drive from here with exceptionally better service and quality of product. Tis is definitely an example of location, location, location, being the reason they are still in business at this location. This is just a standard Starbucks. It is the only easy on and off location accessible from 91 on my old commute to work. Unfortunately, I just moved to Chester so now I commute via 95. Just as they were starting to get me down as a regular and have my drink made perfectly. It did take a while for this to happen. Much longer than my other favorite Starbucks in Storrs. Some days they are pretty quick, but some days they are a little slow. The staff are nice enough, but no one has really stuck out to me as awesome. read more

Incredibly slow... I can never get a quick drink at this place. When there are a lot of customers, the line is super long. If there is no one there, the line will become long. They take a while to make your drinks and the drinks aren't up to par to other starbucks. My Macchiato's are very watered down. When I order other coffee or fraps, they don't fill it to the brim. When I ordered a frap for my friend, there was a half an inch gap, so they filled the rest with whipped cream. If you are looking for a place to study, forget about it. I had 4 back to back bad experiences at this location. All of these were due to error in preparing the drink. Due to the fact that I am paying $5.69 per coffee I ALWAYS get it corrected. I do not understand how the errors continue. There are a few baristas who seem like they would rather be anywhere else and do not care to make the order correctly. I feel bad for the baristas who are doing a good job there. Also, this has caused me to refrain from tipping until after my coffee is prepared. This Starbucks is consistently understaffed every morning during rush hour. It used to run smoothly but they have been very slow and chaotic in the last 6 months. Incorrect orders are frequent and staff don't rectify (or apologize) when this happens. Obviously, this isn't a big deal in the scheme of things. I'm going to find another place to drop my dough after I was told it was my fault someone else took my breakfast (I was standing there and nothing came out). Awful. Came in around 1015 this morning for two drinks. There were 3 baristas working on the floor and the line grew behind me. A fourth barista came out from the back room (maybe he was on break?) and started tidying up behind the counter rather than help with the line of customers or drinks. Maybe the tidying up could have waited until the lines died down. The pastry case and drink case were also sparse. this is the worst starbucks Location I have ever been to, and I go to a lot of Starbucks. Everyday I order 5 shots over ice in a venti cup with extra ice. Not only do i have to ask for ice first every single time even tho managers have assured me before this is standard procedure, but i get scoffed at for doing so, and they still dont do it sometimes after i ask. I once ordered eleven shots over ice using a reward and was literally made fun of by three of the workers for doing so. The baristas are stuck up and arrogant young ppl that try to joke with me instead of just getting my drink correct. Let me reiterate that I come to this starbucks almost every single day, same drink, for three years. Recently I have realized that if i go to any other starbucks my drink is made properly with no fuss and actually fills my venti cup. But when i order at north haven i could recieve anywheres from a quarter of my cup filled with espresso; and an entire cup of ice, to half a cup, to two thirds....i dont understand why anywhere else on the planet the drink looks one way but when made here its not the same. I feel as if they are almost doing it purposly cuz they are sick of me wanting the drink that no other starbucks seems to have a problem making. Im done with this location id rather drive twently minutes to branford to get a proper drink than deal with this sad excuse of a location in north haven. Earlier today me and some friends went. I got the s'mores frap which on a side note was amazing. But as we are leaving we all get ice water which is FREE. The guy tells me I had to buy something first, which I know for a fact that is not true. But I already bought something and this was the guy that took our order. So I tell him I did and he gets the cups for all of us. Then, this is what really makes me mad, "this is it, nothing else after this" then he gives me a dirty look. First of all, you are supose to have a positive attitude if you work at a resuraunt or a store. It is a rule for all employees. Second, I am a customer. If I"m paying, what do you care? That means that if I were to order something else, he would have refused to take my order. Anyways, after this me and my friends just left. Quite possibly one of the worst Starbucks experiences I've had. Part of this has nothing to do with the staff, but part of it does. As other reviewers have said, they are so, so slow. The line was almost to the door and people were clueless as to what to do or where to pick up their drinks. But, this is NOT the Starbucks to go to relax. Try to get work done? No way. Evidently this is a hang out for families to kill time, to blast Adele out of their iPads, and to have a sing-a-long. People were annoyed, and began leaving, and the baristas acted as if they had nothing to do. La-de-dah. I get it that my experience was worsened because I was attempting to have a relaxing afternoon and that you can't control the guests, but come on people, don't come to Starbucks and hang out for hours with your kids. Go to a museum or a louder restaurant. And to the baristas, pay attention to your store. You're losing customers as we speak because this is not a relaxing environment. read more
