stopped in while i was in the area, i normally don't go to starbucks but i needed something quick and it was quite early. the workers are so sweet and made me feel welcomed. the man who made my drink (didn't catch his name but he had the most beautiful curly hair i had ever seen, so shout out to him!) was very thoughtful and drew a lovely picture on my cup! i understand that starbucks is not the best place to work for but the fact that the employees are still able to work with a smile on their face is heartwarming. great location, great job! read more

Over the past decade or so of my life I've stopped at this Starbucks a handful of times. I've worked, met friends, and gone through the drive thru but never spent a long time inside. That changed when my daughter attended a summer camp at the nearby Little Gym and I needed a place to get a few hours of work done. I do think that Starbucks is best used as a workplace, or a grab and go coffee shop, and I think many folks agree with me as when I walked in it was filled with other remote workers getting some much needed heads down quiet time with a cup of coffee. What made me realize I'd never left a Yelp review here before was that it had been 100% remodeled since my last visit and I lowkey liked the new interior. It had faux leather seats, nice ambient lighting, and it was cozy and quiet in the best ways for working from a coffee shop. I don't love that Starbucks will only give you their weird cheap iced coffee instead of cold brew as a free refill, but I survived, and this visit served its purpose. I was also pleasantly surprised with clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. Overall, a slightly above average Starbucks in PV that's not a bad stop if you're in need for a place to park yourself for an hour or so. read more

We stopped into this location while in the area to have a latte. The seating is kind of cramped in this store. The booth backs are backed up to one another in the middle so that your head is almost touching the person's behind you if you lean back. The store needs to be cleaned and the barista didn't know what she was doing that took the order. I told her the two beverages I ordered must have been rang in wrong because the total was $4 higher than normal. The drinks were fine but we would not visit this location again. read more

We recently went through the drive through for drinks that were made wrong. We didn't realize this until they were handed to us. The clerk agreed to remake them but absolutely refused to take back the incorrect ones because "we aren't allowed to take trash from customers." No amount of pointing out this was their trash and their mistake would change his mind, even though we had nowhere to put them in our car. We drove around to the other side, where I walked in to Starbucks and threw them away. Very irritating and didn't seem to have any logic to it at all. read more

Went through the drive through that was good, I got a strawberry refresher and asked for light Ice and when I got it, it tasted like straight water. Barley any strawberries and look and tasted like nothing I usually have. I went back to get a remake but I was met with harsh words. The man who helped me ( man with glasses) was very rude and rolls his eyes at me then gave me a lesson on how they are made. When I never asked for a lesson I just simply said it doesn't taste well and I would like it remade. In the past, I come here frequently to study or work on my laptop because of the comfy booths. It is usually really busy and packed with people, you usually have to be competitive when it comes to finding a good seat at the booths. The staff is nice at first, but usually gets my order wrong even though I repeat and clarify the way I want my drink made since I'm paying $5 for it. I usually order a Venti Very Berry Hibiscus with no water and light ice. I always tell them to have it shaken now because in the past, I seen some workers who do not shake it and made the drink directly into the cup, which is not the correct way to make it, it should be mixed. Also, they do not have the best customer service because when I asked them nicely to re-make it the way I ordered the drink, they either look annoyed or do not talk to you at all which is terrible. I did not rudely tell them that my order was wrong, so they should not act that way towards people. My friend who was studying with me got a Grande Peach White Tea, but they didn't put in the classic syrup, which made it taste gross. She has the Starbucks Rewards of getting free iced tea refills, but was too shy to get a different tea, so I went up to tell them to make it with a different tea called Passion Tango Tea which was sweeten, but didn't seem like it had any water mixed with it, so it made the tea tasted strong and tart. The weather that day was nice, so we decided to move outside for 30 mins before we left. The tables were filled with pollen so I asked a worker if they have something to clean the tables with. She was super nice to help us and also cleaned the other tables so other people could sit outside. I wish I had remembered her name to recognize her for a great job. Overall, I hope management at this location can train their partners/employees better so they can improve on their customer service skills and learn to listen to the customers' orders to make their drink the right way the first time. read more

I was meeting my friend here to study, and it's so neat that they have a row of comfy padded seats! Note: the bar area by the bathroom is NOT a good seating area, it is smelly and loud. The workers are very amicable, but they messed up with both of our orders the first time around. I ordered the Peach White tea and got a free refill of PassionTango tea and Strawberry Green tea (one of the perks of being a Gold!). They forgot to sweeten the Peach White tea, and the PassionTango tea was too tart, but the lady who made my Strawberry Green tea made it well! Because the weather was so nice, we decided to move outside. The seats were full of pollen, but I really appreciated that a wonderful worker came out and wiped down the table and chairs for us and the other people! read more

This spot has worked it's way into the rotation on the way home from dropping my little one at daycare, and unfortunately it just hasn't hit the mark. I've been three times in the past few weeks and ended up with the wrong drink twice! Definitely a shock to the system to take a sip hoping for black coffee and ending up with a sugary mess of flavors instead. Oh and kids, get off my lawn while we're at it! // End old man rant. The folks are friendly here, but the drive thru moves slower than any other I've been to. There's also the anxiety inducing fact that cars come from multiple ways into the drive thru making it an unnecessary and slow suburban game of "claim your spot in line" by always inching forwards until you're bumper to bumper with the car in front of you. These poor baristas put up with me at least 3x a week. I'm the typical Starbucks snob, in that my order is VERY detailed - iced doppio espresso with heavy cream and 2 pumps of sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup. Every time I order this, I cringe and wait for the questions but surprisingly they nail it every time! The drive-thru line always moves quickly which is key at 6:30AM when you're on your way to work. I have never once received my order here and thought "not exactly how that should taste". These baristas know their stuff and they are so incredibly friendly. Such a lovely experience. The staff was so very kind and patient as I asked questions about my Gold Rewards Card. I'm glad I used it too- I only had to pay for my friend's coffee & I got my iced tea free. The building is really slick and cool looking. It's weird how in the drive-thru though, that you drive around the whole building, including the Chipotle. Too bad it's not like one of those KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut drive thru hybrids- I would've enjoyed some tacos with my iced tea! read more

