Starbucks located in the old marketplace in San Ramon. I feel like this location has been around for a very, very long time. I've been in this place many times over the years, especially when I stay with or visit family. I'm pretty sure members of my family are red letters at this location too. In terms of offerings it's pretty much standard what you would find at other Starbucks. But the folks that work here seem to be always friendly and they're really efficient since I feel like this location gets a lot of volume. This location itself has a good amount of tables and it's a popular place to study and get some work done if needed. Also, it helps that it has plenty of parking around it. read more

I left a review about how terrible this Starbucks is and somehow it magically gets deleted the next morning. That alone says everything about how this place is run. The two people I believe are managers, Moe and Tucker, are some of the most disrespectful and rude employees I've ever dealt with. Zero manners, horrible attitudes, and they treat customers horribly. I've worked at Starbucks before, and this is NOT how management should ever be handled. Managers are supposed to de-escalate situations and treat customers with professionalism and respect, not act immature and disrespectful. Honestly, based on the way they act and how this store is being run, I genuinely think these two managers should be fired. I don't typically go to Starbucks but it was hot and I wanted something fruity and refreshing. I've been seeing a lot of their advertising for pink drinks so I decided to go in. The sweetest barista, Peter, helped me! I couldn't decide what I wanted and he offered some suggestions. Do I want something blended, or with milk, or fruity? We finally settled on the Blended Strawberry Lemonade because he said it was the most refreshing. I was a little hesitant at first but he was so right!!! I ordered a Venti refresher drink without ice, for my daughter, the cup is filled up to 70%, I asked the server why the cup is not filled. She responded that it was company policy because the drink was ordered without ice. A week ago from another store. I ordered a small tea and requested to put the tea bag in a venti cup because my wife did not like her tea too strong. If you've been in one Starbucks, you've essentially been in all of them as far as menu, products and format. So, how do they differ from one another? Well, they don't although some are nicer or bigger/small than others. So this is how I see this particular location: Pluses: Friendly, efficient staff Staff seems to like working there. For the most part - error free performance Bathroom is almost always very clean. Quality of the coffee drinks are pretty consistent They always offer two brews of regular coffee and sometimes three that includes a seasonal brew. Interior seating is larger than most Starbucks. They have both individual chairs and tables in addition to communal chairs and tables. They also have outdoor patio seating. Parking is plentiful and easy in their shared lot right out in front. Convenient location - Nob Hill/Raleys, Trader Joe's and CVS are all in the same center. Decent "Rewards" program for returning customers to enjoy free coffee. Accepts many forms of payment Minuses: Personnel changes a lot. So much so that I sometimes wonder if this is a "training" store for new Baristas. Sometimes the lines are a long so some waiting seems normal. 3.5 Stars. This Starbucks is always busy especially after school. Today, it was packed. The line to order was long and so was the line to pick up your drink order. Surprisingly, the employees that I encountered were all very friendly today. They all were working hard taking orders, cranking out drinks, and cleaning out the overflowing trash. Occasionally, when I go there during lunch time or early afternoon, the workers are not as friendly as the mid to late afternoon crew. I remember Cole when he worked at Target and Target Starbucks down the street. He has worked at this location for a few months (maybe a year now?) and is very respectful. I wish I got the other male (long dark brown ponytail) and female (young with matte lipstick) names because they are much friendlier than some of the others that I've interacted with there. One thing that was a put off was that I witnessed the barista that was making my drinks literally add quite a bit of cold water to my drinks (that tap water fountain next to their espresso machine). I always ask for light ice in my cold beverages; but, that really threw me off. Next time I witness this, I'm definitely saying something. Considering that we have a Starbucks at work, I wouldn't frequent this place, but since I had a bday drink to claim, I had to come here as our Starbucks cannot use promotion codes. So, off I went to the nearest Starbucks and this is where I landed. This Starbucks is located in the Market Place in a corner separate from the rest of the Market Place shops. Closer to Nob Hill and Hopyard/Walgreens (?). Parking is in the lot and there's plenty of it. Going inside, there's a lot of seats so I'm sure it's great for those who want to study or work. The person who got my order was fun. He's like oh, a free birthday drink. What kind of crazy drink would you like? I wasn't as creative, but I did add java chips to the Caramelized Honey Frap and he's like, well that's crazy too :) The order came out fairly quickly and I downed that thing in the same amount of time it came out...and it was a venti. Overall, I would definitely come back if I needed to claim promotions. Friendly staff that I can see would be great to see on a regular basis. When they're not making drinks, at least one of them is wiping counters/restocking/etc. Best seats in the house are the window seats along the back wall. Or more like a window bench with squishy cushions with outlets underneath. This place is almost entirely lit by natural light during the day, perfect for contemplation or long catch-ups. Also, this Starbucks actually has TWO bathrooms, one for males, one for females (hooray!) instead of the usual unisex single. I don't understand why people go out of their way to be so rude and uncaring. I placed a mobile order for a pumpkin muffin and Frappuccino. When I got there my muffin was no longer a muffin but a pumpkin loaf it was completely smashed. I asked the barista to warm me up another one. As I watcher her take one out a new one ... only to take muffin that was already warmed n smushed and put it back into a different bag I was shocked. I was a barista for two years. Ok, so what I'm about to tell you is not just a one time thing that is just an accident, this has happened about 5 times in the past and is becoming more and more common. I just get milk In the mornings and today I made the horrible mistake of accidentally clicking extra whip. This normally means they substitute a little milk for more whip cream. But apparently a grande=venti (extra large) AND they filled my venti cup less than half full with milk and over the brim with whip cream! They are getting more and more conservative over HOW FULL THEY FILL A CUSTOMER'S CUP! They fill it half way and I have to ask them to fill it all the way. They already overprice their drinks and food and now I have to check every time I get something to drink?! read more
