This is supposed to be dark roast black coffee.

I will always get coffee from a small business if I have the choice but every once in a while there's no good choice other than the corporate option. I think this happened last time I got coffee at Starbucks somewhere else, but this cup of coffee is a total ripoff. $3.50 for a cup of hot water with a brown crayon or something melted in it. I guess this is their way of increasing profits? Use just enough grounds to slightly color the water? Awful coffee for a dumb price. It was never my favorite but it definitely didn't used to be this bad.

Barista Noa's Favorite (posted on easel in front of store on 5/15/22) 10/10!

I usually dont get crazy when it comes to customizing my drinks so deciding to try the day's posted Barista's favorite, Noa's Favorite", was a huge leap of faith. Oh my goodness its was delicious. It's my new favorite too! I had to get mine decaf which they were happy to do (so thankful). Thank you, Barista Noa, for sharing! Thank you sooo much! PS service was top notch!! keep it up!!!!

This is a very nice little Starbucks. Service was fast and friendly. Everyone inside was carefully complying with covid-19 policies. They clear the drive-thru line pretty fast.

    Front of store. Trash everywhere.

This has to be the slowest and dirtiest Starbucks anywhere. Cigarette butts and trash covering the front entrance patio. Homeless people hanging out begging for money. Parking lot is a joke. Drive through line stretches into the roadway. Overall a very sad and disturbing experience.

First off Kaya is friggin amazing!!!! So thoughtful and sweet, always remembers my name and my drink. Today she did something soooooo sweet for me today and to be honest people do not do things out of kindness anymore at all so I really appreciate her. The whole staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and the establishment is always clean and well lit. The only downside is their tiny parking lot but it will never stop me from going in.

Hot venti drink with no cup sleeve because they ran out.

I'm not sure what's going on with so many Starbucks running out of sleeves for the hot cup of coffee. I normally don't go to this location in Seaside near McDonalds but I was in the area and need a quick fix on caffeine. I ordered mobile order this time and surprisingly there's no long line because getting into this parking lot can be a circus. I've been inside the coffee shoppe a couple of times and in the past mainly through drive through. My personal experience is that it's the worst customer service I have received. Compared to the other Starbucks I've been to to include this one, the one is Safeways, five locations in Monterey, one in Pacific Grove, one in Marina and there were others I just can't think of right now. This is my least to go to. My experience is noticing the disorganization in the store, heading them tell that they ran out of coffee beans, people that ordered behind me got their drinks before me and when picking up my hot drinks, they just slide it to me without coffee sleeves or offered and they had plenty of sleeves. This time, I ordered a hot coffee and pick up through drive through and I noticed there were no sleeves so I asked if the cup was double cup so it won't burn my hands. The girl said yes because they ran out of cup sleeves. I should have check but was in a rush and trusted the Starbuck's personnel's words and my hand was starting to burn and become red. Other Starbucks ran out of cup sleeves too but they usually automatically and courteously double cup so customers won't burn their hands and can enjoy their hot coffee. Please, this Starbucks, be aware and help alleviate this simple problem. Unfortunately, due to current conditions, we aren't able to use our own reusable cups for coffee per Starbucks, which is understandable. If customers have to use their sleeves to hold their hot coffee, please let us know. Upside is that the coffee was tasty.

Good, every time! Thank you for being consistent baristas

The new gold standard…read more Alta is the new gold standard by which I will unfortunately be judging every bakery from now on. Get there early or prepare to wait in line--the secret is very much out. And deservedly so. The staff is exceptionally friendly, the setting is wonderful, and somehow the food tastes even better than it looks, which is an accomplishment considering the artistry coming out of the pastry case. Alta occupies part of the historic Cooper-Molera Adobe complex, and its back garden may be one of the loveliest places I've ever eaten breakfast. Passionflowers tumble over walls and trellises, potted plants and mature trees soften the courtyard, and shade sails make it an incredibly pleasant place to linger over coffee and pastry. It feels less like café seating and more like breakfast in a particularly lovely California garden. And then there's the food. I came back two mornings in a row. The first day's quiche was ham and roasted pepper; the second was cheese and mushroom. Both were outstanding. The egg filling had this almost impossibly silky quality, with a beautifully browned top and crisp, buttery crust. I found myself deliberately slowing down because I genuinely wanted to savor every bite. The pistachio-rose swirl was exceptional: delicate, flaky layers with honey, pistachio and rose playing off one another without becoming cloyingly sweet or perfumey. It's the sort of pastry that reminds you what laminated dough is actually supposed to be. The maple-bacon swirl was the only thing that didn't quite reach the same stratospheric level. The flavor was good, but the rendered bacon fat seemed to fuse some of those beautiful layers together during baking. At most bakeries I probably still would have called it very good. Alta had simply set an absurdly high standard for itself. Then a table beside me ordered the smoked-salmon toast, I saw it arrive, and resistance became pointless. Warm, hearty, thick-cut bread topped with crème fraîche, radish, pickled red onion, greens and a genuinely generous amount of smoked salmon. A triumph. Even the pistachio-honey latte was a dream. I can't rave about Alta enough. My only complaint is that I didn't have more mornings in Monterey to work my way through the rest of the menu. It was one of the culinary highlights of the entire trip and is now my benchmark for what an excellent bakery can be. Alta, you have ruined lesser bakeries for me. Five stars. No notes. Except: make more pastries. I have unfinished business.

The place is very cute little mom and Pop shop. they have cake slices of cakes, other pastries, and also coffee that you can purchase from them also as well as cookies. They have a day old shelf with things you can also buy. Because they close on Sundays, they made an accommodation for us to be open at 10 AM so that we can stop by and pick it up. We came back on Sunday 10 minutes before our pick up time and the owner was already in there waiting for us to come pick up the cake. To say I am disappointed in the $70 Birthday cake my husband purchased is an understatement…read more He ordered a lemon cake with raspberry preserves with buttercream icing. What we received was a dry cake with hardly any flavor. My Mother thought it was just a yellow cake, she couldn't even taste the lemon. And she is an experienced baker. She made our lemon and raspberry wedding cake, that my husband was trying to recreate. The raspberry "preserves" were gelatinous, like pie filling from a can. Preserves should be a jam like consistency, only with larger fruit pieces. But sadly, this was goopy and artificial tasting. And the buttercream was greasy, not creamy, like it was made from Crisco shortening (not butter), sugar and water. It didn't even have any flavor (maybe they forgot to put vanilla extract in it?) Even the construction of the cake was poor. They clearly didn't put enough batter in the pans. Normally you shave the rounded top off to make it flat. This bakery just added tons of icing in an attempt to make up for the rounded edges. Which also meant there were barely any raspberry "preserves" in between the layers. And last but not least. When my husband special ordered the cake (in person) he asked for white sprinkles. When he arrived to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready. And they told him they didn't have white sprinkles. And offered to cover the entire cake in tiny rock hard pearls, that are typically only used sparingly for decorative purposes. Because they are so hard, many decorators recommend removing them before eating! My Dad bit into it and said it was like trying to eat buck shot. My Father has never met a cake or sweet he didn't like, until now. He didn't want another piece during his entire visit. My mother and I didn't even finish our first piece. To charge $70 for this 8" cake was just criminal. I would have returned it if I could.