We are moving, so I had to order coffee and breakfast this morning at 6am via the app. I chose to pick up via drive through. I pulled up to the order intercom and waited and waited with no response. I then proceeded to the drive up window where an older blonde women became passive aggressive and would not acknowledge me at the window. After several minutes, she finally acknowledged me and I let her know I had a preorder waiting for me. She scolded me like a toddler, letting me know that I had not followed protocol and need to announce my arrival at the intercom. I tried to politely let her know that no one responded and she proceeded to scold me again. On top of that, my latte tasted like cardboard and my food was cold. Very disappointing. read more

This has to be the most inefficiently run Starbucks. I count 12 cars in the drive through and decide to park and go inside. It has to be faster! I walk in and immediately place my order...two coffee Frappuccinos. There are five of us waiting for our orders. Unbelievable. The number 12 car in drive through is served before I get my order. Six associates and all but one appears to be taking care of drive through. The least experience and slow associate is preparing orders for customers inside. I will not be back. I'm inclined to review this Starbucks since I visit this one so often, as it's the nearest one to my house. I'm here so much, I should just work here. Just kidding. I would never put up with Starbucks customers! Some Starbuckses (is that how your pluralize 'Starbucks'?) feature a very annoying staff who speak extremely loudly at each other across the restaurant. That isn't the case at this location. The staff isn't boring and they seem to jive well, but they aren't obnoxious. They handle rushes very well and seem to be very efficient. Sunday mornings here before and after church are extremely busy, as there are a few churches nearby, and the members partake in this location. I was here around 8:45am on a Sunday and they were slammed. So if you aren't a churchgoer but need Starbucks Sunday mornings, I recommend visiting a little after 9:00, you heathen. The downfall to this location is the pesky children who treat it like a playground at recess. Even high schoolers. I must be getting old because high schoolers really annoy me now. Granted, high schoolers also annoyed me in high school. But there's at least one school nearby so if you're here around the time school lets out, you're treated to kids running in and out the doors, loitering, and congregating in the very loud fashion that kids tend to do. It's not conducive for concentration (studying, job hunting, etc.). Summer doesn't help alleviate this issue because there's still plenty of them around, completely taking over the place. This location is also in the Prairie Village Shopping Center, so you'll feel some slightly pretentious gatherings here, on occasion. I hate to knock it down for reasons that are beyond the staff's control, but I'm rating the general experience. And it's not like Starbucks is going to be affected by one random dude's complaining. read more

Who knew that the PV Starbucks would be the place to people watch? This is almost as good as the Miami airport. Soccer mom's still rockings with a kids on their hip, men in ill fitting business suits, cougars in sequin clubbing tops......I was behind this "girl", who I thought was a cheerleader, she turned around and had an old lady face! She was actually in a tennis outfit in 30 degree weather. Another old lady walks in with a bad dye job and sex hair. Her shirt buttons were all askew. I can't believe I'm the first person to review a Starbucks in the middle of JoCo but guess I'll do it anyway. I stop at this one fairly often before going to work in Prairie Village and even though its always pretty early when I'm there, the service is never anything but friendly and fast. They always get my foo-foo drinks right (I hate coffee). ha. On weekend mornings, the parking lot is full of the obligatory big SUVs and the inside is always full of soccer moms and dads. I go to Starbucks frequently and every time I order the iced Carmel mochiato upside down. All in all this Starbucks is excellent. Without a doubt it is the most aesthetically pleasing one that I have been to in KC. The combination of a great selection of seating both indoor and outdoor, ideality for studying/working, well-made drinks, late hours, and pretty location make this Starbucks worth your time. Deterring me from giving this location a perfect five star is a strange interaction with a barista here that is not worth going into detail but other than that, it is certainly nothing that would make me not want to visit here again. read more

I know that Starbucks is a soulless chain coffee shop, and I'll admit that I don't even like their coffee that much (I'll order a venti chai latte, thank you), but sometimes a person needs a little mid afternoon pick-me-up on the way home from picking up the children for preschool (let's make that a dirty chai with one shot of espresso, please). And the fact that this Starbucks features a drive thru option..., well, it's a dangerously tempting way to treat myself to a delicious perk that can only be found in a cup of something caffeinated. Now, we could discuss the reality that this is a high calorie treat or that one could save a lot of money by making his or her own coffee at home, but Starbucks is a treat. And really, even a $5 dirty chai is better than a lot of other options for a stimulus to "get through the rest of the day", so I'm going to say that this is not the worst habit in the world. Now, here is where this review REALLY turns into dangerous enabling: with the Starbucks reward program, you can pay with gift cards from your mobile phone (so you will barely feel like you are spending real money at all!). Due to recent security problems that this app has encountered in months past, I do not advise reloading the card with your credit card on the app itself. I purchase gift cards from the grocery store and load them onto the phone myself so that there is no record of my credit card on the app (I am sure that new measures have been taken to better protect the security of the app, but I am always a bit nervous and overly cautious). The rewards program is free and offers good incentives, including the ability to earn free refills and even free beverages on occasions! (There is no reason not to do this!) So, there is my Starbucks addition. The Prairie Village location is my closest location, plus it has a drive thru. The service is efficient and the quality is standard to all Starbucks coffee shops. read more
