    Cool trivia
    Jen H.

Great little franchise. I lived in MN for a few years and Caribou brings back great memories as it was my stop almost every morning. Still great strong black coffee. Their cold brew is full bodied as well and smooth. We just went through the drive-thru but the service was outstanding. They have a trivia question daily and if you get it right you get 10 cents off. So fun and just makes you smile. If I recall they have always done this.

This was my first time crossing the threshold of Caribou and it was quite delightful. This particular location is very spacious and you would never know that it's attached to a gas station. ~ There is a cozy fireplace, tons of windows to let in the natural light and enough space between the seating to make your conversation yours alone. I frequent Starbucks and that has always been a negative aspect for me; how close the seating is to others. ~ Although this location is quite new, less than a year I believe, it's in great shape. ~ The staff was oh so sweet and helpful. They answered all my questions about their menu and had the coffee out to me in a flash. ~ The "daily question" chalkboard was entertaining. It seems that they just write a question on a huge chalkboard and guests and answer. Clever! ~ Clean! So.. I really don't have any negative comments. I would visit again.. especially from 4-7pm for happy hour; buy one get one free. And.. if you're a guest, free drip refills during your visit.

The dining area was nice, spacious and comfortable with a fireplace and patio, while the service was friendly and fast. I also noticed the drive thru was moving quickly. My mango iced tea was very good. They offered a nice selection of pastries. Very nice.

My favorite Caribou location! Drive through is always very quick, staff are always nice. I enjoy the inspirational to go cups for their hot drinks, it's a nice reminder in the middle of my day.

Honestly the worst caribou around. Awful customer service. And still messes up my order almost every time even after reading it back to me?

It's only ever good when the manager is working. The main morning DT lady acts like she hates her job.

The coffee and the coffee drinks are really outstanding, the vibe (yes, I know everybody says 'vibe' these days) is excellent, and Pilgrim certainly has a solid local brand/following. I have had the pleasure of coming here on one of the Caffeine Crawls in the Kansas City area, and their demonstration and pride in their product did not disappoint. Lots of space to spread out, with even some smaller bistro tables on the sidewalk area, and a good atmosphere for focus. The last couple of times I have been into Pilgrim, the line stretched to the door frame. That is not a bad thing, because clearly Pilgrim is a destination, but it makes for a messy bit of throughput. Call me old & crabby, but hey, my orders are simple and I really just want to get my fabulous coffee and go. Handy intel: the homemade Pop-Tart thingys are worth the flaky mess, so yummy! Parking is super easy, because out here in the 'burbs, we have lots of space. Pricing is very fair, less than three bucks for a cup of great coffee, or go a little over $5 for a wonderful pourover. It's a great spot and has held down their space for quite awhile, and it's easy to see why.

First of all, be sure not to blink because the sign isn't very visable and the location is unassuming from the outside, abeit a very clean exterior. Walking in, I love the vibe, trendy but not pretentious, grounded yet modern and a fair amount of people but not overflowing. Yessiree Bob, this is my kind of place. Oh and the baristas are patient, kind and willing to offer advice based on your individual tastes. I've been here several times; however, my eating habits preclude me from indulging in anything outside of berries. Do the apple fritters, donuts, muffins and other items look outstanding, of course they do. In fact, my buddy whom I generally meet there has raved how good the pastries are and after living in Austin and trying home made poptarts, I'm still kicking myself for not trying them. However, the path to maintaining a healthy weight and figure is paved in discipline. I must admit they nailed the ambiance. The cement floors are patterned with what looks like dark wood textured tiles and the walls are a warm burgundy, emitting a certain visual warmth. The hanging art amuses me, sometimes it's movie paintings, sometimes its modern art while other times it's eclectic and I've never figured out their rotation, but I appreciate it. The hanging lamps offer a bit of 2010 mod while the open coffee service area proudly displays all of the tools of an expert craftsman. The counter area has a small display case enticing the sweet tooth and the chalk boards give a simplistic view of their menu, but they also offer daily "experiments" that are fun to sample. The first time I came, I tried the Café Au Lait which was very strong, robust and full of lasting flavor. The 12oz amount seemed to be about perfect for my needs. The next time I dropped by I sampled the Dulce de Leche which was a mistake. Why, you might be wondering? Because I've never ordered anything else since then and I always get the 16oz. It's smooth, a little softer on the coffee flavor while balancing it with the strong caramel notes. I know it's probably got more calories than I want, but hey, that's why I'm not eating! They also have some pretty good selection of home ground coffees from places like Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Brazil and other far, far away locations. Come to think of it I don't recall if they have any Hawaiian beans which are pretty trendy now (Kona is a great coffee!!) Oh I forgot to mention they do have a fast wifi but please for the love of God, don't be that geek in the corner pretending to write the great American novel in the corner. That's so.... 2000s.... Overall, this is my favorite coffee shop in Overland Park and it's not even close. Stop on by for the best coffee experience you'll have in the area!

I wasn't the only one with the idea to head to McLain's this morning either. The drive-thru had quite the line-up and there were plenty of folks inside too! This place has great energy. It's colorful and fun with plenty to look at including an amazing bakery case, plenty of packaged food items to go (both sweet and savory), a small retail area, a cool balloon decoration on the wall, and of course the friendly staff and buzzing customers all around. Everything on the menu looks amazing, so it was a challenge to figure out what to order. I ended up going with the market latte with oat milk, the steel cut oats, and a "Plain + Simple," which is "McLain's classic scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheddar, on english muffin toast." My daughter ended up having the P+S and seemed to enjoy it! I also enjoyed my latte and oats. I now know why McLain's is recommended by so many people in the area and how they have 5 locations around town. I would absolutely return!

The plushies and other merch they had was very cute and I'll very likely buy something the next time I visit. The decor was also lovely, with some very happy plants in the windows. The staff were also friendly and gave me no reason to doubt their skills. My only complaint is that the seating was just shy of being comfortable. My friend said the bench seating was a bit hard, and while the chair I sat in was soft, the arm rests made it a little too narrow for me (I'm plus size and have chronic pain, so finding truly comfortable seating can be a challenge at most places. As a note, anyone larger than a women's 3X probably wouldn't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs at all and would need to sit on the bench). Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I plan to go again!
