I stop in here quite a bit. The parking is pretty good. You walk in, get in line, and order. The staff is super friendly, and the food is always good. How do I get busy here? I walk in, toss my bag on a table, and go order. Ok, what do I get? A hot double espresso; a tall, cold, while milk with ice; a ham and swiss croissant. I pay with the app and go sit down. Since I'm eating in, the food doesn't go to the takeout alphabet area. It just goes to the slot between the straws and the lids. Sometimes n they bring the food to my table. It depends upon how busy they are, and believe me, they can become rather busy between the takeout, the eat-in, and the drive-thru. I set up my work and simply chill here. When it's busy, it's noisy. New location for the the Cromwell Ave store location. We now have a Drive Thru......Amen! So happy! No, I'm not lazy I'm 38 Weeks pregnant and still going into work so the Drive Thru is one less time to have to get outta of my best of a SUV. They also have a video monitor on the drive-thru we're you can see the person taking your order but none of the baristas seem to want to be on the monitor..... I have only had one barista actually use the monitor the couple of times I've used the drive-thru. The drive-thru moves pretty quickly. The only precaution I would say is when you leaving the parking lot just be careful since they are still do construction and the driveway is a little tight pulling out of the lot. read more

Tl;dr these people are awesome! I started coming to this specific location because I joined a Meetup group that uses this Starbucks as its weekly Sunday meeting place. The cafe is vibrant and happening, with baristas who are all very friendly and graceful. The cafe is spotless. It's always hopping, but never too crowded amenities include different kinds of seating, free Wifi, gender-neutral restrooms,.. One of the things that really sets this Starbucks apart from others I've visited are the notes of love, care, compassion, and hope at the entrance. There are seasonally appropriate decorations, some of which have some of these notes. These have meant a lot to me. There is also a board of similarly-spirited sticky notes, which I have contributed to myself. I hope anyone who needs to see it will. (And in this Starbucks you don't have to go out of your way to find them, though you might miss them if you aren't very observant.) I love coming here every week. My *only* issue with the experience is a larger Starbucks issue, not this specific place. I REALLY want to tip the baristas! They are underpaid and rely exclusively on *cash* tips since there is no way to tip by card or on the app. Well, I don't carry cash, but I want to give back. I'm thinking of hitting an ATM before I come next week so I can make up for all the awesomeness I haven't been able to compensate. read more

I will never be returning to this location again and frankly don't see how they're even still in business, they've gone so far downhill. So I drive up, had to repeat my order 4 times to the person at the window, was told I'd be given my total at the window, waited over 5 minutes, and finally get to the window only to have this person try and hand me the wrong drink. Oh and then the breakfast sandwich it took me 5 mins to order? They were then out. So I said never mind. Still was never told what my order total was and then wasn't even told to have a good day or sorry. So I call to complain and the manager was absolutely unhelpful and defended the employee. Um I'm sorry, there's no morning rush. I point blank asked what breakfast sandwiches there are. And she couldn't get my order put in not once, not twice, but four times. Unacceptable. Change has occurred at the Rocky Hill Starbucks in the form of a new location WITH a drive thru! The store itself is a lot like the other in many ways, but in some ways not so much. The store is much larger than the old one with many more tables to sit and do work. I loved the high ceilings and airy feeling of the store. I am giving it three stars (for now) because I think that there are some kinks to be worked out. With this new location being larger, it seems that they have hired more baristas who are still trying to get into the groove of things. It did take a bit longer for my order but I will let it slide (for now). Being even closer to I91 now - I have a feeling that my neighborhood Starbucks will seem a bit more commercialized now but time will tell. read more

So our family goes to this Starbucks every now and then. It's a friendly store, especially if you get served by Blue. He's got such a warm personality, and a natural way of making you feel special. I suspect he's too young to realize his talent. I imagine on his reviews he gets high scores on "interpersonal skills". He's in the right business: working with the public. Order ahead is frequently turned off. On those days, I have consistently gone to the store to order in person. Uniformly I have found them to be well staffed and with fewer than typical customers. Additionally, when ordering ahead, I frequently arrive to find that I need to wait an additional 10-15 minutes for items to be ready. When this applies to food items, I can clearly see them sitting next to the oven ready to be packed but just sitting. Unless I ask, I would have to keep waiting. This is annoying and does not happen at the Middletown location or any of the locations I have frequented in Boston or NY. Please fix this!!!! read more

This location is the absolute worst of the worst. The staff seems to work at one speed - SLOW. Orders are wrong very often and even when online ordering you still have to wait forever to get your order. It seems there are always machines breaking down and only one person who knows how to take care of them. read more

Not a great staff at this Starbucks. Went in to get coffee this morning and they forgot my order. I waited about 10 minutes (they were very busy) until someone asked what I ordered. I'd have liked an apology, but again, I can chalk that up to them being busy. What I don't understand is why a store that's so busy would have their cashier call out the lady waiting behind me, several times to get her attention, so they could call her back to the cash register since they undercharged her 14 cents. This classless over-reaction is not only humiliating, but also odd to the line of people still waiting to place their orders. Seems to me that if it's the store's mistake to undercharge 14 cents, they can get over it instead of causing this kind of scene. This is the type of stuff that I've seen at Dunkin Donuts and I really thought Starbucks was better than that. read more

