Lots of parking available out front early in the morning

Local (chain) coffee shop serving up tasty coffee drinks, tea, baked goods and breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. One morning I opted for the Beach Walk with Almond milk and it was so smooth and not overly sweet. I'm going to try to recreate it at home. We'll see. I'm not that good at duplicating things. I also got an apricot scone which was huge and I only ate half. I enjoyed the other half later in the afternoon and it was still great! The next time we went I got a hot green tea and the blueberry scone. I don't know how they get their water to lava hot but be careful. I accidentally spilled some on my hand and it was bright red and tender for an hour. The blueberry scone was also fantastic. Highly recommend this coffee shop! They have several locations. The one in Carmel by the sea is always slammed. We went to the one that is not that one and didn't have but a couple people in front of us each time.

Unfortunately not a great coffee experience this morning. I got the salty bee latte and only took a few sips before having to toss it. The drink was weirdly very thick and viscous, so it ended up being a pretty unpleasant texture. However the breakfast burrito I had was delicious!

My almond croissant. The photo does not do it justice!

They have the most delicious almond croissant that I've ever tasted: huge amount of almond filling double layered(!) with generous amounts of crispy sliced almonds on top surrounded by a heavenly buttery pastry. Cold brew coffee is good. They have plump sandwiches as well. Nice clean shop with good air and vibes. Quick friendly service.

The food was great! The service was great! The ambiance was great! They have lounge music playing in the background. There are items and bags of coffee for sale. Many people are lined up to order. There is outdoor & indoor dining available. We ordered the popular signature drink, Fogbreaker (5/5) that is a vanilla, honey, & cinnamon latte. My daughter ordered an ice chai latte with cold foam (5/5). The coffee was just right. Not too strong, but not too sweet. We also tried the cinnamon roll (5/5), cranberry scone (5/5), and a chocolate chip cookie (5/5). Everything was moist and flavorful!

    Thank you - Next!

This place is way overhyped! I got the toasted marshmallow white chocolate mocha with oat milk with half the syrup and less ice. First of all, there is what seems to be sugar granules on the bottom of the latte, even if I tried to mix it. I'm not even a coffee snob, but this was not drinkable. I would like to give the coffee shop a benefit of a doubt that maybe this drink is only good for HOT lattes where the sugar would've melted. But waited in line for 15-20 minutes for an unconsumable drink.

Nice established local coffee house. Great outside seating as well. All the usual coffee specialties made extremely well. Regular "Joe" too. Lots of pastries including AD Astra, breakfast burritos, etc. Go, enjoy.

After spending the better part of the day exploring stops up and down Highway 1, we had only one thing on our mind when we got back into Carmel - a caffeine fix. So, you could say it was more than a little convenient that the first complex we hit off the highway (The Crossroads) also has one of the coffee shops I was most interested in around here - Carmel Valley Coffee! Not that I had heard anything specific about them (or this location), but after coming across their outpost on Ocean Ave and seeing that they had multiple locations listed on Yelp, I figured it was a positive sign that they were as good of a shop as any to check out on our trip! With three locations scattered around town (the third is near this one, at The Barnyard), you could argue that Carmel Valley Coffee is a "mini-chain" of sorts, given how relatively small Carmel is. However, that just speaks more to their success and popularity, as they feel far more local and family owned than the likes of Starbucks or Peet's. As for their menu, they have your typical staples, like espressos, cold brews, frappes, Italian sodas, teas, and hot chocolate, but what really stands out is their super interesting selection of house specialty and seasonal drinks. If you're looking for something to eat, they have a variety of breakfast foods, sandwiches, and pastries, many of which are sourced from regional vendors. -- FOGBREAKER - Vanilla, Honey, Cinnamon Latte The worker mentioned this was one of their most popular drinks, but we were planning on getting this anyways. The balance of the vanilla, cinnamon, and honey complemented each other really well, creating a sweet and somewhat spiced mix of flavors. -- CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF FOG - Organic Rishi Early Grey Tea, Vanilla Syrup, Vanilla Cold Foam, Honey Drizzle Not a coffee like we had intended, but this sounded too good on their summer menu to not try it. For me, I really liked how the earl grey didn't get lost in the vanilla syrup and cold foam and that this didn't taste overly sweet. That said, it could be because we lost some of the honey on the bottom of the lid. Along with our drinks (and the service, which we thought was pretty friendly), the other thing that I really liked about our time here was, quite simply, the vibe. Between the relatively chill pace of everything, the gorgeous weather, and just getting to sit and people watch like a local, the whole experience was so relaxing! Considering how far away this particular location is from downtown Carmel, I'm not sure sure if/when I'll be back, but if I'm passing by on my way down/up Highway 1, you can bet I'll be coming back again for another jolt of caffeine to keep me going!

Almond croissant and spice pastery. The toasted bevy was amazing !

As we passed through Carmel/monterey we kept an eye out for a great coffee shop and fell upon Carmel valley roasting and it is worth 5 stars! The coffee was amazing and pastries even better! The service was quick and ambiance was great as they offered indoor and outdoor seating! The outdoor was cute as it was in the cute crossroads shopping center.

Carmel Valley coffee roasters has a few locations in the Monterey Bay. I usually go to one of them when I'm visiting. The staff are always nice and they are good places to hang around at. The coffee is hit or miss. Sometimes it's very good and other times it's not. Today I had the fog lifter and a slice of carrot cake. They were both ok the coffee wasn't very strong for a dark roast.

Coffee please, well wouldn't ya know there was a place across the street. It was 12noon small place, no line, lots of pastries and some lunchish items in the cooler case. The pastry the server chose for me was good, no pastries are made on the premises. Not sure about the lunch snacks origin. We sat at the bistro tables on the sidewalk and admired the parade of tourists and residents. P went in for a reheat, I washed the pastry back with my warm coffee. The reheat worked for P, no problem. We enjoyed the scenery, had a few laughs, and left when a resident tried to parallel his Rolls Royce in front of us. Nothing special here just a coffee place but certainly convenient for our coffee break. Have a nice day Foodguy-Martin

From the outside, the place looks like a little hole in the wall with just a sign outside and an A-frame advertising their specials. When you step inside, however, it is surprisingly roomie with a few places to sit. My +1 tried the lavender latte (with honey) and liked it so much that she ordered it again. I'm not one for lavender, but I took a sip just to try it, and the latte was very pleasant and the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. I on the other hand, opted for the Tidal Wave, which was their blend of energy drink, and raspberry syrup added. It was admittedly, a little sweet, but I found myself ordering it again. Also just because I needed that extra kick, and the sugar didn't bother me with all the walking we were doing. Unfortunately, I don't understand the hype at all. I've had fantastic donuts from plenty of places, and these simply aren't in that category. To me, it tasted like a pretty basic donut covered with an excessive amount of sugary toppings and glaze. Instead of tasting fresh, balanced, and flavorful, the sweetness completely overwhelmed everything else. I couldn't even finish mine. It was so overly sweet that I actually felt sick afterward. Maybe this style of donut works for people who love extremely sweet desserts, but it definitely wasn't for me. This feels like another place that became popular because it photographs well and gets pushed heavily on social media rather than because the food is exceptional. If you take away the hype, I just don't see anything particularly special about the donuts. Definitely a one-and-done experience for me. I wouldn't buy another donut here, and there are far better donut shops that I'd spend my money at.