WTH- I absolutely hate this location! Not due to an inconvenience of location but due to the extra extra slow staff that they have hired! Went in on a Saturday evening 5 o'clock approximately with one car ahead of me - took me eleven minutes, I timed it. A new location makes this Starbucks step up high. Everything is brand new here, which gives you the best look of it. Clean space, decent enough to accommodate both indoor and outdoor seating. Great staff, added they have a pretty good drive through and the service is pretty quick too. read more

Not sure why the reviews aren't too great, considering this location is ALWAYS busy. There is a convenient drive-thru, as well as outdoor seating, which is always a plus in my book. The new location has opened and the old one that I've gone to for years is boarded up. It's sad in a way, but the new building has a pretty open floor plan, high ceilings and a good amount of seating. There is now a drive-up, which is a great perk (no pun intended), but I usually prefer to just go inside. The wait time on a weekday morning was a little much, but it's to be expected I think. For some reason, my Starbucks app couldn't find this store so I was unable to order ahead, but I will definitely do that on my next visit to cut down on wait time. I recognized the same friendly faces that I came to know at the old store, and of course they offer the same delicious coffee. To echo similar reviews, this location sucks. I ordered my coffee at 6:52am for pickup. After waiting on the drive through line for over TWENTY minutes, I got to the window only to be told that my order wasn't made yet because they were "backed up". Other locations have a person dedicated for mobile orders, in store orders, and drive-thru. This location needs some serious time management training. Not a great way to start the day! read more

So I parked and brought it back inside and the worker who made it told me there was no coffee in it and that it's what I asked for. Worst Starbucks ever! I live nearby and this starbucks is the slowest Starbucks in the area! I went in today and ordered a coffee and a sandwich. They gave me my coffee right away and asked me to park in one of the parking spots for my sandwich. Waited there for 13min and the barista finally came up with my sandwich with no apology no gift card no nothing! So I asked him why it took so long and he said the oven was off! Very disappointed by this Starbucks! Will no longer go there! That's unacceptable for a drive through! And for a Starbucks! Tip shaming by 20-something worker, with red-hair and thick black glasses on June 14, 2016, 3:30 PM, Drive-thru window. My family and I bought an ice tea at the drive-thru service. The charge was $4.46 (or $3.46). The worker could see I had the bills in one hand and that I was collecting the change part of the bill - which means he wasn't getting a tip this time. ( Side Note: I know service workers work hard and do not receive a livable wage from Corporate employers. Therefore, I always throw a dollar in tip jars, or the remaining change if I don't have a single dollar bill. This time, however, I chose not to.) Anyway, as he took the change and input it into the register, he asks: "Do you want your change?" I reply: "Of course I do." He replies, sarcastically: "Here's your four cents." He gives a clown-like wave as we leave. Another attempt to throw sarcasm because he wasn't getting a tip for pouring ice tea in a plastic cup. Unprofessional tip-shaming, rude and immature. We called the Corp office and made a complaint. When we return from vacation, we will be contacting the store owner. As a whole, the other employees are professional. The wait is a little long here but they work as fast as they can. Perhaps another employee on the floor would help with the long wait. By the way, they keep a Tip Jar outside of the building. When you drive to drive-thru, you'll see a big Tip Jar situated on the outer window ledge. Yes, it's outside the building. If you don't tip, you will experience an attempt at "tip-shaming" by a red headed male with thick black glasses. You have been warned. I doubt he behaves this way toward men. This location is the absolute worst starbucks I have visited. I live near by and I go out of my way to drive to Wethersfield location. #1 The coffee is ALWAYS burned and over brewed. It always tastes like cigarettes. A simply iced coffee is bitter. For a place to be known for coffee, how do you screw up this main characteristic? Fix this problem at this location please. #2 The staff is impolite and slow. They do not make an effort to know their regulars. They are children who were not trained or hired on customer service. #3 The wait time is ridiculous. You will be there at the very least 11 minutes through the drive through and that is with two cars ahead of you. #4 The customer service is unapologetic about anything. Even if they are at fault, you will not be reimbursed or offered anything for your inconvenience. The overall experience leaves a bitter taste in your mouth at this location. Pun intended. Stay far and take heed to the reviews here until the staff is completely retrained or rehired. Starbucks touts that they are the best luxury coffee chain and we the people should get what is advertised. I advise to spend your $6 wisely. Starbucks itself is a great business but there's this one barista named Ashley and she was the absolute the worst. She was the rudest girl I heard of with an immature attitude. And I'm not the only one, today my friends said she claimed to be harassed by them while they were in the drive thru getting two coffees. She came out to deliver the coffees and as soon as she saw them she ran crying forcing another employee to finish their order, THEN called the police on them and said that they were banned from the Starbucks (keep in mind they literally order two coffees and said nothing else to provoke this situation). I came into the new Starbucks to get a unicorn frap to see what all the buzz is about. During my time there the person at the cash register was having a full on conversation with the person ahead me. We were the only two people in line at the time but, it took them 5 minutes just to finish their conversation and order their drinks.
